If you can find it its worth visiting. Tons of trails to navigate. Youll want to wear decent footwear. Dont wear flip flops. Parking is VERY limited and mountain biking is very popular here. There did seem to be a lot of broken glass. Avoid going in spring time as it is a soggy mess with some parts overflowing with water. There are literally miles of trails.

Its a great place to walk your dogs although there is a rocky part of the trail which is a bit rough.Addendum..went recently and there were a lot of beer cans all over but the worst was finding a used condom and wrapper by that tree they sawed in half on the trail. Its too bad as its real close by but wont be going back

This is a great hidden gem. It is like a state park right in the city. Springs and waterfalls, lots of meandering trails.

Small parking lot allows access to the split rock quarry. Fairly private primitive for its location. We use this park to get to the rock crusher.

I ran across this little area by chance and decided to give it a shot as I know these off the grid spots can be hidden gems. This place is not one of them. Its basically a place for local teenagers to get drunk and screaming glass and shotgun shells litter the ground, which is mostly all rocks. I gave it a 2 because the birdsongs are nice to listen to. That being said, this is my first and only trip here.

Not really a park anymore. Back in the 40s or 50s it used to be an archery golf park. Now its part of the Split Rock green-space. A combination of private, state and county land that has been undeveloped since the DOT pulled out and the slaughter house closed in the late 70s.
