Loved this ride, one of my favorites. You have a combination of wide open fields and it leads into brush and wooded areas. There were plenty of deer and provides exceptional sunsets over the citys airport.
I love this park but these days you have to be careful there. Ive seen bunched up groups of people, all maskless, laughing and within inches from each other, shouting, etc.. walking toward me on the paths.. I like to see people happy, but there IS a pandemic and I dont understand why so many people act like there isnt. I just avoid them and find another path, and go when there are few people.
Beautiful, large and well maintained dog park!! Our babies loved it! Definitely a new weekly event for our fur fam! Extra bonus was the trails surrounding the park and the agility course in the park.
Best mountain biking trails in SA! Plus so much more. You can do a short ride, long ride, hard ride, or easy ride. If you want to get on the paved trails and ride to another park, you can do that too. Good for beginners and families, but challenging enough for expert riders too.
I have run and hiked all of the trails here and consider this a second home. This park is non-technical, with minimal elevation changes, making it ideal for novices and experts. The courses are well-maintained thanks to S.T.O.R.M. McAllister is perfect for bringing your family, young or old, and enjoy the day out in nature.
Great park! Theres lots of trails and stuff and do and see!! There are TONS of deer and theyre not afraid of people either!! Its ultimately pretty cool. The only reason it only gets 4 stars, isnt really the parks fault. Its the people. There are a LOT of weirdos in this park, and I probably would make sure Im packing before going back.
I have to admit from the parking lot it did not look like much. I took one of the hiking and biking trails across an open field and found a side trail into some brush and trees. This is where the wonderful nature hike showed it’s beauty. Plenty of shade trees, dry creek beds, trails that run up and down embankments, and plenty of deer. Super amazing for both biking and nature hikes. Many of the trails are for bikes and have twist, turns, and run up and down hills. Most of the bike trails are marked with signage. I very much enjoyed the hiking in this park.
Love this park. Get there early to beat the crowds. Lots of beautiful deer around. Nice dog park in the back. Be mindful of where you and your pup walk though, there are coral snakes out here.
This is the perfect place to just go enjoy all the deer everywhere. Also perfect place for your teen to start learning how to drive.Perfect place for picnics or a get together.
There is something here for everyone. Absolutely beautiful park with wonderful trails. I will always adore Mac!
Great place to get out with the family. Biking trails, soccer and other sport fields. My son really enjoys seeing all the deer!
This park has 38 miles round trip of bike trail mostly shaded. The city is still expanding it. Once it is complete this will have 70 miles round trip trail
Giant park with endless miles of bike trails and walking areas. Dog parks, athletic fields etc. Police department right next to Southside so its safe
Good park that offers many different things. 2 or 3 playgrounds. Fields for baseball, football, soccer, as well as flying kites and such. Trails for biking and walking/ running.
Saw deer get close to us, saw a cardinal in the trees, it was a peaceful park at that time.
One of THE best parks in San Antonio! Dog parks! Large fields to fly a kite, play soccer, baseball, have a special event, or watch the lunar eclipse! Playgrounds and picnic tables for the kiddos. Paved and unpaved trails for any level of athleticism, with lots of parts shaded by the beautiful trees. Do the blue trail for bikes or walk or run it to lose yourself in the spring blooms. 5ks can be seen taking place here. Deer roam freely and if you’re lucky, you’ll see an armadillo too! Best part: Park Police is visible and it’s safe to run alone in.
Honestly, I LOVED this park. There is a wonderful play area for the kids, an ice cream area with a wonderfully nice lady named Corrine, and great trails. There are very nice people walking their dogs on leashes and great views. I wish the trails were wider for bike riders to mix with walkers, but overall not a bad place at all! I recommend a visit or two.
Beautiful walking trail both wooded and paved also great for biking !!
Ive visited it for the past 15 years! T he park contains 976 acres with recreational fields, picnic areas, play areas and public toilets, trails for hiking, biking, and running. Well maintained and patrolled by SA Park police.
Lovely park. Theres deer everywhere.
First time visiting, and I was truly impressed. Several sites to choose from, walking trails! clean and very close to my home now. I will most certainly be visiting often. Just one thing I have noticed on several occasions where cyclists ride anywhere here in Texas. Non showed knowledge of trail rules as far as announcing when approaching from behind. In California we say something like,on your left! Etc. Other then that, awesome park.
