Too much was closed to justify the cost. Minimal staff made for hunting folks down to do stuff. Just feels like this is a place better suited to remain closed until restrictions lifted.
This place is amazing! Plenty of exhibits, 4d movies, rides, everything! Be sure to take a selfie with Einstein in the lobby!
We went yesterday and purchssed this lego city train and the drive part of the train was like this. I have being trying to call and leave a message but their voice mail is full (i guess with complains) and now they dont even get it empty; This is very upsetting after paying 160 for a set that doesnt work
Great experience all around, friendly staff and very helpful can’t wait to visit again.
Sad that not all the rides were open but the kids love it. Probably will be back when things get better.
I was surprised how much stuff it is to do in this place dont be fooled. We went on a Sunday and it still was a good crowd there so go early. They even have 2 rides and a food court in this place. Worth every dollar also the gift that you get at the door was very small, but to the kids it makes a difference vs getting nothing while seeing all of those toys.
50 dollar entry fee to play with legos and enjoy 2 attractions. 1 ride and 1 4d movie. Very disappointing.
Fun place for kids. You can spend almost the whole day there doing various activities. There is a small cafe for some snacks.Have siting are to take some rest, although its not a big place to roam around.
A nice place for kids to enjoy. My son really enjoyed a lot and mostly he enjoyed the 3d movie theater.
It was definitely on the kid side, but as they say, kid is only a state of the mind... I took 2 grandparents and 2 kids along with my wife and actually enjoyed it. We did skip a section or 2, but overall very enjoyable. Even though a little cheesy, loved the 4D theater.
This place was amazing! Children attending were 15, 9 and 7. The rides were fun, the creations were incredible to look at, the interactive activities kept the children engaged. The prices for entry and photos were very reasonable, especially if purchased online in advance. The prices of the food in the cafe were higher than should be. That is the only reason for giving 4 stars.
Nice place to visit have many things for kids and your kids can easily spend 3 hours there
Quite the busy place on a hot Saturday afternoon, but the wait times were manageable. Clean facility with plenty for the kids to do. Great way to enjoy an afternoon.
My daughter and I had a great time. I would suggest getting the activity book for your kids it helps keep them more engaged. The 4D theater is lots of fun. She also led the Merlin ride and Lego play area.
Imagine being such a coward that you close a business over the common cold. This place is a disgrace.
This is awesome especially with the annual pass. I would’ve done this 6 months ago if I knew how fantastic it was. There are a couple of fun rides including a short movie theater. Various LEGO activities for kids of all ages. My son had a ton of fun there. We’ll visit again soon.
Awesome experience for my five year old. He loved the helicopter ride, and the water stream where he built a boat. The short movies are great and with amazing special effects. The staff is really friendly and the place is mostly clean, although you will find a piece of legos laying around in a random place. I enjoyed the mini cart ride, and the laser gun. The only part I didn’t expect was the LEGO store at the exit, the play sets are above average price! - Double check amazon for best deals - I still bought a few sets.
We had an awesome time/experience here. This place is so cool, for kids and the kid inside you. There a lot to do for all ages, some rides, play stations, building stations, a 4-D movie theater we watched 3 movies (20-30min each movie). We had a blast and will definitely make a trip back again.
Great place, just wish it was a bigger facility and more things to do.
It is a good experience depending on the age of your child, but even my 3 year old enjoyed playing on the pirate ship playground and building Lego cars to race down the track. There are attractions that leave a bit to be desired (such as the 4D movie) but overall it was a good time.We went during the day of Wednesday and it was very quiet, which was nice. If you have the flexibility to go on a weekday Id recommend arriving after 1pm to ensure any school groups have left.
A very fun but unequal place. Some areas are very interactive and fun and some others seem to be there to simply fill the space. The exhibit as you first get in is fine and show some of the Chicago main attractions built as LEGO. The kids playground is a little small considering how many kids are playing there. The rides are fun but a little short (understandable considering the lines but still)Overall, a good experience that is interactive enough for children - and to a certain point adults to have a good time.
