During Covid it’s hard to find places where you can socially distance! This place is a hidden gem if San Francisco. The walk up to the top is peaceful and scenic. One can either take stairs or the path - there are multiple paths to get to the top. The view of San Francisco downtown from the top is breath taking. Highly recommend parents with kids. Plenty of space to run round.
Mt Davidson is a lovely little island of tranquility towering over the city. The views are splendid. The best time to visit is in the afternoon just as the fog rolls in. It winds its way into the tops of the eucalyptus trees, making the woods feel more like a cloud forest than a suburban park. And the city below is gradually consumed beneath its misty tendrils.
Excellent place to hike. Its got amazing views of the city. Highly recommended place to visit.
Nice hike up thru a eucalyptus forest. Easy to find. Beautiful weather. Not many people.
Lots of folks walking around maskless, side by side taking up the whole trail. Decent views but not worth the risk right now.
One of my favorite places to hike. Stay in the trees on a hot day and avoid after a rain. Great views from the top.
A beautiful planted forest where you can relax away from most of the buzz of the city.
This is my go to to run and escape the city, although it is in the city-yet from up there with breathtaking views the mind naturally clears.
Cute suburban neighborhood with trails. Not great for picnicking and not much else around, view is ok.
Great views of the city. The trails are mostly not very steep. A lot of them are rather narrow, which gives a nice nestled in nature feeling
Great view of the city once you get to the top.
Love hiking to the top of the hill with friends. Great views, lots of interlocking paths. Dog friendly. Keep dogs on leash, coyote spotted recently!
Awesome peak of sf county Ive now been to them all
Loved my first hike on Mount Davidson. Really accessible and easy to do with a toddler and infant in an ergo. Not strenuous, but fantastic views of the city in many directions (no Golden Gate Bridge, though). I have no idea how it took me so long to get here... Half hour drive from mid-peninsula well worth it for an easy trek with multi-million dollar views. This is now a new go-to spot to bring out oft owners who dont want anything too strenuous.
My friend showed me this place and I felt in love with it.I like it way more than, let’s say, Twin Peaks. The view is gorgeous: the city, the bay, yachts, lights. It’s also great to be in nature instead of a concrete parking lot. There is a small and easy hike there and it’s so cool to find yourself in a tiny eucalyptus “forest” in the middle of San Francisco!
5 star for spectacular view of San Francisco. This place does not attract huge crowds, which is something I consider big specially during pandemic.
Good little hike that isnt overwhelming for my little dogs.
Hidden gem of San Francisco! Highest elevation point in SF. Great views of the bay, city, downtown, and twin peaks. Much less crowded compared to twin peaks. Maybe a short hike to the top ( 10 min). Winds will be strong. Street Parking maybe tough to find.
Beautiful hike last weekend. Peaceful and not too crowded. Gorgeous views of the city and lots of picnic spots :) Beautiful smell from trees and flowers!
Beautiful hike, amazing views!
Beautiful space, gracefully gazing back at the 48 Hills.
Regardless of the weather, mount Davidson has a lot to offer. If it’s a nice sunny day, you can enjoy the wide open view of beautiful San Francisco city on the top.The trail and entire mountain turns into mysterious place on a foggy day.
Its a short enough hike, usually covered with fog which gives it an extra mystic appeal. On a clear day, the views are breath taking.
Such a hidden gem of a park. Great place for peaceful hikes with your quiet, well mannered, well behaved off leash dogs. We love it here. Best at dawn or dusk for views & birds...can be very windy...but worth it. Love it in the spring.
A good hike to the top through wilderness to be rewarded with breathtaking views of the city.
Easy hike up. Fantastic views of SF Bay, Sutro Tower, SF skyline, Mt Diablo, south bay and East Bay
Beautiful views of the city and the trails aren’t too crowded.
Lovely park in the middle of the bustling city. Mt Davidson provides a great place for a run, short hike or dog walk with amazing views of downtown SF, Oakland, the Bay, Twin Peaks, Sutro... No wonder, its the highest point in SF. A giant cross adorns this park (on private land) as a memorial to the Armenian genocide.
About a 5 minute hike for a nice little view of the city
If you are looking for a short hike in the morning with an amazing view then Mt.Davidson is the perfect place. It amazing how secluded it felt being smack in the middle of of the city.
Nice small hike with a good pay off in city views
Gorgeous views. Arthur C. Clarke would be proud to see the surprise at the top.
Nice little get away! Really close. Fun hike! Great view of the city! Interesting history lesson at he cross.
This is the highest point in San Francisco. Great views of the city on a sunny day. You have to walk a little to get to the viewpoint, so very uncrowded compared to nearby Twin Peaks.
Beautiful view of Twin Peaks, downtown SF, and Mission District/the Bay. A little hike to get up, the soil on the steep trail can be a bit lose so careful when youre coming down and dont slip. Once you get up there though, best view of SF you can get, perfect location to watch sunset as well.
Excellent views from this easy to get to location.
Stay away too beautiful
Nice drone spot
Really easy and short hike but still gets you heart pumping. Also nice view of the city.
