I never been to a park this big I ended up walking the whole thing, It was about 6 miles. It was a work out but it was worth seeing everything this besutiful park had to offer. I saw the botanical garden, Japanese tea garden, the lake, & the museum. I recommend visiting all those places if you visit.

Beautiful building and grounds.. old world mission style, expansive with lots of intricate tilework. Wood ceilings and and Frescos. Go up to the tower. Lots of narrow steps or an elevator. Free. From there you can get a great view of the entire area including the bay. One of the nicest city government buildings I have ever seen.

Just an absolutely beautiful place! Just to visit or get married! Have lunch n read a book, just pass through...its a stunning setting in the middle of downtown Santa Barabara. Always well manicured lawns for laying a blanket. The courthouse itself is a reminder of how beautifully we used to build. So much detail! Take a stroll up to the top of the courthouse tower while youre there, its worth it!

Lovely example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture constructed in early 20th C., although it looks convincingly older. Beautiful tilework, frescos, balconies, ironwork. Come on a weekend and witness the many weddings in the glorious sunken garden like we did yesterday. Take the stairs or elevator up to the top of the tower and get the best 360 view of SB.

I’m glad my friend and I made time to stop here before we headed out. This is a free and very beautiful public experience. The view is great even on a hazy day. The architecture leaves you in awe of its historic significance and sheer size. For a seemingly simple structure there was much inside to explore and appreciate. Unfortunately the clock room was closed (Or maybe we missed a tour?), but it was very intriguing from what we could see through the glass.

Going up the tower is a must and I did via the stairs! What a workout! I wouldnt change my experience for anything else.
