I thoroughly enjoyed the island. Can over with friends and walked the shoreline. Found several shells and sand dollars.

Wassaw Island is a phenomenal national wildlife refuge. I took my SCAD class to the north beach yesterday and we had a great time experiencing the beauty of the bone yard and exploring the beach and dune systems. What a joy to have this incredible island treasure preserved for us humans and wildlife to enjoy now and well into the future.

We have anchored here several times. It is always so quiet and peaceful here. Only accessible by boat!

Only accessible by boat. A boaters paradise. Wildlife hikes around the beach and through the woods are great for the kids.

Beautiful place. Need to import some of the previously endemic species such as Florida panthers and Red Wolves.

The reserve of Vasso National is very beautiful. Here you can take a wonderful boat trip on the water. Campfires are prohibited as well as night camping. But this does not prevent to enjoy the beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the green beautiful nature.

One of the most beautiful barrier islands in Georgia. Great fishing, beautiful wildlife and scenery. It does not get any better for coastal Georgia!

In proper weather conditions it have been great.

Pristine barrier island. Beach is deserted during the week, about twenty boats on the weekend. No dogs allowed. No fires. No overnight camping.

The history behind it was enriching. The island itself was a beautiful natural wilderness. I visited right after hurricane Matthew and it was an incredible experience.

Simply amazing spot to walk the beach and explore. We usually go during the week and there rarely other people.

Rent a boat to get there - just be watch the tides! We loved the natural, rural, less-touristy feel and enjoyed the beach while meeting some great people.