LEGOLAND costs a lot of money but in my experience is worth it if your with family or friends when I went one of the rides was broken but that was a separate cost so I wasn’t too concerned about that but everything else was pretty fun, they also had a Batman “roller coaster “ which can make you tired because you have to pedal a lot! If all of that sounds like fun to you then I really suggest going there (only if your prepared to spend a lot of money)
We enjoyed LEGOLAND! Amazing what people build with LEGOS. My 2 year old son and 8 year old daughter both enjoyed. This place is hours of fun, especially forAdmission is $27 bucks. 3 & under are free. Someone in line gave me a “free child” coupon which saved me $27 dollars! You can get these from places like McDonalds and toy stores.LEGOLAND is hours of fun for rambunctious toddlers like my son! Very bright, cute play area with cheery music playing. My daughter enjoyed the plane ride and the part where you build the cars and send them down the ramps! Very cool!! The boy wasn’t tall enough for the ride. He, and other children kept trying to slide down the ramp for the cars like a slide. Some children actually did. I completely understood why they would want to. Lol!The cafe is awesome! It’s not only attractive but the snacks are reasonably priced and tasty. They offer a nice variety as well. You could also bring your own food in. They have lots of seating area outside of the cafe.My only complaint was that there were children that were running full speed up and down the stairs on the ship. My 2 year old was trampled. Not hurt at all. He was running wild also. but no staff was there to supervise the kids. And this particular day a summer camp was visiting. The magic quest part was very crowded and we didn’t do that. Nor did we do the VR rides for the same reason.
This would be 4 or 5 stars if everything was open (thanks pandemic). After 30 minutes, both kids were bored.
Huge shout out to Megan. You made our already good day a great one. Megan took the time to sit down and show my son the best way to make a car to race down the ramp and then raced him with a car she had made. Thank you Megan! We hope to see you the next time were there.
The kids freaking love this place! The only reason I didnt give it the full five stars is because I do think it is overpriced. I think an adult ticket should honestly be cheaper than a childs ticket. The children are having a great time and I dont mind paying more for them but for an adult ticket to be the same price, when all were really doing is guiding our children through, I mean seriously people, unless its an adult event night, I think it should be cheaper. We have five children, thats already if you get the toy about $21 a ticket, for the adults to be still $18 each its too much. And that is us not getting the toy LOL the cafe is fair price. Although I would suggest you bring your own snacks, I always think that Im not going to spend his long hair as we do but we do spend a fair amount of time here. I think they do a good job of changing up the attractions quite often, from the last time we were here this place looks totally different. The Lego Friends area is super cute the girls are loving that right now. If you havent been, I suggest you go, be prepared for a lot of kids to be running around LOL be prepared to hear some crying, be prepared for aside from the recreation of the Chicago skyline to not be very interested in it as parents, but your children, trust me, well be super psyched to be here LOL
Great place to take the kiddos! Had a wonderful time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Did a package deal with hotel and could not beat the price. All day fun for all age groups!
Fun place to take the kids. At the time, there could have been a better job to maintain some of the attractions, but it didnt seem to phase my son. As far as a place to go without kids, unless you are just shopping at the small store at the front of the location, it probably isnt worth the time for what it is. But you can occasionally find some hard to find items in the LEGO store.
I am not big on Legos, but needed a family friendly outing for a 3 yo who loves Legos and waffle blocks. Please note, adults have to have a child with them and children over 3 require a ticket which is the same cost as an adult ticket. If it wasnt so expensive and removed from other touristy parts of the city, itd be a great find. There are rides, a movie, opportunities to build with Legos, and really interesting Lego sculptures. My favorites were in the jungle area.
Not as much to do as the website would have you to think there is...The 4D Cinema wasnt fully operable, nor was the ride cameras, very dissappointing for the distance our 3 car loads of people drove, & for the total amount we spent, 3 special/upgraded passes to boot.....I neglected to initially add that the manager patiently listened to our issues/complaints & assisted us with a special request, which is what great customer service is all about.
Things are overpriced but I expect that at theme parks like this. The staff was great and everything was clean. We got lucky it wasnt super busy either so we got to take our time with everything
The place was smaller than I expected, but had a great number of things to look at and a good interactive portion.
Great time with teo twelve year olds - enough to do for three hours.Lots of engaging stations to build at, be creative at, and play in.
