From small bands like Fayuca playing to thir themed party nighta like 80s Night and Hip-Hop night. The larger venue even has a side lobby area where you can take a break from the partying and talk to people. OMG this venue is awesome! It was my first time there. Ive been to Alec Benjamin concert and everything went great. I got the balcony seat so I had an awesome view. There is the bar right behind balcony seats, pretty convenient Although I waited in the line like for an hour before they start letting people in, but overall, it was amazing experience and just quality time spending! Pasta Sisters is tiny. There are maybe 2 or 3 tables, and they use their counter for seating as well. Thats what I learned when we tried to eat here on a Friday night, as a group of 4. For the sake of fresh pasta, we squeezed in and sat at the counter.

I have no idea how many times Ive been to HOB San Diego. Ive lost count between the concerts, happy hours, and gospel brunches Ive been to. I like this venue quite a lot. Since last November Ive been to approximately 10 events/concerts at HOB SD and have never had a bad time or a bad show. The acoustics are always so good whether youre upstairs or downstairs. Attended the Holiday Hangover last year for the first time and in February got tickets to the Beer Fest. I never knew about either of those events before but had a great time. With Beer Fests you expect extremely long lines and while there were long lines they handled the flow really well. Think it took much longer to get food than beer but both were worth the wait. This Mothers Day I treated my mom to Gospel Brunch. I didnt know the young lady singing as the headliner but she and the women backing her were spectacular. We even got a welcome surprise of my god-brother killing it on the drums.I need to check out the calendar and see if there is anything coming up and make a trek to HOB; its been a few months. I could use a fix.

Its true that the sounds clarity is best from the middle, but theres nothing nicer than leaning on the structural support beams. The restaurant was ok, time your trip for happy hour save 20%. If you spend $25 each in your party at the restaurant before the show, you get to skip the line. Could come in handy.

What a pleasant surprise to come down to House of Blues stage and see how small and intimate it is. Acoustics were fine... The sound on the opening act didnt come through as crisp and rich as the main event. But other than that it was fabulous. Drinks available at multiple bars, friendly staff and security was alert but not obnoxious...Food at the restaurant was good (even though it was difficult to find food without sweetness)Parking lots were plentiful around the venue, couldnt find a free spot after circling a few times.

I know this has been a very trying time over the last few months, but I feel HoB SD should be trying to do more to get us our money back for tickets we bought in-person to shows that have been cancelled due to COVID-19. The show sounded great. we were up front on the railing due to the Pass The Line option. However, instead of being able to eat and enter through the restaurant we had to wait outside until doors opened for everyone because they closed off the restaurant for a private event. Notice didnt get out about the change until late the afternoon of the show via an email, which other folks said they never even got. We were given credit to use at the bar instead with a limited menu of snacks and of course drinks. For the show people packed in pretty tightly, wasnt easy to get to the bar or restroom once in position towards the stage. Eventually a staffer came to serve those of us on the rail in case we wanted drinks but couldnt get through the crowd. That was nice. The VIP section offered seating but Im not sure how the sound or views are from up there. The snack I got (gator bites) was mediocre. The bucket it came in looks like a good size, but its literally stuffed with paper halfway. It wasnt really seasoned and it was supposed to come with a sauce that I wasnt given. The drinks were fine, though prosecco in a plastic cup is not super classy. This venue may have been disappointing but it didnt ruin the evening altogether. We traveled far to attend and I am just glad we got to enjoy the band up close. They cleared the place out pretty quickly when it was over so we sought out a more inviting bar to finish out the night.

House of Blues. Is a great venue for music, good food and libations. Saw Dark Star Orchestra last night doing a GD show from Iowa 2/5/78. The sound system and acoustics in the house is amazing. Plenty of room to get your groove on or just relax in a comfortable area with plush leather couches and arm chairs to rest your weary bones. Smoking section was difficult to get to because it was all the way upstairs and limited to a certain number of occupants. We never got into that area due to occupancy limits. Servers were friendly. Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves and having a Good Time! However, we had a little trouble using our $25.00 food certificate. It was not honored inside the venue. Only at the restaurant located on the backside of the venue and there was no way to get there unless you left the venue and walked outside and down a block to the 6th Street entrance. We were told we could use the certificate after the show. The show was over at midnight, we got to the restaurant at 12:07 and they had stopped serving food at midnight. A big Thank You to Adam the manager. We settled by getting 4 cans of Red Bull and a glass of Ginger Ale soda. All in all, we had a great experience.TIP: If you get a food voucher, eat and drink before the show, because you will not be able to leave and get back in once you have been inside.

