The renovation is amazing. I should post photos but I was too busy with the boat (Ill go back sometime just for photos). If you wanna get your boat in the water and meander down the river a ways come or fish the brackish water dashed this is your place, but if you want to go boating in the Bay, choose a ramp further down, Closer to the Bay and youll save yourself the time. The ripper is a nice experience just for the sake of tooling up-and-down or going from lower part to Ricks for a Burger, And you can even dock close to the boardwalk... But Tampa is not quite this city enough for one to think about this being easy - you cant take your boat vs drive to dinner.

This is a great place for entertainment watching people coming and going for a nice ride on the Hillsborough River! You should be careful at the ramp however as it has a drop off and can do damage to a trailer if you go off the edge!

Great place to launch. We have a 26 foot Scarab and although it is a little tight we launch with no problems. Great slow ride down the Hillsborough to the bay. We usually stop and eat at Armature Works or Columbia Restaurant. Parking is limited at the ramp but there is overflow parking 1/4 mile away.

Gorgeous area since years ago it was really back 30 yrs ago.

Adequate car and truck/trailer parking with appropriate designated spaces. The grounds has a restroom which is a plus. It certainly could have been cleaner but it is a public restroom. The dock is a bit small and the boat ramp can accommodate no more than two entries or exists at a time and if a patron is not considerate than only one.

Looks great! However, it is closed for renovations until 6/1/2020. Can’t wait to see when it’s done.

Great place to get your boat in the water and down the river in Tampa ! Big parking lot plenty of room for cars, trucks and trailers to park. The earlier in the day you get there the quieter it will be but if there are no more spots left you can head just down the block and there is more parking and a short walk back to the boat ramp. Enjoy your boat day !

Always packed never anywhere to park unless you get there super early, but theres not a whole lot of choices to go boating in that area. So youre kind of stuck. But other than that, its not a bad place.

This is a decent boat ramp positioned on the Hillsborough River near Tampa Bay river walk and Curtis Hixon Park, but it can get crowded at times. You’re in a no wake zone for quite a while if you’re headed out to the bay. The water is very dark and full of gators so I suggest you only go out from there on a reliable vessel. Few miles down the river you can dock at Ricks and have yourself a cold drink and some good local food. One day the ramp was closed because local pd was recovering a dead body that had washed up. Over all a decent boat ramp if you’re headed into the bay

Its still free! Only public ramp on lower (south) end of Hillsborough River. We like it because as you go down the river theres lots of restaurants and parks you can enjoy!

Nice ramp, the docks could use some help though. Get there early or you will wait in line to launch.

No one can be beat such a privilege to drop a boat, and park your trailers w/o paying a cent. Nonetheless, get Early and prepared, on busy days. Do not break the flow.

Watch out for the perimeter cut off phone poles! You cant see them from up in a truck and they do serious damage!!!

BUSY boat ramp on the weekends but very clean. Can get a bit crazy on the weekends with the shortage of parking spaces by the ramp and then factor in the sun at the end of the day and it can get a bit heated at times. They do have an overflow parking lot about 1/4 mile down the road.

Terrible boat ramp during low tide, gonna need two people to bump over a concrete bump and use the boat engine to back out of your trailer. Only go during high tide

Wonderful picturesque boat ramp adjacent to the most inviting park in Tampa + Lowry Zoo. Great access to the Hillsborough River marine and boating scene.

Good place to launch. The wood docks could use some work. They were large enough to take a kid fishing on them for a bit.

This is a great boat ramp. One of the only ones in the area. Ramp can definitely be tough to launch from on busy days.Parking can also be a little tight on busy days. There is overflow parking down the street. About an eighth of a mile.The park is well-maintained with plenty of picnic tables, a trail, and shelters.

Once in awhile they find a body down there and it has nothing to do with Lowry Park it has to do with bad people doing bad things

I love the peaceful feeling there. If only i had a boat.

Tampas finest free boat ramp and great family park. Clothing optional as long as youre wearing clothes. Alcoholic beverages prohibited if you are caught. Everybody loves this place.Warning. ..squirrels expect to be fed.

Free - 1 ramp with two lanes and parking, gets crowded early. Decent park but the ramp and dock could use a major overhaul. I live in walking distance with a 24 ft boat and prefer to launch elsewhere

Go early trailer parking fills up fast. If you are hosting a party rent the huts ahead of time.
