Because its Beautiful and a quite place to think when you need to clear your head. Also a good place to catch up on school work without all the noise.

Awesome park!

The city has cleaned up lower Onondaga park. The sprinkler area has been increased to a very nice size. I was very impressed. They have closed off road access to one of the entrances. Its now a walking trail to the park.

This is a long track of paved road (not open to vehicles) and a paved path alongside Onondaga Lake. Its frequented by many, including me. Its an awesome place to walk. I am joined by runners, people on bikes, rollerbladers. Its so much better and safer than walking along a road. You are right next to the water! They also rent bikes and these cool 4-6 person and round 6/8 person bikes. People look like they are having a lot of fun on those. Not only is there the area to walk/run/bike/skate, they have a skateboard park and a huge playground for the kids. In the winter they host Lights on the Lake - a hugely popular Christmas light display. We are so lucky to have a park like this right near us!

We spent a long weekend with our grandchildren ages 7 and 11 in Syracuse and were delighted to spend part of it at Onondaga Lake. While it appears not to be a good swimming spot it certainly makes up for this in having very creative activities on its shores. The Salt Museum, though very small, gives kids a chance to see a film on salt production in the area and has remnants of the brine pots and models of the manufacture of salt. Our kids were delighted to see salt in its raw form and to see the fire pits which heated the pots. A visit to a reproduction early colonial village at Sainte Marie was instructive with carpenters shop, early kitchen and museum. Seeing table construction from beginning to end was an eye-opener for our younger grandchild.

A little bit of fun for everyone! Whatever you like to do you may find it to do here! Fishing, skating, biking, playground, volleyball, baseball, a nice stroll.

Beautiful Park in a nice neighborhood. Plenty of space to walk your dogs and go for a run. Also, it is family friendly with a childs playground and pool (open in the summer)

Nice park, many drivable roads which is a plus both for getting to places in the park as well as generally entering and exiting. I went on a nice October day and basically had the place to myself.

Grew up nearby, biased and cant give anything but 5/5. A ton of beautiful places to take photos.

I didnt visit the park. It was suggested to me in a text on Friday to visit today(Sunday).

Seems like this was once an amazing park, but road closures and confusing direction made our visit less than ideal.
