Military gets in for free. Children 3 and older are $13 per ticket. This grants to access to 5 museums! They have a fine arts, dinosaur, Dr Seuss, and history museum. Forgive me I dont know the 5th one as I didnt go into it. Dr Seuss is great for the children. The history is great for the kids as well. They have interactive exhibits for the children and motorcycles, cars, and guns for the adults. Its a great value for the family.
What a wonderful day experiencing several museums in Springfield. Dr Suess, Art, Natural Science, Indian Motorcycles and Springfield history. Also, nice Cafe for a lunch break...buy tickets online and use one ticket for all museums. Social distancing, masks...all safe.
Great place to visit! Lots to see and learn. The Dr Seuss museum is great, but the bathrooms smell absolutely horrible. It was so bad I didnt want to use it. Also with all the germs around there needs to be some true cleaning going on in the bathroom and in the museum. Other than that the adventure is fun for the families. Loved seeing all the history and art. Didnt get to see the science museum so we will be back to check that part out. Definitely a go to places for Western Massachusetts residence.
Wonderful experience young or old.Dr Seuss and his characters are brought to life and you can make your own story.
This is a great museum it has art vehicles and a lot of historical artifacts. I learn so much about history, animals, and a lot more when I come here. I highly recommend coming here. Oh almost forgot about the Dr Seuss museum. This museum is so much fun it has toys for the kids to play on, it has crafts in the basement. It has all sorts of stuff to teach you about this beloved writers life. Again highly recommend coming here.
Dr. Seuss museum is phenomenal. Great collection of fine arts. Really cool rock collection in the science museum. An all around great day at the museums.
What a delightful, intelligent, bucolic location. I cant recommend enough, coming here as an individual, a family or a larger tour group, there is something for everyone of every age and of every interest. You could take a day or two or three to try to see everything. It all depends on you and whats your goal is. Some of the exhibits are Hands-On and you could spend an hour or two without even leaving a single room. Or you can stroll through the galleries and enjoy wonderful artworks. Take a walk down history Lane, bring the children go see some natural history and learn about New England Woods, or the dinosaurs, are the great flying machines. No trip for the young and old would be complete without visiting the great Dr. Seuss area. For the Young and the young at heart create new memories or bring up old memories that you will enjoy their wonderful place to be. they have a nice cafe can be located in the center of all the activities along with a wonderful outdoor Central Park which feature some Dr. Seuss bronze statues as well. Easy access handicap friendly in many places. Well worth the price of admission. If my review helped you please give it a thumbs up. Enjoy your visit.
An amazing set of museums and worth an entire day to see. The art museums are great. Dr. Suess exhibit and garden are outstanding and the History museum is fantastic.
Went for the Dr. SUESS EXHIBIT. It was definitely cute and had a lot of informatiom
So much to see. Me and my 6 year old daughter were there today for 2-3 hours and didn’t even visit all the museums. She loved all the exhibits with the dinosaur sculptures and live reptiles. Free for Springfield residents and only $3 if you have an EBT card. Highly recommended.
There are 5 museums and some were surprisingly good. The city of Springfield museum was the best. The city has a rich history: Indian motorcycles, Smith and Wesson, as well as some early automobiles. The Dr. Seuss museum is also very good, and not just for kids. The city obviously played a large roll in his youth and is prevalent in his work.
Dr Seuss has become the attraction here, but I want to remind adults visiting without children that this is a terrific museum complex. The DAmour Museum of Fine Arts is neither large nor encyclopedic, but has more than enough to merit a lengthy visit, including some very fine things--a nearly monumental Chardin still life, a bright Monet haystack among other Impressionist works, an impressive Bol self-portrait, a dynamic Sargent landscape--as well as what must be the worlds biggest collection of paintings by the oddly compelling visionary Erastus Salisbury Field. The lovely Smith Art Museum across the quad houses a Japanese collection assembled more than a century ago and seemingly frozen in time, as well as substantial Middle Eastern holdings including some magnificent carpets, along with a roomful of 19th century American paintings. And if you loved dioramas in your childhood, there must be twenty or more of them in the Science Museum!