Incredibly underwhelming experience. One would think LegoLand has an overabundance of legos however other than the setup at the entrance and the jungle, there really wasnt much to look at. Fortunately the tickets were inexpensive however the 2 years our son has been begging to come here, it left much to be desired, including the gift shop.
Place was fun but everything was closed on the top floor. Not much to do
I thought it would be a little bit more with all the hype. Just two rides and lots of cool exhibits but not a whole lot of stuff to play with or do to interact. And they pack the place.
Growing up with a love for Legos, this brought back all of those wonderful memories! Our 7 and 11 year olds enjoyed every second of our visit and the variety of activities that was available. The Lego models of Chicago, in all the possible detail, the amusement ride that combined an adventure with a shooting gallery, the 4-D short movie, and even the playset were all very clean, excluding the Lego pieces, and couldnt have asked for more. While mainly focused for a younger crowd of under 13, even I found myself putting together legos and letting my imagination go. Make sure to get a deal thru Groupon, but an easy way to spend an entire day and make memories that will last.
Kids enjoy this place very much but very small area and probably not fully worth the cost
No social distancing. The staff here is not wearing masks .
Nice place for kids, love the chicago skyline legos. Gets boring fast though
So much fun and the staff was really friendly. There was lots to see and it was really awesome to see Chicago put together. Oh I got to see Harry Potter! #potterfan my 10 year old had a blad.We had lunch there as well and it was filling and unique - op and Starbucks is inside lolThey also had a class where you built and item, we did a crane. That was unique and fun.
Took our 2-year old on a weekday right at opening. She loved most of the attractions (especially the replica of Chicago and the Star Wars area. Given that some of the rides had an extra cost and that Legos themselves are not cheap in the gift shop, I felt the price (about $20 per ticket) was a little too high to make regular repeat visits. If not for the playground and building stations, the entire place would have only taken about 20 minutes to see. At $1 a minute... Id rather just buy legos that can be used over and over again.
Great place to take your kids, friendly staff and tons of things for kids to do. Does need an overhaul (Needs to be updated a bit, lots of stuff was broken) but understand 1000s of kids go through a week.
We visited legoland as the end of a weekend visit to Chicago. The 9 year old we had with us had a great time. As an adult there were some cool builds that we fun to look at but this is definitely for the children. I would imagine anyone older than 10 would probably be bored. The VR race was fun and Im glad we paid the extra for the experience. The activity pack was interesting at first but we soon lost interest. The sticker sheet we received at the end wasnt worth the searching. It was a fun experience but I dont think we would visit a 2nd time.
Fun place but needs to keep up with repairs of the facility. Some rides did not function appropriately and the 4D movie effects were not functioning. If they want to stay in business they need to pay attention to detail and make sure no one falls down from all the Lego pieces they are not sweeping off the floor regularly. Im glad I had a coupon because I would never pay full price to visit again.
My granddaughters and I really enjoyed this place. They have a couple of rides and a 4D movie theater with special effects! The amount if work the people put into the figures is outstanding!!! I could post more, but you have to go see for yourself!!!
We had a blast here for my godsons birthday. Establishment was clean and staff was friendly
This was my first time at Legoland with my children. It was nice to see the exhibits of Chicago buildings. The rides and 4D movie were fun experiences. I gave it 4 stars because I think it is overpriced for what you get. The tickets were almost $30/per person including my 4-year old. I felt like there should have been more attractions for that price.
I liked because it has aloe of fun cool rides!! But, the food menu is not all that healthy. If you didn’t really want to have lunch there 5/5 star review for me!
It was much fun, I think I had more fun than the kids!
Perfect place if you have a Lego enthusiast! Right away starts off with a Lego replica of downtown Chicago. Then its off on a journey through the jungle (which both are incredible to see). Also some special Star Wars pieces to enjoy. We love the Knight ride were you use a lazer to shoot targets. Can catch several 4D movies on your visit. Also a fun ride where you have to peddle to make you fly. A play area for kids to climb around.Several areas to create your own Lego masterpiece and even take a special builders class(some cost extra). There is a cafe that serves drinks and a few food options. If you plan to go here, make sure you have the time to enjoy it. Admission is around $27. Some times you can kind coupons for discounts.
Fun filled for both the little and big kids. Plan on spending a few hours exploring and building.
