Once a time ago in 1953 The Sandcastle Hotel in Sarasota was born.My Girlfriend and I went to The Sandcastle and it brought you back to the charm of the 1950’s. Yes the hotel needs major renovations but the people who work there; sincerely take pride in their job and show it.At the Front Desk was Kathy and Mary who were so pleasant and accommodating to say the least. We only stayed one night for a business and pleasure getaway but it’s an experience.The maintenance man Michael was very friendly and even helped my GF find the elevator and escorted her to our room. It a rare commodity to have hotel staff that were so genuine and friendly.The rooms were simple, beds comfortable and in the bathroom tubes from Tommy Bahamas of shampoo, body cream, conditioner.The pools were my favorite; one junior Olympic size pool that was clean and warm and another smaller pool that was warmer. The resort fee includes:Beach chairs and umbrellas and towels for your stay. We did not go to the beach due to; poor weather. There was a cooler with unlimited bottles of water.We did not know Leona Helmsley actually owned the hotel at one time and had 4 rooms converted into a townhouse with upstairs and downstairs. When she died, she gave her dog; the Hotel. Yes, her dog!The restaurant was open for breakfast and pool bar had sandwiches that were great. All the staff wore masks and if you did not have one; they had one to give you.Overall it was a throwback to times before and it was fun.

As of right now, SANDCASTLE RESORT in Lido Key, Florida gets ZERO stars. Some nasty stuff here in the GUEST ROOMS! They will NOT be getting a return trip from me. Ive got photos.The front desk tells me they cannot move us, on the first night when we got here. Only another room, just like the one were in, but up a floor. I asked if THAT has ever been updated, and I was told NO. Then I dont want it.Their SISTER resort, just down the road, LIDO BEACH RESORT, is beautiful. I asked if we could go there, or into one of the suites here. They claim theyre all booked here, and that we cant go to the LIDO.One would think that for a total of $220-something a night for two full size, not queen sized, beds, they could come in and run a vacuum over it or something, at SOME time during a 4 night stay.We have the very tiniest of ants on one table... it was 4 times today, where I was killing about 40-50 of them on that table. I cant imagine why the carpet cant get vacuumed now and then. We didnt even have FOOD in here! >:(A LARGE Palmetto bug fell in, or climbed on and ran across my husbands head, just as we were falling asleep. He yelled. I yelled.Here are my initial pictures, mostly off just the bathroom and our hallway door. The ice machine is nasty! Rust... water all around it on the floor... sits up on pieces of 2x4s... and its in the dark at night, so you gotta feel around for where youre ice bucket goes. Ughhh.We are in Room 166.*Okay... I had to put one star on this for it to post, but it most definitely doesnt deserve that one.

I’m giving a 3-star review because the room was a 3-star room...really a 2....there was a roach in our bathroom (barf) and our room door was so rusty and hard to get open and closed. The rooms (even being on the beach) are NOT AT ALL worth what we paid...we’ve paid equal or less to stay at much nicer places. However, the customer service was wonderful. Everyone at the front desk and the server/bartender outside by the pool that was on duty was such a doll. She was so kind and funny! And we did enjoy the quick walk to the beach. But we won’t be again until they do some upgrades.

I can’t even call this a hotel much less a resort. It’s like a cheap motel except the prices are that of a resort. The rooms are dated. The bathroom in our room was scary. The room smells damp and humid I’ve pay a lot less to stay at much nicer hotels with actual amenities. Will never return. Definitely will not recommend. It needs to be tear down and re-build from the ground up. One night and out of here in the morning.

This place is awesome. It is an older property but its charm is exactly what I needed. The staff is amazing. The rooms are spotless. It is such a peaceful getaway! It is humble and very low key. The property has everything you need. However, the staff is truly what makes it a 5 star in my book!

This resort was well worth it! The staff was super friendly and made sure we were comfortable with our stay there. We enjoyed the free bikes that were offered to us as well as the tiki huts that were available to rent. The bed in our room was beyond comfortable as well as the room being clean upon our arrival. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone it was a 10/10. I will be using this resort from now on.

I have stayed here multiple times and have no complaints. the staff is amazing and always goes above and beyond. The place is perfect. 2 pools, poolside bar, restaurant available, and the beach is literally feet away. They have followed good cleaning procedures throughout covid. I will always return here!!!!

