Great place to ride. Virtually non-stop for about 14 miles (or 28 out & back). Ends at beautiful Campers Beach.
Really nice bike trail. Better than one home. Easy riding as its flat. Some crossing roads but also has overpasses so you are not being frogger. Has both water and rest stops AND bike stations. Really well thought out. Made the mistake of doing 30 miles. A little sore but will do it again. Never have I seen alligator habitat sign. Deer and bear yes. Thank you LC for suggesting.
Wonderful trail. Smoothe enough for roller blading. I also like the yellow circles with distance labels so you can track your distance.
Excellent, safe trail. Venetian waterway extension has a little more variety and even a drawbridge we got to see go up for a sailboat.
Great place to walk my dog & meet people
Great trail with more to come soon.
It’s all paved very comfortable and safe riding for a family with younger children!
Perfect example of a well executed rails-to-trails project. Trail is smooth and clean, with only a couple of road crossings in the whole 12 miles of trail. Lots of water stations and a couple of handy bike tool stations along the way. Highway crossings are elevated pedestrian bridges. Passes through Oscar Scherer State Park.
Great place for a bike ride, love the sign, caution alagator habitat !
Great trail for locals but not worth traveling to experience. Very hot and boring. If you are looking for an experience filled greenway look elsewhere.
This is a great place to ride..alot of shade and rest stops....can hit a store right off the trail If needed
Very nice green way trail
Awesome bike trail for travel and nature seeing
14 mile point-to-point trail. Great for biking and running.
Lots of canopy trees so a five mile hike or bike ride is in mostly shade
I love riding the legacy trail, I live near the current trail head on the north end and enjoy riding all the way down to the connection on to the Venetian at waterway Trail. The round-trip from my home down to the far end and back is roughly 32 miles and it’s one of the only safe places around where you can cycle without worrying about being run over by an automobile. The funding was recently approved to extend the trail into downtown Sarasota and they have also completed another bridge to cut down on the need for pedestrians & cyclists to cross lanes of traffic.
Nice place to bikes
Love it. Cant wait until the extension to Payne Park is completed.
Electric motorbikes travel this path at 40 miles per hour.
Not for families. Too many fussy bikers. No trees for shade. Just a straight trail. Other trails have benches, trees, picnic tables, and water views. This one has nothing but a trail. Sorry people. Gets 1 star for effort.
If you ride a bicycle that is the place.
During a recent visit to Venice Beach, my husband and I had the opportunity to cycle the Heritage Trail twice. It is such a pleasure to have a safe place to cycle away from traffic. The trail itself is wide enough to accommodate bike traffic both coming and going. There are bike repair stations at the larger rest stops. We biked a total of 44 miles and if we had a trail like this in our home town we would be on it daily.
Awesome for long distance bikers
My family loves bike riding on this awesome trail!
Best place to run every morning.
Safe trail whether bicycling or hiking, free of traffic!
Easy walk.
Great hiking, biking trail! Get outside and explore!
Great paved biking/walking trail with covered bench areas, some include portable bike repair stations. the trail gives the feel of seclusion yet never is very far from a main road and cell service is never interrupted.
Its great and the puppy and kitten fry was great
Good for bike, roller skate, run in the greatest FL outdoor.
This is the wrong address, there are other entries
Beautiful!! Great bike trail.
This is a great trail. Take snacks cuz there is nothing available. If u pay the entrance fee to the Oscar Scherer State Park it is right next to the trail. There are mileage markers painted on to the trail. All the water stops are clearly marked. There is a bus depot/stop next to the trail too if u wanted to arrive by public transportation. Its also a short ride over the bridge to downtown Venice which is very bicycle friendly. Fantastic trail. See you out there!
We removed all the dead trees in the preserve for the legacy trail in Deer Creek so I know the county is staying up on future improvements to the legacy trail, this place is amazing.
Boring boring boring.
Its clean.well open for visual site.
Fun bike ride
Love it!!
Cada mañana para andar en bicicleta el mejor lugar
