Unfortunately, you must schedule a time in advance in order to tour the interior of the home. If you walk-in without a set tour appointment there may or may not be space on the next tour time to accommodate your party. You cannot tour the inside without a guide. Call in advance to secure a time with the number of people in your group. A small garden & a statue is the only thing you can see from the outside (through the gate).
It goes without saying this is the place for every Girl Scout to be when visiting Savannah. The tour took the girls back in time and gave them a real view of a day in the life of Juliet.Outdoor garden was a hilight as well as dressing in period.Such a fantastic experience for both the girls and chaperones...
Had a great visit this afternoon. A must see for anyone who has ever been or even known a girl scout. You learn so much about the woman who started the movement that changed the life for so many women in my life. Inspiring just begins the feeling i feel after our visit today. Do yourself a favor when in Savannah... make sure you visit for yourself.
Disappointed that I couldnt get a better picture.
The house is beautiful, and we loved Luke, our tour guide :)
Loved the tour and the history. I cant wait to take our whole troop soon!
Savannah,GA has a lot of history some that have been left untold. My first time visiting on such a beautiful sunny day.
A very nice place with a lot of history for girl scouts. Interesting for all
No, this isnt a review of ghost lore... My daughter and I signed up as independent Girl Scouts a few years ago and quickly found the administration to be relatively stifling and the organization of events and gatherings was fairly lackluster. And needlessly said, as a result, participation is almost non-existent. We tried to visit our council museum one time, and they said my daughter (6) was too young to appreciate the exhibits; and even if she wanted to try it, they didnt allow very small children (2) on the property. So, they wouldnt even let us in after making a 4 hour round trip to see the place.
Had a great time in Savannah, Georgia exploring where Juliette Lowe grew up and learning about how she got the girl scouts going.
If you have a girl scout or were one, go on this tour. It was actually really interesting. The house & grounds are pretty as well. Stevie was our guide and she was very honest in her knowledge of the time period and sensitive to the role of slavery with the Low family. No you cannot buy girl scout cookies here.
Very informative tour. Guide was very nice and knowledgeable !
Absolutely gorgeous home. Lots of history. Loved every moment of the tour.
Our troop loved our tour. Our guide was very informative. We have brownies through Senior scouts and they all enjoyed it
Our tour was very well done. Very informative and interesting. Did not know Juliette Low was so artistically talented. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
My tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and kept things interesting. I love the interactive exhibit at the end of the tour and the canvases on display.
A very informative tour and great history. A must visit for all Girl Scouts.
Enjoyed the tour, hearing the stories about the lives of Daisy and her family. The historic home and furnishings are also a treasure.
Beautiful home! Enjoyed the step back in time. My tour was exceptional! The staff went above accommodating my last minute arrival. Thank you so much! ️
As a former girl scout, this was a pretty cool place. I was with others, so I didnt get a chance to take the tour. Im sure its great, though!
If you have any girls in your family... Like moms, sisters, daughters... Or you are one. Go.If you are a guy. Go.Its a great learning experience.
Great tour and amazing place to visit. The staff is super friendly and very informative. Is a must for all girl scout. My daughters favorite tour on our vacation.
So glad to be able to share the experience with my daughter.
A wonderful story about the founder of the girl scouts....the tour though a tad pricey was very informative and interesting...a great staff
Wonderful old home. Guide was excellent.
Took my 2 daughters and had a private tour. A must see for any girl scout. Our guide was very nice and well versed in the history of the home and scouts.
We had our Girls bridging ceremony there. We loved it.
Great history but kids are easily bored. The 40 minute tour is more than enough
Highly recommend! Ive been to the Juliette Gordon-Low house twice on tours and find it very informative of the family and history associated. Beautifully kept and wonderful depiction of 19th century living!
We havent been on a tour yet, but its on our list of things to do. We love the gift shop! All things Girl Scouts, unique handmade gifts, and a really great selection of books.
Beautifully restored home with wonderful period pieces. Knowledgeable staff was very informative and answered every question. Very hands on and informative! The whole experience makes me want to learn all about this interesting, multi-faceted woman.
Absolutely loved our tour and guide!
Our Girl Scout loved seeing the birthplace of the first Girl Scout!
Beautiful tour. Daisys story is worth hearing as Im prompted to read more. There was plenty of time for you to enjoy the garden area.
My wifes family, the Gordons have been upset with the changes. Both she and I agree though that with tour groups seeing the history first and gaining an appreciation of Daisy Gordon Lowe, the room which is now interactive displays will be good for empowering young girls for their future.
