A paradise within the San Diego, CA area... I little hike and beauty... I would suggest going during the spring, late summer and fall time periods... Spring is great due to the flowering of the trees, roses and more... This is my 4th visit and first in many years... A nature walk to help relax and simply enjoy the scenery... Think mindfulness...
Interesting for a quick stop. Cool idea. Dont expect to be there long though. Combined with a trip to pioneer park and heritage Row park which was a decent outing. Bring a free book for the book box.
Pictures do this place no justice! As I drove up Vine Street to see it I nearly lost my breath. Just stunning (and bigger than any picture would have you think)! If you go, take your time to really look at each and every topiary or come back a second time. Some of them didnt stand out to me until I visited again. Props to the patriotic topiary following public health guidelines. Youll see what I mean! :)
Nice place to walk around with the kids. Pretty gardens and peaceful. Nice gift shop. Plenty of parking.
Beautiful gardens, we had a lovely small picnic at the tea garden in the picnic table over the water so beautiful! Great place to take the kids!
Neat little garden to see and while youre adventuring in San Diego
There are already so many positive reviews, but I just wanted to add one more to make it more statistically significant ;-)
Kinda cool. There are a surprising number of topiaries
I dont get the chance to drive by here that often, and when I do Im usually working. So its always a delight to see a quirky garden, as I pass by. It makes me smile at a time when I need to smile. To the owner I say keep up the great work!
Beautiful drive by/walk by garden...loved it!!
I would agree with other folks on here saying if you are in the area or going to be passing through, definitely worth the side trip here. The pictures dont really do this place justice since a lot of the creativity here is drowned out by the closeness of it all. Kind of just starts to blend in and you cant see the details, especially since you cant get closer up. Its still amazing and fun, just know that the location does have constraints.
Great drive by attraction.
Very creative topiary.
This little Gem is worth the drive. Check it out!
I guess its ok... its a house... sooo.
Pretty cool that the property owners took advantage of their steeply sloped front yard in this creative manner. Pretty close to downtown in a residential neighborhood, just park on the curb and admire their handiwork. No crowds, its free, and its unique.
So adorable. Visited at night and I was amazed. I would love to visit again during the day to see all the detail. Must see!
What an amazing little gem! Edna does a fantastic job!
Love it!! it is always worth the walk to see this beautiful place
Very nice there. I saw the horses that were here for the Del Mar races playing in the bay. They loved it!
Lots of topiaries here. Kind of crowded together on the hillside below the house.
It was creative and beautiful, a great deal of work and time went in to this garden.Nice garden. I thought I would stop by on my way to the Shakespeare Pub on India take some pics .
Fun place for a quick stop. Kudos to the owner and landscaper!!
Its cool
Our kids loved it. Nicely done.
Interesting topiaries especially for someones front yard, however they do not look as well manicured as I thought they would. Still worth a look.
I stayed in a air bnb walking distance and at night this place is super cool GREAT NEIGHBORS AROUND THIS LOVELY AREA
Its a small but very creative garden. People will probably spend like 10 minutes here. Great stop on your way to San Diego airport or when picking up guest. Very unique.
The topiary garden is unique. It is fun finding the many characters.
Serene location in quiet neighborhood, built on Hill for excellent viewing of scuptural detail in foliage.
A unique little spot to show visitors on your way to dropping them off at the airport.
Great spot to see the really detailed work off a homeowner who truly appreciates doing something unique.
Beautiful Hidden Gem....
This is considered one of the hidden gems of San Diego. I often stay with friends in the neighbor, so Ive driven past it many times--but I finally took the time to walk over and see it up close. Its cute and charming. The local garden club who tends it does a good job.I imagine this attraction would be best for children. Frankly, I enjoyed the walk through the neighborhood more than the actual topiaries. The Mission hills neighborhoods are filled with a variety of fascinating architecture and beautiful landscaping--worth a walk in and of themselves!
Quirky bit of local eye candy.
Park, snap a few pics...and be on your way.Or model and take numerous pics in front of these beautifully maintained bushes.Bring a date and impress them with your knowledge of hidden gems in the S Deezie!Just dont stand in the middle of the street for too long. And hog up the area (Asian girls, ahem :p) and take thousands of pics when others are waiting.
Beautiful topiary but this is the place you can walk through. It is just a relatively small garden on the side of a hill. You stand on the street and look at it. Its worth going 5-10 minutes out of your way.
An unexpected surprise in a normal neighborhood.
I seen people come and take pictures its way
Local garden. But cool to stop by and see.
Its interesting to visit, but it needs to be realized that its built into the steep side of a property and there its nothing to walk through. You stand on the street and look at it, the above section is a private residence where this a no trespassing sign.
This place is beautiful, I was glad to be able to see and appreciate it. Thank you to the owner for making such a beautiful garden for all to enjoy.
Really a good place to see. But we can not park and stand out.
Thank you home owner, you have really done a great thing for the area
Little hidden gem of San Diego! Best to visit by car as the walk up is pretty steep!
If you are in the neighborhood, take a look.
This is just one of the many fun and unique things to go searching for in SD. I loved it. So fun!
Pulled the car up in front of the garden, the three of us got out...we took turns identifying the figures and making up stories ...let your imagination go.....what fun. Whales, Rabbits, sheep, sombreros, ...,what will you find?
The most beautiful and creative garden Ive ever seen!
See my review for the suspension bridge.
Great place to stop by, park your car at the curb and enjoy your coffee with a view. And hunt some Pokémon:)
Interesting for sure, not exactly what I was expecting.
What a sight to stumble upon!
Very Nice place to visit
Cool!
Good food
A bit underwhelming.
It was a very itersting experience, but it really is just a thing you drive buy