Weve been here a few times with our daughter to go through the different rooms filled to the brim with Legos... we have had such a great time playing with the Legos and building different things. They have different things to do for all ages... you can watch a movie... or join a Master Builder in building something together. They have a little area for the little ones to play and they have a ride for both children & adults to get on.Our last visit, we created our own Lego figures. It was so much fun to create the figurines in our like.
It was a very fun place for the children to play. Lots of different things to do, more than I expected. Most of the staff were polite. There was one rude male staff person by the virtual reality rides. Other than that, it was a nice experience.
For the price and how small the place is, it really isnt worth it. In order to get the full experience you have to pay extra on top of the ridiculously high entrance fee. If adults were free with their children it would be more palatable. The Lego creations in there are pretty cool, but we saw it all in about 15 minutes, then we spent four times that amount of time waiting in lines for the two rides. My kids were turned off by the guns or blasters as they called them one ride, as well. They ask you to shoot at spiders and bats, which was beyond uncomfortable. Really, for our culture - were Native American - it was inappropriate.
My son loves legos. Great experience, loads of fun.
Okay, now this is a GREAT experience. I went here with my family, and it was my first time. Surprisingly, it was the day of Christmas, and they were still open. The pictures and displays were cool. I highly recommend this place to people who have been to the actual LEGOLAND though.
Where to start. This place has very little to it. The rides are LAME, and didnt work very well. It feels like a gimmicky indoor playground. We drove here and I regret it. Ill spend the next 3 hours driving home with even more regret. Its a one and done type of place. Very little educational value. Vr wasnt calibrated so I had to look sideways the whole time. The headsets werent cleaned off. Just a sloppy operation. My picture shows how this place is maintained. 16% of ride capacity is removed because no one can fix the carnival ride. The guns didnt register most of our shots or hits during the dungeon ride. I get how these places fall behind and hire teenagers to keep cost low. But they have taken it too far here. We paid a lot of money and Im not sure how anyone gives this place 5 stars.
Legoland was great! Buy your tickets in advance to avoid the line. We went at noon and it wasnt too crowded yet. We did wait in line for 20 minutes for the ride, but relatively wasnt too bad. Was much more packed when we left. My kids loved it, was a great experience.
Overall thought.. meh. It is connected to a mall, smaller than I expected. Bottom floor was all statue look at stuff with a ride that the guns didnt work for us. The top floor was all interactive stuff with a ride. Nothing seemed unique. The building a car to race down a ramp was neat, but nothing seem to have much of a thought to it. It was all very standard in my opinion.
I took four 12 year olds today so thats how my review will be based. The first part is more like a museum, very cool displays I was immediately impressed. Unfortunately after that it pretty much fell flat for my group. Everything else is geared toward young kids, very young -the movie, rides and stations. Again seems great for the little ones, just not for kids near 12, the top end of their targeted age range.A helpful tip is to go when it first opens, we did on a Tuesday and it was very comfortable, but when we left it was already getting extra crowded by 1130.
It was super fun even as a 20 year old lolz we got the ultimate day experience passes
My kids enjoy it so much. the only negative the place need expansion
Not really much to do for the price they charge.I would consider lowering the entry ticket fee.Otherwise good creational activities for kids.
We loved it it’s such a fun place for kids to play and explore it also has a cafe and a mini theater and also the LEGO characters come out for meet and greet picture sessions
We took our grandchildren there, ages infant to 9, they all had a blast from going on rides to making a lego craft, watching the 4D movie,to interacting in the play area. Our time there was approximately 4 1/2 hours and all kids slept on the car ride home. Only down side...they need a better restaurant choice(or more help in the restaurant) Other than that...awesome place.
Loved the models, movies, and rides, but not enough here for the price.
(Original review 2 stars so please read the full review to see why 5 stars now)Our kids still had some fun. But, for the amount of money you spend to get into this place, much was not working. The 4D movie was only 3D. The ride where you shoot targets, the guns were not working. Those were two reasons why our kids wanted to come. We did tell several employees and their response was, We will look into it. They should have offered a discount for those who were there that day. It was basically an indoor playground with a place to build legos for a family of five to pay $75+ which we could have done for free elsewhere.Update (Dec. 10)... the manager immediately wrote me and apologized for our visit. They are fixing the issues and will let me know when these attractions are up and running. They also sent me a reimbursement for our visit. We will visit again. They took care of us and seem to want to take care of their customers.
