This place is really nice. I came here for a graduation party for my nephew and the park is beautiful. It was very well maintained and what I loved about the park were the bathrooms all throughout the park with running water. Everything was neat and tidy. I wish I had a park like this in my neck of the woods.
Forest Park is awesome! Plenty of room to walk through and admire the landscape and beautiful fall colors. There also sites to see, the Barney Masoleum, the water plant ponds,The carriage House. They have started to erect the Bright Night Lightscapes so you will see a small sample of a spectacular event. One of my favorite places to take a walk in nature.
This is one of the best parks the I know I ca come do just about anything from walking, running and exercise in general. There’s baseball fields and one of the is actually like a stadium, softballs field, soccer field and tennis courts. I feel you can come to this park and practice any exercise you want. There’s trails you can go and wonder into nature just like that, if you like birds you can go birds watching you’ll find some interesting ones, there’s a pond that in the summer it’s full of migrating ducks and you can even feed them. There sis a venue for wedding as well it’s called the carriage house. Pa other thing Forest park is a great place for taking photographs. It has a kids park a swimming pool and one of the things I like the most is that it has its own Zoo, ok now! They don’t have all kinds of animals at the Zoo I understand its a rehabilitation zoo for other zoos but you get to see some great animals including a couple of bears all in all it’s a great place to bring your kids. There’s plenty of parking there’s is a feed to enter with your vehicle, but if you want you can purchase a yearly pass Which is not expensive. And beast of all in the winter they have the Christmas lights which is very awesome.
This is the best time of year to visit Forest Park! The humidity and mosquitoes from the summer are gone and the leaves are changing color. There are plenty of roads to go around the park or trails to venture on.
This park is so beautiful and so huge - there is something for everyone. Very reasonable price to spend the day there ($3 for MA plates, $5 out of state). Cant wait to keep exploring!
Excellent time, and lots of Animals at the Forest Park Zoo! Need cash to get in the regular park.
This park is not only beautiful but it has a lot of space. Its fun just to take a walk or ride your bike down the paths. The zoos kinda smell lol, but if you can ignore that its pretty cool. There is also a playground for kids, a lake, an open field for running soccer anything, and a volleyball net. Theres a lot to do there, that I havent mentioned to I recommend check it out. Im glad I live near enough just to walk
Feed those ducks, visit the zoo, play some tennis,, have a picnic, stroll through the beautiful landscape, play ball or visit the playground.Something for everyone.I have enjoyed this park for 42years.
Great park in middle of city for when need that wilderness get away. Good trails, and very clean.
Love the park!! Something for everyone and plenty to do. Well kept, clean and always fun!!
Always nice to bring my daughter to the park. Clean, safe and fun.
It beautiful extremely well maintained. The zoos is ten dollars for adults 5 for kids. Face mask is a must if you are visiting the zoo. 3 dollars for parking
Thought the zoo safari for halloween would of been much cooler and it was pretty terrible! highly dont recommend it. waste of money, most of the animals werent even out. why host it ?! NOT going next year.
The lights were amazing and the carousel was so much fun! The kids had an awesome time as did the family. Great job
Very beautiful park with ponds, trails, picnicking.A great place for an hour or a day.
Like the park. Nice and clean. Good place to spend a day with family.
Pros: the light displays are phenomenal! Ive been through a few of them over the years and this is definitely my personal favorite. The slow cruise through the area is very pleasant to do with the family during the holiday season. It is also long enough where youll be satisfied with the cost of the adventure.Cons: traffic, and a whole lot of it. We waited in line for an eternity. Its to be expected though for when its your turn to enjoy the experience. If you never been there then Id recommend it at least once. You wont be disappointed.
Its still open to the public you still have to pay $3.00 per car..they only negative is i saw lots of people not wearing masks or social distanceing
I love Forest park. But looking at the posted photos one would think its only bright nights or the zoo. Its so much more than that.
Great place to take the family or just go by yourself. Peaceful and calming. Clean and quiet.
Nice place to go with my dog
Very beautiful. Massive. Saw a creeper guy by himself in the kiddie park.
Great time of the year to take the family to see the leaves change.
