Loved the huge signs outlining the history of the areas shipbuilding and how it impacted our country. Right by the water with its views of various boats. We saw a three-sail sailboat, which my daughter insisted was a pirate ship. Also right by the Bug Light lighthouse, which is both beautiful and adorable!
Informative memorial dedicated to the local shipyard workers who built Liberty Ships in Portland during WWII. Several picture displays with historical information are inside the large Liberty Ship walk-through sculpture. Makes a nice combination stop if youre visiting nearby Bug Light Lighthouse or the South Portland Historical Society.
I just love the ocean and reading on history. Interesting read, pics and items on display.
Very informative and a nice memorial.
