Lovely park, with a clean public restroom, plenty of tables for eating outdoors, and a decent sized kids play area. Note that it is MUCH smaller than it appears in the photos - and is suitable for a picnic, but it is very small and not big enough for a hike. There is also NO water in the rocky river bed - just standing algae. So, there are no rapidly flowing streams as in the photos, at least during August. However, the abundance of large bolders and rocks is pretty cool, and make for some nice Instagram pics.
Love the quietness of this park. Its shady enough I dont worry about my dog over heating. And even when theres a lot of cars, you dont feel like people are right on top of you.
Adorable park for a low impact nature walk. Great for exploring. There is a play structure for when thats allowed again... But for now there are cool bounders to climb on.
This park has a good playground for older kids and walking paths. There are horseshoe pits as well as bathrooms. My kid favorite is the space for outdoor play. Climbing rocks or trees and playing in the creek. --Goleta Mom
Good place to walk near the mission
We took an easy family stroll. Nicely shaded.
Nice park by the Old Mission area of Santa Barbara. Has picnic and parking areas throughout the drive into the park.
Cleanest male restroom in a park I have EVER encountered. A real joy. George costanza himself would give this one 5 stars. Xanadu!
Needed to go outside and have a somewhat pre-pandemic day and this park was perfect. Tables and benchs have great space between them. Hadnt been is years, will definitely return again.
Beautiful, peaceful, lots of sunshine and a nice little stop to take your dog for a quick walk while traveling
Good playground and lots of nature
Great escape from the city, not far and yet so secluded.
Horse shoes, the creek and the natural beauty of the place
Beautiful scenery! Lots of creeps there tho. Bring your nunchuks
It is a peaceful place to eat and enjoy quality time with your family and friends
Beautiful park. Lots of boulders for the kids to climb. Good playground. Picnic tables with BBQS, clean tables, clean restrooms, fairly quiet. Beautiful trees, next to Mission Creek which is dry most of the time, only runs during rainy days. Close proximity to the Mission and natural history museum. Parking is limited, but not usually a problem unless its a holiday weekend or there is a large group in the one reservable area. Definitely a favorite in my family.
Beautiful park! Its just past the Santa Barbara Mission. Across the way is the Natural History Museum. You can visit and explore all three in one day. Im impressed with the park. It has plenty of trail tp walk or.bike ride, you can stay with an RV as well.
A beautiful park for kids, parents, picnics, BBQs, hiking, biking, walking the dogs or for seeking peace and quiet away from the city. Some people say the homeless there are a problem, however, my family, friends, & I have never had any problems in the many years weve been going there & have personally witnessed the people without homes taking better care of the park than the visitors who have homes. Santa Barbara has become far too hostile towards people without homes & as lifelong locals, we dont appreciate that attitude of hostility. Lets all keep Santa Barbara the easy going and all people inclusive place thats been so attractive to world travelers for years to come :)
Nice mini walk eith beautiful trees and rocks, go all the way and explore different areas. A quick nature ealk without leaving the city
Nice picnic park next to the creek.
Best public park in Santa Barbara county. Spectacular forest-like environment that becomes more dense and beautiful the further you hike up the relatively easy to maneuver canyon trails. Highly recommended.
Cute little place tucked away
Near the Santa Barbara Mission and a historic stone bridge, Mission Creek runs through and skirts this gem of a park. Rocky Nook Park is always shaded by century old oak trees alive with birds and squirrels. Intimate picnic tables and BBQ also has large ish picnic area with bigger BBQ. Due to a prehistoric geological upheaval bizzar boulder collection is available for children to play and climb in and around
Nice and clean with good bathrooms. Good shade trees and facilities.
Amazing park
One of our favorite places in Santa Barbara. Beautiful
It was a great experience my brother got married there he loved it great staff friendly people the only thing I didnt like theres only one restaurant for women and one restroom for the menand no a/c super hot in September.
This place is awesome and you can bring beer and barbecue.
This is the best locksmith company in town, IMHO. Excellent customer service, trustworthy people and since the move to Haley Street, easy access. Theyve extricated me from more than one pickle.
Nice place to drink beer BBQ relax lots of Oaks been coming here since I was a kid used to swim under the bridge with Bagley
Shaded, nice.
Santa Barbara has many nice parks and this is one of the best. Its fairly large and very scenic.
