*Covid review*Amazing tasting room that is upstairs directly on the pier with amazing views. They are currently are at limited capacity and only providing seats on their outdoor patio, first come first serve. See the server for a table. Theyll let you know if theres an approx wait time and put your name on the list for next available based on party size. Currently selling wine by the glass only but the variety of whites and reds are great and worth the visit for the views and people. They let us bring our own food (take out the trash you bring in) and enjoy. Locally owned and operated.

Incredible wine, and the staff is just as good! So much appreciation for this Santa Barbara staple. The business is family owned and operated, this is evident by the passion in each pour. Cant wait to go back!

Really good place with some high quality wines. We really enjoyed the duel, the Malbec and their Riesling. They don’t serve food, but they are nice enough to let you bring your own takeout food to eat while you sit and enjoy the wine you buy there.Due to COVID-19 they have limited seating because they can only seat outdoor on the patio. Otherwise they have a huge interior seating. The name tasting room is a little misleading, because they don’t let you sample the wines. That could be due to the COVID-19 pandemic however

Wine tasting is about $18 and they have a selection of all white or white/red mixed selection with 5 glasses. The wine is average but what really makes the experience enjoyable is the location and view. You can take the wine tasting glass, sit down in the patio, and slowly enjoy your wine while admiring the Santa Barbara view and cool ocean breeze. Once you are down, go back and they pour you your next glass. Easily can enjoy an hour at this location with company.

I truly cannot day enough good things about this place. Amazing wines with a phenomenal view! This tasting room is often staffed by the owners and is always a fun and inviting place to be. Sitting on the second story decking, out on the pier, you get an amazing view of the water AND the foothills that hug Santa Barbara. The wine, oh the wine! Delicious! Nice range of prices and great selection of varieties. Something for everyone! Oh, and dogs are very welcomed!

A great location! The wine tasting was on the higher side ($14-24 for a flight of 5 tastings), but the ocean view makes it worth it. The wines were tasty too. We each got a different flight (red, white, and mixed) and everyone was happy. There are games to play if youre so inclined, and there is both inside and terrace seating. If you get a chill, there is a basket of blankets for you to use. Also dog friendly!

Small but nicely decorated interior and furniture. They have tables on their balcony with the view of the beach but they tend to get filled up fast since the seatings are first come first serve. Great choice of wines and atmosphere with friendly staff

One of the primary differentiators between Deep Sea Tasting Room and other wine tasting rooms in Santa Barbara is the opportunity to experience breathtaking views of the sunset and the Pacific.I came here with my partner on a cloudy evening and while we couldnt experience the sunset, we did have a wonderful time on their rooftop.Below are some notes for Yelpers- This place is huge so theres ample seating for large groups inside and a couple of large tables in the rooftop. Seating is first come first served and a touch harder to find outside especially for groups greater than 4.- While they take orders for single glasses and bottles of wine, my recommendation would be to go for the Flights Menu which provides the chance to taste 5 different wines. A yelp check-in allows you to get a glass of chardonnay on the house.- If youre lucky enough to find a spot on the roof-top you surely will get the chance to get a glimpse of the sunset.Brownie points to both of our servers who were patient and wonderful while tending to such a large audience. Its worthy of calling out that the ambience and vibe at this place gives you a better value for money than the wine and Im not a wine connoisseur.

Always my first stop when visiting Santa Barbara! While on a road trip many years back, a few friends and I stumbled upon this amazing little tasting room using google maps. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be one of our most memorable tasting experiences because of the incredible view. It is an intimate little place with plenty of seating inside and out. Keep in mind that weekend seating may be more difficult to come by but tables clear up quickly as they only offer tastings, not food. Whoever designed the interior did a great job! Sitting outside on the patio allows you to enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the beach, downtown Santa Barbara, and the mountains surrounding Santa Barbara. It gives you a very unique perspective of the old mission-style city.Wines: Although they only have a small selection of whites and reds, they are all tasty. Usually, when wine tasting, you find one or two that you don’t like, but that wasn’t the case for this tasting room. Their wines are easy to drink and fruity. I even felt compelled to revisit a few because I couldn’t decide which bottle to purchase. All of their wines are sourced from and packaged in California so you know it’s good. California wine is one of a kind!Food: They do not offer any food but there are several restaurants on the pier that will suffice. The fish & chips sold below/next to the tasting room are a good lunch solution.Price: Tasting flights cost a couple dollars more than the wine tasting rooms in downtown off State St. & E. Yanonali St. but I think it’s definitely worth the extra dollar or two for the view.I recommend this place to locals and tourists alike. Everyone can come here and enjoy wine and spectacular views. I’ll be back soon with more friends and family!*edit: It has been years and I still make this place a must whenever Im in the area. I have recommended this to countless friends and family who have all said it was one of the highlights of their visits to downtown, mostly because of the wine and scenic view combination.

