Interesting cocktails and super amazing food. We went on thanksgiving when the entire place wasn’t open - but it wasn’t super crowded so was nice to sit and drink. The bartender (whose name I forget) was super amazing at giving us pointers and recommendations - thanks for that.Would be interesting to check it out when it’s packed and all the floors have something going on.
Cant say Ive had too much African food, but no matter Im always up for new things. The atmosphere is neat wall paintings and grass mats on the ceilings. The place was jamming with large groups and food was flying out of the kitchen all night.
Bar was pretty busy but the waitress we had was amazing and very funny. Had alot of good banter with her and will definitely be returning for some more drinks
Great games accompanying friendly patrons. All this mixed with kind bartenders makes for a memorable evening of fun and drinks. Their basement where it could be mandatory to dance really creates the right vibe. I recommend the Tipsy Cow to my friends going to San Diego.
Alot different since Covid-19 policies.10pm last call, and no real party area. Good food, and music so still a different type of vibe but great for a date night. Not so much for partying.
OMG so fun we had such great service and Cali dont know if the right spelling was just the best and the meat balls and blooming bread is definitely a must have
Security guard Trent went above and beyond! He showed us around as we were not staying long and were not able to come on a weekend when the other levels were open. Drinks were good, but need to work on consistency among all staff as I had a drink from the menu made 2 different ways and they did not taste the same. Would’ve loved to see this place before this pandemic.
It’s so chill here and the food is amazing! Perfect place to come after a hard work week.
Love the atmosphere, love the service and folks inside, love the food, and love the sangria (though, it could be stronger...I make my sangrias strong)
TNT dynamite! The bartenderettes at this place are awesome! Cool vibe and extremely friendly service!
Not a bad place to go its a cool spot too Hang out in fore me...
My experience was great definitely will come back
Great bar that has it all. 3 levels depending on your vibe. First level is a traditional bar vibe, second level is a little bit more of a classier vibe, and the basement level is where you get down and dance; club vibe. Also the food is surprising REALLY good. Its not bar food at all, everything Ive tried has exceeded expectations; Gourmet stuff, no lie
I didnt bring enough for drinks and a tip but Justin (I believe was his name) still have me amazing service! Ill be going back if for no other reason than to drop off some cash for him. Their mac is pretty delicious too
First time during the Covid 19 with alone, and loved the bar games so much!
A bit small but nonetheless still a great place. Great to enjoy a nice time with a special friend. The drinks are reasonable priced. Definitely recommend to check out this place.
Laid back kinda place cool place to hang out
Amazing Grilled Cheese boards, lobster rolls, and craft drinks with a level for every mood. The Lounge is my personal favorite. Like an Old Study fit for a king but with fun people!
A lobster roll for $5. Before 5. On Tuesdays. Great beer. Wonderful Bartender. Double whammy if you walked past the 4 steak houses previous block looking for $45 to$65. For a steak.
Best bar in the gas lamp. Staff is amazing! Always on top of things. My only suggestion to them is the music in the basement is not great. The DJ will get the crowd going with one or two songs and then just play some bad music the kills the dance floor. It might be a crowd control method because the the dance floor turns over quickly.
Gorgeous place... tri-level... bartenders are great and the atmosphere is nice!!
Awesome bar to watch the pats games! Lots of TVs upstairs that make it easy to see. Definitely get there early if you want a table and a chance at the free clam chowder during the game. Our waitress was super attentive too for a busy bar. Will be going back for more games!
The tipsy crow is just amazing. Ive been there for three days in a row now. They have live music every other night and some games to play, Jenga and connect four. Prices are fair, their signature cocktail The salty dog is alright, I personally didnt like it. Their coconut mojito is really good tho! Their meals are fantastic!
Cool bar during the day... night crowd didnt look as good
A buddy and I had a few drinks here. Its a pretty cool spot. The drinks werent way over priced and the lounge area upstairs was a really nice place to relax
This place is a definite must to go to if you want a while range of atmospheres at one place. Theres the main bar where you can order food or just chill at the bar and have a fun time getting blasted playing the drinking game. Then head downstairs for a basement club that plays top 100/edm to have a great time. When your all wore out go upstairs to the relaxed lounge area and play some pool while you cool off and get your second wind. This is all available every Thursday!