Beautiful wildlife in day camping areas BBQs at every spot
Cool park, has real creek.
Awesome park for any event . Horse shoes for the adults playground for the kids and cool tress for everyone

Beautiful setting for Hillside House event at Rockwood Womens Club
Beautiful tree filled park. Picnic tables fire rings clean restrooms small trail . Great location. Dog friendly.
This is one of the coolest places in central California to just chill especially when the creek is running very Serene environment with bathrooms a huge barbecue if you wanted to have a large group its all so wonderful small children have their own little play place there
Went to a retirement party there today, it was great!!
Great place to picnic, birdwatch, take the kids, listen to the stream.
Very nice restful park for barbeque and short walks or bird watching. Mission Creek runs through the park giving a slightly cooler atmosphere on warm summer days. Dog friendly is right here because your pets will have a great deal of new things to experience. Be careful for poison Oak. It can be irritating from the stems as well as the leaves. Free to use the single spaces.
Picnic grounds with tables, short network of trails amid oak grove, childrens playground. Lies along a bed of Mission Creek. Good and fairly quiet place to walk, since I live nearby.
Its a beatifull place
Definitely one of my favorite wooded parks. There are also a lot of rocks and neat little areas for meditating or getting some quiet.
Great swimming hole under the entrance Bridge
We had a wonderful time this past weekend making barbecue with friends, my only complain is the bathroom...can be improved. But is an awesome park to play with kiddos and discover the beautiful nature of Santa Barbara.
A nice little park. My family usually has birthday parties here. Plenty of seating and a nice little playground for the kids. It can get a bit windy at times. That can be great on hot days, but otherwise bring a jacket. I always do.
Rocky Nook Park in Santa Barbara is a great park to take a walk. There are picnic spots, a playground, mission creek, bathrooms and a nice hiking loop around the park. Lots of boulders and rocks all over the place! One of my favorites from my childhood.
Great shaddy spot on a hot day
Beautiful Park in the hills of Santa Barbara! Huge old Oak Trees and a river running thru! Quiet! Relaxing! Spent my childhood playing and hiking thru this park!
Great day park. Picnic tables with water and grills nearbyRural trails and a playground for the kiddies.
Great place to have a BBQ. They also have a little playground for the kids and a creek where you can adventure off to. Great Park!!
Clean, natural outdoors. I enjoy laying a blanket and reading a book in the shade of the threes or having a picnic with my Bonita. It is refreshing and beautiful scenery -at times you can see deer pass by. Oh and at times there is a great deal of running water and it is nice to be able to get in the water and enjoy it :-)Kids love to go catch lizards there...On the downside it can get full on weekends and parking is somewhat limited.Close walk from the Mission.
The only reason Im giving it 3 stars is because it always has a lot of loud, rough men bbqing (Everytime I walk there) and as a woman it feels a little unsafe. Just my opinion.
Needed more tables closer together for a class of students. Great nature experience!
Beautiful place to walk a short trail, let the kids play in the playground, and have a picnic. Great place to relax after visiting the mission.
Another beautiful place in the Santa Barbara Mission district. BBQ and natural surroundings. Its also an event type place.
Nice playground, but we will not use it. Too many people camping out there illegally and county rangers turn a blind eye. Its a regular rv park most days
Very rocky and somewhat nooky. We bring our grandkids there and its a very chill park. Lots of shade.
Love this park
Great spot we stopped for a break here from our shuttle and ride from the trails for lunch what a great spot..
What a cool area. interesting rocks and so near to the mission and other places.
Beautiful park.. Good for small bbqs
Its a lovely family park, open sun-up to sun down. Toilets and BBQ pits available.
5 year old to 12 year old playground, picnic area. All In forest Area with Creek
The kids turn feral, its a civilized spot for a bite of something, and a mans thoughts can wander.
Best Park in SB
Lots of LOCAL YOKELS here..I told them about Jesus Christ !
Beautiful setting unfortunately frequented by loud drunks and pot parties.
Nice quiet park to enjoy the outdoors
Locals love it !
Beautiful little Park..... Wheelchair situation is not the best
Great for dog-walking in the rain.
Some local yokel characters hang out here & I talked to them about Jesus Christ
Quiet park
Nature -adapted- at its best.
Good experience
Family friendly park
Peaceful
Beautiful place to be relaxed
