I mainly go there to catch the Via, our city transit. As the ones headed north bound stop there. But, to get back to the park, its a welcoming area, beautifully renovated with tables and chairs, a mini book and game cart. In the summer the flowers are gorgeous and for the holidays its got the Christmas spirit. Nice place to relax, thats not overcrowded. Here is my husband feeding the squirrels.
Loved the lights. Really got us into the Christmas spirit after such a crazy year.
Beautiful plaza but it is very sad to see homeless people living here. I hope they get the help they need. Christmas lights look amazing as always!
I was just strolling through downtown San Antonio and stopped at this location and was surely impressed with Travis Park! I needed to charge my cell phone and also my laptops for both personal and professional use. Travis Park has outside plugs which during this time is a rare event. Kudos to Travis Park and the management for providing a safe and awesome place to enjoy the park and some nice people too!
Clean, lawn was trimmed properly, down side was that their was no Restroom, anywhere. I tracked the area for a public Restroom and ended up having to purchase a beer at a bar to use there restroom. (I dont drink anymore, so i just left it at a table).Public places need public restrooms.
Great night out was not planning on getting out of car but every one keeping there distance lights and tree looked great hope next time not cold so we can take a horse ride
Is very nice park and has a nice feeling of a big city ....the saint Anthony hotel gives that new York city vibe.....
Nice area, but not particularly safe. Plenty of unfortunates that approach you for change, drink illegally and sleep wherever they can throughout the park. Its a little sad how this pandemic has impacted all the awesome events that used to be held here. I use to really love the Jazz Fest and outdoor movie nights.
Dont go here at night, I was harrased by homeless people to give them cigarettes. They didnt believe I didnt smoke and followed me til I went across the street. The entire park had like 30 homeless just hanging outside.
It was great. Beautiful area and awesome President Trump supporters
Nice place to take family or just to walk around and relax..
Went during the Christmas tree event.Very nice
Alot of people just hanging out doing much of nothing.
Nice but people arent much friendly downtown. It was clean and well lit but does not have much of a personality where people would care to frequent the park. Come on San Anronio, think outside the box, bring us to life.
Being my dog for a walk here every weekend nice and calm place
Great park in the eat of downtown, 24hr bid police patrol, dog park, picnic tablesnice place to read a hood book
Travis park is very pretty but its so many homeless people around the area but overall its a nice park they even have a area for dogs as well
The usual spot for Via bus route transfers with normal public transportation folks around here its not a ugly spot be just fine and I can even say not very dirty
Beautiful scenery but I didnt feel safe there. I parked there because my mom had an appointment in the area a lot of unsavory people walking around.
Has a beautiful Christmas tree and at night is really nice
It was one of the best days of my past. Showing me who I was to who I will become. I am always blessed.
Nice but hard to find parking
Great place to take the family or just to spend some time by yourself
There may be homeless that walk through here but Travis park is historical and amazing. Some of the best events have been held here. It is also a main hub for many bus lines to come through. Great church on the corner. Great hotel overlooking the park. Just one of many amazing places in San Antonio.
It’s a lot better then it once was. Sure the homeless are sorta still there but you feel more safe then you use to. Not to say that it’s perfect but has been cleaned up. I like all the events that the city has going on year round that really shows off the park.
I use to come here alot with my ex.but I was here last mouth with my mother sylvia because the bus there it takes here to here apartment were she live at.
What could be more fitting for a little girls birthday wish and Frozen 2, roar?: an exciting magical experience. An intended trip to the skating rink to celebrate my daughters 7th birthday wish. Nevertheless, shes never skated and I was not feeling intrigued. So, after she had a hard fall, I asked for help. What I got in return was something unexpected. Mr. Matt, the person in charge, came out listened to me. All awhile strategizing. Wouldnt you know it! Mr. Matt, made a very kind gesture and took the time to skate with my daughter to help realize a birthday girls wish come true. While focusing on connecting.Thank you
Great spot to hang out, great surroundings around the park.
I love counting pigeons and squirrels.
Very nice and clean park. Nice and relaxing.
Beautiful park homeless wont bother you. They are ppl just like u and I
I have visited and enjoyed Travis Park for decades. It has changed dramatically becoming more safe for locals and tourists alike with a cordoned doggy park area and space for pinics on the lawn, or the parks center with tables and chairs. The new appearance creates a feeling of being welcome. And I look forward to more decades of it hosting various events that my family and I can enjoy!
The park itself is pretty and relatively clean. However, the sidewalks are littered with panhandlers and junkies so the experience is soured and feels very unsafe.
Not too sure how park is but a lot of buss go there
Great park just be mindful it is a smoke free area. No vaping either. Other than that a great area to be in.
Its a nice park. There are better downtown parks. Thats why the 4 stars. Its still nice though
I know its because of covid-19 but I was disappointed in the Christmas
Quiet wasnt to busy or crowded yet tables need some repairing. Not far from bus station river walk around corner. Great location beautiful flowers. Oh yeah monks doesnt get any better than monks they alone are 5 stars
Some meth head just dont know how to act in public
We went on Christmas Day and was able to enjoy the ice skating rink. The park was nice and so was the rink. The rink was wet thats when you knew who fell down. The parking was not great of course since its downtown you have to pay for parking. If you get lucky you can find good parking at the meters or youre walking. The rink was affordable. It was a great experience for the kids. The tree and lighting was nice. The rink needs to be bigger ! Will go again hopefully soon
They have lots of homeless around and they must use the area for bathroom and it smell. Ive being there before, but this time it was sad to see all the homeless there
Has gotten pretty, but to many homeless sleeping on the benches.