Nice tour.
The Wayne-Gordon House at 10 Oglethorpe Avenue East in Savannah, Georgia, at the corner of Bull Street and Oglethorpe Avenue, is part of the Juliette Gordon Low Historic District, which consists of three buildings--the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, also known as the Wayne-Gordon House; First Girl Scout Headquarters, which was the carriage house for the Andrew Low House, converted for use by the Girl Scouts in 1912; and the Andrew Low House. The site, which was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1965 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966, is significant for his association with Juliette Gordon Low and the founding of the Girl Scouts of America. The Wayne-Gordon House was built in 1818-1821 for James Moore Wayne, then the mayor of Savannah. He later sold the house to Juliette Gordon Lows grandparents and her parents. In 1911, she met Robert Baden Powell, founder of the Boys Scouts. The following year, she launched the Girl Scouts movement in this country. In 1953, the Girl Scouts of America purchased the house and restored it to serve as a portal to the Girl Scout movement. Opened in 1956 as a historic house museum, the home features many original Gordon family furnishings, including artwork by Juliette Gordon Low herself. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday.
Very informative staff. Beautiful house and lots to discover about girl scouts and Juliette Low
Very beautiful home and glad we went, but I felt the presentation could have been much more interesting and engaging. I was also disappointed that, at the end, we only got a few minutes in the library which I felt was the most interesting part.
This is such a great place for a girl scout!
Interesting tour... Highly recommend.
You can tour Juliette Lows birthplace home or visit the gift shop downstairs for no charge
Pinning ceremony was awesome!
I will be leaving my old review at the bottom for history.First off, thank you Girl Scouts for the addition of a page on your web site that clearly calls out the days you are closed including the 5K day, I have a feeling that this will be a huge help!We returned on 4/29/2017 and were able to visit the shop and tour the house. The Gift shop was really great and had just enough stuff so that you can get a reminder of your trip without having a bunch of stuff that you wouldnt be interested in.The House tour was wonderful and presented a lot of information about the founder of Girl Scouts along with a lot of Savannah history. I was quite surprised at the condition of the house, it was in excellent condition and it is hard to believe that thousands of people visit every year. All around this was a great historic site, not just for the Girl Scout history, but for the Savannah history as well. This is my old review, I might have been a bit harsh, but kudos to the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace fro stepping up and making it so that others dont have to suffer my fate.Get it together Girl Scouts, I was there the day of some 5K road race on a Saturday when they were supposed to be open but nope, they were closed without even a sign or explanation I might add. I am not exaggerating when I say that in the few minuets I was there about thirty people stopped and said Oh, there not open, too bad I wanted to see this. Among those people was a not too happy looking Girl Scout in uniform.I will edit this review if I ever get to actually see inside the place. You have a web site, and the ability to make signs you might have wanted to do that on 11/5/2016
I hadnt been there in decades. Wonderful improvements have been made. Especially liked Daisys original art work.
Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of the Girl Scouts. She was also DIY person as our tour guide said she made several of things in the house. We were also told she put her initals in the wrought iron gate. It was interesting learning about Juliette Gordon Low.

A great place to visit. An awesome story and a beautiful home.
A lot of solid antiques. Many of them are genuine, but only a quarter to half is actually tied to JGL. Short tour, barely an hour. Its 15 per adult with no discounts. Tour is three rooms on bottom, possible three on top time permitting. At the end is a library full of interactive modern books all written by women.Overall the history told is of JGL, founder of Girl Scouts and tells a story of how she really progressed women forward.Learned alot of new things, as a Boy Scout, it was very interesting since the Girl Scouts were derived from an organization started by The BSAS founders wife, Agnes Baden-Powell.Highly recommend for any former girl scout of any history. Good price for what you get to experience.
Loved learning more about her.
Great and very interesting tour. Theyll be aware that this is a Girl Scout thing and there will be a bunch of small children on your tour. If you were or have any interest in the Girl Scouts definitely interesting but that is the focus of the tour.Tours are given every hour at about a quarter past, make a reservation ahead of time in the summer
If you have a Girl Scout or are a Girl Scout, this is a bucket list must visit. Great information on the founder of the Girl Scouts. Nice little shop with Girl Scout items also.
I went on free museum day.. Short tour was fun.. But I hope you see more of the house on a paid tour.