The beach area is perfect, one of the best beaches in florida if it is not the best. Now the hotel not even close to be OK. The girls at the front desk are super nice but overall the hotel services is very bad, I mean very bad. The restaurant take forever to bring a orange juice, and a simple breakfast in my case took 3 hours. Do not expect to have other options to eat or drink, just there isnt. The room is clean but is old, and the whole installations needs some TLC...horrible check-in, the room was not ready until 6pm... in general the staff are nice and I feel they try to do their best, but goes beyond that. I would recommend this place if you look for a great beach, but if you are looking for a good service, I wouldnt recommend.

I am here currently right now in August 2020, during the “Covid situation” and this place is absolutely amazing. They are extremely friendly, clean, safe & their rooms are awesome! The location is perfect. The beach is a few steps away from my hotel back door, their courtyard and amenities are so cute and very welcoming. The beach is beautiful and feels very private because not many people are on it but it’s also family friendly as well. It’s a very great vibe, I will absolutely be coming back very soon. I am from the West Palm Beach area and this place blows Palm Beach out of the water. I can’t wait to come back!

This place is very old and run down. I will not return. Which is unfortunately because the location is good. Beach is right. Pool area is nice but there is no light at night.

We had this great view from our balcony every day! The beach was clean and the resort provides chairs, towels & umbrellas. The restaurant on the grounds was good but a little pricey for breakfast. We loved our breakfast croissant & fresh fruit.

The location is fantastic out the door and youre on a BEAUTIFUL beach! Ask for a chair and umbrella a nice girl brings it out and sets it up, what a life The room itself was tired, the receptionist said the whole thing is being torn down next year and a high rise tower is replacing it, kinda sad it would be great if they just did some cosmetic fixes. Oh well, change with the times I guess. The price was right, the town is cute lots of eating and shopping choices, theres a free shuttle to the town. Very tropical and nice

Ok... all youre doing is paying for is the privacy of the beach which is GREAT! But the hotel itself needs some updating. The beds are rock hard. But the cleaning staff was very friendly. And if you catch the one lady who you check in with at the wrong time, she can be very very rude. I did however love the buffalo-honey wings! Omg! They were great!

My stay was pleasant enogh. I was in room 104 ocean front. My only serious concern was the extremely slow drainage of my tub, which took all night to drain & poor lighting outside my room. Especially in the back door patio area when dark bc there was no lighting, it was so black I couldnt see anything & missed a step off the sidewalk & almost fell. However, I was lucky not to have twisted an ankle or worse. I am a senior citizen & the poor lighting could have caused me a serious mishap. Never anticipated needing to pack a flashlight. I thought u need to know this for future elderly residents protection.

Location, location, location!! While this is a resort that definatly needs updating, you cant beat the location and the price. It is about a mile from St. Almonds Circle. We had the room where the back door opens up to the beach!! The room was clean, but nothing special. Even with that, we will be back!! Location and affordable price is EVERYTHING!!

Love this place. Definitely has an older style but everything is clean and well maintained. Bed was very comfortable, crisp and clean. All staff was fantastic! Sad that it will be torn down in the years to come for new high rise and prices to go up. Food wasnt impressive.

Very outdated rooms with wallpaper peeling off. Bathroom was a nightmare. Shower head not working properly. TV’s are very outdated as well. Our AC was not working properly and we were a little uncomfortable, barely any air was coming out the air vent. The hallways and elevators were full of sand and dirty. You can hear everyone from outside. Parking is horrible. The place looks like a nightmare from the outside, nothing like the pictures. At best this place falls in the category of a over priced motel, mind you that we payed over $500 for two nights, definitely a learning experience. The customer service at the front desk was ok but some of the employees throughout the hotel are rude. The only reason why I’ll give it one star its because of the view if you get the rooms facing the beach but the place is a dump. Stay away.

Most of the staff were helpful to me. One snarky one did not spoil the bunch. I feel sorry for the staff. The resort is no resort at all. In fact, it is a dump and needs to be closed. It was a ghost town. Nothing to eat or drink (no one at the so-called Tiki bar before 5 and nowhere to get a beverage unless you get in your car and go to the sister property. The drink machine in the laudry room was out of ice tea. What a waste of money. Never again.

