The place is awesome! We did Area 941 and it was definitely challenging and I highly recommended it if you are looking for a escape room to do. Also they have good beer. I’m definitely going back to play more escape rooms and try their virtual reality games.

We have done both the Egyptian themed and Greek themed VR escape rooms and had a BLAST both times! Fun for any age.

Came here for a company event with my entire team and we had a blast! The AC was broken the night we went but they set up a bunch of fans for us and accommodated very well. Great rate for such a big group and we all loved it. Amazing phenomenal staff. The bar tender was sweet, efficient, and had great recommendations, and we chatted about VR and everything with the employees. Absolutely great experience, will be back.

Extremely tasty cocktails made by Whitney, their bartender. The VR games are highly addictive, especially Arizona Sunshine, and if youre not familiar with VR games, theres a very simple tutorial to get acclimated before you start playing. I also really loved the free retro games - tons of classic console/arcade games to play while enjoying your drink!

I brought a group for the VR gaming and was not disappointed at either the service we received from the staff or the quality of the VR rigs. Not only were all the employees very polite and easygoing, it was simple to get hooked up to the systems and play for an hour together.I will say that reservations are a must! We tried to walk in, but had to wait around an hour for another group to go through. They only have a few booths, so odds are that someone is going to be playing when you come in (not to mention the time it takes to clean up after somebody uses it - an absolute plus but still takes some time). At least we were able to play some (free!) arcade games and get some drinks while we waited!

Shooting zombies in the face in VR was viscerally satisfying and exciting in a way that is very hard to explain in a non-incriminating way. I highly recommend getting a friend and going for it.Also the emulators have basically every arcade game ever, and they sell a fairly eclectic array of drinks both alcoholic and not, so even if all the VR booths are in use its still a great place to chill out with a any number of friends.

Really cool experience! I kept laughing at myself, because I kept getting scared of things that werent really there. Definitely need to come back to try more games. Theres a small cute bar that you can chill at after playing and watch others play. The VR headsets are placed at the front of the location facing the windows, so its also entertaining watching others react to the games.

Escape Reality brings the 90s cyberpunk movie experience to life while also giving me the dream of being able to play classic arcade games with endless continues. I own 2 vr headsets yet I still attend this place because I love a place where I can hang out and be nerdy. The staff is super helpful and awesome. If you live in the Sarasota area and haven’t tried vr you have no excuse. Come check this place out. It’s a great option for those curious about the technology but are unsure if it’s for them.

Michael and Suzan were so accommodating and awesome! We made a reservation for my birthday and did not know they were closed for Christmas Eve. They opened up the bar for us to be able to do the Area 941 escape room. We escaped with 2 minutes to spare! We had a blast and will definitely be back. The room was a fun sci fi theme which was perfect for our Star Wars loving family. Thanks again for a great birthday.

Impossible to have an immersive VR experience here. We did a VR escape room, and since there aren’t private rooms, we could hear the employee talking loudly nonstop to the other people in the bar. A few times it was so loud that my partner and I couldn’t communicate through the microphones on the headset because we couldn’t hear each other over the background noise. Additionally, since the rooms are not private, we could hear other customers talking about us while playing, which made me feel a little unsafe since they could have easily walked right up to me without me having any idea. I definitely wouldn’t have done this without my partner there. The VR crashed at one point; and since they couldn’t figure out how to fix it, we had to start our escape room over after about 20 min. Luckily we finished in the reduced time, and we were given a 10% discount for the inconvenience, which was appreciated.

Its a ton of fun. Very nice staff. A bit pricy outside of happy hour though.

Vance was AMAZING! What a Gem. He was wonderful. The experience was expensive even though it was super cool. The price should have been lower, on an EMPTY Tuesday night for locals. May I suggest some marketing in the OFF SEASON? But Lance was a fantastic guide into the virtual world.

Whitney is super nice. It was my first time trying vr, I really enjoyed myself. I came on a Tuesday and it was nice and slow, no wait time. Next time I visit Florida Ill come back

Okay. Being linked up with friends in a motion-capture virtual world was more than cool. Add in a video game themed full liquor bar to boot, and youve got a killer night out!!

