I enjoyed the Mass we went to here (especially the music), but the priest did err afterwards in that he attempted to correct my friend who had knelt for the reception of communion. According to the current Catholic procedures and norms for the US Catholic Church, its totally fine for someone to kneel for communion. But the priest, who was still operating based on an old (2003) version of the US Catholic standards, decided to try and correct him. It of course isnt a huge deal, but it did sour things a bit for us, especially after we learned what he did was wrong.

A very beautiful church inside and out. It is a small more intimate church. We went to the weekday 12:10 pm Mass, it was a very nice Mass and the priest gave a very good and interesting service. If I lived in SF near this church I would attend services here.

NDV is a small yet diverse Catholic Church with adjoining grade school. As a Marist congregation, NDV hosts visitors from around the world with an open and welcoming parish community rooted in faith, hope and love. The sermons by Father Juan are both inspirational and relevant to our lives today, helping its members and visitors consciously seek out their own paths to Christ. The music ministry is also lovely, with parishioners and visitors moved to applaud at the end of most masses. If your travel takes you to San Francisco, be sure to stop by NDV to enrich your journey in faith! I am happy to have made NDV a part of my life over the past 10 years that I’ve been a parishioner, and I hope to see you there!

The stain glass scenes are quite beautiful. Not a large chapel, and open to the public. The exterior architecture is a little geometric and unusual with Romanesque details.

A sanctuary of quiet, but the shrouded statues, wrapped for.Easter perhaps, lent an austere feel. A good place to pray silently.