I have never left a bad review until now. We were very disappointed with this hotel (not resort like the name states.) Being charged over $200 a night and it was a disaster! Paint and plaster peeling off the outside walls, rust everywhere, nasty carpet on the stairs and walk way, holes in the bathroom wall by the tub, lack of ground maintenance etc. We had no choice but to stay as it was a last minute decision to stay at the beach Saturday night and no other hotel had availability in the small area we were in so we purchased over the phone. Lesson learned!! LOOK BEFORE YOU BOOK.

This resort really is a nice place to go. Two pools and ocean front property is beautiful! Room service was 100% on the ball for the entire week! A couple things though. The key cards cant be near a cell phone or anything magnetic or they wont work anymore. RFID wallets will stop the card from working as well. They have a restaurant in the hotel which is nice, but it is kind of expensive. The food however was great! Last thing is they charge you a daily fee ON TOP of what you paid for the room, so dont be surprised like I was! Overall though, such a beautiful place and great service. Definitely check it out.

Upon arrival we were able to wait on the property until our room was ready. The pool area was packed and the water murky with suntan oil. We went to the beach area only to learn there are no umbrellas and no cabanas to rent. It was very crowded, hot, loud music, and resembled South Beach in Miami in many ways. Our room was in the smaller building which housed renovated Motel rooms. It was modern and had a cute kitchen, the bathroom was impossibly small. The 4 of us ended up trying to spend as little time possible on the property and escaped to the furthest point on Lido Beach where it was Peaceful and relaxing. This was an expensive hotel, the staff unfriendly, Beach and pool too overcrowded. Do not expect it to look like the online pics. This is not a luxury spa.

Nice place to stay. Not as clean as you would expect for the price. But you can get away with a lot if you are located right on Libo Beach. Probably would have given them 4 stars if the had been more up front about their resort fee of 28.00 a day. But they wait until the end to charge you that and then tell you it was hidden somewhere in your reservation small print. Staff was very friendly and the view of the ocean was excellent.The first night we were there we had the absolute best bread pudding I have ever had in my life.

Very dated. Musty smell. A/C wasnt running properly. Beach bar closed at 4pm. Would be one star but The gentleman at front desk was nice. There was a shuttle service which was nice since no Ubers were in area.

Very outdated hotel. Horrible room air conditioning. We reserved 4 rooms and the AC was not cooling. We complained and the hotel gave us two fans (full of dust).Heavy construction machinery working all night and day at the beach 24/7 didnt allow us to sleep. Nice beach and friendly staff but the hotel needs a complete update. Be aware of resort fees even with this conditions. Limited parking outside. Just think before making your reservation.

Love the views from our room! Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Old hotel, but still great place to stay. Drinks very pricey at tiki hut by pool so beware and they put gratuity already on your tab. Which upset me. I should be able to decide what I want to tip instead!

Terrible!!!! My husband and I traveled here from Maryland for our anniversary week. This place looks NOTHING like what is on the website. It’s so run down and dilapidated and the beach was closed because of work being done. The lady Kathy at the front desk stole money from my sun glass case that I left on her ledge and immediately came right back to get and she blamed it on the cleaning people that we didn’t see once the entire week. She wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I questioned her about it. Pathetic!! This place is not worthy of even 1 star but I had to push to post.

For the price you get the beach but thats it. Shower barely worked and the floor was cracked, small damp room. When I opened the door the handle fell off. The restaurant wasnt open. Friendly staff but for the price you can stay up the road or in Siesta Key and have a much better room. Im giving 3 stars because of the staff otherwise my room was a 2.

Ants, roaches, and mold, oh my! The only redeeming quality at this resort is Luis on the beach, and the male bartender at the pool! We had 6 rooms, and each one had to be moved at least once because of ants, roaches or mold. Weve stayed here over the past 10 years and it really has become the dump on the strip. This is our last visit. You cant keep charging all of the resort fees, when youre a dive motel! So long Sandcastle!

Weve stayed here several times over the years. The rooms were outdated 10 years ago but they were clean. Upon entering our room for our Labor Day getaway my Wife and I werent pleased to see how much its gone downhill. Stained carpet, stains on the furniture cushions, Torn Curtains, Stained bathtub to the point we wore our Flip flops to shower. A Bath would be out of the question. This will be our last visit. Id suggest having them show you the room prior to making a commitment.

