This is small but stretched out along the beach on shoreline drive. The speed limit runs at 25 mph here and you have to stick to that for pedestrian and bike users. You can use a hammock on a couple of good trees. Ive seen a family do it. Two parking lots are available to try and accommodate everyone who visits. The north lot has two massive trees that covers three cars for shadeGood luck on getting a spot!
Santa Barbara is a lovely city. There are lots of parks and a great amount of restaurants.Downtown is great for an easy stroll. Everything is so close. No traffic at all while driving around town.
This is one if easiest and most accessible park right along the ocean. I is absolutely one if my favorite places to visit. if you are visiting Santa barbara and dont know where to go first visit this place and then gather your thought.
Beautiful park, you can see kids playing in the playground, while you see swimmers, stand-up-paddlers, sailboats and dolphins in the water alike, gophers are playing next to your food and nice people all around - great experience!!
A much more private beach compared to the boardwalk. Really cool cliffs by the ocean to walk along, and move head in the hilltop to spread out of you want to.
Rode our bikes up and down the coast and came across a nice resting spot. Coming from the north you go up a hill and on top you are able to see leadbetter beach just perfect for a nice quick photo.
Amazing spot during the day or at night. A constant light breeze makes the sunny days that much more enjoyable and doesnt soak you in salty seas. There are paths that lead up and down easily walkable by a disabled person with a cane. At night I know that parking in the lot is for those with a permit only and disallowed for general recreational uses as per the signage; however, I had not seen the night sky as such before. Simply being a few miles away from this spot made such a huge difference in how I could see the night sky. From this park I saw what a difference in perspective the west coast offers versus the east coast. The stars shine much brighter and are much closer almost as if a short plane ride would enable you to touch them. The big dipper IS HUGE out here. And it was kind of crazy how when I looked up directly above my car I saw a VERY VERY CLOSE comet fizzling out.
Its a beautiful beach area that SBers love but it would b nice if the city of SB would think of putting hand dryers in the bathroom
A perfect park to walk dogs, have a picnic, take your children, or just stroll and look at the view. The playground is good for any kid and the steps near the arch is a great beach access.
I grew up here and travelled a lot since. We are spoiled. One of the most beautiful places on earth.
Ugh horrible place! The beach had lobster tails or bodies just on the shore or floating around. Several people didnt have thier mask on! Cant believe people could be that insensitive to not wear thier mask DURING A PANDEMIC!
Amazing place for a family walk. Bring your light jacket as it gets little cold.
Shoreline is always so beautiful. The scenery is like no other, ocean, mountains, marina. You can walk along the path, get your feet wet in the ocean, sit and enjoy your surroundings and its nice for gatherings. Not to meantion you can bike ride, BBQ on sunny days or fly a kite on those nice windy, chilly days. Love it!!
What a beautiful place. I saw the best sunset of my life here. There is a way to the beach from this park and one must not miss that at all. There is ample parking area. Also, many benches available for families to relax, use the barbeque and enjoy a great evening! If you are anywhere close to Santa Barbara, pls make sure you visit this park for a perfect sunset!
Beautiful place but get here real early for the best parking
Good city park to walk the dog... most other dogs are friendly there.
Beautiful views and very nice walking trails. The temperature there was very comfortable last time I went there on July 4th weekendI really like the large spacious beach area, and the great views that made myself feel small
Beautiful park to sit and have a picnic and see the ocean.
Quiet clean nice place to relax read a book have a picnic
It is great but for 10 and younger but has no real age limit
It is a green space over looking 100+ foot cliff over the Pacific Ocean, The Harbor, and SB proper. There is nothing not to like. Not enough room for sports though.

Spectacular cliff side ocean overview and ground squirrels.
Childrens play area, Thousand Steps beach access, restrooms, 25 mph speed limit and Santa Barbara CA.
Peaceful place to watch sunset. There is a small playground for families with little kids. Free 2hr street parking. There is fence along the cliff walk and no exit to beach which is quite beautiful, at least we didnt find one.
Great place to sit and have a picnic. I had read online that it was a good stop for whale watching, but none while we were there.
The sands there are soft. Its nice to walk and playing there.
Well named park. Great for walking along the shoreline. Dog friendly.
A beautiful place to visit with the most gorgeous coastline views.
Clean and nice park and plenty of parking
Does anybody know what the squishy creatures are in picture 2? Beautiful pristine beach, lots of people having fun surfing and playing ball with their dogs. Definitely worth stopping at if you’re visiting Santa Barbara.
Kinda like your own private beach when no ones there!
Originally saw this park while passing thru but loved it so much I scheduled a whole vacation to come back. Great places to eat & shop close by but simply sitting on the beach listening to the waves is priceless!
Love this place. Good place to walk your dog and take pictures.
A great place to run, beautiful views
I love this lil beach park! Wasnt too crowded when i went and there is plenty of parking next to the a nice grassy area & the cement pathway thats next to the fence overlooking the beach & bluff. Theres a wooden stairway off the cement path which leads down to the beach with soft sand and beach rocks...a nice lil hidden gem of a beach. Beautiful views and quiet and serene. Loved it!
