Great jungle gym area for kids, but not so great park area overall. The baseball field is temporarily being used as a fenced in dog park during COVID days so thats great for our puppy to run in the grass, however the hours that it is unlocked are very inconsistent and there are big holes full of mud. The surrounding streets and park area tends to be full of trash because of the amount of homeless people who set up camp here. The homeless never cause any issues and keep to themselves but it doesnt seem like the city cleans up this area at all.

In this time of covid-19 its hard to find a place to just sit and enjoy lunch. North Park was great. Quiet and few people

Great Park. Wonderful Staff. Dynamic activities. Catering to all ages. Senior Center on site. Community SDPD on site offering community coalescing and support. Across the street is a multiplex activity center with soccer being the highlight.During this summer they were handing out free lunches to 18 and younger. Grass fields host baseball. 3 diamonds to choose from. A small toddler/child playground and to round it out outside tennis courts. Inside rec center offers variety of arts and crafts along with inside basketball.

Beautiful Park with the nastiest bathroom.Jail toilets and Jail Sinks what is the City doing? Why dont you hire people that know what its like to be homeless and have to use public parks as only restroom.

The domain is awesome and the some of the greatest experiences can happen.

I feel that it could be kept a little more cleaner because of the people who are homeless. Maybe a little bit more of a police presence and on foot patrols.

Im here almost every day attending the NA meeting in the park. There are homeless but there is also plenty of room to run your doggos or have a picnic. Plenty of shade, and restrooms make it a great park to go-to any time of the day.

This is a great place to relax, catch a afternoon nap. Great for doing any park activity within legal boundaries. There is a large sandbox base jung gym for the children, baseball field, tennis courts. There is even a sports center where you can find local information. At noon every day there is a popular AA/NA meeting that I hear is all the rage.

North Park Is A Beautiful Community There Are Alot Of Fun Things To Do And It Is Close To Bus Transportation And Access To Freeways To Take You To Other Cities Of San Diego Also If Looking For Apartment Or Homes And Also People Are Friendly And Its A Good Place To Raise Your Children Etc.

It is a nice park at night there are people hanging about who may not be the nicest characters ever. But it is big and the childrens area is amazing in the biggest Ive ever seen out of around 7 Parks here in San Diego

Only visited the Tennis courts, it was great! Total of three courts and some branches. Overall great, serves its purpose :)

Park seemed somewhat unclean with noises coming from the toilets... notwithstanding this, the dog walking area seemed popular. I didn’t feel comfortable stopping to sitting though.

We pulled off to soak up the sun briefly. The park is clean and we did some bird watching. The downside (not the parks fault) is that crowds of people were blasting SUPER IN APPROPRIATE music and swearing profusely (I say that and believe me, Im not a prude) which took away from the enjoyable experience.

Its a pretty decent park, but it needs to be cleaned up a bit. Great location, in the heart of North park...obviously; but not only does majority of North Parks homeless community seem to reside there, but it seems to be the more seedy characters.On the plus side they do have tennis courts, public restrooms (but beware, they are like the type of bathrooms that you find at the beach.) Also they are never refill the soap.

Bathrooms closed in the middle of the day; grass is dying; trash everywhere; parking spaces full of pot holes. I should have taken a picture of the trash. You wouldnt have believed it.

Not a park I would let my kids wonder around without tight supervision, but decent enough for toddlers

This place is not the same. The homeless have taken the place over. I used to play in this park as a kid and would love to take my kids here but it doesn’t look safe or clean out there. Sad. Feel bad for the local kids and for the homeless that have to live there.

I hang out here for lunch. Kids dont play here anymore but there is a 20+ Bible study on a few of the days

Why does this park not have a pet area?, Why are the gates to the make shift pet area locked, why are the encouraging snitches?

Great little park in the heart of North Park that a lot of people dont know about. Theres a great playground as well as tennis courts on one end of the park and a police sub station at the other end. It also includes the Ted Williams baseball field and racquetball courts. All under shadow of the iconic North Park water tower.

Just happy that the parks are opening back up.

Im sure it has potential to be a lovely little park. There was a family set up for a birthday party, plenty of incredibly nice people walking their dogs, and restrooms (although closed & from what I understand no doors on the stalls). Seemed like it could be family friendly however quite a bit of the park was a homeless camp area. I understand they need some place to be and I feel for them. I just would not choose to have my family party here or bring children here for them to run around and play bothering all of those people sleeping and resting. Just wasnt the family park for me.