Horrific hotel!! Our room shouldn’t even have been sold!! Live black mold growing inside our room, rat dropping from rusted out vent in bathroom. Doors warped and wood cracked. Safe rusted out as well as refrigerator rusted out. Carpeting so filthy dirty you can’t walk on it without shoes or you’ll get a disease!! Elevator is scary!! Should be used as service elevator and carpeting throughout premises looks to be 50 years old it’s disgusting. This place should be condemned!! Do not stay here!! Oh and let’s not forget no maid service their excuse is the maids aren’t cleaning rooms due to coronavirus!! Shocking!! Hotels.com charged me $150 bucks for this dump!!

We had a great stay. My family was greeted warmly by the staff and the room was perfect. Can you walk right out to the beach and they have two separate pools. Right after staying there we booked another trip back the following week. Big shout out to Tim and his staff for a great vacation getaway. The best sunset you will find!

Online doesn’t accurately portray the rooms. These rooms are very old and outdated. Carpet is gross. Resort had construction going on 24 hours a day we were not notified that we would have to listen to equipment all night long. Pools and beach access are very nice. We will not stay here again.

Right on the beach! Private beach. Room was clean. Close to lots to do at St. Armands circle. Parking garage on site. Mini fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and safe available in room. Beach chairs and umbrellas available for use. Facility is on the older side but I found it to be a great value for what it had to offer. I would recommend this place on the condition that you book a gulf-view room. Thats where the value is.

Tim was amazing! Very fast service, and super friendly! When I first walked in he was in the middle of something, but dropped everything to immediately help me and that just made my day. Thank you Tim!! I would 100% recommend this hotel, great pools, amazing service, and right on the beach! Loved it!

When they say it is right on the beach, they mean it. We walked out our door to our patio and took about 10 steps to hit the water. Beautiful views, great place to go if you love sea turtles and want to see and learn about them and how they nest. 2 great pools, room service, friendly accommodating staff. Great time all around.

This has to be the worse hotel out there. Rude service.. an hour to check in to find out your card dont work. Than they switch your room... get into that one smells like dead fish...no ac... and tthey dont tell you anywhere on the site or at the location they are doing construction on the beach and that your over $250 view that you paid for... will be Bobcats and you cant even get to the beach... asked for a refund and went to gulf coast .

There was mold & bugs in our room, red stains in the carpet, everything is old & musty.The pictures they advertise are photoshop, dont fall for it. Staff is unprofessional,rude & miserable.

Had a beachfront room for the weekend and there was construction going on that was never advertised or told to us. Our room tub kept floodingwe have someone to come up and fix it and nobody ever came up to fix it it was very hard for us to get towels towe called and talked to his supervisor and we were really hoped just told wed be taken care of next time we go there very disappointed. Especially being my birthday weekend and never sleeping in a beachfront room.

I applied for a job here for housekeeping went through the background went through the drug test everything came back good but the human resource never returned my call over a week and she wanted me to come in this is why I give them one star its been over a week and she couldnt even return my call thats unprofessional

Check in on sunday 8/16 and it was less par due to attitudes of workers. Website did not say that the beach was closed for construction, we were told as we checked in. Given wristlbands to DRIVE down to their sister hotel in order to access any beach. Walkes into the Room which was tiny and smelled of odor and outdated, told the kids to not bother with luggage. Walked outside and sure enough could not access the beach construction vehicles everywhere. Decided to see if it was worth trying the pool and eas full of adults drinking. As walking to the pool, grown adult walked out of his room chugging a beer and walked into one of my kids. Decided to immediately go back to the room, grab the key and went to the office. I walked in and stated I do not want to stay here and want a refund, both of the workers did not even ask why, they just put their head down and start typing. I asked if there would be any charge at all and wanted a receipt and they said no because it was canceled and the worker walked away while saying this, I had to say, I cannot hear you when youre walking away, She just turned around and said NO its canceled very rudely. Next day, had the entire charge on my credit card for 5 days. The website did not say anything about the beach being closed and the workers could care less since they did not ask why nor if they could do anything to help us stay, this told me that we werent the1st ones to walk away. So, if you want a beach that is closed, a hotel full of drunks, this is the place to stay. We drove 20 minutes and stayed at a very nice downtown hotel instead.

Gets one star for being close to the beach.Is deeply in need of a remodel. Rooms smell moldey and our door handle fell off when trying to leave the door lol.. and ya can hear your fellow neighbors though the vents in the restrooms ..Save your money and spend a little bit more to get a quality place to stay near the beach

The hotel overall is great, specially the location. Very nice beach. However, there are piles of trash in some very transited places and a very strong smell coming from the trash cans, it seems as the trash is not being disposed in time. Theres no proper drainage on the sidewalks either, so watch out for that. Other than that, the hotel is pretty much worth its price.

