This is a wonderful place to visit for many reasons. A peaceful walk around the trail alone or with friends and family. Great place to teach the youngsters to fish too. Or enjoy a nice boat ride. Oh, lets not forget their consetion stand for refreshments. So many fun memories at this place and nice to revisit!

Personally for me its a place u take my kids to take some air in. Police Station right next door, fire department. Friendly atmosphere with a small workout area. Overall great environment

Safe place to walk and bike on the pond.

Passed this 1000 times but never stopped. Took pups for couple laps around track. Small fishing area with sand beach. Picnic area, restrooms. Workout equipment if you are so inclined. Nice little spot and the weather was perfect!

Great place for taking a walk around, 0.7 miles round trip. There is a small open air gym where you can stretch, though I would spray sown during the Covid days before using. Only minuses are the occasional clueless users that do not maintain social distance while walking, or the rare cyclist whizzing by without warning :) There is parking for about 20 cars, but you can always park at the police / fire station lot next door.

Very nice lake. Good for a stroll. Also public exercise equipment and solar USB charging stations are a nice touch. And speaking of touching, bring your own hand sanitizer.

Volkening Lake is great for biking, walking and exercising. There is a workout place that’s really convenient. Highly recommend.

Nice place for family and walking

Racing bikes, joggers, skate boards, roller blades, mothers with strollers, dog walkers, walkers, all add up to mayhem on too narrow a path to support all this activity. Bikers think they have right of way since there are bike path signs. As seniors trying to walk for health we have had too many close calls with being mowed over. There are enough bike paths in Schaumburg but no dedicated walking paths. Schaumburg Park District is asking for litigation.

Went fishing here for the first time. Im assuming that because it was later in the season is the reason why I didnt catch anything. Threw many different lures but came up empty. The place was clean so that was nice. Ill try there again next year.

I came here for a photoshoot with a client on a frigid winter day. It gets really windy here and boy, if I didnt have my gloves, I wouldnt have been able to type this review. This is a good place for photography. Although it was a cloudy and gloomy day, the usage of your own lights can really help bring out the images. The lake is a great backdrop for portrait photography and Id love to share the images, but my client has asked me not to. Trust me though, this is a great place for taking pictures of people.

Lovely relaxing park like setting. Paddle boats available for water experience. Fishing allowed. Beautiful grounds with benches and picnic pavilion. Good walking path. Leashed pets welcome, good pet owner cleanup enforced.

My wife and I walk everyday and one of the places we go is walking is Volkenkng Lake a very nice and beautiful place to walk. I walked today it was very difficult because of all of the geese poop that is on the trail the Park District needs to clean it up possibly once a week to make it more enjoyable.

Love to walk around this cute park! cool body-weight exercise machines to use as an outdoor gym, plenty of benches and pinicing spots, Porta-potty available even in cold weather, and very safe and secure considering it is a shout‘s distance to the police station next door! Always plenty of joggers, dog walkers, and friendly people sharing the space. A beautifully landscaped public recreation park!

I love walking around the lake. On Sunday mornings you can see people sail their remote-controlled little boats. You have to be careful of red-winged blackbirds. Theyll try to attack your head to protect their nest. Wear a hat.

Very clean and nice area to get a run or a walk in. Outdoor gym equipment can use some tightening or calibration all the push and pull movements seem very loose. Nice pond for paddle boating.

LOVE IT! This place is for all ages. And even pets, as long as they are leashed. There is a play park for kiddos. Paddle boat rentals, refreshments, a nice covered picnic area and my favorite feature is the .7 mile walking/running trail around the pristine lake filled with flopping fish and wildlife. Watch out for the Red Winged blackbird, around the backside of the lake. They are protecting their nests and will dive bomb anyone wearing a baseball hat. Have fun. PEACE OUT!

Beautiful place to go for a walk, have a picnic, go paddle boating, and workout. I streamed my Insanity workout from my phone and worked out on their soft padded workout area well looking over the lake. It was a nice mixture of pleasure and pain lol.

Beautiful place! They have boats, paddle boats and even a work out section. We caught some catfish and I caught a large carp. Nice place to just enjoy the view.

Great and Fun place for Family outing experience

Gorgeous, but smelly right now.

I came here with my wife for a romantic experience. The staff was very passive aggressive and rude. The staff consists of very unprofessional teenagers with attitude. They didn’t want to do their jobs. It ruined the mood of the whole experience. Absolutely hated this place and will never come back.

Well maintained natural areas and paths. Great place to just go and have lunch with coworkers or just hang out and read a book.

It was a nice clean place to enjoy any afternoon there.

Visited on a sunny and warm December afternoon. Not crowded. A walk around the lake is 0.7 mile. Exercise equipment on-site. Portable bathrooms and plenty of benches.

Nice lake that you can walk 0.7 miles around the lake. They have a rental place for paddle boats. They have a very small parking lot. I think its M-F 7-3 pm 2 hr parking. They also have workout machines but they arent electrical. Once in awhile u might see someone . You will see people w or stroller walking around too!

Clean, nice area to fish...though we didnt catch anything. Not much shade at this pond. It did have a porta potty which we didnt check out. There is also a fair amount of traffic with people walking and exercising dogs. They have a nice exercise area as well with instructions...probably should have more shaded areas especially when its 90 degrees out.

Excellent park, great outdoor exercise equipment; very serene. The only downside is the availability of washrooms. We only found those construction portable-style washrooms.

Very pleasant. Nice lake to take a walk around. Also has workout equipment, and paddle boat and canoe rentals. Canoe rentals were not open when we were there on a very nice day. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Very cool space. Has a rudimentary snack bar, paddle boats, a large gazebo, a nice big path around the whole lake. Bikers, joggers, and people out for a stroll all use the path, but its big enough to pass others and move around. Some well cared for flower beds and sitting areas. I think the real highlight od this park is the outdoor gym equipment thats there for the public. No park or play area for kids, much more adult oriented park.

Nice place to go to walk around the lake and theres a small picnic area and some exercise equipment but no playground area for the kids. There are some beautiful flowers and metal benches to sit on good place to go if you just want to relax hang out as a couple

Love this place to relax and take my son on the paddle boats but those vests need to be clean ASAP, they smell and have sweat stains and to have them on us for 30 mins or 1hr its kind of nasty...
