No bites today but it sure is nice out here .

This is a great place for kayaking. Only the front part of the park is openwhich includes a dock, and small launch for kayaks, canoes and non-motorized boats. I am thankful for the volunteers who were able to get the front part open to the public.

Bickham Dickson Park is a place I used to go in between classes while attending LSUS. Some friends and I would go throw a football, hang out, and waste time. The lake section (split by a frisbee golf course) was nice and peaceful enough. We even fished a few times.At least we did, until we noticed all the strange, creepy men backing up into parking spots and staring us down as we arrived. Little did I know that these are mostly men who have been previously arrested in Bickham Dickson Park for exposing themselves and soliciting sex, even from people who are completely unreceptive to their advances.Long story short: this park is used as a meet-up place for men seeking sexual encounters. These men burn holes through you with their eyes the entire time youre there. It doesnt feel safe.Theyve ruined a nice, peaceful park by turning it into a disgusting hook-up zone. I dont know why theyre using the park for this, or if they even realize how unsafe they make people feel, but um guessing it doesnt matter to them.

Was a nice place it been over run by trash and since the floods hasnt been reopen. Watch out for weird people down in this area.