This place was great. Short walk out of the back of the resort to the beach. Friendly staff, with great pool and deck. I just hate when a place adds gratuity to every check. We are locals and we like to tip, especially for great service. It just seems shady when gratuity is added and there is still a tip line on the receipt and the bartender or server does not relay that it is already included. I truly belive that this is the establishments fault. It is a staple in the area that 6 or more guests and the gratuity is added. But for one drink at the pool bar, thats a little nutz.

Only good thing about this resort is the location. The rooms are outdated, they smell weird and the door of our room was giving us issues with the key.

This little hideout is awesome... The beaches were second to none... And the surrounding areas are great... Everything you want in a getaway... I highly recommend them... You wont regret it...

This is not a resort, far from it. We payed over $600 for 2 nights. There was a $28 dollar “resort” fee per day and I’m still not sure for what. There was no beach access since they were expanding the beach. It smelled horrible and the water was dirty. The machines were noisy all night and day. The rooms were dated and in need of some major renovation inside and out. The AC cooled minimally, enough to get by. The staff was friendly considering how upset many of the guest were at the lobby. Not coming back.

August Weekend getaway and timing could not be worse. The beach is under major construction. Beach acess is limited and my beach view that I paid extra for was only compensated with $25 credit by rude front desk. Very outdated but clean. Only staff that was nice was Billy and Elizabeth, plus outside workers getting umbrellas very nice but front desk awful. Smiling and saying Welcome goes along way. I would only give a 5 for location and cleanliness.

This has been the worst customer service that I have received in my life, I am trying to make a reservation to spend my birthday this next long weekend, I have tried to get information about the pet policy, because they do not specify on the page.I have 2 dogs, and 1 is a service dog, both small, no more than 35 between them. The very rude girl told me that no more than two were accepted because the rooms are small. something that for two small races the room is spacious, because I have been to the hotel and that is false that the rooms are small. The girl told me if she wanted me to call later because i can not talk to you now. and she handed me up the phone very badly. If I could, I wouldnt give it a single star.In this pandemic moments you should be more flexible with the rules because your are loosing money

The location was great was able to walk straight out on to the beach from our hotel room. There was outdoor water faucets designed specifically for washing off sand and salt water placed conveniently less then 10ft away from our room. Although this hotel has many positives there is also some negatives, to start off the rooms was outdated, and the racks to dry your clothes on was rusty. Also the bathroom door wouldnt close without a good push. Overall the rooms wasnt over priced, the pool was heated, and the location was great.

If you are looking for a nice hotel to stay in please keep looking. We actually cut our trip short (and found a place down the road) because the place was entirely unkept, mold and mildew were present in the room, as well as the carpeted concrete areas on the patio, stairwell, and walkways outside of the rooms entrances. Seriously, who carpets concrete outside that is opening exposed to weather? Paint was chipping off of nearly everything in the seams in the wallpaper seem to have separated and moisture was present there as well. The staff does what they can do and seem to be hardworking enough, I feel sorry for them but this place truly just needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. Pictures are worth a thousand words! Hopefully I can add them...

Location is beautiful and perfect. The hotel is older but very clean. The tiki bar by the pool is very nice. Theres also restaurant on site. We had breakfast included in price of hotel very nice and would recommend.

Resort rooms need much updating. Staff pleasant. Resort needs to insure their rules are followed while out in the pool area.