Great place for adults and kids, so much great stuff to see all around here.
Nice outing for a rainy day. Kids loved the exhibits and the staff was very nice. Very good social distancing protocols.
It was awesome! The super hero exhibit was really cool. Gotta being my grand kids before its gone.
5 museums for 1 price!!! Which museum was unique and special. We only had the chance to visit Three museums, because we spent so much time studying the exhibit in each one. We cannot wait to go back and visit the Doctor Seuss Museum again, and visit the two we were unable to see! it was a miserable rainy day, but we still had a chance to enjoy a little bit of the garden and hope to visit on a sunny day so we can explore a little more. Definitely a worthwhile family road trip!
As a whole, the grouping of museums is a great way to spend the day with the family checking out a variety of different exhibits in numerous forms. I loved the art museum and the history museums the best, but the science museum was lackluster and the Dr. Suess museum had a four hour wait to get in, so we bypassed that particular museum. Hats off to the city of Springfield for putting together such an engaging and whimsical series of museums assured to captivate every member of the family.
An absolute must for curious minds. My littlest loved the dinosaurs and live fish!! Biggest was enamoured with the native Americans and African animals. I was a proud momma!
Great place to visit with the whole family. 4 museums plus a sculpture garden for one entry fee. 2 fine art museums, a science/natural history museum, and the amazing World of Dr. Seuss museum & sculpture garden. Something for everyone to enjoy and lots of hands on or interactive displays. Countless selfie & photography opportunities.
I love these museums! They are definitely my favourite places to go. They have so many beautiful and historical things. I think some of the science museums could be updated a little but its still very fun to see everything. Definitely family friendly and one if the best places in the area! If you are traveling and come near Springfield go to these museums!
The Science museum was not as hands-on as I would have liked. There were lots of buttons to push to hear animal noises, but not as many interactive exhibits. It was more like a natural history museum with many animal habitat dioramas. We did not visit any of the art museums during this visit. Toytopia was by far our favorite exhibit at the Springfield History Museum. Very interactive and nostalgic.
Great place lots to see and do you have to get there early to see very thing in museums
Delightful way to spend an afternoon! Kids will enjoy everything the museums have to offer, especially going through the Dr. Seuss Museum. Well worth the admission price.
A wonderful collection museums, something for everyone, the Dr. Seuss museum is amazing for kids as is the science. The Springfield museum has an awesome collection of cars, motor cycles and other local stuff, very interesting.
I grew up hanging out around these museums a long, long time ago. They have gotten better. Much better. I particularly like the Museum of Springfield History, with its long historic look back at the Valleys contributions. If you havent, you need to visit. Soon. Growing up near Duryea and Stevens Streets, I knew something of the areas automotive history. And, of course, everyone knew Indian motorcycles. But what of John Brown? Visit. Soon.
One price and you can visit the five museums. I loved the Dr Seus part of the museum. There are statues on the grounds of characters from his books
Great set of museums the entire family enjoys! Every museum has something for both adults, and interactive play for the children (including the art museums). Our 2 girls (ages 5 and 3) enjoyed visiting each museum, and especially the Dr. Seuss museum.
Love the museum’s. You can paid a small sum and see all 5 of them.
You pay $25 and get to tour all of the museums (so worth the money). So much to see and take in. I enjoyed my day and highly recommend visiting if ever youre in the Springfield area.
Lots of great exhibits. We went for the Dr. Seuss exhibit and it was amazing and fun. They did a great job capturing the essence of who Dr. Seuss was and his many stories. The interactive exhibits were great and the statues were so well done. We explored the rest of the museum as well and it is a worth visiting.
Wonderful trip down memory lane with my adult daughter; Interesting artifacts.