Great park with ocean views to exercise with your best pal
Nice spot to stop and walk or watch the sunset
Great place for bike riding and walking.
Fantastic place..Love it ...You feel comfortable..Good for relaxing
Definitely amongst my favorite locations as a tourist in Santa Barbara. If you visit this place on a good day, youre bound to get some amazing views of the Pacific. If youre even luckier, youll get to witness a ton of Dolphins with a clear view without needing any equipment.I came here with my partner for a walk and we were thrilled to experience multiple sightings of dolphins. If youre into surfing then the beach is a 5 minute walk and is a surfers paradise for sure.
Just a great place for you a d your pet
Lush green gardens, group party spaces with proper amenities.Lovely and clean beach with garden at a height
Great place to sit and watch the wind surfers
Clean & Easy access to the Beach, Gorgeous Sun sets
Perfect, beachcombers paradise. Take the stairs down south of the parking lot.
Great walk to east beach past harbor on a nice comfortable morning.A great way to start the week.
Lots of benches and tables, great to walk around and take in all the scenes, right along the ocean.
Great views of the Pacific Ocean. Very peaceful & serene.
Lovely place to watch the sunset and the ocean.
Good for a walk and to spend some time. There are a few picnic tables and we saw families and kids playingvaround and some people just working in their computers. Such a nice office!
Nice views of Santa Barbara from this place. There is free parking here
Beautiful. many rocks. still a beautiful park
Nice park with an amazing view & access to the beach!Definitely reccomend bringing the family here !
This park has: a playground, benches, grills, tables, restrooms, and some of the best ocean/beach views in the area.
Really nice weather today, not so crowded so perfect for a day out to enjoy the sun!
Great view, have a playground for kids, like it
Nice park located right by the beach and harbor. Great place to walk your dog or just take a stroll out the the point and enjoy the view!
Very relaxing and convenient park overlooking the bay where kite boarders and sailers play. Parking can be limited at times, and there is no physical barrier between the park and the high traffic, but low speed, road it is adjacent to.
Watched the sailboats jibing with the sails fully released.
Its was really fun nice$#$#$
Beautiful! When its windy, a bit too much sand for my faces liking but overall a wonderful beach
Beautiful hidden beach in Santa Barbara! Looking for a weekend get away this is the spot!
Sea side walkingIt was so nice~~~
Order some lunch and eat it at a park with plenty of social distancing and a great view of the ocean.
Stunningly beautiful park, my family got so much beautiful memory in here.
I walk the Shoreline Park to East Beach 2-3 times a week. You cant beat the view and its approximately 5 miles round-trip.
Nice walk along the sea side. There is a beach access too. Parking is free.
Great spot. Lots of people out, milling in the grass, taking walks, training dogs. Stairs down to the beach, where dogs often go off leash. BBQs for public use at west end. Parking can be tough, as its popular. Theres a walkway down to Leadbetter Beach, where theres a surfing break.
Nice place to walk the dogs, hang out, and just relax.
Beautiful place for picnic, jogging, cycling etc. You can walk down to the beach too. Only complain is about the restroom, one near to the parking lot doesnot have stall door. Overall I loved the park.
Great views. Hard to find parking.
Awesome place. I wish there were food trucks here for some food!
Very scenic, great for walking or bike riding. Parking could be a challenge sometimes and there are more than a few Homeless people hanging around.
Very scenic with clear blue sky and clear blue water
Really good park for younger kids, right on the Mesa. Parking usually isnt hard at all, and you can play at the park, theres lots of grass, or you can take a walk on the path. We love going here to get some fresh air and for the view.
Lovely walk down the beach. Quiet, and beautiful
Beautiful, very well kept, clean park. Great ocean view, sunset is beyond imagination. Must see.
Great park for walking around in and great views of Santa Barbara beaches and the channel islands.
Convenient, picturesque, good facilities, come during low tide though.
One of the best spots, in Santa Barbara. It is a great spot to walk, exercise, bbq, watch surfers, spot dolphin, pelicans, seals, whales or walk down a tad and grab a meal, cocktail or wine taste.
That day we went to the park Iowas so beautiful my family and friends were there for my son memories we let the balloons for in the sky it was one scent he been gone
Overall, a great place to go to for relaxation, fresh air and good view. Its not too crowded and just an amazing park. The downside of this park would be limited parking spots and nasty bathroom.
Beautiful views of coastline and Santa Barbara. Plenty of grassy area to support play
Beautiful relaxing walk!
Great place to watch the sunset!
Was very relaxing after a long day at work. Sunset was spectacular. Will visit again soon
This place is a quintessential example of Santa Barbara. I’ve got so many happy memories on this stretch of coastline. Even if your not staying in here I recommend you stop off and check it out on the way. Easy access to State street and the funk zone.
A spectacular way to spend the day!
Very beautiful park with some picnic chairs and barbecue grills. A lot of open grassland and a stunning view with possibly to see some dolphins. There is some explanation panels (see the pictures I add)
Beautiful spot! Cant wait to come back!
