I really only had been once or twice here before without kids in the past. We had in the past here attended a birthday party before, they also offer a very birthday deal in general here, they also do for smaller sized events as well rooms are upstairs and game areas are mixed so it’s not a place to let your child run free. There are adults and alcoholic beverages being served. That’s how I kept my sanity. To be fair my son thinks it’s the best place ever; some neat “ride like” games and fun team playing options too, if not a pandemic I’d say go. Kids in daylight hours and adults only after 2 pm. Great stay and play deals for food too. Can’t wait, they really should offer a small rental option for small house hold / family groups.

My teenage daughter and friends came here after a movie. They had some issues and the Manager Josh Richardson took great care to make sure everything was resolved. It was refreshing to have a Manager recognize and respect the importance of their customers, regardless of their age. We will definitely be returning here regularly as a family, thanks to Josh’s excellent response.

I live 45 min away so I made sure to retrace all my steps before leaving... i was worried someone took it. The next day we drove here again and Thank God for Joshua the manager. He had found it last night and put it in the vault for safety. He was extremely nice, informed us of their karaoke nights and gave us an all day pass for the inconvenience, that we caused on our own selves! You rock Joshua! Terrible upkeep of games. For the prices they charge to play, I would expect newer and higher quality games. I attempted to play time crisis, a traditional arcade shooter, and it would not recognize the shots fired due to the poor upkeep of the gun controller. We celebrated my great-grandson’s 3rd birthday at GameWorks in July. Everyone (especially the birthday boy) had so much fun. The party area was so festive and clean. Laura, our server, was the best — so gracious and attentive. She answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. We all enjoyed the food, followed by a lot of game time. I would absolutely have a party here again. It was the most fun and stress-free party I have ever hosted. Thank you, GameWorks, and especially Laura.

Bought the groupon for unlimited play on the arcade machines upstairs. We found there were no less than ten broken machines up there. Of the ones that worked, maybe half that we got to play didnt have any sound. A lot of the games seemed like they were 20 years or older and really showed it . Four or five really nice newer games at this location. Good luck getting a chance to play them. Not just broken games. There was also a toilet that wouldnt flush in the mens room, and a stall that wouldnt stay closed in the ladies. Giant maintenance problems here.We were in a GameWorks in Myrtle Beach in 2019. None of the same problems. Seems like this location is circling the drain. We probably wont be back.

Good arcade for older kids and adults. Most of the equipment is in good condition but if you go at a busy time, intermittent network problems interfere with swiping your card to play games. This isnt a great place for younger kids that want to play redemption games. Theyre overpriced and the ticket payout is very low. Plus, most redemption games are geared towards school-age kids, none for younger kids 3-4 years old. The XD game experience on the first floor is really fun for older kids and adults. Most of the first floor is redemption gaming and the second floor is traditional arcade games: shooters, fighting games, driving games, music games.