Very Cool Taxidermy Work.Very good animal displays. Nice layouts and excellent story boards. Its geared mostly for kids but is still worth a visit as a traveling soloist.
Its an amazing place to spend time with family. You and your family are able to learn a lot. There are more than one meusem it could take you all day to go to all of them.
I took pictures of a very small portion of this museum. There is so much to see and I encourage you to visit. There is something for every age and culture and you will enjoy your time.
Lots of museums in a small area, great places check out, art museums are surprisingly well done for such a small museums. The natural history museum could use a little sprucing up, but for the price, great place to visit for an afternoon.
Great way to spend a day! There are five different museums to choose from and the collection is gigantic! There is an onsite deli with delicious sandwiches!
Great place for the family. Multiple Museums to visit all in the same place.
Very nice and very interesting
Had a fabulous date! Cant wait to go back. Didnt have much time the day we went so didnt see enough. Plan to spend the day. Came years ago with my young son and was just as fun.
Awesome space ...5 museumsI took my kid on his birthday.... and he enjoy the whole day spending there
Small bit interesting. Personally I enjoy Indian motorcycle museum the most. If you are motorcycle fan and pass by do visit.
Very fun time lots of cool exhibits and history to learn
Great museums all in one area, stuff for the kids, stuff for adults. What a great day we had as a family.
The Springfield Museums are located right in the middle of downtown Springfield. My personal favorite is the Dr. Seuss museum. The prices were fairly reasonable. I definitely plan on coming back again.
Great place to gather with family and friends.
Travelers, this is a great place to walk around and enjoy the art work. The collections are wonderful. I enjoy the Currier and Ives exhibit but there are many. The Dr Seuss garden is a great place for kids. This is a jewel in Springfield. We recommend.
Wonderful museum! Highly recommend!!!
I only had time for the Dr. Seuss museum and it was lovely and sweet and well kept. I’ve been in so many child-friendly, touch and play museums and they’ve kept this one looking good. I was disappointed with the Seuss offerings in the shop because I would’ve loved a unique Seuss item that could have only been found there.
I love the Springfield Museums. Ive visited many times and have always had an enjoyable experience with my kids. They love seeing the fish and huge T-rex! They are constantly changing their exhibits so there is always something new and exciting to see! Its easy to end up here for 2+ hours! They have a lot of hands-on activities for everyone. And the Dr. Seuss sculptures are just amazing. And its FREE to Springfield residents so what are you waiting for?!
My family loves the Springfield museums! Theres so much to do for every age range! We always have a blast!
My kids really enjoy the museums. I appreciate the fact that each museum has at least a small section catering to kids, and as a resident of Springfield I appreciate the added benefit of Free admission.
Loved the one price for all....
Great museums for people of all ages
I learned quite a bit about Dr. Seuss. There is plenty to do for young and old alike. The price of admission gets you into all five museums on the campus! Great value for the money.
The Dr. Seuss museum was very interactive for children and interesting for parents. I enjoyed several of the museums.
Dr. Seuss Museum was amazing. The others were good, too and a great experience.
Nice for a family outing. Free for Springfield residents. Fun for kids
These are great little museums if you have young kids. They recently seem to be expanding their outreach and programs catering to all ages. I have been a few times and highly recommend the Dr. Seuss museum. The Natural history museum is a little dated but the stuffed animal exhibits are well done and highly informational
An outstanding museum of Springfield history. Well presented and covers the growth and development of the city. Interesting to everyone but the accuracy of the changes, at least in my lifetime, are meaningful and accurate. Well worth the price of admission.
Im Amazed, and had a peaceful evening. I recommend family and children to visit and have a fun time out in town at our museum
Its something to do.
The museum collections are decent, especially that in the aquarium, the live animals are kept well and clean. Unfortunately the information is incorrect on several of the self-guide science exhibits. Most of the staff is not very friendly, and the childrens activities are usually disappointing as they are rarely as exciting or as creative as they are advertised.
Loved the separate buildings and the hands-on learning in the science museum. Great place to bring kids! Friendly staff, interesting displays.