The food here was crazy. The lobster spread appetizer was the best thing ever. Insideis so interesting with all the random things on the walls. They have movie stills and framed newspapers. It was great bartender was super personable, great service.
Easy going spot with daily, weekly, and seasonal specials. Their outdoor signage is even changed monthly for various holidays! Especially a fan of the beer “stock exchange” screen!
Good place but on the pricey side. Good distancing too
Love this place! Met a beautiful lady named Emily there. She was wonderful! All 3 floors were poppin! Definitely a place to go!
Trent was an amazing host and the tall male bartender made exceptional cocktails
Awesome bar. There was love music when we were there on a Saturday. Great staff
Excellent food. Great service. Best bar in the Gaslamp. I’m from Detroit and stop here once or twice each trip to SD.
I always love going to the Tipsy Crow! It may be in the touristy part of town but its always a good time. Love their 3 different levels with different vibes. The drink pricing is unique and everyone is so nice: bartenders, bouncers, and partiers!
This place gets LIT! Dancefloor opens at 10. I would suggest trying the Crow-fashioned with a side of blooming bread
Great bar. Beautiful staff. Great music I definitely will be back next time I am in town. 5 stars
Fun decor, no cover. Bar and games on the first floor. Bar and meeting spots upstairs. Bar and dance floor in the speakeasy.
Place was cool! Bartender super nice and server. The underground part was nice! We met up there for a club crawl. Super cool spot.
The decor and building are both really cool. Night club in the basement and lounge seating upstairs. Lobster mac and cheese was delicious. Decent cocktails and a large beer selection. Bartenders were friendly, but service was hit or miss. Prices are typical for the area.
Basement is a dance club; ground floor is a bar; top floor is a lounge with a pool table. It is quite lovely
Staff was amazing. Drinks were great.
This bar has 3 levels with 3 completely different experiences. The first floor is a standard bar with live music and some table games. The basement is a dancefloor and the third floor is a Victorian-esque bar complete with velvet curtains.
Love this place. Food and drinks are great. Cool bartenders. I like the layout too. Kind of like three spots in one. Main floor you walk into has a pub feel. Downstairs/basement has a club feel with loud music. Last but not least the upstairs level has more of a loungy feel, is quieter, and has some pretty cool architecture.
This place beats all other bars in town with their great beer selection. We recommend tasting several beers from the list. We found a new favorites!!!
Good food, great staff!
Comfortable pub with flat screens at the bar. Nice draft selection. Decent food.
Best NE Patriots bar in SD. Could have been a one-star review, but the Pats won and clinched the AFC East, so 5-stars. Just kidding, the Tipsy Crow is always 5-star just for being there for us fans, serving Sam Adams, Lobstah rolls, and chowdah, and playing Dropkick Murphys music. Wicked good place for Pats games.
Aesthetically pleasing interior.
Good drink selection. Good music. Good service. Cover charge wasnt bad and seems only applicable on Friday and Saturday. Your mileage may very depending on DJ or live musician they bring in.
Love this place. Always come here when I need a break from Comiccon. Fantastic staff very engaging, great selection of beers and liquor. Dont miss out, ho on in and enjoy yourself
Decent bar with amusing pricing screens (all time highs, lows). They turn on the lights at 1:40am (official close at 2am) and nudge you out the doors. Looks like a popular night spot for conference attendees.
Great atmosphere and 3 awesome levels of fun. All 3 floors have their own bar; top floor being the lounge area with a pool table, ground floor being a simple type of bar with some games and with stairs leading to the basement/dance floor. My girlfriend and I along with some friends were there this past weekend and man is the bottom floor poppin! The DJ who I assume is there every weekend, plays a great variety of music, mostly early 2000s pop and rap along with some old throwbacks. If you enjoy a great atmosphere and variety of dance music but also enjoy just hanging out while the rest of your party dances, this is a definitely must see! Also, I could be wrong but I assume there is a cover fee after 9pm? But itll only cost you about 5 bucks. Definitely give this place a shot though, as it is just down the street from the Horton plaza parking garage on F street. Tell em Uriel sent you! (You dont get a discount or anything, just get my name out there.)