This review is related to a concert i paid for my family to attend... Jacob Collier in April 2020.... Concert was postponed due to Covid... Tried to get a refund right away but they told me to hold out and we would be updated when concert might take place... Waited for months and read every email they sent me (all promotional)... Called a couple times... Finally just decided to stop waiting and called today to cancel... I was told that the window for canceling was 30 days... For a show they never put on! And get this... The 30 days started arbitrarily on May 15th! Nothing to do with purchase date (march) or show date (april)... And the show never took place anyway! So ridiculous... And then they claimed they sent me an email on May 15th to notify me of the invented 30 day refund window... No way! I quadruple checked... No email on that date or containing any such information... Nor would it make any sensek anyway! They didnt provide the service... and they asked us to wait instead of canceling... What a scam! Watch out with Live Nation and House of Blues!

Incredible venue, awesome staff! Really loved coming here for my first time. Ive always heard amazing things about this venue and it definitely lived up to the reputation that I was aware of. Lots of lounge seating down below in the bar area. Gives you very much a personal feel with all the amazing art work and bohemian style wall covers. The vip deck is pretty awesome and they have their own bathroom which is awesome. Great views of the stage no matter where you are up stairs or down. I really like that they have tvs everywhere so if you cant personally see something you can always look at the monitors anywhere .The bathrooms are very dark but it is part of the mood setting and I found it beautiful. However wish they were policed a little more for the selfie queen that were doing drugs and took over 30 minutes to vacate with a friend in tow =/ but hey thats rock n roll right the staff was definitely ontop of everything else though which is fantastic! They were very helpful with someone who was in a cast helping her shuffle around and not get bumped into. They were 100% ontop of any spills of others drinks. Super friendly when you request a water very cool with making sure everyone is greeted with a big hello and a gentleman made sure to wish everyone a wonderful night which was a very nice touch. Makes you feel like very welcomed. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to go here to do so it was overall an amazing venue with a great experience on my part.so very excited about the next adventure here. House of blues is the coolest venue in San Diego it’s pretty big and the architecture of the building is a work of art. You can watch the show from the wrap around balcony upstairs or you can go downstairs into the crowd if you like it more intimate either way you get great views of the stage and plenty of room to dance. I LOVE all of the cool art and decor they have like there’s even a mural on the ceiling it’s awesome! And they even have a lounge room with really comfy yet luxurious couches you can still hear the music in there so it’s perfect if you want to sit down relax and take in the vibes. I hope house of blues starts having more dubstep and edm shows because I will go every time they do I love it!

I ordered the fried chicken, my husband ordered a platter with brisket, andouille sausage and some other sides. The kids had pizzas which were very little they come with fruit or fries. Our friend had the country fried steak. Everything came out fresh and the food was delicious. Everyone liked their food. My fried chicken was fried very hard and close to being burned but not quite so I wasnt the happiest about that. When we were done they brought out the cake I brang with. The only downside is someone threw away the box that it came in. The manager tried her best to give us something we could bring the cake home in, it worked out and I give her an A for effort.

Weve gone to several shows here. In general I think its a really good venue. The sound isnt great, but I think that has a lot to do with the particular band playing and their sound guy. Also as someone close to 50, I wish their were more options for sitting. By the end of the night my feet are usually killing me. Seems like the bands I would pay extra to see have the few VIP tickets available gone within a short time. Thats on me for not being on it right away. Weve eaten at the restaurant before a show, and at the bar during a show. Both have been good experiences. Parking on a weekend show can be challenging. A weekday show is usually pretty easy. We had a little trouble connecting with the person who was handling our VIP package. After I found out how much the VIP tickets were and being in the VIP section, I dont think it was a such a great deal. Youre sitting up above the stage and far to the side. Unless you get right up to the railing, your view is obstructed by the railing. The seats right in the front would have been a much better option for what we paid. Maybe they should rope off a section in the front on each side for VIP? Also, please offer a healthier selection of food choices. Almost everything was fried. We were able to get a salad from the restaurant downstairs. Would definitely NOT recommend the VIP package for anyone going here! Have dinner somewhere else first and purchase regular seating.
