Torpedo wharf is a wonderful little spot with a great view of the bridge. There are restrooms, handicapped parking, and a small cafe and gift shop. Its also located right next to a very nice hiking trail that has great views, or a short walking to the neighboring fort. Nearby is also a great beach and a cool rock climbing gym. This is a must-see spot to visit on a trip to San Francisco.
Cool place with a great view. 4 stars due to being overcrowded and lots of people werent following social distancing guidelines. Regardless its a fun spot to fish or crab from while enjoying a great sunset. Be wary tho because it can be quite chilly out on the wharf itself.
Great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the sky line of San Francisco from a perspective of being out over the water. Great picture area.
Lots of people fish here and theyre usually always nice lending me fishing gear and sharing bait. the fishermen would also catch stingrays but choose not to keep them and end up letting me have it.
The Golden Gate Bridge can be viewed in all its grandness and beauty from this wharf. Theres parking available and lots of room to take in the view without any overcrowding. You can see the whole bridge on one side, and the city on the other; and you can look out over the whole bay. Such a calm and relaxing atmosphere!
Lots of Rock and Dungeness crabs. Make sure you bring your rulers to make sure its legal size.
Excellent crab fishing area. Locals are helpful with tips and plenty of space to share
Alot of history on this place, very nice
This is arguably the best view of the golden gate. you get about 30 feet out on the water on a little wooden wharf. there are people fishing and a ton of tourists! hopefully youre able to swing by on a day where the bridge isnt too cloudy!
So beautiful, and so special to me, because I was there visiting when the first stay home order
Fog passing by the bridge, awesome view
Great views and nice place to stretch your legs. Alcatraz and Golden Gate bridge are right there.
Perfect place to catch crab, fish and a good time lol
Dont go fishing if you see a seal in the water, youll only be feeding it and showing off fir the tourist.Other than that good crabbing area and you can get some good sized fish fron the ocean.
Do i need a license to do fishing at this wharf?? It looks like a great place to visit and have some fun...
Little windy sometimes. Bri g jacket. Amazing view and great crabbing
As long as its not crowded, this place is great spot for some night fishing! We went for crabs, and all caught enough to take home dinner! Amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and the city. We even did some grilling on a portable grill. Overall, great spot and lots of fun!
Best place to take a selfie with golden gate
The view around this area will give different view (lower angle) of the Golden gate bridge. Also you can see the shore area of the pacific ocean. Some place may not as clean as you expect. Especially the public restroom around this place was not good during my visit.
Perfect view of golden gate bridge
I love san Francisco
Great views for locals and tourists
Cought crabs but super windy, really nice place
Great.good info screans and shop
Nice place for a walk
Great views. Perfect spot for pictures.
Best place to sit and relax while catching crustaceans.
Never gets old.
Some of there best views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
A good view point for the SF city and the Golden Gate Bridge
Great place to get great shots of the Golden Gate Bridge
Just beautiful, what a view of the city and bridge :)
Spacious pier with clear views of the bridge and Alcatraz. Lots of birds and fisherman.
Great spot for panoramic shots of the Golden Gate Bridge and downtown San Franciscos skyline! Seagulls and small birds roam about, and we spotted a seal as well. And no, we didnt feed any of them.
Why Go Um..Even Flow..
A little run-down of a wharf, but still a great spot to snap some sexy bridge pictures!
Very scenic. Be prepared for wind It is fun to watch the kite surfers!!
Awesome view of golden gate bridge. Nice place for a walk. Also good for fishing and crabbing.
Another good spot nearby the shore. Its a very nice place and you can spend some time here by watching the back water.
Awesome view of the golden gate and the coastline on a sunny day. Lovely clean water.
Best place to crabing, especially fall time.
This is a great spot to fish, crab, picnic, fly kite, play in the water or site see. This fishing pier is old and has no safety rails so watch your kids and your step.Dress warm its a coin toss with the weather.
The best spot to view and take pictures of the world famous Golden Gate Bridge.. Magnificent! People also come here for picnics and fishing.
Great location to hang out, have a picnic, and get good pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a small parking lot, but its probably easier to use a taxi/Uber/Lyft or to bike to the location. Theres also a small store and cafe here.
Crissy Field is great. By all means go. But the wharf is just an oversized dock. Yeah, its got the bay views, but so does the entire park.
Great view of the golden gate Bridge and downtown.
Great area to walk around and get your shots of the bridge. Several great picnic spots nearby as well as paths alongside the water. Parking can me a hassle but that’s just the way it is near any landmark. Cute gift and coffee shop nearby as well.