Fulfill your Hackers fantasy! Awesome aesthetic with a full bar with specialty drinks ( Get the Triforce) and sake too. There are 4 emulation consoles with over 1000 games and they dont take money. Also there are a couple of cabinets in the back lounge and some old school cabinets that take quarters. But will all of that I havent even mentioned the VR! With the first 30 minutes at $20 and $15 after you really cant go wrong and the game selection is great. The staff has always been nice and helpful and honestly let your nerd flags fly high when your here!

Great place to come with your friends! The drinks are on point for our adult patrons. I played one of there horror VR simulations, and was very happy with the experience. I love being scared and they delivered, but they have all sorts of options to choose from. Come and try it out for yourself! Rich D

VERY FIRST VR experience and I loved the options I had to choose from. Used my artistic ability to build 3D objects with virtual reality, enjoyed cocktails with friends, and I am pumped to go back to explore the arcade games! The experience was cool because all employees were educated on VR and having fun in a chill environment.

My friend and I stumbled into this place on accident, not really sure what it was. We went inside and were immediately intrigued by video game decor on the walls. a friendly employee explained how they had retro games we could play for free, a group of arcade games and air hockey, and VR games that could be played solo or multiplayer with up to 6 friends.I have never found anywhere like this before and it was like finding a little slice of gamer heaven in Sarasota.The bar area had several game themed drinks, some snacks to choose from, and the bartender was very friendly.VR appears to be on Oculus Rifts, and time is sold in 30 or 60 minute blocks. Extremely large selection of games to choose from too.Overall I was very impressed with Escape Reality and will definitely be back.

I started out playing Ping-pong. It was a very realistic simulation with spins and speeds. Then flew around a city from high rise to high rise, extinguishing fires. Great fun! Oh, and the drink from the bar was their custom mix recipe and was amazing!

A lot of fun, especially after you get the hang of it. The staff are super friendly and they can be there every step of the way. Its a new and different experience. Im excited to go back at night while Im downtown enjoying the evening in sarasota.

So fun! They have some older games before n64 with a massive selection over 1,000 games to choose from definitely recommend megaman! I tried VR for the first time and tried out Cowbots vs Aliens and that was quite an experience. Totally fun place loved the bartender Whitney. She was very knowledgeable and down to earth!

Absolutely must come check this place out. The owners and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Bring some friends, the multi-player games can have up to 4 people, and they are the best. It really feels like youre in youre own world, no matter if you play with others or you do your own thing. You get 10 mins for free to come check it out and see if its for you, but honestly, it takes less then a min to love it. Its still new, but call and set a reservation to guarentee your time. This place is gonna get busy fast!!!

WHAAAT?!?!! This place is awesome! Played a shooting game and loved it. Then played a zombie game and lagit let out a scream or 2! HahaSo fun, not the cheapest but worth the experience for sure. Gotta try it to know.

Really cool place, tons of VR games to try for my first time doing it. I also appreciated the old-school video games to entertain while others played VR. The whole place felt like a glittery futuristic spaceship - with drinks!

My husband and I went in on Wednesday to try the vr game that is Assassins Creed themed. We went in pretty early in the day, so it was quiet, but that is what we like. The people were really nice, and explained how it works since it was my first time trying any vr games. The vibe of the place is really cool, laid back and retro. There are loads of different video games around, screens that you can watch vr on, and they had a nice menu for refreshments as well. We were each put into separate areas, so we dont run into each other with the masks on, and the attendant explained how the game worked. We played it through to the end, and I have to say, it was the most fun I have ever had playing a game. The quality is really great, and we could speak to each other thru the headset, so it was super realistic. If my husband walked far away from me in the game, his voice changed in the headset as if he was far away too, even though he was only 4 feet away. If youve never tried vr, this is DEFINATLEY the place to try it! There is a great selection of games, the people are friendly, and the location cant be beat. The owner said they are starting up trivia and poker nights as well, so if you are social like that, hit them up!
