This is a great little park! I like that its connected to the Greenway trail and is located right in the middle of it. There are often waterfowl present here and there are a few benches to sit and watch. Just dont feed the animals, its bad for them. Instead, sit and enjoy the sounds and sights available in this little garden oasis. I would say to enjoy the smells too, but I have Covid and smell anything...
Beautiful park for a nature walk. Plenty of birds to view as well as rocky bluffs and even a cave can be found here!
Great place. We took family photos here. They were amazing! Load of fun hiking.
Well maintained with great access, paved paths, and walking trails. Clean and fully functional rest rooms. Good parking & well scattered bench seating. With its caves (closed), spring, waterway, and rock formation, this park is a hidden jewel of the Spri field Park System.
Not as great of a place as it used to be now. Its normally pretty crowded anymore. There were lots of dark corners in the evening when I went. Still a fun place to explore. The cave is pretty unique.
Always love going to this park! Theres a good walking path and plenty of trails on the hill behind the pond. Playground equipment and the pavilion are both useful and well maintained.
I love this park and all the changes in the past 40 years I have been going there. The only thing I dont like is that people walk in the water right before the cave which could ruin some animals habitat. Also the liter bugs. I try to do my part and pick it up. Hope to enjoy 40 more years.
Lovely area, only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was how many people were there - felt a little busy. The trail that goes by the park is great too. I would consider this agreat amenuty if moving to surrounding neighborhoods and worth the drive even if it isnt all that close.
Gorgeous scenery. Love taking photos. Would recommend to anyone who loves nature
Wonderful park!! Great trails, great scenery, cool little caves but it is very popular and very crowded. If you find a good free space to to settle in it is a wonderful urban outdoor experience.
This park is well maintained, friendly to animals (dont forget your potty bags), and has paths that are easy to follow for folks of all walks of life--jogging, biking, pushing a stroller, or taking in lovely scenery by stroll.
Nice place to spend an afternoon. But people should watch their kids! There are signs with warnings as to certain paths. And the caves are closed right now. Saw one kid almost take a tumble down a steep ledge by running on a path composed of rock ledges. He fell, and hit his head. It could have been a tragic event! Saw other young kids disregard all signs on the caves.
It was clean but the bar music went on till 230 am the internet that is needed to watch TV did not work for about 5 of the 10 hours we were there. My shower was good but even after waiting a few my wifes shower went from hot to cold and back several times. Oh the TV remote did not work at all. We were told when we checked in that if we had any problems we would have to go to the bar and find someone to take care of it because no one would be in the office. When we checked out no one was in the office to turn the key in so we left it in the room. Most likely will not return. This was a spur of the moment trip and a good reminder why you take the time to plan.
Great place to go for a walk or small hike, and the playgrounds and trails are kept very clean and nice looking
Not bad, the cave dragons have been awful quiet lately which is never a good sign but the shiny lady with the sword who lives in the lake always has some good advice for my youngest on how to rule with justice and dignity so thats cool. Minus one star for all the goose poop.
Its peaceful even if there is a crowd. Plus a couple places to eat close by. And a nice hiking trail.
Great place to take the kids to play, trails on the other side of the pond are great for kids
It is hard to believe such a scenic place is there within the city. It is literally a valley by a hilly forest with a small dame/lake and a small waterfall. The park has its own ecosystem in the lake which is beautiful with many swan and waterfowl swimming around. There is a two mile bike route piercing across the park forest. There are caves and water hikes. There is also a small childrens playground in the middle. We loved this park. It is not a very big park but it is enough for a short stroll within the city limits.
Its got swings, water, ducks, geese, trails and slides, scenery (for both men and women), and its outside where there are other people.
Wonderful trails for biking! Very clean. Its good to see families hanging out together where one does not have to wear a mask.
Park opens at 5 a.m. so I got there at 5:02.it was very dark and I wondered if there were homeless people sleeping underneath the bridges and in the cave. I took my tactical flashlight and taser with me just in case I would be confronted by a highwayman looking to take my belongings. Well well no no homeless people sleeping underneath the bridge. The place was beautiful, I got some incredible photos.
Such a fun place! Very kid friendly and really enjoyed the surrounding natural landscape. Very nice park.