Best location to get a ride in any bus you may need plus plenty of room for cars too whatever your pleasure. Great ice skating rink which is seasonal and beautiful park to hang out in the homeless stay to themselves a rarely bother anyone give them a chance God bless them all!!
Great park for our little big fella. Within walking distance of hotel.
Beautiful seenery lots of homeless tho
No freaken lights walked along way to not see nothing
Decorated nicely for Christmas.
Beautiful with all Christmas lights
Great park near the very heart of SA downtown
Travis Park is great once the homeless people move out
They were putting up the Xmas tree!!Plus they were setting up the ice skating rink!! Looks like its gonna be a festive Holliday... Happy Hollidays to all!!
Good location with bus terminal and filtered water and places to charge your devices
Sweet . The lights . Awesome
Theres nice people there.
Its hard to find a parking space and it will cost you to park. Parking is free after 5PM and weekends. The homeless problem has diminished a lot in Travis Park. For being a small park it has a lot to offer. Its the third oldest park in the country. It has a fenced in area for dogs. It has functions like Jazz Alive Certain times of the year it has movies at night. During the day it has a kiosk, where you check out books or games. It has 24 hour security. City maintenance does a great job in decorating and maintaining.I have been there when they set up a stage and have ballet show. Another time, I was sitting down at a table eating food I brought from a food vendor at the park. Then a large bus pulled up and a high school band got off and played while I was eating. Very romantic especially at night.
Its a relaxing place to chill from all the hustle and bustle of downtown
Excellent place to just rest and catch buses or cars and now an ice skating rink for the locals and out of towners!! They even have events fun for all from time to time!! I love you and God bless you all who run and speaking of run there is our wonderful officers on bike patrol that keep it safe for everyone especially for the families.
This park was great! They have events and you can come here either with your other half or with friend and have a drink spending nice music with a great conversation.
It is nice and clean with lots of officers insight
Decorated very beautiful
Beautiful park my kid loves it
Interesting place during the day but dont go at night
I feel like you cant even enjoy the park theres to many homeless people walking around laying down sleeping everywhere and police dont say nothing to them its not a place you would want to take your kids...
Beautiful little oasis in the middle of downtown. Only a block or so from the Alamo and riverwalk
Cause the homeless people were nice!!!
Nice place to visit with the family
Good time for Seasons, Not so much the rest of the year.
Too many homeless asking for change, good, or cigs. Living sleeping acting mental bad place, again
This park is going through change after change. Now there is an ice skate ring. Creative but it takes up so much limited space. I love when there is movies in the park. Homeless is a major issue and even though there is a strong police presence it still feels unsafe.
Beautiful you can see
Nice decorated Christmas
Great place for the kids
Rock and roll marathon ended at Travis park and it was really nice. They currently have the Christmas tree there and there is even an ice skating rink there for the holidays.
It is a very busy downtown park, where locals catch buses, to different locations in the city. They have all kinds of things going on from concerts, to demonstrations, there are chairs, benches, and lots of people surround it daily.
Terrible line management. We walked up to pay, they just switched from 2 open aisles to one because there were only three customers paying,, and Im #3. FINE.Of course the first customer is slow and has trouble with the card reader. A line of 4 more people forms. They open a new register...and ask customer # 4 to go to the new aisle.People quickly follow into new aisle. I am still # 3 of 5 in the old aisle....the new aisle is now 4 deep.My aisle, the 1st customer finally finishes. Customer #2 has limited English skills and has an item that they cant scan. An associate goes off to retrieve the item or find the price, or something. The other aisle is flying through customers until it is now fairly empty. The associate returns and a comedy of errors ensues as 4 people discuss how to price an item that UPC wont scan. I am finally next in line, after 11 minutes of waiting. My transaction is quick...here is the card and cash ready...done in 2 minutes. No sorry for the wait.No thank you.No putting the slow customer off to the side until they retrieved her item. What a terrible, terrible example of customer service.
This park has had such a massive makeover the past few years! The beautification process was greatly done! It may be small but it is now a family friendly park with plenty of SAPD presence in the form of Bike Patrols, power outlets to charge your devices, plenty of moveable seating, and many trees for shade on hot days in this Texas heat! It is even equipped with a small dog park and doggie bags located there, and at the trash & recycling receptacles! Well worth a visit if looking for an outdoor setting!
Loved the place, has a lot of fun things to do like ice skating, relaxing with friends at the public bar. Right now they have a Christmas Tree up so your family can go and check it out. Bring some friends so you can have a blast out there
Went to see the holiday season skating rink. The rink was very well done. In the late afternoon had plenty of skaters(San Antonio Rampage ice hockey team sold and moving to Las Vegas)
Very beautiful and relaxing park
Its such a beautiful place to visit during da holidays
Quaint park. Used to come here often back in high school. Not much has changed. The only thing is to be careful with migrants and homeless people. Which usually dont bother us but still be cautious while in the area.
Beautiful Christmas lights !
A great place to meet and greet
Alot of different characters be careful
The gardens were awesome.
Park is very well kept, nice and clean with benches and plenty of shade. Nice park
Quiet small park, smack dab in the middle of downtown. Plenty of shade and when the flowers are in full bloom, so gorgeous. Perfect for a place to sit and people watch or enjoy a quiet lunch. Ive gone here a couple of times during my lunch break and its just so calm and pretty.
Pretty Christmas lights, not crowded on a weekday evening. Parking available next to the park.
Went to go see the Christmas tree! Absolutely beautiful. I was there on a Saturday at midnight! And there was still alot of people so be ready !
