Great place to have an enjoyable evening. Its a safe environment for you to satisfy the need for speed. Lots of fun for the young to the older age bracket.

Went here with a few friends and their kids the other day. Had a decent time. The staff were very patient with explaining the rules and getting us comfortable with driving the go-karts. The adult karts do go faster than the kid ones, obviously. The kids, we were told, top out around 30mph, but adults go to 45 I think? And even then, thats only if youre on a straightaway.You pay a $7 membership fee to get a card, then you can purchase how many races you want to do. 2 races were $40. They had multiple sizes for helmets, or you can bring your own. They call out your name when its your turn to race, and they assign you a car number. Theres a digital board that shows the racing stats during the race, then you also get a fun printout at the end that shows your rank and how fast you were going each lap and compared to the other racers in your group.My only complaints are that both races our group was put in the back karts, so we already started behind. Some of the other people we had to race against were super aggressive and would bully/bump constantly on the track. I know thats not the fault of the K1 crew, but nothing was ever done about it. I would for sure go back, but probably with a big enough group so that we could race on our own lol

Ive been coming to this track for a while now. Really fun and really low cost kart racing. All of the staff are really cool and super helpful, even with racing tips. The cheapest price competitive motorsport available to anyone in the area, hands down. Anytime you go there, you are given a tuned kart, ready to race, and ready to go with a clean track. The toughest part is making your way around all the lap traffic. As Im sure you are aware, San Diego has some REALLY BAD drivers. Sometimes you get a low performing kart, but it happens. Just race another one to makeup for it. They recently reconfigured the track, kudos to the person that came up with that idea. The new track layout is a lot more fun! The GP racing is super competitive if you are looking for a challenge. You can even win a gopro from racing.

The staff are great. The building is nice and clean and the racing is fun. The ONLY reason I am giving a 1 star review is because I booked a reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday on June 19th and paid the $130 non-refundable deposit needed to book it for the group and that the day of it would cost $65 per person. I thought the deposit would cover myself and my partner. That was not the case. At the counter I was told to pay for myself and my partner $65 each. That the deposit I paid was only for BOOKING THE RESERVATION for the group that day. Which we could’ve just done a walk-in and saved $130. So I ended up paying $260 for just me and my partner to race 3 times. It’s a fun place but be aware of this for reservations.

Great track. Food sales (they sell pizza, hot dogs, etc) are suspended due to covid, but they have chips and soft drinks. Staff are friendly and you can get great competition

Fun time racing with friends. The course is super bumpy around the corners; painfully so! I have bruise on my legs and back from the cart bounce at every corner. Being lighter weight is no advantage; the carts bounce even more. Back half around turns 10 and 11 are the worst. Still fun, but would be so much better if they resurfaced the track. One of my friends got a bad car too, #25 had no power and was +3 seconds.

Was told that waiting line is ~ 1 hour and 20 minutes. 1 hour and 20 minutes of waiting just to here that it’s another hour of waiting and lie from employee that she told us that is 2 hours and 20 minutes. Go and support some different businesses during this time that really taking care of customers.

Customer service was excellent the time in between waiting was sufficient. The kids had a blast were safe the whole time.

Amazing staff very helpful, electric cars great dont have to smell the burning gasoline, very fast and sharp curves.

I have used several indoor go-kart race tracks this one is the worst one.my daughter and I went in for the first time and we signed up and paid around $50.they told us to wait for the next turn and then they told us to go behind a group of people when we were loading in the carts. Right when we were racing we were trying to catch up to the other people and we were told to stop and not go any further around two to three times which was the amount of times we caught up to the other racers, once I beat the other racers and they had me stop until the others sped by...so basically, you get a time sheet at the end that includes the time spent waiting for the other drivers to pass. Whats the point of the race if were not allowed to actually race? I recommend that you ask to be in front when you start the race. I dont know if the employees will stop you then as well.

Employees were super friendly. They were nice enough to take some pictures/videos for us while we were racing.

It was full and we did not have a chance to experience k1 speed for my sons 10th birthday

Get your fix for your need for speed! Clean environment with electric karts, food and drinks while you wait. Wish they had laser tag like Miramar Speed Circuit used to have.

The cars are electric and fast, the turns are really tight but thats the best part. If I could change anything about this place, is that I wish it was much bigger!

Great place to take the whole family! There is also a restaurant here which is nice along with pool tables. So, when waiting for a race you have something to do! The price is a bit high, but the more races you buy the cheaper it gets.