Awesome park. Great for kids to just run around and have fun. Trails are awesome too. Very shaded.
My favorite little park in Missouri, this is the kind of place that gave Springfield its name.
My granddaughters favorite park. We love the trails and the pond and the cave and the paths.
My favorite part about this park is the waterfowl. There are a few gaggles of Canadian geese and some domesticated geese, along with the occasional Mallard ducks. Theyre adorable but of course you cant feed them. This park has a nice little river leading into the lake and a trail in the forested area that runs along the lake. The trail is by no means level. I do noticed people jogging, bicycling and waking their dogs along the paved path area.
Nice serenity peaceful place to hangout.
Place was pretty cool we took a bunch of pictures really pretty this time of year. Place to be a whole lot cooler if you can fish for them big old bass thats in that pond!!
My son and I had a wonderful time yesterday at the park. Very relaxing. We enjoyed wading in the stream and watching the ducks play in the stream.
Amazing placeLots of walk trails, has pavilions, big play sets and 3 caves!
Beautiful Park. Great place to take your family.
I had heard of a park with a cave but didnt know what one until I stumbled upon this one and there it was. Such a beautiful park. The cave is not to far a walk from parking and there are smaller ones to explore right by the big one with the spring. It is fun to see the birds fly in and out and knoe they have nests in there more then likely. I bet there are bars that fly out of there about sunset too. There are some beautiful paved trails that would take you miles in either direction if you want to add a fun walk. There is also play equipment and water for little ones to play in a small creek too
Awesome gray bat population is in high action at dusk during the summer months. Go kick it by the cave to experience the spectacle! They wont hit you I promise.
Maybe the best park in Springfield. It has caves, (which are currently off limits because of ecological damage to the bat population), woodland trails, geese and ducks, a pond and creek, a childrens playground, and the Greenway Trails runs right through it.
Nice trails, top rating until I can go back to explore more.
Has a wonderful park for children to play! lots of geese, ducks, and birds around. Lots of hiking trails for the adrenaline junkie, or take it easy down the paths leading around the pond while checking out more of the wild life. Was impressed with grilling areas, picnic tables, and the rest rooms cleaned and easy to access.
Its very small.. private property surrounds it so no off leash for dogs
I highly reccomend.Ive been going here since I was a kid. Its an awesome place to spend some time. Its got a pond and some ducks, as well as some really nice trails, both paved and gravel. Heck, its even got some big rocks, which are awesome for kids to climb around on. If thats a little too unsafe though, then there is an actuall playground with slides and such.
Nice little coffee shop. Would return. Could be a little more upscale but its an option besides the standard S coffee shop.
Always a great place to walk. Or take a hike in the woods.
I grew up near here & it looks good ! Pretty clean!
This place never dissapoints! Good hiking trails for all levels. Has big pavilion for get togethers or a wedding! Caves and rocks to explore and a playground for the kiddos. There is also a beautiful pond with some beautiful bridges.
Good trails with benches for resting along the way.
The trails were fun after dark lol
I love this park because it is big enough for a lot of guests and you can still maintain your distance. Lots of trails etc.
Nice park. And a nice walking trail
I love this park! I went there today and got these beautiful pictures! They have nice little walking trails, a playground And a cave that they do boat tours of. Ive never been on one but saw it advertised. Theyre also pet friendly as long as your animals leashed. Its a very fun place to go if you enjoy being outside!
Love riding my bike on trails thru this beautiful park!!
I live in the Galloway area and get to walk to Sequiota Park with my dog multiple times a week, beautiful area, we love the spring fed creek you can walk along
One of my familys favorite spots. Encourage everyone to at least give this park a try.
Its a beautiful park with nice walking trails and gorgeous pond with geese and ducks. I guess they dont want to detract from the natural beauty of park, but I would like to see a small basketball play area there and add a few more benches and trash cans, especially around the playground areas. It is a really lovely park in the middle of the city that makes you feel like you arent in the city at all.
Nice park. Caves are closed. Good trails.
Awesome place to bring kids, relax, walk, talk, clear your mind, water shoes a definite must of your gonna get in the stream.