Great spot to walk a dog. The playground looks nice. Its important to note that with SDs large homeless population, there can be some transient people. Ive never had an issue with them.

Wonderful wide open park with convenient picnic space. Peaceful even though I saw the cops stakeing out every corner lol. So ya still felt safe.

North Park is my town. Love the vibe. Atmosphere is chill and plenty of things to keep you busy! Very central to all locations. If you haven’t been, high recommend l!!!

The park is well kept very neat and clean however its a shame as many homeless are there

Very nice park with toilets and a childrens slides, other fun things to swing and hang from to keep everyone happy. There is parking during the day but later in the evening when the neighbors get home from work, the parking area gets tight for an open spot to park.

I love to run laps here and there is lots of space for activities, but there is a large population of homeless camped here, so keep that in mind if bringing young children. All in all, very to have the green in the heart of Northpark.

Very well kept and whatever type of day u r having u can go there and enjoy just for a BBQ or walking pets family picnic or some good fun sports playing great park to enjoy all ur needs as well as on site restrooms

There’s lots to do here and it’s a pretty big place. You often see a lot of people here. It’s a great place if you want to have some batting practice or some baseball games. The only thing you have to be careful is the sketchy people that hang around here.

Not very clean, some sketchy people hanging out in the park, no fence around the playground for the children, close to the street traffic. Definitely wouldnt visit after dark. Met a few friendly people during our visit.

Nice park to take a break

Nice park very clean, nice play ground for kids. They do have Narcotics Annoymous meetings, parking is plentiful. They also have a gym for children to play basketball and a recreation attendant. I must warn you there is a homeless population that hangs out at the park, but they dont bother you. There is some sort of construction going on across the street from the park. Well, check it out.

It was nice I took some food from there and I will replace it the waffles were spoiled so I threw them away and Chinese food. Sorry Ill bring something by when I transfer my money. But its a very nice place, stay away from the bathroom until they fix the plumbing. Good overall place to be.

Okay Park heavy homeless population, Narcotics Annonymous meeting there daily, up side nice jungle gym play area for kids very clean, fantastic recreation center with gym, theres local musicians who practice in the gym area clean bathroom good parking.

Took my children to the park for a play. The Beauty and the Beast. The cast was selected from local students who auditioned for the parts. T3 Triple Threat was the production company. Not expensive at all. The boys loved it and so did I. A good old fashioned wholesome night out with my family. Thank you North Park Recreation.

The only reason this park is it five stars is because there is a large homeless community nefarious activities that involve drugs, The occasional stolen bike you know city problems playground super cool I would walk around it and look for a possible glass needles do you know that type of stuff that you should look for at any park if you’re responsible parent do not let your kids go to the bathroom without you or barefoot there’s probably 15 times of nasty waiting for you but plenty of parking it’s got shade picnic tables got grass it is a good time be sure to count the frogs

Im sorry I dont like this park at all theres a lot of homeless encampments all around the park the park looks unkept and its surprisingly enough Im surprised that no one is able to check on this park on a routine scenes how there is a police substation on the park premises. I would definitely visit it to walk around but not to sit around I would feel unsafe plus I dont appreciate the unwelcome homeless people stopping me and asking me for money

This is a fun little park. Lots of grass and shady trees. My kids enjoyed the playground area. We even saw an outdoor spin class that meets at the park every Tuesday at 6pm. We would definitely come back again if given the opportunity (we live in northern California and are here visiting relatives).

Its nice, very huge park with lots of shade and benches. Great for taking your dog out for a walk or a picnic under a tree!

Very nice park with a super fun disc golf course! Grass, trees and rolling hills make it a nice change from AZ disc golf.

Friends fun

Filled with homeless people especially at night and early in the morning and the grass isnt kept up very much so theres lots of brown spots. Its nice to run around as theres a path for you to do laps around the park. Not exactly a place you could casually go play a pickup game of football, frisbee, etc. It has little bumps and hills but not enough for feeling like youre running up a hill for a quality workout. There is a small little playground for kids that seems nice. Events are also in this place pretty often.

Great park to sit under a shade tree and relax. Also good for walking and recreation sports

Its a nice park but what makes it un nice is its a kids and family area and its a lot of homeless ppl, dope heads in the bathrooms and in the grass area. Not right for the kids to be around it. Its more convenient for me, thats why I go. I just keep watch on my kids even more. They really need to start having more security in the bathrooms lurking and making sure everything is safe.