Always been a great place to take a walk...catch a baseball game...go to the zoo or just enjoy time with family!!
Good for walking. You can have picnics. Play sports. Playground was open and water park. Eat at a place on the premises with reasonable prices (hotdogs and slushies were good). Theres ice-cream available, too.
Great park to go with family. Take walks, ride bike wt kids,or just chill out Love Forest Park
Wonderful large park with plenty of benches available. Excellent experience bringing some food here from one of the many terrific local restaurants. Recommended
Loved this park, hadnt really been here in 15-20 years. Am so impressed by how much they have improved it from the zoo to botanical gardens.
This was our first time to Forest Park. This is now one of our favorite places. When you walk up, the animals seem very curious. Although, when we got there, we must have gotten there close to feeding time. Its definitely a great place to visit! We will absolutely be back!
Just the right size for a quick trip on a hot day. The staff was very helpful in answering my youngests million questions.
Love the view its always nice and peaceful
The entrance of the park has a welcoming Omiskanoagwiak totem inviting you to know more about the park. Going down the driveway hill will awe you in the moment, youll want to go all over. Nature here is alive. Youll want to prepare a whole days worth of activity whether just for curiosity or staying active.
The finest park to hangout, spend quality time, to experience the serenity and tranquility in the lap of nature, to jog, run, n what not.
I used to live in Springfield and hang out at this park. After 25 years I came back here to do a maternity photo shoot for someone. Now you have to pay to get in but it worth the money. Now so many things change and it much much nicer. I love the facts that they put up lights and change many things, more like a park for wedding photos & so on. :) :) I will come back here for more photos especially wedding for sure.
Very good place for outing ... and cook out
Very beautiful part I really enjoy the scenery
Great gem of nature in the city. Enjoy the trails, fields, zoo, playgrounds, water, and wildlife!
Now that the park is officially opened, I can start my walking and working out in the cool fresh air! Lovely park.
Great place to to a a cookout my grandson had a baseball game Springfield red sox
Such an amazing experience driving through Bright Nights. Stopping at Santas Forrest was a treat, with writing letters to Santa, meeting him and purchasing Christmas treats and decorations. Theres so many beautiful light shows and so much to see. A great treat to kick start the Christmas season.
Got some great pictures of this place. However I felt sorry for the zoo animals that they had their. Think they could have been taken care of better. But the rest of the park was fine.
I love going to Forest Park to go walking and I feed the ducks..I also lay out in the sun there.
Great place. Has a small zoo for the little ones. Check it out!
Long line but well worth it. Photos with Santa a little pricey, but other than that kids loved it.
One entrance closed and minor portion of inner roadway seemingly under reconstruction in summer 2019. Other main entrances open. Variety of interesting animals at the zoo including American bald eagles, a leopard, a marmoset, barnyard animals, Austrailian animals, lemurs, monkeys, camels, and a bobcat. Feed available for some animals from dispensers costing either a quarter or 50 cents depending upon the animal/dispenser. Hand sanitizer available. My kids got a kick out of the placards including a number of the animals given names and reasons behind why each were in the zoo. There are dedicated parts of the park for lawn bowling and bocce. There are at least a couple of decent playgrounds. I did not see the waterpark-like features I had been told were there and did not locate the similarly reputed train ride. The downloadable .pdf version of the park map is not usefully detailed. The aquatic gardens portion of the park was quite beautiful and teaming with life. While laid out to enjoy in a pretty linear fashion, be sure not to miss the stylized covered bridge area. Hiking and ball fields are available. The Carriage House looked rather swankee from the exterior. My car had out-of-state plates, and so entering the park was $5. There was plenty of parking. Park road speed limits were safe and reasonable. Entering the zoo was $10 for the adults in my party and $5 for the children. Plenty of sunny and shady benches to take a load off. Great time.
Very picturesque. You can enter for free from the longmeadow side. Park by the baseball field and walk right in. Needs more cleaning done as there is some trash that can be seen on the ground.
My happy place!! Often visit for meditation, to sit back and relax. Theres a zoo, Picnic area, basket ball courts, baseball park and soccer. Playground. Ducks pond, and Carriage House for activities.
