Y fiancé and I walked in to HIVE after the Spanish restaurant down the way was closed. Glad we did. Drink selection was great. Food selection is great, except we are pescatarians so the selection for us was not too great. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad (gracious with their serving of Ahi) and fiancé shrimp wrap, which were delicious.Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Definitely will be going back.

Karaoke rooms themed after different alcohol brands. Its a fun place but karaoke system lags and its confusing. Wide variety of Korean and American music. Takes too damn long to look for songs and artists. Food was yummy but beer was not. Slow service.

Lots of rooms ranging in size. Plenty of booze and the staff is very friendly. This is not a hole-in-the-wall place. And the prices are reasonable. I didnt try the food since we ate just before. The selections of songs are exactly like Ive seen at other karaoke bars.

Korean food at this spot - delicious. You wont be disappointed in the menu and service. The service was friendly and sociable. Reminds me of a place in New York I loved to visit.

Came here for dinner and then karaoke with a few girlfriends and our daughter’s (under 18). The dinner itself was fine. Nothing mind blowing, but tasty. The bulgogi and garlic fries were great. We also ordered gizzards, but they were over cooked and tough. They have karaoke rooms in the back of the restaurant. You get a discount for karaoke if you are dinner there. So that was nice. Karaoke was fun!! Anyone under 18 has to be out of the premises by 9:30, so we had to leave by then, but if you’re there with all adults you can sing Long into the night!

The best part? No line! Came on a Sunday and there was happy hour until 7pm. Happy hour on Sundays? Oh yeah! A nice selection of beer on tap. AYCE option for chicken lover, which I personally didnt choose. Dont miss out on the curry! It is a must try! The surf and turf fries is LOADED! Good to share with friends.

Terrible service, cold food and bad bar-tending. I went to the location on a Saturday when you would think the location would be full and have plenty of service people, but no. The location hardly had anyone there, yet the bartenders were all packed and helping patrons. I went to a bar only to wait 30 minutes before a bartender would serve me. There sense of who arrived first was not on their mind at all. A group was served twice before I was even talked to. Once I ordered my food and drinks the bartender left me to walk to a register 3 different times to put in the order, to place the drink order and then to charge me. I was trying to figure out why, but there really was no reason and made sense why the service was so slow. Then as my group was waiting for our food, we tried to ignore to the terribly balanced karaoke. The food came out after another 30 mins, which you would hope it would have come over hot like it was just cooked, but no. The fries were cold, the bulgogi was cold, like it had been frozen and the stir-fry rice was microwaved with the middle freezing and the outside burning hot. When it came to the drinks the bartenders look like they know what theyre doing, but dont. One friend ordered whiskey on the rocks and the bartender not only placed th ice in the glass and then searched for the whiskey, but once he found it he changed glasses and poured the melted water into the whiskey. Do not go here unless things distractedly change or youre drunk out of your mind already, which many people there seemed to be and they were still serving them or you just want to ruin your night.

Nice spot if you like private room karaoke! We went on a Sunday so all the rooms were discounted 50%. Spent less than $200 to feed and entertain 15 people. The song lists didnt have everything we wanted though so a point off for that. We really wanted to end with Closing Time.

HIVE serves food, and has video games and karaoke, but it principally aspires to be a hook-up bar for young people. Their fried chicken has a lightly-salted crispy and crumbly batter, pleasant taste and texture, and is moderately moist and juicy. Better than I expected.However, service was awful. Just atrocious. And I wont be coming back due to that. What else can I say about this place? The mens restroom smells like cigarettes. The fries were meh. You can see into the kitchen here, so you know theyre not totally screwing with your food.

Free soup, bought a plate of gizzards, and popcorn chicken from the other side menu. Food was slightly under seasoned but nothing a little side of salt and pepper to self taste didnt fix. Which works out better because i prefer less salt than my bf. Asian button server magic at its best, no hovering waiter popping by with food stuffed into your mouth and before you run out you can call them over to put in another order. Not bad for a sunday night. Pretty empty.

Very cool looking place with karaoke rooms. Should be great, but only like 11 beers and drinks are small. Karaoke rooms in foreign language and English options limited. The wings are good and the jalapeno ranch sauce is bomb, so it still works as a beer and wings joint.

