We come here almost every year. This resort is small, quiet, and super laid back. Nestled on the end of Lido Beach it truly is the best location. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Beach is clean, water is perfect, and the sea life is abundant. We had a manatee swim right up to us our second day here. It was amazing!
Room needs the plates, bowls cups and silverware for number of people that they rate the room for. Bed other that the master were uncomfortableCharged for extra detergent for dishwasher, AC was loud at check in but was fixed next day. Very good location and enjoyed our time there. Staff was friendly.
Been coming here for years and usually the staff is friendly and helpful. I guess Covid has taken its toll on the front desk staff. Both times I interacted with Wendy she was rude and acted like she was bothered that she had to help me.
This is the best place to stay on lido key. My family has been coming here since the late 80’s and you can’t beat the prices especially for being directly on the beach in Florida all the staff are extremely friendly and it’s with in 10 minutes to f shopping and restaurants. if you need a place to stay on lido key Sarasota sands is the place.
Im spoiled, yes. I didnt have much interaction with staff so cant rate. The resort is very, very dated. Seriously in need of at least a low budget interior design. The building is old but the suites felt old. One of our bath tubs was clogged, but that was the only unsanitary item I encountered. Bed very basic..not comfortable. Cable was exceedingly basic and No Netflix. Otherwise, the basics were provided and were clean.
Best beach access and location for the price! Rooms are older but well maintained and have all the amenities necessary for a short or longer stay. Short distance to St. Armands circle for some great shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend for families, couples, and anyone that enjoys the beach!
Right at the bottom end of Lido Key, next to the State Natural Park, is Sarasota Sannd Resort. A converted motel, the rooms are spacious, although the kitchen was small. Loved the location. Staff very cheerful and accommodating. Lovely pool and grassy areas surrounding it, plus a tennis court that looked newly surfaced. The highlight is that each floor has a wonderful extended walkway/balcony out front and chairs to sit outside. A very communal atmosphere. Loads of things to do in Sarasota and surrounding areas. We ate at OLearys (our favorite), and Marina Jacks. Went to the Theater, rented a kayak, took a catamaran sunset trip, visited Siesta Key Beach, rode our bikes on the Venice canal bike trail. Unfortunately, our vacation was cut short as Hurricane Florence bore down on our home town of Jacksonville, NC. We would LOVE to go back!
Relaxing atmosphere, clean and friendly. Good to see friends and family!!
Older hotel/motel style resort next to Ted Spealing Lido park.Clean one bdr. 2 bath 660 sqf size accomodation with 1 excellent king size nest quality comfort bed and linens and 2 corner fixed sofa seats.WiFi is good and whole resort is on the beach. There are very few available electric outlets for guest chargers or lap tops.Kitchen is full of appliances and has counter top seating two and four at the table.Towel exchange is btw 9-10am and disinterested masked lady with muffled voice gives direction that are very hard to follow.Beach is under reclamation and offers some nice finds.
Really loved our stay here. Beautiful quiet location right on the beach. The people that own the units are so friendly and welcoming. Lots to do as as well. Well be back for sure.
Little outdated but a classic laid back type of place perfect for family vacations
Clean comfortable great location!
We have been coming here for years, while old or dated in some respects it is very well maintained. Located at nearly the end of the road and next to a county park it is quiet but a short drive up to St. Armands Circle. There is lots to do, right on the Gulf of Mexico with direct beach access (Lido Beach). They have a nice pool and hot tub, tennis courts, shuffle board, a game room with pool tables, game tables, etc., sauna, and more. In the summer when we come lots of families.
Sarasota florida is a amazing city. Its a hidden gem. Its a tropical city. There are many different things to do and see, Like Jet Skiing, kayaking, and sarasota bay tours. There are a ton of restaurants to go to. For all of the people who have gone to Sarasota sands year after year have an emotional connection to life on Lido Key. a ton of people have been going there year after year since the 1980s. Every week there is a ice cream social the first night that we get there, which helps you meet new people. The Private beach resort is very quiet not loud and noisy. The only thing you hear is music and the waves crashing. The hotel might be a bit outdated but its the people who make the place so amazing. Even though your on vacation it feels like a party 24/7. Even though we only go to Sarasota once a year its a second home for me and all od my family and friends. Even though thingd are constantly being renovated/changed its still always a good time. Generally we go to sunset then go party at the pool till 10pm. Then you wake up the next morning and relax once again. Sarasota florida is a magical place with tons of things to do, you never get bored, on Benjamin Franklin Dr, Sarasota, FL.
