A fun place for everyone who is willing to enhance knowledge anytime. The collection of anecdotes in the museum is nice. Added simulator in the vicinity agrandizes the place. The staff is super polite and its easy to navigate inside. There are restrooms on first floor and there is an awesome restaurant and a gift shop too. Overall a nice place.

A great place to catch up on the Central Coasts waterfront history. There is many exhibits and a theater that plays 1 hour documentaries; this museum has been funded by local residents who are proud, and care to educate.

This place was a gem hidden away in Santa Barbara. From the history of rum running and the history of deep sea diving suits to large scale working models of various naval vessels, there is a wealth of information here. Its not just in the exhibits, its in the people that work here. They are an invaluable source of stories and knowledge.

There is a ton of information here, and its all super interesting. Ranging from the native culture, before European influence, to modern fishing industry, surfing history, and even some boat model history. The only issue I had with the place is there isnt really a flow to it. There are a number of interactive exhibits I didnt get to that looked fun. If you want to be thorough and see everything plan on 3 hours, theres so much to read.

We went to the museum with our grandsons. We all had a good time. On entry the boys were given a sheet and pencil, appropriate for their ages, and were asked to find the answers to the questions. They loved investigating. There is a play area for the kids and lots of stuff to feel and touch. It is educational for people of all ages. The children get to choose a gift from.a treasure box. We loved our visit and recommend it.

My visit here was for a catered event for my wifes work. The venue was very interesting to look at and explore, which was perfect for someone like me who doesnt enjoy talking to lots of people. The food provided by the museum was very tasty and there was plenty of it. The organization and timeliness of the desert bar was a hot mess, but the desert itself was quiet good. I plan to go back to the museum for more exploration during our next staycation.

The maritime museum Is a neat little spot to check out if you want to catch up on the local history of coast of Santa Barbara, when you walk in you will see a few shots of the old boat that used to run in and out of the harbor also along with a large sea diving helmet that they used made of all brass, its pretty cool. In the back of the place they have also a basketball court but I dont think its open to the public. Also the museum is connected to a restaurant next door so it makes a good after dinner walk.
