And i have lived here 30 years and enjoy it so. And city living us great! I live within 1 to 3 miles of all the other places on this list. Sure, I hike, swim and snowshoe the ADK and the Catskills. But there’s something to be said when you can take a daily 15, 30, 60 min outing right out your front door!
A small, cute park! This park is really nice for walking. There are several walking paths that go around the lower and upper part of the park. There is a nice view of the city of Syracuse from the upper park. There is a large pond in the center of the park. I wouldnt suggest fishing or getting into this water, but it doesnt smell bad and its nice to walk around. There is also a nice gazebo out over the water. On one side of the park there is a playground, and theres also a public pool. I cant speak to the pool or bathhouses though.I would not suggest going to this park after dark though due to its proximity to certain parts of the city. Its okay to visit during the day though.
Beautiful yellow leaves in early November. Great place for family photos.
Beautiful. Tennis courts, play ground, Picnic areas. Great view of the city and big enough to run
I was there for a photos shoot, so needed nice backgrounds and a lack of garbage. The park delivered. Love the fountains, bridge and gazebo.
Such a beautiful view of the city! The mountain goat monument is perfect, and a walk around the lake is delightful.
Decent place to go if you are in the city and are close. Its pretty well kept and not too busy. The water is pretty dirty though and not all that desirable to be near. Other than that a nice place to take a walk
Very nice park, the water is gorgeous and great scenery. But on the other hand to get there we had to walk through one of the most sketchy towns Ive ever walked in. We thought for sure we were going to get jumped.
I just love how beautiful the scenery is and its a walkable Park family friendly and pet friendly
Family friendly place. People walking around with their spouses and dogs. Children playing on the playground.
It is a gorgeous place to take pictures or just have a nice day at the park
Beautiful park. Nice little lake. Good for family cookouts and walking your dog.
Spectacular panoramic views of the city, beautiful park
Beautiful park I never knew about a hidden gem in Syracuse it would be cool to rent a paddle boat here js
Very nice park with a pond that adds to the atmosphere.
Great park in the middle of the city. A great view of the city and University from round top. Needs maintenance around the lake, but a wonderful place to take the kids for fresh air.
This park is beautiful! There is a great view of the city from the top. There is a small pavilion on the lake, a few walking paths, tennis courts, a playground, and public pool in the summer. There were several bees on the playground when we went... And, every time Ive been the bathrooms are locked. Just a warning!
Serene, excersise, clean park. They have space for events.
Love the area. The water is really peaceful.
I can see this used to be a great park but has hit a rough patch. The pond is low and is not attractive as a result and even has signs warning of algae ruining the view from the benches. The infrastructure is falling apart and there is construction ruining the feel. There are few places to legally park which is ridiculous given the size of the road through it.The pool looks nice and the sunset is good but I wouldnt come back until it is taken care of again.
Best park in town, walk around and find out.
Beautiful scenery, nice quiet place to sit by the water & contemplate....
Definitely needs major improvements
My brothers wedding
Its a beautiful place to take in Gods handiwork!
Higher Onondaga is a peaceful serenity in the morning when the sun is rising

A nice little hidden Gem in Syracuse.
I have been a fan of Onondaga Park for decades. It is a beautiful green space in the city. Great for long walks, jogginfg, cycling, playing ball or just relaxing. Kids can also fish. The gazebo is a great place for photos. It is also a great place for live music.Syracuse is blessed with some truly wonderful parks.
Its beautiful, calming, nice play too take the family, kids, just too relax. Theres a pool and park behind the brown building. And you can fish in the lake as well but you have too throw the fish back
The park is nice and quiet, great scenery and a good place for walking day or night
Beautiful scenery. A very relaxing place. Weve had grilled here many times though the years. Great family memories here.
Looks like a nice park. Will go back in the summer so we can go in the gazebo.

A lot of hidden charms. Look around; investigate.
Ran the Strathmore 4-miler. It was hot. Beautiful park.
A very scenic park in the Strathmore neighborhood. Has a public pool in the summer and pavillions/grills for get togethers.
One of the nicest parks in the area. Well when I grew up near there and Tipp Hill. There’s picnic areas pavilion in the lake and swimming pool and basketball courts.
Serene setting
Beautiful park. We did planting trees with some of our girl scout troop and went back for our bridging ceremony. Its spacious and the kids really loved it! Were hoping to spend more time here this summer.
What a beautiful place it is very clean groundsperson came by wanted to know if you needed any extra trash bags just a beautiful place
Gorgeous park hidden inside the Strathmore neighborhood.
Beautiful and well-maintained place to contemplate things.
This park has a lot of Tranquility the gazebo on a nice breezy day you can sit up there and just meditate feel nature all around you
Romantic scenery
Incredibly picturesque any time of year
The park is very nice!! but can get overcrowded. Not the parks fault but representatives of the city should find a way to preserve more land in the inner city and expand our parks. Maybr invest more into actvities and events at the park, possibly even assist other more in their attempts to invest into eventz at the park but its not the citys fault its its he make america great again guy and the 40 somthing guys before him . Yeah great park
Beautiful park ! Swimming pool, picnic area walking/ bike path .nice little lake . tennis courts !
Great view.. romantic even..
Clean park for the most most part dont get in the water nor the pool only at you oun risk
Great for kids. Good bike trail. Clean too.
Wish the play structure were a little newer and there were baby swings but the kids still had fun.
Kinda cold
My favorite park in Syracuse
My favorite park in Syracuse. Great view and quiet place if you just want to sit in car look at view or go swimming in the pool or even go on there big wooden gazebo over looking pond. Also a playground, walking trail, basketball court... Big park.. Absolutely love
It was good but a lot of insects the city has to spray and clean around the lake.
Beautiful view of the city.
Great place to take the whole family
Still really wet right now, But I bet its a nice park in the summer!
A beautiful park from the glory days of Syracuse!
I planted an evergreen tree next to the basketball court, plus other trees
Nice place but very confusing for put of towners on how to get to our pavilion.

This is upper Onondaga Park, not that lower Park! Get your green on or maybe snow on depending on when you visit it, have a great day!
Great for parties, picnics, swimming, family fun.
Beautiful oasis in the city!
My favorite place i really liked
Nice place to take a long walk
Beautiful park and a nice environment.
Gorgeous public park located in the Historic Strathmore Neighborhood. Paths and paved area for biking, skating. Large playground areas, pool and many spaces for picnics throughout. Park layout is centered around Hiawatha Lake, a man made lake that was once the city’s water supply.
Pretty park, gazebo is a great place for photos and bird watching. If fishing is up your alley, it would be a great place to take the kids.
We always ride through the park when were not walking through. I saw a lot of teens on the swings a posed to children.
The best place in onondoga
The place is amazing for a walk, really nice area.
Decent park to walk through, or walk your dogs around. They try and keep it for the most part clean which is nice.
Pretty park location has gone down tho with the crime issues in the Southside area.
Beautiful scenery.
One of my favorite parks in Syracuse. Safe and beautiful. Theres a small lake, lots of walking paths, a big playground, pavilion and picnic tables and gorgeous views.
Nostalgia in the air! Woot woot!
One of the most beautiful places to be in Syracuse they have the most amazing view and many things to offer from different sports courts huge swimming pool a few playgrounds and a great walking trail with a beautiful lake at the top
I grew up playing in this park
Beautiful first time I ever saw this park