I only went to the Seuss museum, but had a blast with my kids. Great for fans young and old of his work!
We used a pass from a library to get in for free and I think we would have paid around $65 for 2 adults and 1 child. So I highly recommend checking with your local library. Overall it was a good rainy day getaway for kids. The Science museum had a Clifford the Red Dog exhibit with lots of things to do and the dinosaur exhibits were great. We even got to watch them feed the live piranhas on the lower level thanks to a very nice staff person who gave us the heads up an hour before they announced it! My husband loved the motorcycles at the History museum & our daughter liked the Hasbro/ Milton Bradley room. The Dr. Seuss museum was great and she ran around to play with every item and by the Fine Art museum she was tired out! The Cafe food was overpriced as they are at these places... Overall worth the visit, every staff member we met was friendly, it was very clean, there was something for everyone and our daughter wanted to go again!
Most amazing statues.
A nice set of museums. More geared for younger kids, otherwise the exhibits are easily to walk through and youre done with all the museums in 2 hours. Nothing has really changed much over the last decade except for the play areas and Dr. Seuss areas. Still, for a first time visit its a good time.
A trip back to childhood....a relaxing place to unwind.
Great place for a family day trip.
Same sight as Dr Seuss museum. So many things to see in one setting. Great family day with something for everyone
Definitely more than one day of fun and learning here. Amazing staff too.
Have so much fun with my daughter! Great place to spend some times with the kids.
Learning experience to all ages....Ready to visit again loved.
The museum was closed but it was wonderful wandering around the Dr Seuss sculptures.
Great variety of exhibits! A few are incredibly kid friendly and well be back to see the others when theyre older!
Great place to visit! Family friendly. Lots of interactive exhibits as well as interesting traveling exhibits. 5 museums in one place! They also offer enriching lectures and classes for adults.
Very good place to visit !
Its a awesome experience every time I take my kids they have a good time
Love the History and Science Musuem
Great first time
Wish we had more time to spend here. Lots of great exhibits.
Excellent we will be coming again
We live in Newton MA and went out to the Springfield Museums with friends from Japan on an academic visit, to see a famous Japanese doll that is stored there (Miss Oita). The doll was part of a large number that were sent to the USA by Japan in the 1920s, as part of a friendship exchange. The doll was exquisite, but we were equally impressed by the Springfield Museums complex itself, which includes the Dr Seuss Museum. Well worth a trip out from Boston! We will be returning soon to spend even more time there and see everythng they have to offer.
An interesting collection of museums which can be either family fun or something more sophisticated although it may be tough for the the 2 to meet in the middle. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Dr Seuss and Natural History museums along with the candy exhibit.
I just love visiting! Every time I come I discover new things and learn interesting facts. You can spend a literal day here, and it has something for everyone!
Really fun for the kids. They loved the Dr Seuss museum!
Great museum! Kept my 3 year olds attention! Lots of great exhibits!
Amazing place for kids to enjoy and have fun because the place was child-friendly but staffs were so rude and not accommodating and the entrance fee was a bi high.
Awesome place if you have bank of America the first weekend you can go free
Science museum Amazing spot to bring the kids so much to see and do!
Several buildings with their own themes. The ladies selling admission were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the museum setup. They recognized it was our first time there and gave us tips. We only went to 3 museums, the art museum with the sculptures was our fav as well as the Japanese history room.
Dr. Susse museum was amazing
What a great way to spend a day in Springfield. There was so much to see.
It was very nice and interesting! Great for children and adults.
Love the Springfield museum. You would definitely not expect such a great collection in Springfield.
Dr Seuss is a great exhibit for kids, other museums are good too, a little expensive if you are not local.
Great place to bring kids, the amazing world of Dr Seuss and the gaming zone in the history museums is one of my favorite, art, science, sculpture garden lot to see, Cafe and museum shop is there for food n shopping. Overall wonderful place to spend a day.
