Special. Tho it was cool and overcast, the park held lots of surprises: barn owls, osprey, scrub jays, woodpeckers and red tail hawks were seen and heard! Young people enjoyed frisbee golf. Valley oak, with sprawling limbs, host scores of squirrels. Lovely!

Exit great part the Frisbee golf course is OK not very challenging on the back say but what they should do is plant more trees out there it gets freaking hot on the side of those hills

This is a beautiful park to hike picnic, just make sure you bring your own water there arent any drinking fountains. I took my kids here recently to hike a couple of the trails and i used to fly kites with my parents when i was a kid. I see that they also have an extensive disc golf course here and the trails are also good for horse back riding.

Not open early in Winter, Park Rangers schedules dictate a variable time for opening of gates. Much more predictable in Summer.

We took the kids for a hike at Crane Creek on a hot summer day. We wanted to avoid the crowds, and Crane Creek was the answer. Hardly any cars in the lot, so that was great. The disc golf course seems well-maintained. The hiking paths are all wide and clean, save for periodic cow paddies. We did not see any cows wandering, as the sign said we may, but we definitely saw evidence of their presence. Beautiful area for a hike, even in the brown-yellow dry of summer. (note that the photos I uploaded were taken in January, several months after I wrote this review. Not sure why Google added them to the review.)

Crane Creek is my favorite regional park in Sonoma County. A great place for walking trails, birding, or observing other wildlife. The parking lot is well maintained, with several convenient picnic tables.

Beautiful. I decreased a star due to it being very open. Not a good spot for hot summer day hikes as shade is limited. It is a classic golden Californian hill.

Lovely county Park with a frisbee golf course, lots of paths to walk, on leash dog friendly and the best part is there are grazing, free roaming cows! Really nice views, very green. Theres a parking lot with a pay station.

Great place for a light to moderate hike close to town, yet full of natural solitude. Plenty of off-shooting trails to explore and a nice little hill on the backside via Sunset Trail. If running, there are a few good little quick burst hills to train on if not yet ready for Taylor Mountain.

Love this park! Great place to walk... for people and pups! Trails vary from relatively flat and easy to slightly steeper rocky terrain. Gets a bit muddy in some spots during rainy season, but most of the trails are fine. Beautiful views! Also has one of the best disk golf courses ever.

Crane Creek Park is a jewel for Santa Rosans. Located in the rolling hills of Sonoma Mountain, the park is sandwiched between vineyards and grazing pastures. Short hike with astonishing views of Ronerth Park and Santa Rosa.

Our family loves coming here to get out of the hustle of the city. It has great easier trails for little kids and just for a beautiful jaunt through the hills of Sonoma County. The summer time yields that golden grass everybody loves for their photos, while the winter and spring grows wild and green. This is where the city meets country, where you can see the cows and the lights down below. Perfect sunset watching here!

Awesome spot. Lots of open space, plenty of parking. Nice drive to get there. Dog friendly! Please keep them on a leash though, not everyone has a friendly dog. Lots of spring flowers. Seasonal creek, nice oak trees, and some vineyard views. Nice easy to moderate mountain bike trails. Plenty of good spots for a picnic. $7 parking if you arent a Regional Parks member. Bathrooms available on site.

Good place if you need a place to walk. My sons group did a service project and rebuilt a pass using rocks from the creek bed. Other than the creek, it is all just an open, dry grass area. There were homeless people sleeping on a picnic table under a tree, which made it unsettling.

This is a great place to play disc golf, ride a horse, run, or just hike. BUT .. dont stray from the trail too much. Theres poison oak and ticks. I went in the tall grass a month or so ago and I had about 15 ticks on me when I came out of it. Got all but one of them off of me. That one was in my belly button ( hahahaha ), urgent care got it out. But, I still like it there.

Review №70

Nice walking area, lots of hills, not very steep most places. The view of the valley, Rohnert Park and beyond, is vast and lovely, and very close to the parking lot. The park itself is not big, but seems bigger because of the hills. The main trail makes a loop. Theres a disc golf course. There are far more sunny places than shade. Parking is $7. Accessibility: The parking lot is paved and fairly level, with toilets close by, but much of the park itself is NOT wheelchair-friendly, as in many places the hilly trails have ruts, rocks, holes, bumps, and even gullies.

A nice grassy jaunt through the hills. A great place to walk with your dog on cooler days, expect the stream to be dry unless you stop by during the winter. There is a frisbee golf course, though Ive not seen anybody play. Seems like a popular place to fly drones as well.

Pleasant network of walking and horse trails, with disc golf course wrapped around the site. Its not big. But occasional vistas of the Santa Rosa Plain stretching on the horizon, stepping over (mostly dry) rocky creek beds and walking under gnarled oaks makes the park seem roomier somehow. A few benches spread around offer occasional respite, but, apart from restrooms, thats all the comfort youll find. This park was made for walking.

Review №76

This is a small regional park that offers a good amount of trails, picnic benches, restrooms and frisbee golf. There is a little creek running through, mostly dry in the summer and fall months. Cows graze here. Lots of big trees, sheep, wildflowers. Benches throughout the area so you can rest and just enjoy the singing of the birds that are abundant here. Beautiful views over Rohnert Park toward the coastal range. One of my favorite places in the area.

Its really pretty and great if you have a dog or you like Frisbee golf but for $8 its pretty mediocre and you might get hit by a Frisbee or get a mean stare and awkward waiting silence as you pass by on the path by a Frisbee golfer... also great for horses. Really pretty and a light walk. Not a hike for sure.