All of the Dance Dance Revolution machines were broken and quiet. Pump It Up worked, but you couldnt hear the music. Lacked fun games, hardly won any tickets from anything. Dave & Busters isnt great, but this place was worse. Honestly the best game in this place was Beat Saber, but it was so expensive and had a line, and no sanitation wipes. So, when you play it, youre putting your face into someones sweat. Yummy! Best service aspect about this place was the polite bartender who was running the bar alone on a Saturday night. Only down fall they are fairly costly. We purchased the 200+ credits for $40 only to see that most games were 10 credits or more. They charge a $2 fee for the game card. Now I see why people were getting the Groupon. We didn’t eat but the food did smell good. We came around 1:30pm, wasn’t crowded at all but when left a little after 3 it’s was getting crowded. Today I am placing an updated review in response to the ONE star review that I posted on yesterday for Gameworks Schaumburg from my personal account Ebony RDHToday the COO of Gameworks took time from his own schedule to call me from California, he apologized for the inconvenience and wanted to do what he could to rectify my concern about my sons birthday party and the refund that will be issued due to the venues closing as a result of the pandemic. Therefore, I am also taking the time to addend my review from yesterday. The COO explained what the situation is with refunds and why they arent being issued, not only for my scheduled party from March, but for other parties as well. Due to the venue closures after the effects of the pandemic, it is difficult to issue refunds back to credit cards because these financial transactions are based on the venues locations, as well the locations of the computers by which the transactions transpired; therefore, they have to wait until the venues are open again to issue the refunds. Now to be clear, when I spoke with Steve Kovaka, he explained that the refund process may take a little while, but he was not as detailed in explaining the actual situation, as the COO was today when we spoke. The hold on the refund is completely understandable and I have no problem with waiting however long it takes for my refund. My main concern is the fact that, during my conversation with Steve on April 30th, he requested my name and my childs name, for whom the party was booked, as well as when the party was scheduled for, which was March 20, 2020. I emailed this information to him as soon as we ended our conversation. All Steve needed to do was confirm that he received my email and that, yes he had forwarded my information over to the finance department or team. Thats it, but our problem began when I had to keep calling to leave voicemails and send emails to him to confirm that he received my information from May 1st until May 28th, that is what was alarming and quite disrespectful. At any rate, now that I have a clear understanding on the situation at hand and I look forward to my families first real visit at Gameworks Schaumburg, one day in the future.

I booked a birthday party for my son with Gameworks Schaumburg for March 20, 2020. Unfortunately someone called to inform me that we would have to cancel, as the venue was being closed due to the pandemic. Mary offered me a refund or some extra perks for the party if I wanted to reschedule. I chose to reschedule and Mary stated that she would call me closer to April 1, 2020 to inform me whether or not they would be reopening that week or not and we could make further plans from there. I did not hear from Mary at all that week and decided not to reach out to the venue, but instead I would wait until April 30th to see if the venue would be able to reopen according to the Governors plans. Towards the end of the month, I began to email Mary as well as the original coordinator (Jenna)that I booked the party through. I received no response from anyone. I called and left multiple voicemails at the main phone number for Gameworks Schaumburg as well as any of the extensions that were referred to in email correspondence with Gameworks. On April 30, 2020, I called Gameworks again and I reached Steve Kovaka, he informed me that the incoming calls were being routed to his phone. He gave me his email address and informed me that I could email him with the details of my party and he could forward the information to the finance department so they could start the refund process of my deposit. I emailed him the next day, (at the same email address) to see if received my email and he claimed he did not, so I emailed him again stating the same information. I am requesting a refund for my deposit for a party that was scheduled for March 20th at 4 pm and still nothing. I have called Gamework Schaumburg mulitiple times since May 1st and the phone calls are no longer being routed to Steves phone. I have left countless voicemails on their main voicemail as well as 4 voicemails on the general managers voicemail and no one has responded to me. At this point they can forget getting my business at anytime and if it was worth it to me I would take them to small claims court because not only is this poor customer service, its down right disrespect. We are all experience something that we have never experienced before with this pandemic, but not to reach out to me is ridiculous. What I desire is communication from them, even if the financial portion takes a while. However, I get extremely offended when people just ignore and disrespect me, that is a problem and though it is going to hurt my son, I will not book his party here next year because I cant expect them to handle a party if they cant handle something as simple as a phone call or email.

Its worth it sometimes, sadly theres some games that just dont work, or you lose the game because of 1 button that doesnt work (Star Wars: Battle Pod) or Mario Kart Aracade (#3 card swipe did not work / #4 was unlinked from the rest of the other 2 booths.) Not sure if they actually check the games or wait until someone speaks up, would be 4 stars but the maintenance of games is what gets this score.