The staff was friendly. The pool and other entertainment were sub par. The access to the beach was good
Awesome beach front location and a quick drive to St Armand’s circle. For being nearly 40 years old I was surprised to find that our unit had new blinds, granite counters and new bathrooms. They even had a nice game room on site. My only complaint is the pool and activities don’t open for children until 10 am. (Oh and the front desk staff had quite the attitude.)
So nice so relax. It was Sarasota at its best. Thats old Sarasota. Took me back to a nicer time. Will go there again.
What a beautiful set up!! Right on the beach of Lido Key!! Great prices for rent or a sum purchase following a annual maintenance fee and a week thats available. Beyond that, theres plenty to do, trails, kayak trips, sailing, you can actually walk the whole coast and bar hop. Plenty of plazas and stores to load up groceries and drinks, etc. Have fun!!!
Staff here is amazing! Great place to get away and visit the Barrier Island Atmosphere!
Very friendly staff, great rooms and fabulous views.
The family has been coming here for 39 years. We have enjoyed many vacations here. There is always somewhere new to explore. Sarasota Sands is a wonderful place to set up camp, enjoy the warm weather, family and friends.
Adequate. Nice beach. Not very friendly atmosphere. St almonds circle a nice experience. Clean laundry facilities. Kitchen adequate; however sparse.
We absolutely love this resort. We come here every year and its always an amazing experience. Friendlys and courteous staff. And also great access to the beach ans some of the the most beautiful sunsets!! Great restaurants and shopping nearby. They also have kayaking and jetski rentals near by. Once you vist the more your going to want to come back over and over . It will be the family trip to remember.
We love it here. Been coming for 13 yrs. We own 5 units and the last 2 wks we have 4 generations. Old people dying off so there more and more units for sell. Check it out
Very nice the first two times we were there. New management the third time. A big rude guy who has an axe to grind against Tom Brady and the Patriots. His screen savers all say Cheatriots. If youre a Patriots fan I would recommend keeping it on the down low. Really weird.
Great place to relax and the beach is just out of this world. Could use some updating but the units are on the whole well maintained. Friendly staff more than glad to help you. Suggestion though, take your own bottled water along as the water that comes out of the taps should be censored.
Just love this condominiums. Old time Florida style with very friendly staff. Very clean and secluded place. Been going there for several years and will definitely return.
Fabulous facility, clean and perfect for a family vacation
Nice staff, excellent service and a beautiful view of the gulf. Breathing view from the game room. Variety of activities including a private beach, a pool, a hot tub, shuffle boarding and various games and puzzles in the game room on the fourth floor. Definitely worth a visit, only downside is slow wifi that often doesnt connect, and you must be 18 to be alone in the pool area ( Im 14 ) and in the game room. But still an awesome place to stay hands down 9/10
Little dated but clean and well maintained. Really like the beach.
Great time, family, older property, well maintained!
We are members of the club and go here often and we like very much. This is a nice place with 3 restaurants, great accommodations, a nice pool, and a great beach. This is a great resort in a great location.
A great family resort. Beautiful beach.
A great family resort with plenty of activities for everyone. Great place to relax, also, with a white sand beach and the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico almost right outside your door. Whether you want to take a dip in the ocean or in the outdoor pool, use the exercise room, or the hot tub or sauna, play tennis or shuffleboàrd, bike the trails, or work on a tan, youll love the friendly staff and homey accommodations.
Located on the beautiful Lido Beach, it boasts beautiful beaches and access to South Lido Park. In addition to the views, about 5 minutes away by car is St. Armands Circle, home to a massive amount of restaurants and stores. Its a beautiful place. Rooms are all cleaned very well, have all the appliances and are constantly updated. Staff is great and friendly. I would highly recommend Sarasota Sands to anyone willing to have a great vacation getaway.
Mostly great. Some kitchen amenities leave something to be desired (eg no sharp knives), and the water tastes horrible. Even the filtered water... awful. But other than that its a great little place... great views, nice beach, nice staff, etc.
Been visiting for 30 years! Jewel ON the beach
Awesome location, right on the beach. State Park on one side. So beautiful, panoramic view of the gulf. Clean and well maintained. Easy access to Sarasota and St. Armands Circle.
It was nice it could it been better.
Our family has been coming here for over 35 years! Best location on the beach in Sarasota!
Red tide ruined our fun but that doesnt have anything to do with the resort. Nice place to visit, close to a very nice nature park. No complaints.