Kids had fun, parents and grandparents enjoyed a great baseball game.
Beautiful place to walk or bike. Lots of animals to see like deer, armadillos, raccoons, cats, owls and Cardinals! Dont wear earphones here. You are going to want to hear people approaching from behind to pass you. Nice and shady too!
We walk every night here there are lots of dears . Its so relaxing
Its like the country but in the middle of the city. Great trails for walking, running and biking.
Beautiful park with lots of trails. Deer are plentiful. Great for all kinds of outdoor activities.
Love this park !! I do 28 miles on bike trail and very friendly place and everyone keeps to them selves no judging and very clean park with park rangers on bikes
Good playground for kids but they keep putting police tape on it. Guys get over it. Kids are outside and their risk is minimal. Let the kids play.
Love this park, secret hidden gems everywhere. Especially during butterfly season
Love this park. So many areas to roam on feet or a bike
We live right by the park. So, we visit frequently. Its a great park. Lots of areas to have the kids or dogs run around. The dog park is also great. The park has a ton of great trails for hiking or biking.
Great shaded trails. Wilderness in the city. The deer are friendly, but wont let you ride them. For that reason. 4 stars
Nice views, but can have better labeling of the blue loop. Too many areas where homes are on one side, too many areas where one is just walking in the open sun (not through the actual green), but its probably really hard to make a 6.8 mi walk in the middle of the city.
Amazing Park, Trial for MTB are awesome, %100 recommended.
Lots of space and a really nice concrete trail. Plus a hidden playground for the kiddos.
Its a very good place to relax and exorcising..quite and save for kids and pets...
One of San Antonios cleanest parks. Has paved and unpaved trails . Grades on the trails are mild in comparison to Eisenhower park. On the unpaved trails you must watch for cyclists as this park has a lot of them.
Beautiful, huge park nice for sitting, having picnics just being outside. Nice long trails for walking or bike riding. Deers out in the open walking around. The only thing bad is no water, all dried up. But someone put out bowls everywhere so the deers have drinking water.
Great trails. You can feed deer apple pieces because they are so tame. It is a great place to get outside while maintaining social distance.
Nice place to spend time with the family, lots of construction going on for the best .
Great place to look at the stars, you see small animals like deers and racoons. Great place for Bar-B-Ques.
This is by far my favorite park in San Antonio. Facilities are great and the trail system is one that will keep you exploring for days to come. There are a few littering issues, but I feel like park folks are taking care of this as needed. My only complaint are the bags of dog droppings all over the place near trails. I am not sure if this is a policy by the park, but I doubt it as one can easily dispose of such things as this.
Beautiful park with trails for biking, hiking, and walks. They recently upgraded the restrooms as well.
Very large park with lots of space to do different things
I live besides the park has to give 5 stars to this beatifull park
This is a great park. Lots of trails and walking paths that are regularly maintained. There is a group of deer that seem to live here and are very friendly. If you come with bread, they will walk right up to you and eat it out of your hand.
Make darker park has been here since I was a child I loved it and always will just be careful its not always safe but thats anywhere you go nowadays but its a wonderful wonderful Park whenever you can go there and enjoy yourself but just keep to yourself please do not hesitate arguing and fighting because they do do that but its a wonderful wonderful park it needs security that it does and it would do so much to be able to have security during the hours of its there or whenever they see a lot of people starting to come they should get security there thank you
Nice playground for kids under 12. Nice walking trails.
I really enjoyed it the best parts were the turns and the bumps some thrills and scares
I loved the trees, walking trails here. I came out with my family on a picnic here.its calm and a great escape with our busy life. Kids enjoyed very well. You can reserve you pavilion for parties. There are 2-3 pavilions. Huge dog park is here as well. The park is huge. The few of the picnic benches are well in shaded area for a nice summer picnic with your family.
Great park with lots of shaded trails and soccer fields and dog parks. There are several playgrounds as well.
Its possible to wander around some of the trails and genuinely feel alone. You cant always tell how they loop around so you need either a map, or a decent sense of direction, or ample time to find your way back.
Love the peacefulness of this park and seeing a thriving population of deer.