We had such a fun time here! We had a party of 4 so we got a smaller room and would have loves a bigger one to dance, but not going to explain. Food and drinks were really good. Could have more song selection, but thats my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, fantastic!

Karaoke night at HIVE was fun! Need to go back. Prices werent steep but I would say moderate for what youre getting. They had a pretty vast variety of songs although if youre wanting to sing Spanish music you should definitely look elsewhere as they didnt have not one spanish classic or hit. And they were missing a few random his that normally you find at a Karaoke bar. But I would definitely come back. 5 stars

First time visiting. Its a really neat place. The food was decent. Service was good. Prices were decent. Karaoke room was from. I just wish they had a larger selection of songs.

Really disappointed in this place. This was pretty bad.We made a reservation several days in advance to make sure we had a larger room. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that the person who took our reservation didnt ask for our payment information so the room had been given away. They put us in a smaller room. Small hiccup, but forgivable.We saw the happy hour advertisement as we walked in, so we ordered a couple of pitchers and some drinks. As the beer arrived, the server told us beer was not included, even though the menu AND outside chalkboard said it was. We ordered other items on the happy hour menu and each time the server had to go ask if the items were included with happy hour. Upon exiting, several of our happy hour items were still charged at full price.We wanted to order a lot more than we did, but it was difficult to get a servers attention unless someone stood outside the room and asked for help as a server or host rushed to another room. Our original server went missing after our first 30 minutes. Understandable, it was happy hour and pretty busy. But we were starting to feel completely ignored.The karaoke remote stopped working halfway through our time. An employee (manager?) came in and after five minutes of struggling with it, he told us it was just slow and left without fixing it. It took several minutes of awkwardly pressing buttons to change the songs.After receiving the bill and seeing that we were overcharged, the cashier argued with us that we must not have ordered our drinks and food in time for happy hour. Mind you, we arrived at 5pm for our reservation and ordered most of these drinks promptly after we were given the room. After a manager was called over and we agonizingly explained the situation again, he finally charged us the appropriate price (no discount for the confusion).All in all, a pretty terrible experience. We were so excited to get together and do something fun, but this place was more trouble and stress than it was worth.

Good place to hang out and have drinks. They have huge projections screens for sports. The space is big with lots of room for big groups. Drinks are really good, they take time but truly do the mixology. They even have Japanese Whiskey. The food wasnt good. The fried chicken was all skin and dark meat. We tried more items on the menu. I cant recommend anything.

Tried bonchon from different locations and theyre all consistent. I only come to this place on weekdays since Im not a fan of this plazas parking. (Gets too crazy).Big clean place. Service is good.

I felt that the staff and servers were very helpful in accommodating our group. We had a great time. We were told multiple times how the rate of the room would be discounted if our room ordered enough food and drinks. We found out as we left and the rest of our party had departed that since we didn’t put things on the room tab or save the receipts from our friends that we didn’t qualify for the discount. This really soured my experience.

Good food. Great service (literally checked up on us every 15 minutes in the karaoke room)! So glad chorus expanded to this area. Would totally come back

Not gonna lie, this place is pretty awesome. There was an event here when I arrived, so it was crazy busy, but it toned down significantly by the time we finished karaoke.The servers were cool and I had a blast! Looking forward to coming again.

Terrible service, management terrible, the big room will not accommodate 20 people even though they will tell you that. Fees were not up front or disgust when the reservation was made so I was stuck with a bill for my birthday. Great potential but will not be going back.

Super fun. The DJ is better than most places in North Park or PB. If you enjoy karaoke even a little get a room and sing the night away with your amigos. The drinks are fairly priced and they have a wide variety. I will happily go there again.

The owner is so rude. He talks down to everyone and treats them like garbage. The service is extremely slow and it takes at least 20 minutes to have someone approach you to ask you for an order. The staff are just suffering in silence because the owner stalks the place via security cameras (Ive spoken with the employees) This place is awful. It feels dirty. Its terrible.