. Been coming here for years. Like it so much we booked our honeymoon here. Its gone downhill..tried calling, and their website was not working properly or just poorly built. Could not even leave message because mail box was full. Couldnt talk with anyone to confirm rooms. we booked 2 rooms side by side,with friends from Penn. Friends ended up on first floor, pool view. We got 4th floor .our room had no fridge and no safe. The only safe was deadbolted, and no key. Office said the fridge and a keypad safe were in a chest of drawers looking thing. Who would look for a fridge there? Our friends wanted a room next to us. Had to wait 2 days for one. After they said will be ready by 3pm,they called the room that they were supposed to get,NOT the room they were still in waiting till 5pm to hear from them. No cleaning service,due to covid,ok, understandable, but I leave wet towels and such outside by door, and the go down 4 stories to main office for more? Their not going in rooms due to covid, but Then they leave champagne glasses, ( which was nice) and 2 sm bottles of bubbly in the fridge, which we couldnt find cause no one told us at desk where it was located until I went and asked the next day.no coffee refills or soap, towels, shampoo, etc, unless I went down 4 flights of stairs again. Clueless office person told us trolley picks up in front every day starting at 5PM. We waited 45 minutes and then they told us oh, sorry, they dont run on sundays. We were late for our dinner reservation. Asked for soaps and lotions for 2, and was given 1 sm bottle of each. They said that it was 1 bottle per 2 people. They stopped taking chairs out to the beach. We had to drag 4 of them ourselves. Garbage piles out front of alot doors, because of no room cleaning service. Cable went out, and very loud latino music at pool, and people smoking in no smoking areas. So disgusted. What a lousy honeymoon for my new wife and I. We will definitely be taking our business elswhere,since no one cares about the customer here at this placelook for a fridge

This was the view off our balcony! Very beautiful! Not an upscale resort by any means, but....it wasnt bad for the price and the VIEW!

The place is on the edge of the ocean. Needs some fixing but its like everyday is a day in paradise.

The hotel is old but ok. The location is great. We got tons of beautiful shells because the bulldozers were out on the beach turning the sand. We did have lots of problems with the room key not working so we had to go to the lobby everytime we left the room.

Great location, the white sandy beaches just steps away from our room. Rooms were definitely dated and needed new beds.

Sandcastle LIDO has been my mothers favorite place and treat for birthdays and after Cancer Dr visits for the past couple of years. Rooms are in such close proximity of the beach that it made it easy for her to get her feet back in the gulf after a long absence. Yes, a little dated on room decor but lovely and everything one needs for an amazing stay, and a sunset with my mom is PRICELESS. Thank you so much, Lido Sandcastle for helping me create a HAPPY PLACE for my mom through STAGE 4 CANCER. The natural beauty of this place is surreal.

I loved the retro old Florida feel of this hotel. The fact that it was right on beautiful Lido Beach was amazing as was the pool! Having access to beach lounge chairs, umbrellas, free bottles of water plush towels was great! I will definitely return.

I liked the beach view, even though the beach itself wasnt in the best shape and also construction was being done, the rooms need remodelization, and the bathrooms.

Positive: Location location location. And the staff has really been wonderful. We booked a follow up trip.

The whole hotel is out door. Rooms are dirty. There were ants in our room.Is disgusting. They had construction on the beach which was not enjoyable. I made reservations at this specific hotel because of the beach. Extremely disappointing. The worse place I have ever stayed in literally I’m still in disbelief that this kinda of thing still happens today. I booked it thru Hotels.com I feel cheated and misleadI won’t be renting rooms thru there siteAgain. I simply don’t trust them anymore. When I reserved the room I thought it was going to be a clean place to bring my children to stay. After arriving there I felt bad I brought my family there .

The LOCATION of this so called resort, is AMAZING. But THAT all! The hotel is in dire need of TLC. It is RUN DOWN and there is nothing that gives you that resort feel. Customers are charged a $28 resort fee in addition to the hotel nightly cost but it is NOT going to the up keep of the hotel.In addition to the dilapidated hotel, the service is mediocre at best. No one is rude but no one went out of their way to help you or be friendly.While I understand why rooms would not be cleaned within our stay but why was also our responsibility to get towels, soap, coffee etc from the front desk ourselves. Maybe a drop off of some essentials every evening?!? When going to the beach I waited then eventually asked if the umbrellas were going to be set up on the beach, it was already past 9am. Had to drag the chairs myself from the stack. The resort nearby set everything up early morning for their guest. There has to be a better way to provide service to customers.Lastly, I noticed I had an additional charge on my credit card days before my visit. After 4 phones calls I still dont know why. I was eventually credited upon checked out but no one has bothered to return my calls to explain the overcharge. Glad I caught it.Location is great but everything else... MEH

20 feet from the ocean, with a great view from our “non-view room”. There is a shuttle that takes you to and from the town. Super convenient! We had so much fun!! Will definitely be coming back!! It would be nice if the rooms were painted and upgraded but we don’t spend much time in the room, so that’s why I still gave 5 stars!!

