One of the best little parks from which to view the beautiful San Francisco skyline. Theres really only one path, but you can combine it with a walk up to Walter Haas park nextdoor or a loop around to the delightful Harry Street stairs a block away.
A lovely hill. A lot of space is taken up by infrastructure (walkways, a maintenance shed, playground, and bathrooms), but the view is decent and its a low key chilling experience. Honestly not worth the trek of youre not nearby, though.
Beautiful views from here, with well maintained trails! Sometimes theres a rope swing but it comes and goes...the City takes it down but neighbors put it back up.
Beautiful view and a decent walk up and down to get a quick workout in
. If you are coming for the swing, its not always there. It can get windy, so be prepared with layers.
I first learned of this park when one of my kiddo’s parents forgot to mention that they cancelled therapy that day. I decided to enjoy my free evening with a walk, and eventually ran into this park.Years later I decided to go here with my camera and take a long exposure. The way the houses in the near ground layer so perfectly with the hills and city in the distance is breathtaking in person.
Spend a half hour at this dusty outcrop and enjoy a great view of San Francisco downtown and SOMA. Framed by familiar Aussie gumtrees, the rope swing written about by Gary Kamiya (Cool Grey City of Love, p. 163) is currently reduced to just some tattered ropes until a new batch of neighbourhood kids fixes up the swing for a fresh generation. This is one of the less visited views of San Francisco but far preferable to the teeming sweaty masses and stark concrete of Twin Peaks. San Francisco with soul and atmosphere, and a eucalyptus scent of home for wandering Australians.
Great spot to catch a view of sf downtown and even the other side of the bay. Different times of the day bring different lighting effects. Be sure to come on a clear day so you can see the distance. Note it’s a somewhat steep climb. Easy to find free parking in the nearby blocks, although not at the park entrance.
Probably one of the best views of San Francisco! If youre looking for a walk around the Noe / Glen Park area, definitely check it out. Especially pretty at night too if youre driving by on Beacon St.
Good alternative for twin peaks
Lovely park with beautiful views in multiple directions. Very serene and fairly popular.
Nice views, easy access by car or just by walk
Unique view from heights of noe valley
Incredible views and easy to Uber to. Take a walk to Mitchell’s ice cream (10 min walk) after you visit the hill
This modest neighborhood green space offers a small trail network & wildlife viewing opportunities.
Great place to view the city and get a pleasant breathe from the fresh breeze!
The best part of this park was the swing, but the last couple of times I’ve been here, it’s been cut over and over again. Sad, but probably a safety reason. The view is still there though.
Beautiful view, but 4 stars because you never know if the swing will be there of not
Nice place
Beautiful views in a quirky Suburbia. A fun little swing in the hill if youre willing to trust a rope thats clearly snapped a few times in the past
Great views of the city! Hidden gem
We went there to take a picture on the swing, but the swing is sadly not there anymore. The view is amazing though. You can see the city from a very nice view!
It has a nice view !
Epic view, sadly the rope swing is no more.
Overrated...no goats at all!
This is not a very popular tourist destination, and that’s why I love it. Billy Goat Hill is a small hill with amazing views of San Francisco. It’s located south of Noe Valley and has a rope swing hanging from a tree at the top of the hill. The downtown cityscape isn’t super close to this hill. But you get to see a lot of other details that make San Francisco Beautiful. This small park is a great spot for a mini photo session if you love views of the city and don’t love crowds. Take it from me, a family photographer (K. Sienk Photography)!Pros:Easy ParkingGreat viewsNot crowdedCons:Not a lot of variety for photo shootsWindyGreat for: mini sessions, maternity sessions, milestone sessions in the first year, weekday sessions. Not good for: trying to avoid wind, if you want a lot of variety in the background of your photos.
Love this spot. Great views of the city. We love going at night and hanging out. Sometimes high school kids go, but its still quite chill and never crowded.
What a nice view of the city. The trial is really easy.
Great view, especially at sunset/dusk. This review not sponsored by McDonalds
Beautiful but those steps almost took these southern fried chic l belle out
Amazing view! Highlight of a nice little hike up through Diamond Heights.
Beautiful view.
Full little hill with great views!
One of the lesser known hills where the views are five star worthy.
Noyce view but no swinging bench no lmore out there, free along street parking except Tue and Thursdays 6 -11 am, worth to stop by for great picture
Tiny hill with beautiful views.
My favorite view in Noe Valley
Get a $6 burrito and enjoy the million dollar view.
Nice views of downtown San Francisco from this location.