Legoland was great was busy on the weekend we went, but got much less busy after 3pm. Rides were fun and the entire place was really engaging for the large age range of kids we had. 3 to 16. Would highly recommend if you love legos or have someone in your group who does. Would highly recommend if you ever played with legos before. We will be going here again.
No value for money. Half of the rides didnt even work. The place is so outdated and not maintained. 4D movie was the only thing kids liked and even it was broken when we were seated. If your kids are not a Lego freaks better spend the money in some other indoor play areas.
My son did have a good time here but the prices were too expensive for what you get. Some of the features like the race car builder were all missing the correct pieces to make it work, and the rides hand blasters were not working along with the 4d water jets not working. I thought the place was going to be a lot larger with more attractions but instead it was a short visit with most of the attractions not working. If your going to charge this much for basically looking at Lego creations, then have a decent maintenance team who can fix the attractions before you open the doors.
This place is excellent! It was not crowded the day we went and my three year old loved it.
Horrible place for a birthday party food was served very cold drinks were hot the server was rude and not helpful just started at the group very weird was rushed out the party room b4 our time they said I would have a number candle n brought me a stick candle I’m very upset with the set up. The price was expensive for such horrible service. Chucky cheese is cheaper but way better n the food is hot! It was horrible service all the way around. I would go to let the kids play it’s fun. But a party I would never do again! Megan was the sever. She needs to be fired!
My kids had fun for their first time going, they love Legos. The prices were a bit high for what you get. We thought it would be alot bigger inside. They enjoyed the short movie, ride & play area!
The prices of the store part were great and they offered a percentage off because im a VIP lego member. Wish the place was bigger because there were so many kids my sons and i couldnt do much building at the activity tables.
So much to see and do. The kids had a blast! We made the 600+ mile trip just to come here and it was worth it.
I decided to take the whole family to LegoLand in Chicago. My wife and kids and I had fun but not as good as I expected, at least not as much fun to come back to this place a second time.Got tickets online for 20 bucks each person Wich was ok.The staff acted like robots because its just another job for them. They didnt make it exciting for us.The place was clean, just that there were Legos everywhere, on the floor, tables, walkways. E.t.c.The place was a bit weak in my opinion. We have more fun at our local arcade than at LegoLand. I was a bit disappointed and Im sure my kids were too, they just dont want to admit it.All the workers standing around doing nothing when one of them could give us a complete tour or something.Good place to go for the first time and thats it. I would not recommend going there a second time.Went to LegoLand super excited and came out super dissatisfied and disappointed.
Great indoor fun for cold weather. Can spend hours without getting bored!
Was it a little expensive? Yes. Did the kids have fun? Yes! Worth it in my opinion and everything is free once you get inside so not bad at all in my opinion! My son is 5 and we spent about 4 hours here, he was more than entertained! We literally all had a blast. There is plenty to do and play with and rides to go on. Btw you can get cheaper tickets at Costco or they have deals on Groupon, I thought it was great for a bday! He felt special and even got to wear a crown. Dont know why there are a ton of reviews complaining. BUT you guys need to put more wheels in the area you build a car and send it down a ramp, we literally couldnt find any and kids were fighting over the wheels.
Save your money. This place is a racket. Legoland is a pile of crappy little Lego places around Chicago mixed with rides and movies that are not worth the 40 minute wait.Go have a nice dinner and avoid this place. Packed was an understatement and service is lacking. Seemed like a good idea but the execution was poor and Ill though out.
My grandson had a great time - and thats what counts. The make your own car to race area has beautiful graphics, but few axles, large tires with no rims, and medium rims with no tires. Been like this the last 2 visits. Also, your members monthly news still only has October activities/sales.
Smaller than I remembered as a kid. Also, the lines at the beginning are pretty big. Inside there are a few attractions that are pretty sweet though.
We like it here! Theres so much to do for kids and adults alike! Kids will definitely enjoy it if theyre into Legos.
