Very clean, staff is extremely nice and helpful. Im only giving 3 stars because there wasnt that much to do. Ive been to many childrens museums around the country. Sometimes you can spend the entire day at a museum. This is not one of those museums. The things that are available are very fun and well taken care of. Our children enjoyed each activity. We enjoyed our visit as part of a San Diego pass so we were fine stopping in and moving on. I would not have wanted to pay full price for the amount of time we stayed. It was a nice stop for a rainy part of the day.

A fun place for kids to spend time, they have lots of fun activities for kids of all ages. Older kids will definitely have a wonderful time here more than the younger ones. Babies have a separate section that is shoe free for them to crawl. For toddlers, there is wooden cars to run around on a permanently fixed track, painting, dress up area, jenga tables. Older kids get to climb up the structures on the third floor. When on the third floor, parents with younger kids do be careful as stairwell access is open to the lounge and there is a high chance for kids to wander off if we don’t keep a very close eye on them.Over all this place is - Stroller friendly. Outside food permitted. In house cafeteria has kids friendly meal and drinks but priced on the higher side. Small gift shop. Family restrooms with diaper change tables. Busy through out the week and you end up spending a lot of time at the ticket counter.

Wonderful place to take the kids. Our children played for hours and enjoy many different places to play with amazing art in every area. A wonderful place to take the kids to run around and craft different learning projects. The various art exhibits were a great display of all the creative possibilities. Would love to take the kids again.

This is the coolest place ever such an amazing place to take kids!! They can play and do things art projects use their imagination all without any direction. They can roam around and just be kids, exploring doing all the things that kids do all by themselves!! This place is amazing and shows exactly what kids can do all on their own!! I did not like the cafes food was horrible though! Everything else about this museum is absolutely amazing I would recommend anyone to come here any day!! So much to do, so much to explore!!

Absolutely fantastic kids museum! They have set up a really great environment for exploration and imagination. There are several rooms over the floors full of creative things to do. The emphasis is on imagination and creativity rather than science and history, and my kids had a blast. The exhibits are unique and cool. They stress hands on activity, and there are some guided activities in the maker lab. There is pay parking nearby, and military members can get in free through the Blue Star Museum program. This was a great way to spend the hours on a weekend.

We have had our membership for the past 2 years and we absolutely love it. We usually only go throughout the week since it gets PACKED during the weekends. Our children enjoy all of the sensory activities and especially the giant bed room. This place is fun for children and adults. The staff is extremely friendly and I have seen them go straight special forces when a child gets separated from their parents. Hand of applause to them. I definitely recommend this place and appreciate the 50 percent off parking with the use of their phone number.

The people I see getting the most use out of this place are those who have children 3+ years. Wonderful area, lots of learning, great to let them get some energy out especially if it happens to be moody outside. We visited with our 1.5 year old, she was amongst the youngest and the little play area had a sign for 3 years and younger. She kids were of course excited and rambunctious, but she got almost run over a couple of times. So.. Best for older toddlers and primary school kids

Price point is comparable to all the other children centers $14/person aged 1+. While we visited though, they did run a special for free child admission so for our family of 4, we paid $28. Parking was another $12 because the center lot was full so we were directed to the ABM open lot about a 2-3 minute walk away. Cafe on site is also price comparable, but it is totally acceptable to bring your own lunch and snacks to save some money. The museum itself had large open spaces with lots of mixed age activities; parents are supposed to be responsible for accompanying their children but not always the case. The top attraction for my 2 year old was no rules matress jump-room but parents were just as excited jumping around and building massive tire pillow forts meaning many child-collisions and run-ins. If you dont do well with that, wait until around 245pm as the center became mostly vacant to let your child roam free. There are also lots of other areas to explore including quiet reading spaces on the main and top floors which, if you have a toddler anything like mines, those sections went largely unexplored. Climbing areas more suitable for 4-5+ can we managed with younger children accompanied a parent. Would have given 5-stars if more staff were present to enforce the parents must accompany children rule.

My kids (6, 4, and 1) LOVE this place because there is something for every age for them to do. They also change their exhibits often enough that it feels new every time we go. I Love that the San Diego County Libraries offer passes for families of 4 to get it in for Free. They have indoor and outdoor activities and bring your kids in clothing that you dont mind them getting messy in, because there is a place where you can paint a life sized car and kids just love covering themselves in that paint. The Museum does provide smocks for the kids and hand washing stations as well and the paint is water based. Take your little ones, you wont regret it!!!

Horrible customer service. They don’t allow you to wait for parking underground even if there is someone pulling out. They expect you to drive around in circles until there’s any actual parking space open. They also revert to “it’s policy” but no common sense. My family and I went up the car ramp that led to the underground parking. As we approached the top, they told us that we couldn’t use the car ramp because it was too dangerous. So they made us go back down the “dangerous” car ramp to use the elevator. Again, no common sense.Upon reaching the parking attendant, they said we needed to get a stamp on the receipt because they did not have any parking slips. Upon reaching the front desk, they gave us a hard time because they told us we needed a parking slip: it’s policy. After awhile, they instead stamped my receipt with “paid” to verify parking. The actual museum was okay. My opinion, it was too crowded and tools did not work such as the scanner. Also lack of supervision for rambunctious kids.Upon going to the underground parking, they asked for our parking slip and instead we showed them our receipt. They took my receipt and tore it up. I told them I needed my receipt and the attendant gave me a hard time stating that “it’s our policy to keep receipts”. I told her “no”. When a customer pays for something, they get a receipt that they keep. She then asks why I needed my receipt anyways. I told her that’s none of her business. And she again reverted back to it’s our policy to ensure no one reuses their parking slips. I told her that receipts are time stamped for a reason. Again no common sense. Finally I was able to keep my torn up receipt. Just a bunch of recent high school grads that work here with a chip on their shoulders.

