This is an amazing place right in Schaumburg, it a great place for family and kids. The roads are stroller friendly so you can bring your little ones.You will see lot of birds and flowers.Perfect for evening and morning stroll. Very peaceful place.

This is the best nature walk experience in the suburbs to visit. This park has been here for over 30 years and continue to upgrade and now has an amazing park for all kids with a water river to cool off. Ive been going here since i was a kid and it never gets old. They have an awesome farm with learning experiences in how they farmed and kept their food preserved in the past history. Highly recommended!!!

Such a beautiful trail. It was a busy one too! But I understand why. We saw Deer out and about, frogs in the pond, and Geese a flockin. This is my top three favorite trails thus far

It has a fun discovery playground and a kids garden. It also has beautiful scenic trails. Such a great nature park for the whole family to enjoy!

This is a great place for everyone to enjoy the outdoors. There is a playground and areas where kids are encouraged to touch and engage in nature (not just look). The are plenty of trails and lots of benches to sit and rest as you need. The ground is mostly flat, though there are a few places that are uneven; most would not have any difficulties.

Much of the buildings are closed due to covid-19. Still a nice walk around!

We love this place. We spent 2 hours here walking through all the paths and trails filled with birds and butterflies. We walked over to the farm through the trails, feeling grateful for this beautiful bit of nature in the middle of Schaumburg.

It’s a wonderful place to be. Go there with your kids and family. It’s very clean and beautiful. I love to go here for walks and to attend to different events they have. The last one was a couple weeks ago and it was so amazing. I’ll go back for sure and I recommend to visit this place.

Really nice trails and a cool playground for the kids. Highly recommended. Be aware, it can get a bit busy.

Marvelous! It is well kept, the playgrounds are fun for kids and spread out throughout the area. Along the trails there are many beautiful scenes that will make you stop and take a picture. One of my favorite places where I can take a walk and have a picnic.

Kinda lame not much to see. Animals were gone paths could be marked/ labeled better.

We used this farm for a photo shoot and let me tell you how amazing the pictures came out. We went closer to sunset time and even the photographer was at a Unfortunately the farm it self it closed currently because of Covid. But once they do open back up, we are looking forward to going back.

Such a lovely place and loved spending time here since I was a kid. We used to take school trips here all the time in district 54! Now it’s one of our visitation spots for the kids - we love coming by Bisons Bluff. The nature play park is amazing!

Great place for walks with or without kids. Some trails, a bit of paved areas, pond full of lilies in spring and summer, historical buildings and animal farm. Very charming and relaxing place!

Nice walking trails, social distancing is possible, though it is on Schaumburg road it feels far from the city once you start the mini-hike.

Expect to walk a bit and spend some time enjoying the nature center, the play area, and the farm. So much to explore! We spent about 2 hours there and hardly glimpsed the indoor nature center. Excellent for kids and trails are generally stroller friendly. Lots of natural play pockets to check out along the trails while using your imagination. Well planned family events to find on their calendar as well.

Peaceful and serene place for a nature walk right around Schaumburg. The heritage farm hives a bit of a surprise with he heritage structures gives it a break and very helpful for tracking with kids and family.

Such a great spot for all ages if you need an adventure in nature.

Great fun for all of my boys range 4-1. Theyll get wet and dirty but sleep so good. Really enjoyed the walk, kids garden and the playground was awesome. The stream and other water features were the bug hit this time but the whole area was great.

Googled dog friendly hiking near me and this came up. Walked up to the entrance to find 3 people staring me down the whole time awkwardly to say theres no dogs allowed on the property. When just yesterday I brought my dog and saw other people with their dogs. As a traveler I do not recommend.

I went there with friends to just get out of the house and had the best time ever. Perfect place for anyone of any age and super beautiful, especially during the sunset.

We loved visiting this park, with its focus on preserving the natural habitat of the area. The playground area was fun and had lots of different activities, including water play, musical instruments, climbing, and art. The park has paved walking trails with a beautiful view of the prairie area. We didnt make it to the log cabin and barn area but would love to come back again. Definitely worth a visit!

Love this little nature getaway. We always come here for walks and now we have a little one she loves coming and seeing everything, the trails, farm and bison bluffs. Its such a great place to go to feel like you are out of the city.

I attend yoga classes inside the old rustic building on Thursday nights. I find it very calming & relaxing with the fireplace & lights that dim.

Good place for a slow paced visit back to nature. The Heritage Farm is worth your time - you could have been born back then - not an easy life. Dont be afraid to approach the performers (employees) with questions. They are eager to show you their tools and old methods. An education for adults and kids.

Spring Valley Nature Center was a time machine. A friend of mine took me here after driving me to the post office, and the quick trip became the best thing I did before leaving Schaumburg. This place feels like the 1800s. As a filmmaker, in my head, I was seeing a setup of a movie that tells a story that happened in the 1800s. Every little detail of this place is carefully designed to make you travel back in time. And as if by magic, it rained on us, I felt bliss; when have I been in a beautiful place for the first time, and it rained on me? (A long time ago). With the right attitude when you get here, you can easily enjoy your visit. I shall come back soon with a good camera to do this place justice. Remember though, the place is closed on Monday, in case you want to go inside the buildings, and no dogs or bikes are allowed. Its only for humans.

There is plenty to see and do at this nature center. My 5 year old loves the park and the farm. There are nice paths to walk around and a little pond where you can regularly find frogs and turtles.The actual learning center has helpful staff that teach you about animals that you may see while you walk around.

Visited here while travelling through with my 5 year old son. This was a nice surprise and pit stop. Very nice grounds and many playground activities for kids.

A generation ago we enjoyed Spring Valley: the trails, the programs, the indoor displays and wildlife. Now, we are back and enjoying all those things but also a fantastic nature playground. Every child should experience this!!! Wonderful place, April - Nov open until 8pm.

Once you get away from playground area, it has great hiking paths. Near all the traffic, it is a good place to get away. A island of peace.

We came for a nice relaxing walk and were pleasantly surprised with the working farm and individuals dressed for the time period. You are even able to rent some of these spaces out for private events.

Really easy to forget that youre right off of the highway. Nice easy nature walks available. There are plenty of paved paths and seems to always be some sort of event going on.

I have very fond memories here from childhood, now we bring our son and have very fond memories with him. I used to run on the trails here after my college classes. Its beautiful and peaceful, and the smell of the farm reminds me of being up in Wisconsin during my early childhood.

This was fantastic. My boys loved it. I loved the activities and the library for the kids. Will definitely be back.

Quaint gem located in the heart of Schaumburg, Spring Valley is the ideal place to go if you’re not sure what else to do or when you’re sure you’d like to enjoy your time. Spring Valley features a working farm with animals, original farm buildings, pond, hiking trails, restored prairie, arboretum, and a magnanimous playground for kids.

Lots of trails, green lush.

Great place to bring the kids, with carefully contructed playgrounds, wheelchair accessible paths, excellent signage for vegetation and birds. If you are a birder, be sure to bring your binoculars. Length of paths is short, so do your running or hiking somewhere else. But great place for leisurely stroll.