Gameworks for Birthday Parties need some work !!I was looking for a fun place for my 6 yr olds Birthday party.I googled and Gameworks caught my attention. We visited the place, spoke with the sales person and finalized it.Here is a summary of things I felt worked well and did not work well. What worked well.1. The Sales process was really good. Rachel was very warm and friendly. Had great ideas and supported us throughout the journey.2. We had to postpone the event 1 day prior due to worsening weather in Chicago, Rachel helped us. It was really appreciable3. The gaming area. Kids and parents just loved it. Gaming cards for 1 hour in timed games and 20 credits games, which was very good.4. The server provided during the event was very helpful. Most guests turned up late, server kept calm and helped us through. Boxes provided for leftoversWhat did not work well.1. No event coordinator. We entered and we were practically on our own instructing the server provided. We have been to multiple parties at different places e.g. Chuck-e-Cheese or Pump it up. A event coordinator helps take the pressure off you. No such thing here.2. The cake was a disaster. We were expecting around 50 kids (20 kids + 30 adults), we had communicated this. The plain chocolate cake was so tiny that it was literally embarrassing. The server did his best to cut it into small pieces but literally had to scrape it out to serve to guests3. The layout, we were promised a room and the place outside to accommodate the guests. When we saw gameworks initially, the place outside looked good, was well lit with many tables and chairs. During the party, the place outside was dark the tables chairs taken away.4. Pizzas were burnt. The dinner was literally cake and pizza and both were not what we expected.5. Few nagging things. The sales teams need to better synced up. The kid is supposed to get a gift, no one knew about it, such things can be avoided with an event coordinator.Overall since the games were held after dinner, guests left happy. If the dinner was held later, I am not sure what my rating would have been.It is definitely a great place and the sales cycle is good. The final execution requires a lot of work so that memorable parties are held here.

Pretty disappointed with each interaction I had with the staff. My friends and I arrived last night at 8:15pm, and headed straight to the bar, where it appeared to be closed. Im talking paper cups on top of the bottles, ALL of the menus pulled, select lights turned off, and no bartender to be found. We waited a few minutes, and out from the back comes a (clearly annoyed by our presence) bartender, who when I asked him what time the bar closes rolled his eyes and said 10pm. So an hour and a half before closing seemed too close to closing time for this bartender to want to serve us without wanting us to know we were inconveniencing him...Then we play for an hour, and try to redeem our tickets at 9:30... and the redemption center was already closed. The redemption center is the one place that is guaranteed to be a customers last stop in the building before leaving. I could understand if they would shut the games down a half hour before close, to encourage guests to make their way TOWARDS the redemption center to make their final selections, but it felt like we were no longer welcome to spend our money there, and the business was supposed to still be open for another half hour.Bottom line, we drove an hour to get here to celebrate a birthday, and my entire experience felt as though absolutely no one who worked there actually wanted to be there and just wanted to close early and leave instead of interacting with any customers. There are many other arcades, next time, well just be going somewhere else where the staff actually wants customers. That way we can be one less inconvenience for them.

Periodic tournament hosting. Full bar. Adults only hours. Full kitchen and restaurant. The prepay card system is convenient but a bit complex and confusing. It lists at least four different units of value from credits to dollars. Its hard to understand how much is on the card. Its also hard to understand how much a game costs as two different numbers are displayed and neither made sense. It would be better if you simply loaded dollars on the card which then was represented in credits and then each game simply listed how many credits it costs.

The bartenderss, a middle aged dude and a guy in his 60s were not friendly at all and the Cosmo I had was TINY and $9. It tasted like simple syrup, so sweet. If you want food you have to sit down and get a waitress which takes forever. The bathrooms and place were very DIRTY! Make sure you guys wash hands before leaving. Seriously most of the games were not working properly so we lost points and the games are pre programmed, NOT FUN! Very honest review. Its a pretty great arcade. Prices can be a little crazy per game, which they mask with the card, but you expect that when you walk in the door.

This place is special to me. I have been going since high school for midnight. Now my kids are enjoying a similar arcade experience. Friendly staffs with new machines at a very affordable rate. Highly recommended!

I was able to get a $20 Groupon which gave me unlimited games plus 100 credits. That was a good deal. I am glad I didnt pay full price. I would like to see more games though. Yeah there are a lot, but truly they line the perimeter of the place. Its not like its wall to wall. Three pinball machines and one was out of order, so that was disappointing. Also, where are the classic games? Hidden in a corner room? Finally $10/beer?! We arent at a concert. Please.
