Look...This is a place you should visit. It is a SLICE of Old School Mexico.Yes it has bit of a tourist vibe that is the point of the location, however there are PLENTY of legitimate old Mexican and just regular Mexican Eatery I have tried five different locations,I still have an additional 25 or so to try, there is a square with a park for kids to release some of their energy there are clean restroom that are clean quite often. There is a old school depiction ( actual structure ) within the square of a Old School CA-SEE-DA ( This app would not let me spell it ) was back in the day.I promise and guarantee you, you will enjoy this location with the homemade ice cream coffee to be brewed, the stage where they do the Mexican dancing that is very very near one of my favorite eateries it is a beautiful place.I promise and guarantee you you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful, old Spanish California tourist trap. In the middle of the square is a large grassy area for the kiddos and doggos to run their wiggles off. Family-friendly. Live music during the weekend afternoons, and fun shops to browse. The kids will beg for a toy from Geppettos and you can cool your jets with a frosty margarita at several different restaurants. The locals get their Mexican food fix at Guadalajara Restaurant in Bazaar del Mundo. The food there is authentic and well worth the wait!

Went to the spice and tea shop at old town park. Oh the goodness that is in side. Every spice you can imagine plague the walls in jars from room to room.. Cant wait to explore my love of cooking. My daughter comes to make her own teas by buying it whole. She has some here that she cannot find anywhere else. Flew in from Oregon yesterday and flying back on Sunday but always stops here.I live in San Diego so I will be back for all kids of goodies

A must-see historical locationI just love the old town, it is historic, well preserved diverse, you can find some nice free museums, some of them have actors dressed as their role and they show you how this person used to do their job, you can also find a good market, some shops…etc.

My family and friends love Old Town San Diego State Park, because it is a self-contained oasis of fine Mexican food, fun Mexican themed shops, and fantastic historical landmarks. We enjoy staying at the Best Western Hacienda so we can just walk from our room and in 2 minutes we are enjoying this amazing gem. Old Town San Diego has great spots for taking pics, eating fresh tortillas, and strolling in the park with live music.

The place is Okay. It was raining today though. Most of museums are closed. However we visited one with trains. I was amused! Such a detailed city with little people, cars, moving trains. It looks so real! There are plenty of little cafes and restaurants. You will also find here any souvenir you can imagine) Parking lot is big enough and free.

Beautiful little spot where you can find history, art and gorgeous little vignettes to photograph around every corner. When its all lit up at night, it really feels magical. It is very touristy.Pro Tip: If you are up to the challenge of being a responsible consumer, look for locally made art and art made in Mexico, rather than the majority of stuffs that are cute/kitschy/pretty, but all imported from China or someplace else. Locals first.

Great place to spend the day enjoying a touch of of that old western town feeling. Lots of good things to eat, and lots of nice trinkets and gifts to pick up for what is not too unreasonable prices. Some areas do get much more crowded than others, and there are plenty of people who dont seem to care about wearing a mask, so be aware that it is not the ideal place to visit during covid. Additionally, many of the museums and shops were closed due to covid, so be ready to spend most of your time outside. Line for lunch was extremely long (over an hour wait in many of the nearby restaurants), so come early or be prepared to wait. Lastly, although there are various parking lots in the area, parking can be difficult to find, so prepare to camp out for people leaving, or to circle around the blocks multiple times before you find a spot.

At first, we were on the side that had stores with the same gift shop items, so basically...like Tijuana, but a tourist trap, which should be avoided. However, there were many places to eat such as Coyote cafe with giant tacos and burritos and where you can buy fresh tortillas. It wasnt until we went to the otherside where the Fiesta de Reyes park shops were that has the more unique items and has more of the old town charm, highly recommended!

Place is very nice and it makes you feel as if you are back in the western days. The shops are all kind of boring most sell the same things just useless knick knacks they have a restaurant as well. Its a nice place to walk around, it even has a nice little grass area where you can have a picnic or just hangout. I recommend this place. There is free parking but if its filled then you will have to pay in one of the surrounding parking places.

With over 17,000 reviews on Google, the LV Plug team had to stop by the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park to see what the hype is about. This historic park is located in the Old Town neighborhood of beautiful San Diego, California. This park commemorates the early days of the city of San Diego. This park includes many historic buildings from the period of 1820 to 1870. This park and my grandmother have a lot in common theyre both old AF. Hopefully this park will live long enough for me to bring my grand children to visit and explore when Im as old as my grandmother.

This one will give you a different opposite experience. There are green lawns but the rest are shops, museums and restaurants which are representative of authentic Mexican food and cultures. There is also olive oil tasting and fresh olive oils for $22-$.26. One store sells Mexican candy. The park is across from the Old Town train station.