Service was really bad!!! Wasnt even that many people in there for it to be as bad as it was ......our food came out luke warm.....the cook was taking a while to get the food out, some of the staff didnt really know what to do....however their fried chicken is really good....nice size pieces....I had the 5 piece and they were reasonably priced....would I go back yes and no, yes to order the chicken to go...no bc I wouldnt want to sit and eat because of how the service was.....unfortunate bc it seemed like a cool place....however the korean restaurant that shares space with it seems pretty good.....Ill try that the next time

I celebrated my bday here with approx 25 people. The food was delicious! The place is cool. They are understaffed and disorganized. You can imagine having 3 waiters serving the whole restaurant. My guests were waiting for drinks and it was very hard to order. Pool 3 waiters running around nonstop. Very disorganized. If they had more staff and a better system for a full restaurant then they would be 5 star.

The Hive has changed a bit since I came a while back, and the additions help to make the venue feel more welcoming. The staff is friendly and quick to assist you. It gets busy during their happy hour/Taco Tuesday, so be patient and let them know if there is an issue and they are happy to make it right. Great drinks and the tacos are quite a deal!

My friend Bang took me here during my visit to San Diego. We went during week day and the parking wasnt too bad. The appetizers are great and good drinks too. It has a long table for big group. We were sitting at the bar and chatting. Not crowded at all.

We booked a large room for 15 to 20 people a few weeks in advance, only to get a room for 10-15. The room sizes were significantly different in size. When this was inquired about, we were given an apology and promised the next available space for when a larger party left (mind you we were at 15 and growing when this was offered). 2 hours later, a host came with security to evacuate our party - since that was the time we paid for. So there are a couple of things that went left:1. The room that we paid for we didnt get, nor did we receive any kind of compensation, just an apology and a 2 hour wait2. The host was rude, got our orders wrong multiple times - never corrected them, and then had the audacity to shoo us out with security3. At the bar, me and my partner waited 30mins to be serviced (it seemed like an entire side of the bar was being ignored), and there were about 6-7 employees tending bar. The only saving grace was a young lady that had just came in, took our food and drink orders and kept checking in on us. Thank you for that, granted we waited about 90 mins for our food AFTER WE ORDERED IT.This is one of the only karaoke bars in city, and the thought that my friends want to revisit for this reason alone - is quite disappointing.

Great food, bar and nightlife. The karaoke rooms are a ton of fun and the dance party at the end of the night is fun. Highly recommend the bimbimbap.

It not a bad place. But when you just want a coke and they give it to you in a skinny glass and charge you 2.50 each time it a bit much.

Really fun bar with tons to do. They have arcade games, karaoke, and a fantastic food and cocktail menu. You can spend an entire night here. The bathrooms are in a bit if a rough state, but everything was clean and functional. Bar service was a little slow, but it was a Tuesday night.

Filthy mens bathroom with fixtures falling apart. Slow table service (based on multiple visits here). Not sure why the kitchen and drink service is so slow. Ordering a beer at the bar was okay. Friendly bartender. Parking can be sketchy at popular times. Lot gets full.

The atmosphere of this place is great - interesting decor, lots of seating, some games to play, kind wait staff, decent food. HOWEVER the staff all seemed to be new and not experienced. There were moments that we had to wait a VERY long time to get drink refills, the drinks were not always properly made, our empty food plates were not cleared for over an hour, and all in all it did not seem like the staff knew what was going on. I hope the management takes some time to properly train their staff; this place has potential but I will likely not return.

I went with my cousins here a week ago, there was 9 of us in an exclusive and soundproof room. We ordered Soju Passion fruit, It’s really good! It keeps coming as you order (food/drinks). Food is oily though.. just drink lots and you’re good to go! We had soooo much fun!The place is clean, huge and NEW! I am organizing a happy hour with my colleagues next!

This was an interesting experience for my girlfriends and I. The cocktails were different, but the food and beer were tasty. I liked the complimentary treats and the decor.I especially liked the fact that as the only Latinas, the staff were really attentive and entertaining. Well definitely be going back.

Had a going away party after living in San Diego for 7.5 years on June 22nd, 2019 and David (co-owner) was extremely accommodating and even opened an hour early so we could have the place to ourselves. We got a Karaoke room which madefor a great daycare for the babysitters we hired to watch the kiddos.All of our guess were happy with the experience and the Venue. Its is classy, open and we had a lot of fun. Thanks Hive staff for making one of our last memories in San Diego drama free and special.

