Small distillery, good rum. Will be honest and say their clear / base rum is a little harsh and best for mixers. The spiced rum (for me) was clove forward, but a good spiced rum. The Toasted Coconut Rum and Coffee Rum is where they shined. And the Distillers Rum (spiced rum aged in bourbon barrels) is really good. We walked out with the last three.

Ok!! Sooo not sure if your familiar with Taste Of Germany ok well they make these special cakes that are Heaven and sell them whole or by the slice and are made with a lot of liquor in them that the first time i went to their restaurant to buy a slice they carded me yup!! So anyway they are not ope BUT they do ship OR you can buy slices here at the Siesta Rum Distillery. Super clean beautiful distillery and friendly staff. They sell Taste of Germany slices of cake but also their yummy bottles of Rum and even have a little taste testing area. They have candles that smell like heaven and im just so glad we stopped in. I needed my cake but also grabbed a bottle why not! The Holidays are coming

The place was very clean and organized. Handicapped parking was right by the door. The server was very pleasant, asked for ID and answered our questions! The clothing was cute and priced appropriate. This is definitely a place I will visit again! Great job!!

Destilery is about half a mile east from US 41 and maps shows the back parking.It offers 4 different rums and I would start with plain and progress to spiced, coffee and coconut.Annual production is around 100000 bottles. One is $ 25 and no discounts for more. It is sold in local Costco only and Total wine store.Bar lady is very nice and will offer some additional info.Place have public bathrooms but no WiFi available.Different gifts are also available

The tour was fun but the rum is absolutely amazing!! My husband and I had a blast taking the tour on the Saturday after Christmas. The staff was very friendly and we were able to purchase a couple of bottle to bring home with us to Ohio.

I had never heard of this place until visiting Sarasota. Decided to take a tour, the staff members were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The toasted coconut rum is amazing! Do yourself a favor, and stop in for a tour! When you buy a bottle they donate to the Mote Marine Aquarium, its great that they support such great organization!

I was really impressed with this place. The free tour was short but fun and interesting, even if you’re not an enthusiast. The staff talked about the history of the distillery and all stages of the production process. At the end there were free tastings which were excellent. You could also buy bottles of rum or souvenirs there. The staff were really friendly. Great experience all around!

The warehouse it is located in is beautifully designed and the staff were amazingly friendly. Our tour guide Taylor was super fun and very interactive with our tour group. 10/10 highly recommend for tourist and locals alike!

What great rum! Dont worry when you pass by the metal scrapyard...you are on the correct path.This distillery has received a Rummy award for the past few years. Their spiced rum is outstanding...no, all of them are outstanding. Cant wait to cook with some of them. The sampling is presented by the staff who are quite knowledgeable-- if not Troy the owner, it may be his son, wife, or mother-in-law that is serving you. Nancy poured for me and we were best friends before the ten-fifteen minute tasting was over. Troys wife had decorated for Christmas--great job!The tour is a must--sign up on line...who knew that a little distillery tucked into an industrial park would be such a gem.

Siesta Key is some of the best rum you will ever drink, and when you visit their distillery, the reason why is evident. Take the $2 tour, try the samples, and be sure to pick up a bottle or few of their special rums--some of which are only at the distillery. The tour is usually given by one of the founding family members, and many of the staff on hand are family, or have been there from the beginning. Their story is great, but I dont want to ruin it. Its worth the tour to hear it, and ask all the questions you want. They are generous about answering all of them and giving you a few laughs along the way.

Best rum I’ve ever had, I drive over 2 hours to visit this distillery. Love that they do not use artificial flavoring. Prices are reasonable. If you come to the shop you must try the key lime pie drink! It tastes just like the real thing. Also don’t forget a piece of the rum cake, it’s amazing. The staff is always very friendly & helpful

The owner’s father custom built the tasting room which makes it even more special. This is a family owned and operated, award-winning establishment. Simply the best rum I have ever tried. I like to sip a good vodka or bourbon. Rum has always been a mixer for me. This rum is so smooth and so well rounded that it can easily go into an expensive whiskey glass and blow your mind. It did mine. This needs to be the new standard.

Fun and great thing to do, and its FREE. Just have to be 21 years or older. Was our second time there. Awesome story behind how this beverage has been made, the stories of being the best rum. Best part was, the tastings. We were able to taste some before and after. Can even make purchases. Check out all their cool t-shirts

Fun time tasting the rums and touring the distillery..

