Went here end of June. Love the butterfly palace. Gardens were good. Now very many flowers blooming. Hot and dry.
Very nice peaceful park. Pretty every where! Would go again.
Very nice, lots of walking paths and variety of flowers, trees and shrubs.
The gardens are well-maintained by passionate folks (mostly volunteers) who take pride in their work. Ride-along tours, which are free, available when the weather is nice are always a great chance to learn new information about the gardens and the park in general. Many different types of gardens are represented within the park, as well as the notable Dr. Bill Rolston Native Butterfly House. Great public space.
The Butterflys and garden ground are so peaceful and fun. a beautiful place to take the kids. I will visit everytime I come back to Springfield. thanks for sharing this spot with me Miss Dana-my garden guide and cousin.
Exceptional grounds, variety of beds well marked so you can explore and learn more about flowers/plants gardening or just enjoy the ground with nearby playground for the kids and indoor wheelchair accessible restrooms gift shop and conference room. Esp love that restrooms have baby changing table. Very nice facilities.
A beautiful park wirh lots of features
Awesome place with no entrance fees. Do not miss walking around the Spillway and around Lake Drummond on the south side of the gardens. The view of the spillway from the bridge across the lake is beautiful. This is an unusual spot where three modes of travel are on top of each other at one point - First the South Creek Bike trail is right next to the creek, Then there is a road on top of the bike trail, and then a train track on top of the road. The Butterfly House is another interesting place to stop by. The Mizumoto Japanese Garden is a part of the Botanical Gardens and has the best views; but there is a nominal fee of $4.00 for that garden. Additionally, the Gary Campbell Farmstead next to the Japanese Garden was open for public on the Sunday I visited, though not all buildings were open.
This is a wonderful place to see beautiful gardens, talk a walk, and be a part of festivals such as the Sister Cities Cherry Blossom Kite and Pinata festival on April 6, 2019! The sky was filled with kites, live music was playing, and families and couples graced the lawn. It was a great time! Well be back again and again!
Its absolutely beautiful but it needs more signs on where everything is.
I wish we lived close to this place, we love spending an afternoon there.
Loved walking around all the gardens, it is a great place to exercise or just leisurely stroll. The butterfly house was very nice and the volunteer who was manning the butterfly house was very knowledgeable and friendly. I loved all the signs near each of the plants with both common and Latin names on them to identify the plants.
Always beautiful. The kids enjoy all the playground areas and I enjoy the walks through all the flowers.