Food and service is great! Karaoke was so much fun! Only downside is that all the songs show up as a random Korean music video that doesnt really go with it and the keyboard is not in English.

The bar was pretty nice. The food was great with low prices and large portions. The bartenders are friendly. The best part are the private karaoke rooms that fit quite a few ppl. There are a large selection of songs and you pick your own songs. Lots of fun. The draw back, the parking spaces are tiny. It is very difficult to maneuver into a space and out of the space. Overall, a nice place to hang out. We will be back.

Hive was ok, the bartender was nice. Its huge and kind of confusing. We were hoping for karaoke but its sold by the room. There are games in front but theyre kind of jenky.

I had a ton of fun when I went only because of the people I was with. Most of the song books arent in English and the equipment is glitchy. The worst part: the bartenders. Service was slow, they frequently ignored customers so they could talk to eachother, spent a LOT of time on their cell phones and didnt know how to make even simple drinks. I will say I liked that they had a clearly marked smoking area outside and bathrooms were clean although most stalls didnt have toilet paper.

Excellent customer service, they really get hospitality. The food is great. Weve only had breakfast here. I did my regular go to- bacon eggs and a side of sausage and an americano. The Mrs did the bagel and lox with goat cheese. No complaints with the food or the wait time. This is just an all around good place to grab a quick bite and start the touristy thing. Enjoy!

Calamari were good, but service wasnt so great. They forgot to bring our check, and we had to flag someone down after 15 minutes of looking for staff. It was cold inside as well. No heating whatsoever, and doors open.

Went on a Friday evening and nobody was at the front desk to seat us. Waited 5 minutes until I decided to just track down a server and ask to be seated.Service continued to be sub par even though Hive was pretty empty in the dining area. Ordered some appetizers and drinks that took longer than expected. The fried calamari was good, but some pieces were burnt from the deep fryer.I dont see myself returning.

The bartenders are super knowledgeable. I wanted to try a whiskey drink and she was able to make my girlfriend and I some delicious whiskey drinks. This is a super fun place and I would strongly recommend visiting!

Super fun karaoke/bar. You can reserve a room for you and all your karaoke loving friends. Food us excellent, I recommend the garlic fries and any of their chicken wings. They have a good variety of songs to choose from.

Im being generous with this 4... really like Lee 3.5. If young like karaoke it is good to go for some songs... but missing lots of chinese, vietnamese selections.. did was good. Solid but not like gourmet, more like typical bar food.

Nice place but service sucked. It took us like a half hour to get the drinks we ordered. Our server barely came to our table that we had to ask another server for help. Food was good. I got the Bulgogi but it seemed over cooked.

A group of work friends and I booked a private room for karaoke. Though most of it was not in English, our server was great in explaining to us how everything worked and making sure we had everything we needed (including alcohol of course). After a while, we ended up trying out some great karaoke and having a super fun night full of belting/yelling our favorite songs and lots and lots of laughter. Definitely recommend for a casual girls night out!

Sundays brunch was amazing. Music Mr. Hek (dont quote me) one of the best since Ive been in SD. And John the bartender was great, especially when it got busy.

I was going there every Sunday afternoon when it was fairly empty to watch football, and eat their amazing fried chicken. BUT, the have now changed the menu and have a different supplier for their chicken. The quality is just like everybody else now, if not worse. They used to have hearty delicious chicken, that has now changed. I do not eat there anymore

This place was AWESOME! The space was enormous and well planned out with how big of a front room it had along with an elongated bar where they serve up some delicious craft cocktails (Old Fashioned #2, wuuuut!) all the way to the back rooms where all the karaoke happens :D We had a reservation for the largest room they had that seats 30 people for karaoke; they sat us right away, which was great, and they were super helpful whenever we had questions. The drinks kept coming which was great, and we were there til late at night singing our hearts out. I loved that I could be in there screaming in my monotonous voice and no one else outside of my friends in there could hear me (or at least I couldnt hear anyone else in the other rooms :P). But really, as I walked through the hallways of karaoke rooms, I couldnt hear any other room unless the door was opened, so good job on the sound proofing. And it was really nice to be able to take a break every now and then, go up to the bar/main room, and relax there for a minute before I returned! I will definitely be returning here, hopefully in the near future! :)