It is great place to go walking and bike riding....by yourself or with family and friends. There us also an awesome dog park for your four legged family member. Right next to the dog park...there is a huge open field...great place to train your dog...or let them run a bit. There are soccer fields and kid friendly parks...with differently things they can run or climb on. You can bbq there and reserve a covered areas for small or large parties...
We love to hike the blue trail, and then let our dogs play in the park after!
The park was wonderful. I spent know what to expect on my 1st visit. I was pleasantly surprised to see deers, hawks & armadillos. Love this park.
A lot of trails. Great space.
Lots of great options for running, biking, baseball and lots of other physical activities. Or just hanging out with the family.
One of the best dog parks around. Go after 5pm on weekdays to see more dogs.
I love going to this park. It had so much land to it, and so many trails to walk. I really love living ten minutes away from it because sometimes like to go on picnics, on dog walks, or on a run. I love going to the dog park my dog would never want to leave, and he would make friends with other dogs that would go there often too. I really love how much shade there is from the trees and how you can just relax without being bothered. I also love seeing the wild life.
Great spacious park for the whole family or for a solo adventure!!
Just gorgeous and lots of deer
There are a lot of things to do from soccer to playgrounds, skating, riding bikes and even a herd of deer. Please drive slow there are many people. I believe the pump park is still closed, area is blocked off.
This is my second goto spot after Lady Bird park. It has more area but no Wifi for me to do the work that I need to do if I want to run away and do computer work outside of the house
Weather was beautiful temperature was perfect to eat dinner in the park and to share nature with our friends
Lovely and spacious park! Lots of paved walking and bike trails to enjoy.
One of the best parks in San Antonio! Always great people and my daily walks are different every time!
I really love this park. It has a dog park, a play ground and a lot of hiking trails! Is easy to spot from the road.
Awesome trail for biking, jogging, dog walking, or just to shake off the quarantine...
Good to see people out and exercising, being courteous and giving helpful tips.
Great place for kids
Enjoy going here, lots of free space for family or by self, this pandemic just puts a damper on plans sometimes, has a dog park, soccer field, playground, walking/hiking trails, even has water before venturing out asking with portajohns
Tons of parking and miles of trails makes it the perfect place for anyone
Nice trails.... Lots of area to explore... Will be returning
Was pretty busy with other dogs but they all got along great!
Great trails! Scenery is beautiful
Liked the Mud Creek trail for mbt riding not so rocky
We have been regulars at this park for nearly 10 years and I dont think weve seen the whole thing yet! Soccer fields, dog park, play grounds, party gazebos, walking trails, biking trails...it never ends!
I been to so many small dog parks and they keep disappointing me ... for some reason the park discriminates small dogs.... all the good stuff is at the big side ....
Plenty of trails for biking, hiking and walking. Dog park and fields for sports. More improvements are being done as we speak.
Establishment was very clean. Waited a lil over 25 mins. But i understand during Rona. But the chilli tasted like wolfe brand chilli it was hard better yet dry.. Sad day. Im so convinced its out of the can or bag. Im going to get it tested im that positive.. I called to ask and was reassured its their normal chilli.
Great place for young kids and train enthusiasts. Ran by super kind volunteer staff who are passionate about trains!
This is the park I first took my son when he was learning to walk. He was a big fan of the open fields and swings, slides and crawl spaces. We would spend the mornings there on weekends and then sometimesThe afternoons. The walks still inspire me, as do the deer and other little creatures living there. The wooded paths are wonderful and give off oxygen that relaxes and renews, a wonderful place
Best park in town. Blue loop trail is about 6 mi around the whole park. Great for mountain biking, walking, trail running. I always see deer, owls, armadillos, and the occasional snake!
Beautiful please to spend time with friends and family riding bikes or walking the trails
This place has some really great running trails, Just, watch out for bikes ;)
Granddaughter Meli and I were looking for a good park to take my young grandson Christopher, she tried all the play toys and gave her approval
After a long hiatus from mountain biking Ive decided to take the sport backup and McAllister Park offers trails from beginner to intermediate levels which perfectly my reacclimation to mountain biking while having room for me to grow into higher-level trails. The park is well-kept and the several other amenities all seem to be well-liked and utilized.
The trails here are beautiful and there is plenty of shade. We always have fun.
