Nice big park. A lot of walking trails, bring good shoes that you dont mind getting dirty the ground was wet and mushy. They have an entrance fee of $6. For 2-8 people,$4 for single person,$2 for pedestrian and bicycles,$60 for 30 or more people. They offer camping and cabins as well as bicycle, canoe and kayak rentals.
Great place to first stop by before hiking in this beautiful state park. Always visit repeatedly because there will always be something different around the boardwalk. Definitely always have alligators relaxing in the waters and herons as well. Beautiful view of the environment and the lake.
Large park. Lots of things to do. Several camping areas.
Great walks, birding, and gators
Shaded single lane trails plentiful however, considerable damage from feral hogs.
I love Myakka, my husband and I always go whenever were in the area. Its a nice walk or drive. Just try to go when its been a bit drier, if you go when theres been loads of rain, the river will be too high to see any gators, and boy do they have the biggest around! Also, definitely try to go during peak migration season for the bird watching! Certain times of year you can see so many varieties!
The boat ride was amazing. The captain really knew the area. Very education as well as funny!
Beautiful and a fabulous location for bird watching.
Beautiful walk through a tropical state park. Miles of trails to explore. Lots of alligators!
A great state park....alot to do here....
Great place to ride a bike or walk. Very well kept. Looking for gators? Need to look no further. We saw 7 lined up even with an egret riding one. Must go early, open at 8am. Gets high 80s+ before noon.
Loved it! Cute cabins and great camping areas!
I had a great time! So much wild life and so relaxing..
Nice views but the boardwalk could use a little bit of TLC. Make sure to bring a stick or broom to knock down the spider webs.
Beautiful park. Would recommend especially if you have kids.
Loved seeing all the wild alligators everywhere.
This is a special place. Take the 4 mile round trip hike to Deep Hole where youll see dozens of alligators in their natural setting. Fascinating!
Very nice view and nice to get back to nature
Great boardwalk. We saw many birds, including two eagles, one of whom caught and ate a fish as we watched. Great blue heron walking around carrying a fish that was too big for it to swallow.
Relaxing and scenic. Enjoyed the birdwalk.
Saw alligators up close and personal. Dont see that in iowa. Unless at a zoo.
Amazing place to go with family, lots of peace, tranquility and energy
Beautiful trail & raised walk
Love it everytime I go
Really beautiful
I really enjoyed my visit to Myakka. Its a large Park and plenty of places to stop off and see the wildlife. I went there with my camera to hunt for birds and found plenty. Make sure you bring a good lens because a lot of them are away from the road a bit. They were sufficient out houses available and were as clean as you could expect for an outhouse
Such a tranquil and beautiful place! The weather was gorgeous and I saw pink flamingos there today!! I love this park
Never disappoints. This place
Ways stop here when visiting FL. Always see gators un the wild. Nice place for a hike.
We love this place, a quick getaway to Old Florida.
Look at the Beauty
Go there early or late very hot.
We loved it. Rainy season caused the hike to be a bit swampy but we were able to get to the short canopy tower and still be dry. The top of the tower was neat. We took the airboat tour. It was only $15/adult and worth it. A full hour and the guide kept us informed and entertained.Park entrance cost was only $6 for the car off us. We brought a lunch but the cafe offered a great variety and we ended up getting ice cream later. Be sure to bring bug spray. This turned into a fun 4 hours for us. The bird walk was well worth the few minutes to get there.
Where are the birds? Well bring your best binoculars or spotting scope. Most of the bird viewing is of the water birds on the lake and across the other side. My visit was in the afternoon and I was told by the local birders present that the very best viewing is in the early morning and late afternoon.Just the beauty of the area is worth the visit and of course the birdwalk is one of many things to do in Myakka State Park.
Family loves camping or just enjoying a day trip
Easily accessible by car with just a short walk across a wheelchair friendly boardwalk to the viewing pier. Shade structures and benches are available, as are some informational signs featuring some of the birds you may encounter. Unless youre a hardcore birdwatcher, 15-20 minutes is plenty of time to see this feature of the park.
The boat ride is great. Capt Robert was awesome. Knew a lot about the area and he was funny too!
Didn’t see a lot of birds but saw alagators looking for mates
Beautiful park with lots of birds and walking trails.
Amazing view today and the weather was perfect.
Always enjoy a ride around the park. Saw 4 baby limpkins, dozen adults. High water at the bird walk & alligators grunting
Fun to see all the birds.
Fun for kids and adults. nice
Plenty of birds and accessible boardwalk, just be sure to bring your binoculars. It might be more exciting in the wet season.
Flooded trails right now scare wildlife due to water
Really wonderful Park. Much nicer than the everglades, where most tourists go to. I would highly recommend a visit to this state park.
Great place to spend the day
This place is amazing and I never get tired of going
Wonderful! Lots of wildlife. Will go back.
Nice to be out in nature, biked from entrance to entrance and got some good miles in. Lots of wildlife to view.
Birds, gators, vultures, busy but not crowded on a Tuesday, forgot our binoculars and good camera, only had a few hours, on t road to elsewhere, couldnt enjoy it all, wonderful park, well be back, gift shop, lunch bar and tour boat
The volunteer working there was extremely kind and helpful. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THERE WAS A WILD, TALKING CROW!
Peaceful Beautiful
Love this place. A place to see the true beauty of Florida.
Even though it was really dry while we were there, we still saw at least 5 different species of birds out there! Cant wait to go back when the rains come.
So much Wildlife to see at sunset. Saw at least 15 Gators and at least that many deer, just driving slow with our eyes open
Very good place. You will see lots of gators.
Great park for camping, hiking, biking, bird watching, deer and alligators galore.
Nice and peaceful walk
Wow a huge park! Dear, alligators, lots of birds.
Really hot in June. Last tour goes out really in afternoon. Air boats are cattle cars.
Canopy walk gives out standing views over the park.