The Mrs. and I are craft beer enthusiasts, but once in a while one has to check out what else there might be to explore, and Siesta Key Rum is a definite must-see! They offer free tours and tastings and you may well be astonished as to how drinkable their wares are! The tour is very informative and interesting, but to taste is to convince! Everything we tasted was drinkable all by itself, without need of mixers! However, there are a number of recipes offered that will enhance your appreciation of these award-winning spirits! (Pssst! Vernor’s Ginger Ale is recommended!). A must.

Our 5th visit a ALWAYS with friends in town was AWESOME thanks to Annable @ the tasting table & 1st & last part of the amazing story of their history. The bottle display to current holiday time was also awesome. New candle pumpkin spice also is awesome & of course needed a new bottle of spiced rum. All others voted the coconut rum their FAV. & all thought the new coffee rum was another winner.

What a great hidden little gem. Small local operation with 1st place awards for their rums.Our tour guide Adam did a fantastic job explaining how the distillery came to be. Wyatt explained the distillation process from start to finish. Was surprised with the generosity of the samples that are available before and after in the tasting room. Tour and tasting is just under 2 hours . All of their rums including, 1st batch, and special reserves are available for purchase on site. Tshirts,koozies, candles, coasters etc are also available. Tours are free and available starting at 11 am daily.

This is a great opportunity out the way place to see a small local selection of rum. I came too late to take the tour, but the tasting room was still open. The two staff greeting and doing tasting were so nice. They seemed to be willing to give us a much as they wanted, unless we got drunk.

This is just two miles from Sarasota Airport and is a great way to welcome friends to Sarasota County after their flight. The rum is very good and they offer free tastings. If you call ahead you may be able to link up to the tour. Saturday tastings I understand are really fancy shots.

Enjoyed visiting the siesta key distillery. Tour was informative and intersting. In the tasting room my favorite was the roasted coconut rum and of course the key lime pie one (need a recipe for this one). Thank you we really enjoyed. Will definitely visit again.

Wonderful place to visit. The location is not what you would expect driving in (its kind of in the warehouse district) but it is nice once you get inside. They do regular tours (hours on their website) where they walk you through the process of creation. A very interesting and educational tour and it ended with samples of the best rum I have ever had.If you like rum and are in the area you MUST go here.

Ive loved this rum, especially the Toasted Coconut, since I first tasted it. Finally went on the tour & Im even more of a fan. Our guide was excellent & we learned a lot. This is a small but mighty distillery, worthy of all of the rewards they have received in the run business. I will bring all visitors here...great experience, service & of course wonderful rum!!!

This was an hour long tour with tasting room visits before and after. Great presentations given by tour host and distillery host. Definitely worthwhile to visit and enjoy locally distilled rum. You can purchase on site as well as t-shirts, tanks, sweatshirts, hats, candles and rum cake. Im the reason Siesta Key is out of rum!

Spiced rum is very good but aged spiced rum is in a class by itself. This is an artisnal rum distilled in small batches. If you like rum and are in the area, this is worth a stop. Call and find out when the tours are because they are worthwhile. The coconut rum made with real toasted coconut and not a bark extract is superb.

We took the tour, tasted the samples and were thoroughly impressed by the staff and their presentation of the best tasting award winning rums that we have ever tasted. No charge for the tour or samples. There are four flavors: silver, toasted coconut, spiced and gold available for purchase after the tour.

I am so proud to live in Sarasota where the finest rum is produced!! Well worth a visit while you vacation in Sarasota and if you as lucky as I am to live here and have not been to Drum Circle Distilling you have missed the rum boat. This is as good as it gets!! It is also available at Total Wine but more fun to visit the distillery. I have created parties around making rum milkshakes!!

Best coconut rum ever! Their use of real coconut and not a typical flavoring sets their toasted coconut rum apart. Tour was informative and it was nice to have the owner and his son as our guides.

I was not a rum lover before the tasting and tour. Now, I am. This award winning rum was excellent. The Gold label tastes like bourbon and can be sipped straight over ice. Spiced, and coconut flavors also wonderful.

I have worked as a temp at SK Rum, Highest rated rum in the country. You must stop by and try some at their tasting room. They had their annual Christmas party for 250 guests and it was good times.

The Siesta Key Rum tour was much more detailed and informative than I anticipated. This is a must-do when in the area. Their Toasted Coconut Rum is excellent, but the Spiced Rum has been my favorite since I first sampled it years ago. The owner is very humble, and its obvious that the amount of dedication and love thats poured into the process translates into such an awesome end product. Now that Ive met the small staff and seen the process firsthand, I will continue to support their brand for years to come.
