Great experience. I went with a charter group, but ONeill also has many public sailings where individuals can do this little cruise for a modest cost. Our 2 hour voyage included a tour of the Santa Cruz coast past the landmark Boardwalk and Wharf and then a taste of open sea sailing experience. Great place to socialize and enjoy a beautiful day.

Have been with this Charters thrice now. Beautiful set of people, amazing views and scenic sunsets if that’s you are doing too.Have watched about 7-8 whales the first time, none the second time and 2 the last time.They have drinks on board for $5 each, those are really good too!

I absolutely love going out sailing with ONeill Yacht Charters! The whole crew is very friendly and alway do a great job. The boat is very spacious and sails are normally very smooth and relaxing since its a catamaran.

Love these guys! We use them every year during the Monte Fireworks show for an amazing evening on the water with a beautiful, front row view of the fireworks. They have a small mini bar and offer a limited selection of wine and beer. They also have hot chocolate for the kids and serve cookies as a snack. Great for the whole family. Bring something warm to wear and a blanket as it can get cold being out on the open water. Also, crew and staff are great (bring some cash to tip these guys - they work hard to give you a memorable experience).

We did the 1 hour cruise, was very good to of the Santa Cruse Beach and boardwalk, the pier, and out of shower a little bit. The staff was very friendly, they have drinks available on board too. I would have preferred a slightly smaller boat, and longer cruise, than what we had in the 60 cat, but our cruise was not at capacity so it was very pleasant. We watched the longer sunset cruise leave from Crows Nest and it looked much more crowded.

They seem to be always busy with happy customers all the time.

Always a great time! The catamaran is really stable, so if you have any nervous Nellies in your group, this is the boat for them. They serve beer and wine on board, which is a big plus. And as an added bonus, we almost always get to see some whales or dolphins every time we go out.

Ive been on their boat a few times and it is always fantastic! The boat ride itself is super fun and the crew is very accommodating, friendly, and funny! I hiiiighly recommend it! Also, beer is only $5 and we got to see whales! Perfect combo.

Incredible sailing experiences with Oneill

My husband and I took the 1.5 hour sail. First time for us and we had a blast. The boat is big and rides smooth. There were a lot of people but plenty of room for everyone. We saw a whale and some sea otters. The staff were all super friendly, very professional, and extremely courteous. We go to Santa Cruz every summer and this will now be a tradition for us. The price is very reasonable. One thing to note...a lot of the reviews mention meters at the dock. There were very few meters and they were all taken. We paid $12.50 to park in the Harbor Lot. So be prepared just in case. Thanks ONeil Yacht Charters for a blast on the sea!

What great customer service! We missed our cruise. We were scheduled to go on Thursday night during the big beach party held at Santa Cruz Beach. My husband dropped me off where we were supposed to board, and then he went to find a parking space. After driving around for over 30 minutes, he still could not find a space. The sweet girl that was handing out boarding passes waited for us as long as she possibly could, and offered to give us cruising credit for another date. However, we were leaving town early the next morning. Shortly after leaving, she called to tell us that she had spoken with the Captain, and we would be receiving a full refund. Thank you both for going above and beyond! We will definitely be cruising with you guys the next time we are in Santa Cruz!

Had a fantastic time on their sunset catamaran trip, we even got to see a couple whales! Would highly recommend layers and ask for a blanket for good measure as well.

I’ve brought my kids out on the O’Neill catamaran several times now and every time we all have an awesome experience. The crew is kind and knowledgeable, and there have been plenty of times we’ve seen whales. Not to mention the tickets are cheap and the catamaran is the smoothest boat ever. The crew in the office is nice too and always seem happy. It’s refreshing to go to a business where the people who work there are super friendly and excited to have you there! See you soon OYC!

They have a beautiful fleet of boats, one of which is used mainly for school groups and educational community sails. Knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic about teaching the ways of the ocean. The boat is often run by Tim ONeill himself, or by the awesome Captain Mike. This is a real gem in the Santa Cruz community.