Slow and poor services! and the staff are so lazy!

Really nice place. But extremely long wait times. On Saturday and Sunday evenings the wait time is up to 2hrs. There are a couple of arcade games and a small restaurant inside to while away time.

This is a really good place for groups or work events. The karts are extremely fast and being electric they have that quick acceleration. Just a fair warning though I would recommend coming with a group big enough to fill a race, usually it was like 10-12 of us a race, and bring people who know how to drive otherwise its going to be that bad driver holding everyone else up trying to pass or causing people to hit walls and crash. It is a really good time and worth visiting. I would also recommend trying to get a discount price on the races if possible as it is on the more expensive side.

We had a very bad experience at this place that could have been prevented if it had been properly managed.

Took our boys for a birthday. He had a great time racing and they made it great for his birthday. Carts are fast and it is remarkably quiet, which is nice for spectators.

Fantastic experience. The warehouse is clean and well organized. They have a fairly streamlined check-in process. There is a nice lounge area to kill time while waiting for your turn, or to hang out at afterwards. And they have a kitchen with plenty of food and non-alcoholic beverage options. The race track is pretty awesome, and you get a rush of adrenaline from taking those corners in the go carts. The employees were very attentive, which helped ensure we had a trouble-free and safe experience. My second time there, and already looking forward to the next one!

I had so much fun here they let my mom race too they are able to adjust the max speed on the karts so she couldn’t hurt herself and was out of the way! -a really really good time!

Wow what a fun place. They run it like a very well oiled machine. They were moving through races something firece. Some might say its a little on the pricy side but for 38 bucks you can get 2 races which kept my son and I there for probably close to an hour with registration and what not.We opted for the $55 dollar package that includes 2 races, the annual membership, and a tee shirt. The membership saves your race stats and I believe you get a free race in your birthday month. Seemed worth the extra 17 dollars because a t-shirt and membership separately is 21 and you know kids always want something when they go places so I said why not.They have a lounge area with pool tables and a small arcade in the back. Great parking lot and a fairly short walk from the Barrio Logan blue line stop. Not much else in the area, it is very industrial but there is Ryans Brothers coffee at the intersection and across from the coffee shop looked to be a brand new mariscos restaurant. The do serve food and drink at K1 but we didnt eat when we were there so I cant say for sure what they offer but I did notice the cafe.They have 2 types of carts a Jr. which top speed is 25 mph and the adult which is 45 mph. It was a fun time and something i will definitely bring my son to again.I asked my son to sum up his experience at K1 and he said too many penalty cards but amazing speeds and karts. Lets say I may need to have a talk with him about offensive driving haha but otherwise he was happy I was happy and it was time spent away from a screen. Definitely a great time had.

This is a great place to go and teach your friends that they dont know how to drive... Definitely not the cheapest of activities, and the cars are hardly consistent, but its still fun!

I’ve called 5 different times just to ask if my lost wallet is At this location because it’s the last purchase on my bank statement and the refuse to answer the phone to the point where I was hung up on.

I love go karts and anything mechanical in general. This place did not disappoint. Go karts are really fast as advertised, you need to wear a helmet when you race. The atmosphere was very friendly although it was a little quite on the weekday when we went. They had two pool tables and video games while you wait and they also offer food no beer or alchohol, for obvious reasons. Race track had nice lenth where you could really test the performance carts! Highly recommend.

Pretty great. Staff is great. Limited food and drink, its concession stand like. There isnt a healthy option. Make a reservation, if you dont the wait may be an hour or more but its worth the wait.

Over an hour wait for overpriced entertainment. We left. Three stars instead of one because Ive enjoyed the racing at a couple other locations.

The Karts go FAST, the after race analysis they print out for you feels legit and had our group going again and again trying to improve our times haha. A super fun way to spend an afternoon with friends looking for an adrenaline rush.

Place is alright. Clean and waiting area is really nice. But the track is too small for the amount of cars they cram onto the track so you are constantly slowing down for the car in front of you which results in you getting plowed into from behind from an incompidant driver. Ive been to several across the country and this is by far the worst. Nashville has a track double its size with half the cars. If they just limited the number of cars to 8 instead of 12 this would be a 5 star place. On the 2nd race there was only 6 and we had a very enjoyable time. I feel if they did 8 per race they would have more repeat busines.

Fast and fun go karts. I only deducted one star because I was here on travel and had to buy a year membership for me and my girlfriend. We will never be able to use it again because there are none around us at home. Cant you make a visitor friendly option?