The view of the ocean and the pool was the best part if the stay. The first room I was in smelled awful and was filthy. The front desk apologized and upgraded the room. The second room still had a foul odor but not nearly as bad as the first and was relatively clean. The alcoholic beverages were way over priced even during happy hour. I would not recommend staying here. I expected a nicer place for the amount of money I spent. Very disappointing!

Rooms are a bit dated but who cares! The location is EVERYTHING! Right on the most beautiful beach! Blue water! Awesome sunsets!We had a GREAT time here! You want a ground floor, ocean front room!! We were here in February of 2018 The weather was awesome! 85 -90 degrees@ White sand paradise!

The rooms were clean, and the customer service was absolutely amazing.The private beach was gorgeous; the pools were warm and yet still refreshing, making you want to swim for hours. That combined with the impeccable customer service, I would definitely recommend coming here and my family WILL be coming back again.

The beach is nice, they have a good restaurant in the hotel. They have a bus to visit the City.

There was no parking and the room smelled so strongly of mold that we immediately left. The only good thing is the location on the beach but hotel is old and in need of repair.

This place was pretty awesome! Let me start first by saying that Eric and Missy (I hope I got the names right) at the tiki bar are awesome. The pool area is great. The restaurant is better than I thought it would be. Really good wings. I like the fact that it was small so the beach area is not crowded. They keep it sanitized and clean. The only reason not five star is they could do a little tlc on the exterior and rooms but not a deal breaker.

Nice pool and tiki bar, but the rooms were outdated and unkempt. No room service, not even tidies due to covid-19 but with proper PPEs at least tidies and restocking towels, etc could have been done in my opinion. Also, no food was available on Monday, had to order from a neighboring resort and pick it up. Disappointed.

Most horrible experience ever. Outdated rooms. Both rooms smelled terrible and my friends room had moldy chicken wings in it. There was a ozone machine outside his room when we got there, im sure to try and kill the smell. Moisture coming from the vents.. beware im sure we breathed in mild all week. Beach access is a joke major construction going on during the day and night. So much seaweed piled on the beach and a row of shells that could cut your feet walking in. We had to swim at the next door beach to enjoy it. Good price but I know why now. The good reviews have to be paid reviews because noone in their right mind could enjoy this place. I have a few pics wish I could share.

Liked the size and beach was clean beautiful and not crowded. The rooms were roomy and super clean. Beds soft. Buildings could be updated looked like a 1960 hotel .

While something were a bit out dated it was very nice for the price. The staff was over all very nice and helpful

What you see on the pictures is not what you get. Place is old enough for Bob Hope to visit. The rooms smell like moldy air and room shows water damage in multiple places. Beach was nice and staff was too. Just bring your own drinks, 2 drinks and 2 shots was $45 at the pool...YIKES!

There were so many ants in the room, the rooms are different than the photos online which is misleading/deceptive. The beach was under construction when we came which completely soured our trip. Location is great but the rooms are super out dated and not worth the price they are charging. Basically just paying for the location.

They have a nice Big heated pool. The resturant has great food and great service. Free water is provided by resort. The property is in a state of disrepair a lot of stuff should be fixed or updated nothing big. Carpets worn through,paint peeling small stuff like that.

We had the suite. It was spacious and very nice. Very clean. Staff was very nice. Food was good. Other reviews claim resort was dated but who cares. Old world Florida vacationing is slowly disappearing and soon all we will have is cold, sterile, brand new modern pretentious highrise hotels. All resorts are soon to be super new pristine for the best pics and bragging rights you can post on FB... minus the REAL... with memories that wont hold. Except on your computer.Thank you Sandcastle. I loved my room and my stay. Well definitely come back!:) Picture is the view from my room... no modern necessities needed.

Nice resort that gets the job down. Expect a little bit of traffic to get there. The breakfast and food they offer is great. Also, it offers various meetings room that can easily fit your needs. The rooms are a good size. They do have a small bathroom, an iron, and an iron board. A hot spot is that you can reach the beach from the hotel!

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My room doors were rusted and looked like they had been busted in. Then my shower was disgusting and water would not drain so I had to shower while the tub was full. It was nasty!! Don’t waste your money

A little outdated. Had a slight issue which was taken care of immediately. Will stay again and recommend.

Lots of bang for your buck. This hotel is dated but it has a friendly staff, easy access to the Lido Key shopping district and is right on the beach. A great value.
