Its a good place to go walking, HOWEVER THERE IS A BIIIGGGGG DOWNSIDE TO THIS PARTICULAR PARK, It seems to be a hookup spot for men which i quickly found out while walking through one of the trails

This was the best experience of my life! My wife and I came here on a Saturday and then nine months later our daughter was born. Praise Allah!

Disappointed. Board walk closed and not easily found. Water ways around park are littered with a lot of trash. If you are familiar with the park, would be ok to bring kids. Other wise NOT suitable for kids. Bike path good.

This is NOT a park it should be called a preserve if that. It sits next to waste management, police and fire facilities, as well as other industrial facilities. There is a bike path that follows the fence line keeping you from all the industrial parts, you barley see any wet land and there is LOTS of trash throughout the park. Saw some natural boar and egret . The pretty view I posted is found at the end of the bike path on a dilapidated lookout platform.

Only this low of a score because we walked on the bike track and it was the most disgusting walk because of the garbage dump next door. The smell was unbearable.

Natural but too much industrial. Trails need maintenance badly. (11/2020)

Why would anyone ever visit this place twice? if some mutant creature was born somewhere in Tampa, it would definitely be here.

Great park for biking or hiking. Paved trail. No boardwalk. Its closed off and is in serious disrepair. Rotting and missing many boards.

Review №11

Worst experience ever. The times of operation in Google clearly says that it’s open until 8pm on Saturday. I came there at 6pm, parked the car and was hoping to enjoy my walk. I came back and got the ticket, becase on the sign in front of the park it’s said that it’s closing after sunsets. This sign of course I didn’t even notice. Because of this mistake of Google I had a horrible experience.

This park and trail is located conveniently next to the city waste management facility, selmon expressway, and the port of tampa. Picture wind and bird driven smelly trash almost everywhere. Now add the salty gasoline smell of a very busy port. Then Add the sounds and exhaust of a major freeway. Wow. Lots of vandalism. Picnic table thrown into the swamp. Trash fuled ravenous mosquitoes. I did see a manatee...chewing on a chip bag. I give it two stars instead on one because there was at least law enforcement present on the almost never travelled trail.Hard pass. Hard pass.

Love this park nice long Concrete paths but the trails are short don’t take the trails near the south end of the park you will get lost stick to the path you will be ok sketchy people park in the parking lot also so be careful

Ja

While there is a nicely paved, mostly tree covered trail, it wraps around an industrial wasteland. There are few views of the bay and the parking lot is sketchy. One of the least desirable places in Tampa to run.

This abomination is not a park, it is next to a waste disposal factory. Smelly, dirty, no open space, rats, scary green retention ponds.

Nice shaded parking and walk path, but way too many sketchy dudes lurking around mid-day during the week. Not sure what this place is know for, but its either for getting high or hooking up with other dudes. Its a shame because I like the path. Its a little smelly at parts, but its not that bad as some other mention. They need to clean up the trash a bit for sure.

Lots of trash. Looks like an after thought site for the City. Likely concerned more with the Heights and development elsewhere, but blemishes like this dont need to be. Minor efforts to pickup trash and trim trees would go a long way in treating all residents equal.

Boardwalk entrance from nature trail is closed. Park is not being well maintained. Bicycle trail was nicely paved and clear. Lots of industrial type businesses border park so air smells. I would stick to bike trail. Okay for dogs

May not be a bad place to go and have your lunch if you work nearby parking area is shaded and parking is free. If youre biking the bike trail is paved but its dry versus around the sanitation department and the police academy and it is smelly and foul. There are far better places still spiked recreationally this has to be one of the worst.

It is a nice little park. And could be one of the nicest ones in town. But the lack of a complete loop bike trail and incomplete Crosstown bike trail make this park kind of a dud. Worth a trip, but dont expect a Flatwoods experience.

Da
Review №46

Disgusting and pathetic. I went to this park years ago and it wasnt anywhere near this bad. Saw some dead wildlife (pollution?) and a truckload of litter. Its bad enough it is by the trash dump, but thats not really anything that Parks and Rec can do about it. Outside of that, this is one of the most poorly maintained parks I have ever seen. Litter everywhere, people hanging out in their cars using drugs (down the street from dozens of cops).Walked the nature trail with the kids and turned a corner to surprise a couple of men.... I dont care what folks do, but in the middle of the day in a small city park with kids walking around? Come on. Used condoms, sanitary wipes, human feces, rotting mattress on the Wilderness Trail. My 9 year old suggested the City of Tampa change the name of this park to Decay Bay, which is fitting.City of Tampa Parks and Rec, please close this park if you cannot maintain it or make it safe for people to use. It is an embarrassment for our City and your department.

Went to this park today after reading about it online. Wow is it sad. I would look somewhere else to get out and stretch your legs. You can hear so much traffic, the garbage plant with garbage trucks is right outside the fence. The little pond stinks and is drying up and the bicycle path was closed....this place is pitiful.