Great bar food, good beer selection and reasonably priced. French Dip Sliders are delicious! Top sirloin, mozzarella and aus ju. Tipsy Truffle Mac, truffle cheese sauce over cavatappi noodles in a warm sourdough bread bowl topped with applewood smoked bacon! Mmm that was good. Also tried Not Yo Mamas Meatballs, 3 huge meatballs mixed with beef, pork and sausage covered in secret seasonings served over homemade marinara and toasted baguettes. Unfortunately I did not take any pics of the food bevause we were to busy eating it. Nice work Tipsy!
Great meal and service...unique beer pricing and the upstairs is a bit small but they have alright drinks.
Discriminatory place. do not go here. 0 stars
The physical space is pretty cool, gives you a taste of the older, grittier gas lamp. Its a fine place to stop in for a drink during the afternoon and early evening. During prime time its a zoo.
Good selection of drinks. Recommend heading to the basement for dancing
Decent beers on tap. A large bottled/ can selection. I cant speak to the food as I didnt eat there. Nice location and atmosphere.
Fun bar to hang out. The vibe and alternating drink prices are a pretty fun. Lots of games to play too. Great bartenders
I love this place and have been going here every Friday for the past year but recently I have been harassed upon entry by the bouncer out front. Last night a group of folks were looking for the entry line and when I pointed it out he proceeded to jump down my throat and disrespect the hell out of me. Like I said though I love this place for its ability to deliver multiple levels of entertainment but Im now considering finding a new spot, there is nothing like a good buzz kill to ruin a good night out
I barely remember being here, it must have been good.
Love this place; but they need to be more selective on the chaps who swing in
Huge portions of food, but cant say the same for the drink pours. Still, our server was friendly and attentive and we enjoyed our time. No complaints, but no raves either.
3 stories of fun! They have club, lounge and a bar! You choose your poison - We went on a night when they had a band which was awesome! The vibe is good, really laid back and staff is friendly. They have several specialty drinks that looked good. And the menu was your needed bar food. Definitely a place we would always be at if we lived in San Diego.
Very appetizing. Looking forward to a return trip. It has an awesome feel to it.
Amazing place for a fun with friends with an underground DJ space and rustic club setting.
The staff is unbelievably friendly! The bartenders are sharp and attentive at all times. If the bouncer tells you to get out, listen to them!
Pretty good bar. Room to chill on the first floor with a couple games. The flat bread was really good. Good selection of local craft beer too
Friendly & fun staff. Funny doorman. Drinks were average. A violinist was setting up for music, we werent able to stay but that looked pretty awesome.
The drinks are priced using a stock market style pricing system. Which is a lot of fun except when you buy a drink the price then goes up because you created higher demand so your next drink of the same type will be more expensive. It was still fun though to watch a price drop as nobody bought a certain drink and then strike while the irons hot.
The stock market aspects of this bar is absolutely amazing and fun I would definitely recommend coming on a weekday so you can take full advantage of it. I will also add that Emily the bartender is amazing
It was a fun experience watching the patriots play here! Slow service but fun atmosphere.
Has connect 4 and jenga on the tables and a lot of good craft beers on tap. We had margaritas and long islands and both were great :)
Good food & drinks...atmosphere is definitely on point.
3 floors! If you go to gaslamp this is a must! Its like the stock market, prices for shots change!Ex: next ten minutes shots will be 5 bucksDownstairs is a dance floor and it has great 2000s music and hits!2nd floor has games
If youre looking for me Im with the girls on the dance floor.
Love the upstairs bar! Wish they had more bartenders on duty for busy nights. 20 minutes to get a drink is too long.
Went to catch what was advertised as “drink like the 1%” on the website. Supposed to use ‘the “Bull Market” Drink Exchange featuring lots of discounted high-end spirits–the fun starts at 8PM ’til Close’ - Came in a bit early to find that it was Whisky Wednesday instead. By 8:20 they still did not have the menu changed. Left early disappointed and wishing we had gone somewhere else.
Decent food and drinks but not super memorable. They commit one of my most hated restaurant crimes... they think chips are an acceptable substitute for fries...they are definitely not. Got Mac and cheese on the side instead and it was pretty good. Server was attentive but she looked miserable the whole time.
Expensive, the exchange was cool but none of the drinks were ever discounted
DOPE bar. 3 levels each with its own personality. Check it out for a good time.
Great Patriots bar in the gas lamp district of San Diego. Nice, local beers on tap and friendly staff.
Very cool atmosphere and concept; the prices dont seem to fluctuate as heavily based on demand as we expected
