This is a perfect place to walk on hot summer days because the majority of the pathway is shaded by trees. Its a loop path about 875 steps around. Totally paved either with asphalt, concrete and even a boardwalk. Birds, butterflies and turtles are common. There are also a couple benches for sitting.
Small. Pleasant paved walking trail. Maybe a half mile circle. Half shaded. No toilets or water. A few benches. Maybe 10 parking spots.
I have wanted to make it to this park and was not disappoint. Surprise that there is somewhere like this in the midst of an urban area. There is limited parking. Walking on the path was like walking in a mini forest. There was the sound of birds everywhere. I also heard but didnt see a real loud Woodpecker. I will certainly be back.
It is beautiful. A natural treasure indeed. Its clean with about 9 parking spots. It is not a big trail, will spend about 10 to complete the trail. Its one trail only. Its nice and it definitely takes you away for a moment. Dont rush through and enjoy. It is a paved trail and wheelchair accessible. There isnt any restrooms.
This park is so beautiful. It has a lovely trail that extends around the park and has a couple break areas where you can sit and take a break if youre tired walking. But honestly the walk is so smooth and the scenery is so pleasant that I didnt feel tired once. You can take children of all ages here as it has a safe path already paved and lined with borders ready for you to go. Great place to take a stroll in on a quiet afternoon.
Very serene and peaceful. Short.
Small little park but nice paved walking path mostly all shaded. Nice to do a few laps around.
Nice place to walk and enjoy nature
Awesome but pay attention about Spiders on the path (big spiders possible)
Woodmont Natural Area is a small loop trail through a flat woodland/marsh preserve in Tamarac. This 15 minute paved path has a section of boardwalk and is mostly shaded throughout the day.Highlights were an abundance of butterfly, bird, and bee varieties. Today we saw American Redstarts, Cardinals, Bluejays, Red Bellied Woodpeckers, and other common locals. Viceroy, Sulfur, Zebra wing, and a Ruddy Daggerwing butterflies were busy pollinating the wild coffee. There is an active hive about 1,000 feet in on the left side of the trail with hundreds of busy honey bees minding their business.Drawbacks are that there is no public restroom, the trail markers are mostly sun faded beyond reading, and the trail has some garbage in visible, but inaccessible, parts of the path.
Short but breathtaking.P.S there are snakes; big and long ones.
One employee who worked here DEAD from Covid, another in intensive care from COVID and two others with tests in progress... stay away... county does not care if their employees or patrons get sick... stay away if you value your health
Very nice park, enjoyed it very mich
Great place to go for a run and areas to relax
Plenty of wildlife. Appreciate the solid path that is stroller friendly.
Peaceful Serene Park thank you for leaving nature
Beautiful place sheltered by the tree tops
Very cosy and shadie park. Not a dog park. Its cool
Awesome place loved it
Ok lil pathway in the Woodmont section of Tamarac. In my humble opinion it lacks a water feature
Thought was going to be a bigger area. But over all it fixed my I need some woods needs
Very nice nature area. Needs more security. Last time i walked there, several teens smoking in one of the benches and they had a tree branch blocking the walking path.
Quiet place to encounter with Nature
Well maintained but please get rid of pot head teens
Love the peace.. The wooded area no misquitoes (how ever you spell it) one with nature. Great job done.
Nice short nature walk. Quiet. Limited parking. Original vegetation
Nice parkwith a boardwalk nature trail.
Please dont get rid of this site... The trees are sheltering, the animals are safe, the scenery is beautiful, I love it!
Not a bad little trail.
Amazing!!!! Great place to get away and enjoy a great walk. Highly recommend.
Nice place to go for walks and has lots of birds and other wild life if thats something youre in to
I love the park system... But this is just a waste of tax payer money... Just d.o.a. it and cut your losses.. again i love the park system
Its quiet and wooded, not many people go here. Nice paths for taking a walk. You would never guess you were close to University drive in this relaxing area.
Another south Florida urban park with a big invasive exotic plant problem. Glad the park is here, though.
Awesome pace, clean and quiet during the evening
Small nature trail. Very nice and clean but if you want to really walk and enjoy I suggest finding a bigger trail
Very nice, but the park is very small though.