This track is a lot of fun and is a really fast and enjoyable time. The go-karts can go up to 45 miles per hour, but are controlled by the referees that are on the track. They do an excellent job of making sure that all drivers are being safe. They are, also, able to dial down the speed of the go-karts when someone is being reckless. The go-karts are fully electric, so no gas powered engines are used on the track. If they have the go-karts set for max speed, the laps are usually getting completed in 24 seconds or less.

Great place to relieve stress with your work teams. We had a group of 9 and we had a great time racing eachother and talking about it afterwards. We will be going back for some rematches!

We had a good time ... There was no one there at 5pm on a Tuesday which was perfect for my sons birthday party ... The pizza and wings were good but dont bother with the fries or the nachos ... A little expense but you will enjoy yourself ... Oh yeah dont forget the massage chair ..it was awesome .. 5 dollars for 15 minutes you have to try it

Electric < gasAll the karts are electric, meaning that the operator can remotely throttle down all the karts and control how slow or fast you are going. Paid for 3 races and had to wait over 3 hours to complete them, of which I got throttled down twice. On 1 race I spent more time stopped on the track or slow speed than actually racing bc of kart issues/crashes.Extra laps/time on track to comp inconvenience/fun killer? Nah Did I have fun? Yes.Will I be back? No.Why? Prefer gas karts apparently.

Staff is professional and friendly. The entire facility is extremely clean and welcoming. They have a strict focus on safety and will remove anyone who rams another driver. They also do not mix small children in with the adult racers which makes for much more fun and safe race for everyone. The cars are fast and well maintained. Also zero exhaust as they’re fully electric.They also have massage chairs, pool tables, an arcade and a descent little restaurant.I recommend this place for both kids and adults! It’s the best in town BY far.

This place is a lot of fun for both kids and adults. The race cars are pretty fast and you get a very accurate printout of lap times and how you placed overall. Was a little expensive but worth it.

Best birthday party location for my twin teenage sons! My entire experience was amazing!! The staff were super friendly & answered all of my questions, & emails! When we arrived at the downtown San Diego K1 Speed we were blown away at the enormous size of the track! There was ample viewing from couches, chairs, & tables along the perimeter. We chose the two race birthday package, about 1.5hrs long, with a 15min break between races. The staff explained the rules, provided & helped with the racing gear, & gave trophies to the top 3 racers at a podium ceremony! All racers also got to take home a K1 Speed t-shirt, racing stats, & the sensation of having raced their friends at speeds up to 45mph! We decided only to bring cake & water & not pay extra for catering or a private room($90). That saved us, as the price of a party there is higher than what wed normally pay. This splurge was definitely worth it!

I celebrated my sons 11th birthday at K1 Speed. It was an absolutely an amazing experience. My son and nephews had a blast as well as the adults who participated in the event. The track is very short for the price they charge. The carts aren’t really any better than the standard gas ones and for a group they charge an extra $15 per person. I wouldn’t come back here.

K1 speed is an absolute blast for the short time you are there. The races go by real quick and theyre kind of pricey. However, it is totally worth it and provides a really authentic racing experience.

I really like this place but was bummed about the rules. I couldnt take my 6 yr old in a car and my 11 yes old had to race alone. I appreciate that they are all about safety but the fun is doing things with the kids.

Not to big on the snacks, but the events are well organized. Most employees are good at watching for the dirty and slower racers, but Ive had a few that really dont seem to care much.

Service and registration was easy and smooth and there are a couple of deals they offer for the races. The Karts go up to 45 mph and theyre easy enough for new drivers to get accustomed to but still good enough for experienced drivers to push and get the most out of the kart for competitive lap times.

Great go-kart experience for adults and kidsWeve been coming to K-1 Speed for years. My now 10-year-old loves it. Since Ive never been to another one, I cant make a fair comparison but here are the pros:- large parking area-friendly attendants-fun experience racing karts-arcade games while you wait fie your race-packages with discount (buy 3 races and get a discount)-after their recent remodeling the places looks MUCH better, they have a nice lounge area, pool tables and tvs.-tons of cell charging plugs located in areas where you can drink, eat, watch your kid race and be on your phone at the same timeThe only issue is the wait. On busy days (weekends) there will be so many people that your race waiting period will be almost an hour. Plan your first trip. Middle of the week, mornings, mid-afternoon times are best.