We loved the atmosphere, the place has a beautiful terrace that is great for sunsets with a nice wine. We had white and red, the white was a chardonnay and a red was called Ringo, named after one of the family dogs. We loved that they are dog friendly. The inside was beautiful, nice art work everywhere. The wines are a little pricey but is ok, everything is worth it.

A great experience. Wasnt sure how it would be given last minute decision. However, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The experience of being on Stearns Wharf and looking out on the ocean at sunset was really awesome. Didnt sit on the outer patio because of windy but great views to be had inside the tasting room as well. If you are into wine tasting dont miss this place. If I lived in Santa Barbara I am sure we would return here over and over. Great place to unwind with a nice glass of wine.

I joined Deep Sea late in the summer after taking some time to check out a few different winerys in the Funk Zone area. I found that I appreciated that the employees at Deep Sea made consistently made an effort to engage me in conversation, even when they were busy. I also loved the location on the pier. Im disappointed to say that after a few months as a member, I cancelled my membership yesterday post a negative experience with a manager. To be clear, the issue that lead to my experience with the manager was the direct result of an exchange with a another patron. That exchange with the patron wasnt even that big a deal. Conflict does and can happen, and it wasnt as though harsh words were exchanged between the person and I. However what I did NOT appreciate in any way shape or form was the fact that after this other patron started a conflict with me by making rude remarks. They went and got the manager to complain. When the manager arrived, they asked me to move without so much as acknowledging me and asking to hear what happened. The manager stated that they and the other patron had been friends for years. The manager went on to state that they wouldnt ask the person to relocate on the patio as the other patron sat smugly and ate their popcorn. The funny thing is that the manager, after pulling me to the side to have a conversation before I cancelled, admitted that they didnt know me and didnt know that I was also a member. They didnt know that I had been sitting there first and was not having a conversation that was any louder than the others on that patio. They didnt know that my conversation was in no way inappropriate or disruptive, and that the issue was completely based around the other patrons sense of entitlement to that space. But they didnt know because as opposed to exercising sound mediation skills and taking even a second to address me with something other than, will you move, they errord on the side of supporting the other patron.During the manager and Is private conversation I pointed out the fact this is precisely the reason that many POC complain about the manner in which privilege is weaponized by the aggressor. I also pointed out that that they reinforced that patrons sense of entitlement to space by backing them as tho their actions were appropriate. I can respect that the manager stated that they handled that situation completely wrong and apologized. I also acknowledged that they that they did so in that moment. However the fact still remains that the damage was done, the other persons rude behaviors were supported because they were friends, and I have no interest in patronizing an establishment that would be so dismissive of me as a paying member. Thats a level of blatant disrespect thats unbecoming, and there are far too many great winerys in the funk zone to deal with that kind of treatment.I will take my money else where and inform those in my network that they should consider doing the same.

The management allowed kids to run wild. I have never been to a wine bar with so many loud and wild kids. It is does not lead to a pleasurable wine bar ambiance. I do not mind kids, but having kids jumping up and down, shaking out tables, running and screaming is not what I want in a wine bar. I wish the management would have rules for kids as they do for adults.

Love this place! They have an amazing space, gorgeous view of the ocean (the only tasting room on the pier), and tasty wines! They have a delicious and extremely affordable rose, and I am crazy about their red blend and pinot noir. The winery is family owned and run and every time Im in theyre always incredibly warm. One of my absolute favorite things to do in SB is rent a kayak/stand up paddle board from the harbor, paddle over to the pier, tie up at the ladder just below deep sea, climb up for a tasting, and then climb down and paddle back.I definitely recommend this tasting room!!