Right now they lost their beach, they are restoring it and are about 300 yards away. The beach to the north is really nice!!
I look forward to the week here all year long. Everything is clean and nice. The beach is fabulous and Sarasota is such a wonderful city. Plenty to do and great food in this area.
GREAT PLACE TO STAY.RIGHT ON THE BEACH.FRIENDLY STAFF ALL THE ROOMS HAVE SUFFICIENT UTENSILS ETC.HAVE STAYED HERE SEVERAL TIMES. I GIVE IT FOUR STARS BECAUSE IT LACKS A BAR OR RESTAURANT ALSO THE IRONING BOARDS ARE TOO SMALL APART FROM THAT PERFECT.
Best location on Lido Key. Great timeshare with well maintained grounds and buildings. Love that they preserved original architecture over the years. Beautiful Beach
I love the location. Its tucked all the way at the end of the island away from most all traffic. Pool, private beach front, have room, fairly nice rooms. I vote Yes.
Started coming here for Christmas since 1980
Great value, family oriented vacation place nestled between state park and multi million dollar condos.
Great location on Lido Key off Sarasota! We love coming down here to a beautiful place in SW Florida!
The grounds were clean, people were respectful. It is a well maintained time share.
Great place to stay. Wonderful staff and a beautiful view of the Gulf.
This place is family. My family has been coming here for generations, and we go here every single year. What can I say? Its always paradise, with the units close to the pristine beach and water. What are you waiting for? Get over here!
A beautiful area to visit.
Imagine finding a pudding rock in the Gulf. Must of traveled from Michigan.
The resort is nice but the beach is amazing one of the most beautiful beaches youll ever see
I have been coming to Sarasota Sands for 10 years and i always look forward to it. Its super close to St. Armands which has food and shopping, the beach is steps away, the pool is great, game room is great, sauna and jacuzzi are great...everything here is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful city of Sarasota.
Facilities are clean. Property is well maintained. Awesome sunset views. Other guests are welcoming and friendly.
Clean.... very nice people..quaint
Nice and quiet
Had a great time. Beautiful sunsets, friendly staff and lots of seashells. :)
And going there for 30 plus years the beaches are awesome
We stay every year. Small, with sufficient amenities, great service crew. But nothing beats their beach and location!
Came because of great reviews, but the rooms are awkward if youre sharing with family. Im sleeping on towels on a rock hard sofa that looks 30+ years old. There are no sheets for extra sleeping space, only blankets. It is also HOT in this extra room Im in. The kitchen is cool, but very noisy with more awkward layouts (it is still loud in this little room because I need the door to the kitchen open to breathe). Theyd do well to have a fan in the extra room, a sofa bed or bunk beds, and sheets. I think Id be more comfortable sleeping in my car. Really wish I was almost anywhere else.
Great place to spend some R&R! Outstanding beach, and Epic sunsets. You wont forget this place!!
On vacation raining alot nice place too stay
Very peaceful and relaxing place!
Fantastic clean resort. Not squished between resorts and good accommodations
The staff was great, amazing place to stay. I highly recommend it for anyone whos considering Sarasota.
Nice
Great views, quiet and enjoyable
Have owned here for quite a number of years. Although the staff is very nice and helpful, the place is getting rundown.
A week in paradise every year. (Minus the red tide this year)
Nice clean room, really courteous staff
This Is one of the best beaches though the waves are pretty stout in the summer.
Ive been going since I was 3 years old, thats 30 years and never have I been disappointed. I always hear bad things about time shares but best thing Ive ever got.
Ive been coming here since 1983 and its my home away from home . Ive never seen any bed bugs here and I have checked . Its a great family destination. The pool and the beach are right here close together, it doesnt get any better!
Put your heart any short place to hang out family had a lot of fun definitely do it again easy to find
Our family has been staying here for over 10 years during the 4th of July. This place is a true Gem. Awesome resort, fantastic beaches and close to everything at affordable family prices. Check it out. You will be very glad you did.
A lot fun people very nice place to stay
Nice quite beach, went fishing got sand dollar pieces and neat shells, has a playground
Havent ever stayed here. I was about to book a week this summer until I re as d the review posted a couple weeks ago. I would love to know the outcome on the bed bug situation. Hotel comments????
It was a nice beach at the sand resort but the rooms were infested with centipedes they were even on the ceilings
Best location on Lido Key. Nice rooms and amenities
Okay resort, old with a few updates nice accommodating staff