I am a lifer girl scout. My college-age daughters went through all levels of scouting and are lifetime members, therefore this place was much more than just a historic landmark on the to-do list. However this place is a treasure - so many period artifacts and historical facts of interest to all. Our guide did a great job and answered all questions. The gift shop is lovely, with not just girl scout items, but also women-juried products.
Girl Scouting has a special place in my heart.
Great lace to show history of the GS program but very delicate recommend no little kids
Super friendly staff with a knowledgeable GS enthusiast tour guide. Add this stop to the lengthy list of reasons to visit Savannah.
Such a beautiful tour. Our troop learned so much about their scouting heritage. I highly recommend this tour to any girl scout visiting Savannah.
History speaks for itself. I didnt have time to take the tour, next trip for sure!
A beautiful house! A well stocked gift shop of trinkets girl scout related....what i wanted was a box of cookies! They dont sell them year round
A must see for any girl scout- young or old.
Mybwife thought it expensive so we didnt do the tour.
I would not recommend. Our tour guide was very monotone and also hard to follow. Also, the house has little if any relevancy to the actual girl scouts. Sad!
The staff was amazing me and my girl scouts loved it will go back
Great museum with very educational and personable staff. They were very patient with all the questions the children and troop leaders had for the staff.Lots of steps, so wear sneakers.Plus a great pin (for purchase) to commemorate the visit which my little scout csn wear on the front of her vests forever. My only reccomendation wouldve been a short video of Daisy & her accomplishments
The tour is subpar and very hard to follow. The house is very cool but a bit expensive and has very little to do with the girl scouts.
Must pay to see. Not supportive of volunteers efforts.
Wonderful place to visit.
Finally got to visit...been wanting to go since I was a Brownie Girl Scout in the early 80s. Wow!! I just love history.
Wonderful tour of the childhood home of Daisy Low. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and keep us interested in learning more. Great way for all girls to see first hand that girls can do anything!
I am a girl scout and in my opinion, this place was amazing
My daughter, a girl scout, really liked the JGL house. She learned a lot as so did I. We really liked the decor and preservation efforts. The garden was lovely. The tour guide was awesome. She interacted with us and was very knowledgeable about the house.
A great tour stop as you explore Savannah for both Girl Scouts and non. Juliette is a great role model for women today and its wonderful that her home and life story are shared with the public.
My was a leader for +20 years great tour and history.
Great place to take Girl Scouts. A beautiful home and the tour guides are awesome and very knowledgeable
A little pricing but the tour was great
WE SAW A GHOST - - We visited the Juliette Low house on our recent trip to Georgia - April 8, 2016. During the tour my husband took a photo of the our two girls (both 13) in the mirror - he thought it was a cool shot - on his smart phone. When we looked through the snaps that evening - - we were all shocked to see the GHOST standing behind our daughter Jessica. I guess these things really do happen! - - we submitted it in the photos on this site.
Very nice place. Be prepared to park in garage and pay if not full, otherwise have quarters for the meter. Our guide was very pleasant and gave a great tour. Short walk to the Low home (where she lived once married),
Visiting Savannah today & tomorrow. We were walking round and spotted Juliette Gordon Lows birthplace and decided to pay a visit. We were given an excellent tour by Stevie who gave us the complete history of Daisy. It was very interesting. Stevie also took our photo on the balcony. I am a Queens Guide and am now assisting with North East Essex County and cannot wait to get back to England and let my Guides know where I have visited.
Nice history lesson. Enjoyed the tour.
My girl scout daughter loved the museum
Girl scout nerd all the way! This was awesome!
I learned a lot of cool stuff
A must see in Savannah if you are or were ever a Girl Scout. I wasnt, but I enjoyed visiting the house. A cute little gift shop is in the basement for purchasing patches exclusive only to the Lowe house.
Best place for Girl Scouts in 4th grade and up to visit.
We went to Savannahs historic district and decided to start out tour here. However, it was Independence Day and on their website there was no mentioning of it being closed. The outside was very nice and the garden area (what we managed to see from it) looked decent too it would have been nice to go in though.
If you have ever been a Girl Scout, this is a must stop. The tour is exceptional. Bookstore and gift shop will have you bringing home patches and souvenirs to remember how dynamic Julliete Gordon Low was.
Loved the amount of detail during the tour. It really brings the history and belief of Juliette alive. The girls learned more about the true meaning of Girl Scouts. Thank you
Lovely house with a fascinating (and empowering) story. Loved the tour and the memoribilia!
Amazing history, beautiful home.