When not fogged in, ...
Nice view from the highest natural point in SF
Great hike or run or a nice place to take your dog. No overcrowded, peaceful and views are gorgeous.Minus one star because it was not easy to find the place (entrance located in residential area).
The best view of the city, highest natural peak and hardly ever crowded. Luckily we live on one of the slopes and so were always on a walk up there. Best of course when its not too foggy.
Hidden gem of hiking and forest bathing in the middle of the city. So glad its near my house
Small but quiet. Nice view not quite 360 but close. A great alternative to Twin Peaks.
Its a hike and a climb...but the views are worth it.
Best panoramic view
The entrance is muddy. Dont walk up here with nice shoes.
Beautiful view, great for dog walks, and nature hikes. Amazing peak summit. Best smelling air. Was humid and lots of mosquitos, so bring some spray.
Great views of downtown San Francisco, east toward the bay, and south. Walking to the the park was a great workout due to very steep streets. Most of Mt Davidson is occupied by residential neighborhoods, except for the summit, which is forested & crisscrossed by trails. The main trails are well maintained, but some of the narrower trails are very steep and slippery from scree.
Absolutely beautiful!
Great place not far from Golden Gate Park
Beautiful excursion that isnt rundown by tourists! Great with the locals and has really nice little hikes.
Has one of the prettiest views of the city! You do have to hike up to the top but its not too bad of a walk, although if you have mobility issues you may want skip and visit Twin Peaks instead
Lots of great little hiking trails! The view is fantastic from the top.
Hands down its the best place to see all of the city
Great views of San Francisco neighborhoods, nice short hike and of course The Cross!
Its a short leisurely walk. Not really even a hike to be honest but its pleasant.
Beautiful and amazing
I love this place. I would hike here when I was a kid. A great spot to get away from the city while being in the city. A beautiful oasis. Lots of trails so you cant get bored. The huge cross is an interesting goal. Saw some Stellers Jays there recently. Didnt remember them when I was younger, a cool, spunky bird.
It was awesome to see the view was amazing especially for the first time
Amazing big cross at the top of the mount.
Great view. Even when the city is covered in fog. The hike up is not an easy one but really worth it.
Nice place for a hike and great view of the city.
Not as fun to bike as sutro
Forest with great view
You’ll get a nice view of the city without the crowds
Tallest peak in the city. Nice view of the downtown and Marin, when theres no fog.
Incredible views, I reccomend hiking to the top.
View is amazing.Nice easy hike to the top and cross.Plenty of parking usually.
My sister, she show her vazhin, to, my brother Bilo, and she say, You will never get this! You will never get this! La la la la la! She all behind her cage, she crazy crazy, everybody laugh, you will never get this. But then one day, he break a cage, and he get this! And we all laugh. High five!
Surprisingly lush on the western side
Stunning views of the Bay from the highest point in the city
Great views of San Francisco and the bay area. It also has easy hiking trails.
Great place to take a little home
The main park entrance is terrible, however the locals path entrance at Rockdale and LaBica is awesome as is the path leading up to top!
Love this place. It has Great view and good place to hike and enjoy fresh air.
Not crowded, great views of the city, nice escape from the hustle and bustle.
Good hikes and views. The eucalyptus trees are very nice.
Pretty park with great views of the city and surrounding suburb like residential areas.
Fairly easy hike from trail head, though it is uphill, the view at the top is a reward worth the effort.
Enjoying the beautiful weather reserved for San Francisco 75th Dogwood Festival. So many art vendors. Much bigger than Spring Market on Ponce
Very beautiful
Its a short hike, perfect for an hour or two of diversion. Still well within the city, so dont expect any peace and quiet, but it looks nice and theres a few different paths to take. Certainly prettier than walking the mountainous sidewalks.
Awesome place to hike and take in the scenes of the city.
Feel it higher than twin peak
Lovely trail through the woods with the scents of cypress and eucalyptus in the air. The views of the city from the top are spectacular. We also enjoyed seeing the cross, and reading about its history.
Its beautiful to see view of San Francisco. Its peaceful
This is a much better place to visit than twin peaks. There are several trails. Some are long and narrow while others are short and steep. Worth visiting for breathtaking views of the city and the bay.
Lived in the city for years...only just found out about the trail and the giant cross!
Great hike with spectacular views of the city. Look for Carl to come floating in.
Nice climb up to the hill!
This was a nice little gem I didnt see coming until it came up hard and fast right in front of my eyes. Instead of being startled at how fast it came I kept my cool and admired how huge it was and long it must have taken to get it in the hole. I have to admit that I did have a moment during this where my jaw began to drop and mouth opened as I took it all in, quite specular yes but memorable is another story. I mean its Albanian I think is what my sister told me when she saw it and short my sister who is much younger then me and less versed in what that side of the ocean had to offer Id already... What was it I was talking about, I forgot.
Beautiful view of the city and of the bay
A nice park for a walk
Amazing short hike in the urban forest. Green lush vegetation and views of the city at the end.
Its a f-ing park entrance!Wooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaahhh!!!
