It was a wonderful service. Its only the second time Ive been there but I like Father Peter great job.

I was traveling from Dallas to Lafayette, LA and chose to stop at this cathedral very last minute (knowing it may not be unlocked).I happen to come on an evening when there was an assembly going on at the school next door. I explained my situation, and asked the right person about letting me in to pray for a few minutes (my seminarian friend told me it was beautiful - and he wasnt wrong!), and she hesitantly agreed! I am forever thankful to her! What a beautiful Cathedral! St. John Berchmans, pray for us!

There is no sufficient vocabulary to describe the way this place radiates! Not my home church, but I absolutely enjoy every opportunity to worship here!

Lovely people and great priest

I love going to Mass here. The atmosphere is special, the music sounds professional and the stained glass is beautiful. Father Peter and the others are very welcoming. They also have interesting relics in the sanctuary, too, plus, they recently put together a museum about the Shroud of Turin!

I was raised in this church. I was baptized, confirmed, first communion here. I was an alterboy through high school. I attended SJ Grammer school the first year it opened and finished high school there. My mother was a pillar of St Johns. Yes, Im glad to be back home after being away 30+ years.

What a beautiful edifice and tribute to God. Attended service there and was totally impressed with all facets. The stained glass windows are truly beautiful and the organ music was excellent and balanced. Architecture is also impressive. You will walk out inspired....I know I did.

St Johns Berchmans Cathedral is a beautiful church located in an older part of town. Its not called a cathedral for nothing! Even if you arent Catholic, this church will inspire you with its vaulted knave, arches, beautiful stained glass windows, wood pews, and statuary. The home of religious artifacts and a relic, masses are in Latin and English with a symphony like choir. If for some reason you miss regular mass St. Johns has one at 5:30 pm on Sundays. With my crazy work schedule, lately Ive been a frequent visitor!
