The Shrimp is excellent. Be careful and check everything
Pire 45 l love the bay area.
We visited the submarine, which is awesome. The arcade game centre is wonderful, with antique and new arcade games. You can spend hours there having fun. Also nice to sit outside, enjoy street singers songs, while eating the huge crabs brought nearby. Many seagulls would accompany you and wait for your breads .
Do you like seagulls? This is the place for you . Besides the seagulls this is a wonderful place to take a stroll and visit the different museums. The arcade museum is a must see, they have different arcades and old times machines. Make sure you bring some change or some bills to change into quarters. There is also a submarine museum and other ships at the harbor. Many restaurants nearby that serve clam chowder in sourdough bowls.
I worked on all of these piers in the 70’s and 80’s as a telephone man. First with Pacific Telephone, then with Comstock Communications. What a cool job! I worked all the way out on the pier 45. I forget which was 45A and 45C. One time I ran a feeder cable from Pier 45 to Pier 39. I had to use a motorboat and sometimes a raft. Every job was an adventure!
Watch the boats come in loaded with Dungeness that will soon turned into cocktails at one of the outdoor stations and served in paper cups with cocktail sauce. There is an arcade of classic games that still draw many families introducing the classics to the next generation to love as they did and still do. There are a historical ship popular with kids and adults to explore and much more around this place to discover.
This was a fun outing. First time in San Francisco. We liked seeing the sea lions. Prepare to spend some money on food if you like to taste everything.
The beautiful place. I hope will come back again. American great - love
A very different place. Must visit if you live anywhere in bay area. Very vibrant and lively.
Busy and lots of interesting sites. Loved the antique arcade, submarine docked right outside and seal watching!
Good place to know, nothing incredible but it’s a good spot if you are walking near by
Love Pier 45. Come on down and checkout the many wonderful shops and restaurants.
Love this place. Brings back many memories
On the way to pier 39, wonderful spotFood things to see and do.
View is wonderful! Walking along the embarcadero is very pleasant and relaxing.
Definitely a cool to see location just north of Fishermans Wharf. Check it out!
Crazy windy, but good place to see sea lions and watch the boats go by
Great place, visitors centre and war ship to see and look over. Also submarine plenty information of both
Great stop to work up out of the cold
Awesome old timey arcade is definitely worth the visit. There are some really strange games in there, let me tell you. Was mildly disappointed that they didnt have Zoltar. There are a few other fortune telling machines though. All over the area are seafood restaurants of varying quality. The going rate for a whole Dungeness crab seems to be $40-50. Sometimes more, rarely less. Very touristy area, so be prepared for higher than normal prices for most items like souvenirs.
Really fun to walk around, nice views too.
Lots of things to see and do along with many great places to eat
They are starting to work on dismantling the building that was burnt down.
Nice location, but be aware, stay away from the tourist traps
Pokemon go spoof laia ka kal thinna
Fishermans Wharf is my favorite part of San Francisco. Its fun to watch all the sea lions bask in the sun around Pier 45.
Cool spot with lots of old games
At Pier 45 you will find among other things two interesting and free museums, namely the Museum of Mechanics and The Triangle.
Very interesting. Cool place to visit.
Pier 45 is a cool place to chill out and enjoy a moment of Serenity
Loved the 80s arcade games.
Quiet place to enjoy the bay on a sunny day
Just a neat place to visit. Music, art and food.....
Great place to visit. $$$
Always lovely been there
A wonderful place to go back in time
Ever been to I-drive in Orlando? Basically the same thing. Standard tourist restaurants, lots of out of towners.
Ferries, snacks and a great view of the bay area
It was nice
Reduced to ashes, still recommend
Nice place and beautiful historical ship.
Theres a submarine tour.
Working pier with plenty of seafood restaurants and stands. Super fresh and delicious offerings.
I loved it, and the view was amazing
Great seafood and street performers
Parking an 18 wheeler in this area is difficult. There is plenty of seafood in this area. Alcatraz is not far from here. There are tour boats and tour busses in this area as well.
Pier 45 is a wonderful place to visit while in San Francisco.

Really great old arcade with some of my favourite childhood games
Plenty of things to see and do while at the pier.
The SS Jeremiah OBrien is a cargo ship, docked at Pier 45 and is the last Liberty ship in existence that supplied the Allied invasion of Normandy- also known as D-Day in the year 1944. She is operated by a volunteer crew and is still fully operational and cruises the bay.You can tour the ship every day from 9am - 4pm, almost all areas of the ship are open. See the Triple Expansion Steam engine that was featured in the movie, Titanic. Regular admission $12, Seniors $8, special pricing for kids, students and families. Non-profit, Historic Landmark, Historic Steam Landmark.
A working pier on SF Bay. Industrial, trailer trucks, dumpsters, forklifts, and parking. The west apron has hoists for unloading commercial fishing boats. There’s an ice house and machine to crush and blow it into the fish holds of boats and bins for shipping. Not without rats.
Presently on fire.
Nice place
Fun fun fun
Nice!
Vantage games amazing experience, will never forget this place so much fun!
Tourest place
This doesnt have the tons of touristy shops of 39 but has a battleship and submarine and unobstructed views of the ocean and fishing and crabbing boats.
If youre ever curious what it takes to unload boats off a SF pier or want to buy some super fresh fish, you ought to take a peek. Its definitely not a glamour place, nor will a visit guarantee that youd get to see a boat unloading, but it definitely makes you appreciate the work it takes to get fresh fish to your plate and into your belly!