Is good place to go with family
An amazing park to visit all year long. Have been a handful of times through all 4 seasons and everyone always love going. The lights are beautiful and unforgettable.
Our family really enjoyed the light show and meeting Santa. My favorite part was the dinosaur lights that they had. Especially considering I am obsessed with dinosaurs. I feel like their could have been a few more lights in the empty spaces, but overall, we were very pleased!
Always a GREAT park for exercise, picnics, portraits, the Zoo, and so much more
Beautiful park. Great for both relaxing and exercising.
Great park a lot of fun for everyone .
Went as a group to Bright Nights. We loved it! It’s great for all ages. The kids were ages 4-14 and all loved it.
Great for walking around, picnic tables available, nice atmosphere
We have been coming to Forest Park for over 30 years! Its beautiful, with gorgeous flowers, ponds, a zoo, huge fields to play on, and lots of sites for grilling. Good place for family picnics and parties. Nice photo opportunities throughout the park. Great place to walk the dog. We like to feed the ducks and run up the steps of the old amphitheater. There is a pool, a skating rink, food, etc. In the winter, the park is decorated for Bright Nights, which attracts tourists from all over New England!
Big park nice scenery
I loved this place. In autumn it’s better place for photo shoots
Eccellent place to share with the family and enjoy nature.
I love taking my daughter to the zoo she absolutely loves it I enjoy watching the animals that have free reign to walk around anywhere and when youre done at the zoo theres plenty to do at the park

It was a nice walking around the park. The weather was fantastic for this time of the year. I could see them innovations that were made in the park.
Beautiful park, with many trails, refreshments waterfowl.
Bright Nights is great. Very nostalgic. If youve never seen it, you must. If you have seen it before, bring someone who hasnt, especially the little ones!
Great lights, stop in for hot chocolate and rides, lots of fun for the family.
Loved arrangements here.. recommend it for kids
Nice to spend with the kids and family and friends
As always restful
Enjoyed seeing all the animals. I liked how the hen, roster, chicks,, and peacocks were running around in the open for everyone to see. We had a good experience.
I live across the Street from Forest Park and I walk my dogs there daily. It is a very beautiful, clean and safe park that offers a variety of sights and places to explore, well worth a visit if in the Springfield area.
A great place to bring your children in your family to enjoy the scenery and the weather
Beautiful park, interesting events, and interesting people.
Love the light show
Beautiful park for walking, reading...
Wonderful attraction and always fun for the kids, I wish santa was there though. The rides they added are simple yet so much fun, over 675,000 lights to look at and so many themes. Worth the money.
Love the farmer market and a nice place for a walk...
Directions are lousy! The front entrance is on Summer!
Had a great at the zoo.
Love to visit and walk around and enjoy the lovely sites
It was truely magical. Beautiful displays and awesome lighting. The ride can be slow or fast depending how long you spend looking over everything.
Very nice place to spend time with work out.
Great park to walk with plenty of parking, benches to sit and fields for the kids. Even a couple hidden hiking trails
Come for the forest. Stay cuz you got murdered.
Really awesome place
Absolutely amazing place to go, the scenery is beautiful, lots and lots of things to do with your family and friends. It is a extremely family-orientated place!
Its the largest park in the area. The pond is phenomenal for watching ducks and geese. The trails are excellent for nature lovers and bird watchers alike. If youre careful (and quiet) enough, you can enjoy all the natural animal wonders the park has to offer
Nice walk/hiking area!
Forest park holds a lot of good memories.
Beautiful beautiful nice people walking park good pets
This is a great place to walk and enjoy the day. The park is so big that it would probably take you a few days to walk the whole park. There is also a playground for the kids located near the zoo. During Christmas they decorate part of the park with Christmas lights as a drive through attraction. The cost to enter the park is $ 5.00
One of my favorite places in Springfield. Love talking long walks with the family. Perfect place to exercise the dogs. Absolutely beautiful scenery love the trails and the ponds. Kids love the playgrounds.
All natural no filter perfect place for picture beautiful at all seasons