On a Saturday you can see a large number of people including families fishing for crab here. Also has a very good panoramic view of the golden gate bridge and surroundings including alkatraz prison, San francisco city, Fort point and a lots of other attractions around from the sea level.
You can take good pics here of the golden gate bridge here.
Nice lateral view of the Golden Gate bridge. You can get great shots from there. Saw lots of people fishing and crabbing as well...
♡
Best place to watch sunset!!!
Great place to visit. Good location to enjoy with family.
Best kept secret in San Francisco. Next to Crissy Field is Torpedo Wharf which is a pier that you can walk on. Besides locals fishing off the pier, you can stand and take a 180 degree unobtrusive view of the Golden Gate Bridge. This pier is the closest thing to take photos and videos of the Golden Gate Bridge for free!#accessiblity - You can easily walk, roll (Wheelchair or stroller), run, or bike from the pavement (next to the Warming Hut Bookstore and Cafe - access to public restrooms too) to this pier. If you have a young child, be sure to hold their hand tightly. There is no guard rails or railing.
It is good for crab fishing and fish too and bring your jacket too some time the wind very windtoo bundle up
Must visit if you like to get good panaromic view of golden gate bridge from sea level.Close to Golden gate welcome centre, walk down a 10 mins trail to get to torpedo wharf. Temperature go down in the evening (my visit was in October) so be prepared..Very good place for a twilight / sunset picture at the GG Bridge..(Sunset place varies in summer and winterSetting sun is not seen through the bridge in fall and winter.)
A really nice view of the Golden Gate can be seen from here. Took some photos and selfies from there! Theres even a gift shop nearby.
This place provides a great view of the golden Gate bridge. There are also people fishing here so it feels very relaxed.
Beautiful place to catch the sunrise over San Francisco Bay!
Beatiful CLOSE UP VIEW OF OUR Golden Gate Bridge. 1st time crabbing. I loved it. It was great.
Loving spot to walk and relax while in the city. Astonishing structures with remarkable designs.
Awesome location for crabbing with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Cool stuff
Torpedo Wharf is not only a great fishing spot but also a good place to admire and photograph the Golden Gate Bridge.
Awesome place to relax and take some photos
Trails, history, fishing, and coffee; what more could you ask for? How about the Golden Gate Bridge and sailboats? Its a great place to spend an hour or a day. Did I mention the San Francisco skyline, the Bay Bridge, and Alcatraz? No extra charge. Dont forget to dress warmly. The wind can get pretty cool as the sun goes down.
Nice location to watch the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge.
Scenic
Great unobstructed view of the bridge and the city. Nice little National park store and cafe.
Easy parking. Great views.
Does anyone knows if we need a licensed for fishing crabs.
Really neat place with a great view of the bridge and city!
Over crowded and you cant keep dungeonous crab
Great spot.....not a torpedo in sight....yep get the history
A good view point for Golden Gate bridge.
Awesome view of the bridge. If you are looking for a nice place to view the Golden Gate Bridge, this is your location. I went at sunset and it was amazing. Lot of people around enjoying the area, also lots of people fishing while I was there. Perfect spot to take some nice photos or just enjoy the view.
Great views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
While this entire area offers excellent views and photo opportunities of the Golden Gate, Torpedo Wharf is easily the best location for unobstructed morning shots of the bridge. At the other end of the day, you can get some excellent zoom shots of Alcatraz near sunset. Other than that there;s not really too much else to this place. Its a wharf, what did you expect? Its the views that make it spectacular.
Great place to take photos of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Nice place with great views to take pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Downtown San Francisco and birds. Its also seems like a good place for fishing. Some seating options would be nice though.
Torpedo Wharf is an iconic place for a lot of the locals stretching as far as Fresno! What do they all have in common? Their love for seafood but in particularly crabs. Not not the dungeoness that you and I are used to seeing over at the fishermans wharf but the rock crabs that are distinct in their arrays of red to brown hues. Dungeoness crabs can be taken off this pier but only during its season limit. All other crabs are legal to take. Another thing that set this place apart from other area is just the sheer backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge. There are plenty of restrooms around, BBQ pit as well for those living the outdoors and a little visitor hut for the picky ones that demands hot chocolate or just dropping by for a little info.
Great place to see both the Golden gate bridge and the city line. Only drawback is the worn pavement.
For anybody that likes to crab this is the spot to goits way better than the Bodega Bay because you dont have to do so much
Only place I come to when I come here
Great views of the city and the bridge.
So many people