Small quiet park with great city view!
The ropes for the swing from Sense 8 are still there. Great views with such friendly neighbors.
Romantic walk
Incredible views of downtown San Francisco.
Beautiful day it was all around! Hanging out with l cool friends, eating hummus and laughing all the time! Wonderful view of course helped too! Go there!
If the damn yuppies stopped cutting the rope it would be better. Mind your business and let people have fun you hill dwelling elitist.
Gorgeous! Especially now that the drought is over. Were finally seeing some greenery. 180* City and East Bay view. This is where people from the city fled from the devastation of 1906 earthquakes. Shanties were set up.
Great views. Gets crowded on weekends later in the day.
It’s a nice viewpoint. There’s always parking nearby. There’s really nothing I can complain about regarding this place, it’s just nice.
Its a beautiful place, the swing set is something that I always wanted to take a picture with and I was able to do so. However I went back a month later and saw the mat the swing had been broken. HOWEVER, theres a nice ledge to still take a picture from with a really nice view of the city. Also theres like a 3 min walk you have to do to get up there. Its super easy and worth to check out!
The iconic swing has been removed
Its a steep cliff side located in San Fran. You can walk up or down the trail. There is a tree swing you can swing on. As well as off to the side there is a little trail where you can over look the City and take pictures. Its a very tucked away spot you can drive past and never see it. Its definitely worth a stop to check out and swing on.
The swing was no longer there but still a nice beautiful view of the city!
Absolutely amazing view and place. If you’re in the San Francisco area you HAVE to go to billy goat hill and see the view for yourself
Fantastic View!!!
Great little hill with good views of the city. used to be a rope swing here but on occasion it has been removed or cut by wild cards.
Attn Tourists -- please stop coming for the swing and spreading your trash. There is no swing, the Rec & Park Dept cuts it down everytime, and the only trash can is at the top on Beacon St, which is apparently too far for you to take your lunch and beers. This is a great local park for residents to walk their dogs and take a morning run as part of the Twin Peaks hiking trail system.
Amazing views of the city, Bay Bridge, and the bay from this park. However, the yelp review etc do call out a tree swing in this park, but its been removed due to the tree branch getting weaker. There is a short trail (
Beautiful view of San Francisco. Interesting geologic outcrops. Easy parking curbside. Great photo spot.
A secret gem of a park! With great views of the city and two swings on a tree made by neighborhood, this place definitely adds to my go to places when I am in the city for some alone time and meditation. Best to come here when its not foggy.
A nice little neighborhood. Great place to walk your dog and taking a relaxing hike. Such a perfect place to see san francisco
Not impressed. expected to see goats, only jews.
Beautiful panoramic view of the city! Great spot to hang out on a weekend morning.
Wow - what a hidden gem in Noe Valley! I just discovered this place and the view was amazing. Its a great place for sunrise or sunset pictures of the city. The swing is a bit weird at first and you will question the safety of it. But hell forgetitaboutit go for a swing you wont regret it. :)
Beautiful look out
Great little area to walk your dog and hike around or just kick back and enjoy a great view of our wonderful city.
Great views for pleasure or photos
Beautiful view of the city! The swing is a little tricky to get on by yourself-- if youre short. I recommend going with a friend the first time.
A small and quiet park overlooking the city. Great view. There used to be a tire swing, but no more. Access to the lookout point is available from both the top and bottom.
A totally unknown beauty!
Really nice view but theres no swing anymore
Love seeing all of the unaffordable housing on this hill. I like to imagine that I am in one of the 8 figure houses sipping 40 year old single malt scotch while taking in the wonderful view.
Great view of the city
Smoke weed every day !
Great little neighborhood green space. Good views of the city.
Take a swing whole enjoying a full view of SF, must see!
Great view
Trained Technicians, Fast Service, little Expensive!!
Small steep park. Nice short trails for exercising. Great views of downtown San Francisco.
Easily accessible hill park with great views of the eastern part of the city. The swing has been taken down, though. :(
Don’t remember anything about this place.
The biggest major let down so far this year. We decided to jump start the year by going to the park and checking out the sights. Ive heard people rave about Billy Goat Hill as a must see, with sweeping views of San Francisco.Reality Check: Billy Goat Hill only has views of one side of the city. The other faces another hill. And the picturesque swing that everyone has been seen on? Tattered ropes left behind with no seat or bars, too high to even swing around on. Do yourself a favor and drive a little way across to Bernal Heights Park, with truly sweeping 360 degree views of the city.
Great place to watch the city and reflect