Wow. Super fun. We almost skipped it when we visited San Diego because I thought it was just going to be another play place. I was wrong!! This is hands down the best childrens museum I have ever been to. So many innovative exhibits and hands on activities for the kids. We visited on Xmas week Friday at 930 am and had to stand in line to get in. The place was crowded but it was huge inside. Kids really enjoyed painting the truck outside, and jumping around in the mattress/tires room. The onsite cafe has really good hot sandwiches! The kids meals just looked ok and we skipped them. The digital area downstairs is pretty cool too. Kids can color jelly fish, sea horse, fish, etc, scan it in, and then it appears on this giant interactive screen. 5 stars! my 4 and 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed it. We spent about 4 hours here including lunch but couldve easily spent more time. We were at the mercy of our parking meter. The museum has a small parking garage for $10/day. It wasnt too hard to find metered parking a few blocks away. The one we had was $2.50 for 2 hours, and it had a 2 hour limit so we had to move the car after 2 hours. If you live close by, I would recommend getting an annual pass. If youre visiting, google ACM (association of childrens museum). Buy a membership to a center near where you live and you can receive reciprocal discount at The new Childrens Museum. (50% off admission) Theres a tiny playground across the street with 2 swings and 4 spinning toys to play with. Our kids spent about 30 min there.

Best kids museum ever! I spent 3 hours here with my one year old and we could have easily spent longer.Upstairs is a baby and toddler area with an age limit of 4 years. You can bring your stroller with you everywhere or park it by the entrance or outside each area as you like. Everyone was asked to take their shoes off for the baby and toddler area so the floor is nice and clean. We took part in a stamping workshop which my baby loved. Afterwards we washed his hands by the sink which has a staircase he could stand on. I think he loved that even more than the stamping! He then played by the buzzy board and in the soft play area. He doesn’t walk yet but had a great time. Unlike other reviewers I would say babies can have fun here as soon as they can sit and play! There is a bucket for “mouthed toys” to limit the spread of germs which I think is a great idea. The soft play area has a giant water tap/faucet and is introducing the idea of conserving water.Outside the lift was a table with bricks where both kids and adults were building towers. There is also a Rainy Day house which has books and has water dripping on the roof. It is meant to inspire creativity for a rainy day and we saw many parents reading books in there and kids having a great time.On the main floor was a clay workshop, a superhero drawing (tracing) workshop and more. Everything is included in the entrance fee which is $14 for adult and $12 for kids from 1 year up. They also have memberships which we would have got if we lived in San Diego. They start at about $89 for an adult and a kid per year. I saw they do classes for babies from 18 months and they looked like a lot of fun!We had a delicious healthy lunch at the Beansprouts cafe in the museum. My baby particularly enjoyed the sweet potato “veggie tots”. The cafe has both adult and kids height table and chairs. There is a nursing nook for nursing, pumping and bottle feeding and people are also welcome to nurse, pump and bottle feed anywhere in the museum. There are plenty of family restrooms which easily fit a stroller and have tables for changing nappies. There are also water fountains on each floor where you can drink or fill up your bottles. You can rent a locker for $1 next to the cafe.Downstairs is a sketch aquarium where kids can draw a sea creature and put it under a scanner. It then appears in a giant aquarium which is projected on the wall and they can interact with the creature to make it move. They loved it! There are comfy sofas for the adults to sit and watch the aquarium while the kids run around.I saw they were hosting a birthday party downstairs where all the kids were dressed up as superheroes. It looked like a lot of fun! This museum is so well designed and thought out for kids and families! I wish we had something like this in London!

Perfect place to release some energy for kids. 3 floors of entertainment for different age groups. Entry fee is $14/per person. Even adults had to pay which seem unfair since we dont get to enjoy any of the facilities. But oh well, kiddos had a blast. Pretty clean. Family restrooms available. Some play areas required to be barefoot.

Its hard finding parking outside the museum. You can use the museums parking garage but its somewhat pricey. Theres alot of interactive activities for the kids. Very clean and theres a food court too. Will definitely visit again.

We have been to many childrens museums all over the country. This one has definitely become my new favorite!! My 5 and 3 year old were entertained easily for 4 hours, and could have kept going after that! We will be back next time we are in SD :)

What a neat place! Lots of toys and happy kids. Nice food options and nice selection of areas for kids to play. Place is clean and staff is friendly and interact with the children well.

This place is great! You have to go. If you think youre too old, you probably are so look for events hosted here after hours. Theyre usually adult only. Staff is so nice, down to the security.

I was honestly shocked to see very few things to do. we went floor to floor trying to find something to do. The design wasnt right and the artwork did not fit in place. Again, there was very little to do. Honestly, not what I was expecting and I do not recommend it.