Such a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends just to sit down and relax. Love the sound of the water, the scenery and the vibes:)
Such a great park to take your dogs to! We had a blast. Lots of shade areas too for hot days.
Its a great place to be with your family. You can experience firts hand the wonders of every season.
Such a well taken care park and wildlife area. Ive spent many a day on these trails also. Its great choice
Havent been here in years. Missed hiking around the pond and climbing up the trails. Definitely will be coming back more often.
The park is clean the people are friendly and courteous out there. The run trail is busy but a eyesore, if you like looking around while you run.
Very nice park we enjoy visiting every year. Nice area for walking ride bicycles. They also have a play area for the children. Its a very beautiful park to visit during the fall season.
Great place to come n just chill d brought my 4yr old n 6mo. old daughters n we had fun for over 3 hrs. only complaint was that there are no walking paths to get to the park! we had to walk in the street to even get here, no bueno! the park is awesome tho
Wonderful place for families to go with ample room for the kiddos to run and play on two separate playground areas, and also the Greenways trails run literally right through it. Easily can spend 2-3 hours exploring and running in Sequiota. Also quite a few shady areas with picnic tables or benches to get a bit of a respite when its extra hot!
Really cool to find a cave that isnt controlled by a business!
Great little city park with a cave, waterfall, and hiking trail! Oh yeah DUCKS!!
Good place idk about the trails but I love coming here to adventure and explore good for familys dont be a weirdo and lets keep it clean if we all do our part the work is little.
I enjoyed the small trails on the far side of the lake as well as biking the paved green way ones that connect to the park. Dog friendly I dont know about without a leash, kid friendly with a few play sets, beautiful views around sunset, or sunrise, few sitting areas, one or two areas with a roof over with benches under, nice place for a young childs birthday. The bathroom is good for a park restroom, the only building at the park, but it isnt pretty to look at.
I love this beautiful park! Great place to walk the dog and watch the geese!
Favorite place to walk and take my cat to. Cool caves too
Great, calm park in the middle of Springfield. Lots of shade, cool breeze, clean OPEN public restrooms.
Great place. Lots to see for the little hidden gem in Springfield. A few trails and a cave. Water and picnicking
Its a nice little park near the Galloway Creek Greenway Trail. Lots of interesting areas to explore for all ages.
Gorgeous park with water, a small cave, and plenty of space to enjoy
Kids love wading in the water...walking the trail and looking at ducks n geese! I use to go here as a kid and now take my kids.
Beautiful park, nice playgrounds and paths ️
Excellent little walking park around a wetlands with a variety of birds to watch and hidden uphill paths if that suits you. Dont miss the brewery up the street either!
A great little park with nice hiking trails .
Beautiful! Great balance of natural formations and park planning.
Super family friendly location with paved trails and places to explore and play!
Its great for sitting by the water enjoying the sounds and sights. Great place to walk. Great date place for a walk. Ive seen a used condom on the far side of the pond so maybe dont go back there at night.
This is a really fun park for little ones, but also has some unique features that make it worth a visit over other patks. There is a creek that runs through the parks entrance with ducks and lots of geese, and some nearby rock walls border the parks opposite end. This alone would have provided a cool outdoor experience, but the park also features good quality and well maintained playground equipment.I would definitely recommend this beautiful park.
Always pretty, parks are well maintained, and the restrooms are usually clean for a park!
Great park to walk around. Lots of ducks and geese in the water.
Long road trip and this was the perfect stop for two-year-old to run and play.
There is usually a lot of people here when I go . Love to sit and watch the geese and ducks. It is very well kept up. Nice place to go for a walk and a picnic. The cave area is very interesting and well. Great place to take the family.
Not many places like this that ate so open to the public.
Wonderful place. Had no idea it was even there.
Nice park, with a nice lake and tables, dog friendly. Very nice place to go and walk on trails and just to enjoy a peaceful day!
Beautiful place. Wonderful Outdoor Experience. Lots of parking and things to explore.
This is a favorite spot. Good place to get some exercise and let the kids play.
Love hiking !! The caves are closed unless you have a permit but I love to hike and I love this place
Beautiful place I took my baby on a walk I loved the waterfall and the geese are so pretty!
Lovely park and trails to walk and/or picnic.
