This is a really nice little park located right on the highway. The day-use area fronts the water, and the Campground is across the street. Beautiful views. Lots of wind.

It was low tide when we stopped in, and it was fun walking the sand. Its a comfortable and well-maintained place to picnic. The bathrooms were open, and in good shape.

We went for clamming and it was great. There are also oysters there as well. If you go a low tide you can see lots of crabs in the water and some little fish under rocks. They looked kinda like mud skippers but not a fish expert here. They also had plenty of picnic benches and water stations. It was great

Would not recommend for camping, especially if you have young kids. Zero privacy between the sites, incredibly close to the highway (tons of road noise), overflowing garbage dumpsters, clogged drains in the water stations, several full time campers living out of their car and soliciting money from campers at other sites and a camp host who showed ageist tendencies by complaining multiple times about kids having fun yet never asked the drunken adults to quiet down despite the fact that they were yelling and playing LOUD music until 4am. If you do camp at this park, be prepared for the overwhelming smell of marijuana throughout the day and for 3/4 of the drivers on Hwy 101 to completely ignore the flashing crosswalk lights as they speed past at breakneck speed while you are trying to cross the road to get to the beach. On the bright side, the stargazing was great in the field under the power lines, our site was really large, and the park rangers were very nice on the few occasions we saw them. Overall though, this was my least favorite of all the WA state parks weve stayed at.

You require to have Discovery Pass for a car park. The annual pass is $35, and you can buy it near the site. They also provide a 15 minutes car park for free too. There are many tables and BBQ grill you can use. This park also has a significant public restroom. This little park where you can find oyster expose directly without stick with a rock. Moreover, you can find many types of Clam, such as Razor clam, Geo-duck, and Horse clams.

Great spot for a day spent by the water. There are a good amount of picnic tables available, shady areas, a couple showers to rinse off and the bathrooms are very well kept.

Pulled in - first thing I saw was a huge group of noisy college aged kids playing beer pong. Tents crammed together. I almost left right there and then. Our spot was actually ok - decent space. Inadequate shower (yes, just the one) that wasn’t clean. Loud groups, and thanks to illegal parties out there FR24 is shut so no Olympic hikes available. Kinda trashy feel all round. Avoid.

Its a nice campground overall. Some of the sites are definitely better than others. Our site was awfully close to the neighbor tents, which made for loud and obnoxious nights, when youre trying to fall asleep. Theres lot of clamming, but not much opportunity for fishing.

Potlatch state park is my favorite place for clamming. Just beware, when the tides are really really shellfish hunting friendly they will quickly run out of parking. We were lucky we got there early. I do not understand why they prohibit parking on grass, as this is just for the harvest, meaning about 2hours, and after that the park will be empty. Rangers forced people to park along the highway, and all those people got parking tickets :( just so wrong!

Salt water, beautiful view and nice layout of camp sites. Not many very great sites for a medium to large size tent. There are two rare and endangered Pacific Yew trees near the second set of bathrooms, in the middle of the campground.

Tucked in the folds of misty Puget Sound, Potlatch is a quaint state park that must be damp more often than not. Everything approaching the coast carries a weathered breath about it, and Potlatch does not elude this atmosphere. The amenities--public restrooms and undercover picnic sites--are serviceable and kept, but simply weathered. Nobody goes to a state park for comfort, and comfort you will not need, for there is much to do here by way of action! Clamming, oysters, fishing, and camping are all accessible just off the freeway, and situated near Bremerton Ferry Terminal, it seems a day trip is simply too convenient to ignore.

I came here for a college field trip, and spent the day in Staircase. It was a rainy, October day so I decided to spend most of the day inside of the large felled tree they have on a side path. If youre looking for the quintessential walk in the woods in an old growth forest, this is your place. It is 4 stars because it doesnt have the best resources and bathrooms. They were also working on the trail when we went there which derailed our trip a tiny bit.

Bathrooms very clean - Kudos Odessa -Hosts Dave and Debbie exceptionally helpful, great at litter patrol and accurate with information.Rented site in lower campground at 37.50 with full hookups and pull through BUT Highway was so noisy and busy...No peace, no quiet, no privacy, overpriced considering the highway. Been in rest stops quieter than this!Upper campground very quiet and peaceful but no hookups.Next time will dry camp in peace and serenity of upper camp sites!Day use beach across highway nice but could use more maintenance on tables.

Good but not great... We camped two nights and while the campsite (right next to the new bathrooms) was okay there was a strong foul smell that seemed to come from the toilets even though they are plumbed, not a vault style. No soap in the bathrooms but an air hand drier. The major downside is hwy 101 dividing the campground from the beach. Lots of traffic that whizzes past at all hours. On the plus side the park rangers were friendly and helpful. If youre interested in harvesting shellfish it is plentiful! Especially if you head to the South/right from the main Beach.

Split down the middle by Hwy 101, beach access to the Hood Canal means crossing this busy road. Theres a large beach and a roped swimming area. Waters are almost always calm as it broadens out here. Theres a boat ramp and easy access for a relaxing kayaking experience. I cant imagine it would be a quiet place to camp given that the 101 stays busy round the clock.