1st time here had fun, we would love to return
I thought that it was very good. A little pricey but great for once a year at most. It was crowded when we were there, arrived about 12:30 on a Tuesday. It just got busier as time went on. The 4d movie was good and short. We all enjoyed the virtual reality Lego race (paid extra and it was worth it). All in all a fun time especially for my 7 year
Took my son and a friend who are both LEGO fans to the LEGO Discovery Center. The boys had a blast! I would have given it 5 stars is it wasn’t for the wait to get in even though I pre-bought tickets online. There was only 1 person working ticket entrance, so everyone had to form a single line outside waiting their turn, season pass holders and online purchases were told to wait in lines with everyone else buying tickets on site. After driving 2 1/2 hours to get there, we waiting in line 20 minutes until we could get inside, even though online it says “avoid the wait” with online tickets. Once inside, Everything was great.
Visiting my son for his Navy Boot Camp graduation, all the way from Pennsylvania, and thought we would visit LEGOLAND for the very first time. What an amazing experience! I would recommend this to anyone visit the area.
Great place for little ones. Best deal is to pay for annual membership.
This may not be the worst kids attraction ever, but it’s in the team photo. Every opportunity they had to excel they failed. They encourage you to buy your tickets online 24+ hours in advance and book a time slot (30 min increments). They specifically say print your tickets at home to skip the line when you arrive. We did so and found that everyone had to wait in the same line. We were lucky and only had to wait 30 minutes (in spite of showing up 10 min prior to our time slot). Some waited much longer. The group in front of us didn’t have tickets, when they got to the front they were able to buy tickets but for a time slot in an hour and a half.Once inside it was extremely crowded. You would think the strict adherence to time sorting would keep crowds to a reasonable amount, but that’s not the case. It was madness with kids running around unsupervised. I saw multiple instances of bigger kids pushing over and hurting smaller kids. There are 2 rides. A carnival style spinning swing and a medieval themed shooting ride. Both had 30+ minute waits. The shooting ride was extremely lame. It consisted of riding in a very slowing moving car that drove past still sculptures and monitors playing videos. The upstairs free play area was anarchy. The overcrowdedness was exacerbated here in particular. There is a water table to build a Lego ship and send down a river, a duplo area intended for smaller kids, and a playground. There were zero employees in the area to keep things under control. The bathroom has a soundtrack on loop playing fart noises. There is one family bathroom that had a long line. And one changing area inside a stall in each bathroom. Not nearly sufficient to serve the crowd allowed in the building. The only redeeming quality of this place were the Lego exhibits which were very cool. However, at a minimum of $16/person there is no way I can give this place more than 1 star. Youre better off spending that money buying a Lego set for your kids to use at home and then going to the park.
Took my daughter at 3 years old and again now at 5 years old. Both times she had a blast! I can say though she had more fun now at 5 because she was able to ride both the rides and understood more. If you’re not subscribed to their email list I definitely recommend you sign up! We got our tickets for 1/2 the price and after purchasing we even got a promo for another discount!
It was my first time there with my niece and nephews. They had such a great time but I was very confused. When I bought the tickets online it said we would received a Christmas ornament and when I asked about it no one knew what I was taking about.. I wasn’t given any direction as where to go for the photo package I bought and didn’t receive. So maybe some more information at the front counter especially for first timers.
Always fun, It was Star Wars Theme day! The kids were loving it! The amount of hours put in to create this place must be astronomical! Amazing if you have never seen it. A must if you have kids under 10 and are in the Chicagoland area!
I only visited the store, and not the museum . The store is really small, smaller than the one in Woodfield mall. Warning to parents - theres no price tags on the items here, so you dont know what you are paying for until you are at the register. before bringing them here, be sure that your kid is reasonable and can take a no, this is too expensive, were not getting this at the register.
My 5-year old and I LOVE LEGOS! This is a cheap $grab. Its pretty obvious, yes, but i still had hope. You CAN find some tough-to-find sets in the shop, though, and you dont need to pay admission to shop. 2 Star entertainment experience, 5 Star retail experience.
Great time for kids and the kids in each adult.Height and age requirement definitely recommend to follow. Go online and purchase through website and save 25%.Also stay away from peak hours. Too busy to get on rides and try everything.
Amazing place. the details are awesome. great for kids and adults. so much fun
