Took a drive today to see the aqueduct. Just love coming here.it was nice and quiet so you could hear the water flowing. Reading the history of this place is amazing. Great place to spend a couple of hours. put a blanket down while the kids go on an adventure. There isnt much parking but its free I would check the hours its open because there is a gate. Also there are no res rooms.
Love the history & going in the morning its so peaceful hearing the birds
Love this area of san antonio very pleasant and peaceful and the park nearby is nice to enjoy the day as long as homeless and dope fiends are away for good
This place is an absolute beuty to visit. Amazing piece of history & architectural wonder to go visit. Easy access right off the River Walk hike bike trail or park in the lot nearby. Im a history & nature enthusiast so Im likely biased, but brought the family along for an adventure & we all had a great time!
Quick easy visit for some history. Worth popping in for it.
Awesome trails and they extended it further. Great ride and friendly bike rider abound!!! Lets go bike riding!!!!
My photographs of this location were challenging to capture with how horribly polluted with trash it is in its current state. I stumbled across used Hyperdermic needles. Proceed with caution. Otherwise, the potential for being an interesting spot is there. The history aspect is fabulous. It is in fire need of attention.
This is a neat place to stop in while visiting the Missons. It is amazing to think about how they engineered and built this in the 1700s and its still operational today. Give yourself enough time before 4:30 if you want to hike the trail. Gates close!
Very nice and good walk
Quiet tucked away discovery on the mission trail.
Quiet piece of history
Cool piece of living history. Smaller and less impressive than I thought.
Great place to relax and have a picnic, have a stroll down the trail you wont be disappointed.
Awesome!
Very nice trails, relaxing environment, great work from the native and Spanish to started then our city to complete the beautiful trails network.
Built in 1734-1740 interesting.
If youre into visiting the missions and learning their history and how they functioned, dont leave out the aqueduct, an important part of the story.
Pretty cool to go see this piece of ingenuity up close. There are some restorations or something going on now with a bunch of orange construction fence around it, but it was still worth biking over to see.
Fascinating and beautiful.
This use to be a wonderful place to go n walk around. Show children a little history. Tell stories. Now everything is blocked off. What a waste. Just to make a walkway. Lose the ability to look for history n adventure.
Very historic.
Although the city has made some improvements to it, they only fixed the front of it. Nothing internal. Even the trails are blocked with over growth. Also, youd think they wouldve added bathrooms to it like they promised. They bought the properties (7 homes as a matter of fact) of the people that lived next to the aqueduct and promised to build a ranger station with plumbing. All they did was make a parking lot, added trash cans, fixed the walls with flagstone & added a new historical marker.
Interesting place :)
This place has teen age memories. Also much history there. My dogs love to get wet. Love this place. Small but great.
How awesome that American natives built this structure. That it is in San Antonios back yard is fitting. Right near Stinson airport, it also includes trails. The scenery is beautiful and tranquil. Go during pecan season and collect pecans.
Really nice good place to take the fur babies
Must see part of San Antonio history if youre into that sort of historical vibe
I cant say enough about the various features of the missions historical spots. Each of them has a unique character, and spirit. The aqueduct is amazing to me, since its Roman engineering that is still surviving in the 21st century. Heartily endorsed.
When I was going to school off of South Presa I used to come here during lunch and sit
Nice place bring the children definitely a family spot. The atmosphere is very chill people just walk by and dont say nothing like it should be just a lil wave hi n bye.
Something so simple and yet so useful. This speaks volumes about how clever our ancestors were. Aqueducts and dams like this have been in use for thousands of years around the world with little change to their basic structure. Preservation is critical.
Great place to walk, hardly any shade .
Very nice
I Love it there. Peaceful and quiet. Beautiful place to be!
The history is fascinating. To see the means of irrigation from before there was a United States helps to put the history in context. I am pretty sure there are no other surviving aquaducts of this time period anywhere in North America.
Beautiful, historic, and functional! Its like stepping back in time.
Went for a hike with my wife and kids, my 7yo loves the history of the river, missions and everything else along the trail. well maintained and good parking
Relaxing to walk and learn from the past
More local history and great example of how people lived in the past
Not a whole lot to see, an aqueduct carrying water over/across a stream -- but the placard has the best explanation of how the gravity system of the acequias worked, I had been struggling to understand it
Great place to take the family to learn history
This is a rural country trail, just minutes from the San Antonio metropolis. Its a jewel in San Antonio, if you love the outdoors this is never crowded and always tranquil.
I had no clue this was even here. Not very big but kinda cool to at least add to your list of things to see.
Always a nice and quiet place to clear your mind
Beautiful tranquil area to sit and meditate
Lots of connecting trails for walking/biking. Historical site.
Love the water flow. Quite nice place. Great for pictures!
Nice little spot
I worked the property very professional and encouraging staff
Great photos. Great park
Oldest Spanish aquaduct in the US. Pretty cool.
Quiet and natural experience along the San Antonio Mission trail. Good place to have a picnic with the family and enjoy the scenery while learning some history.

Loved the missions. Very educational and fun to explore! This was my favorite on the mission trail.
Its a pretty chill smoke spot lmao
Nice quiet place to meditate or just sit listen to the birds, stick your feet in the little creek,I wouldnt go there by myself to isolated.
Its awesome there.
Trash floating on river and some accumulation of it,near the edge of river was sag to see :-/
I love th o s place been going since i was a kid
I remember first visiting the aquaduct when I was a child at school. Since then, I visit them regularly. It is a beautifully quiet and relaxing area to touch a piece of living history.
Lovely mission with a great tour guide. They have their own aqueduct organic garden with native foods.
This was interesting.
Its a great place to hang out for a while, go for a hike, walk around etc... Water is a little dirty so I wouldnt recommend swimming!
So overgrown and dog feces everywhere.
Was totally fun boys really enjoyed themselves
I love this park because you get to learn interesting facts about Indians that once lived there and you could peacefully walk among the trails.
What a find! Just happened to see a sign while taking the Missions tours.Peace and serenity here!
Not alot their just an old aqueduct. No facilities of any kind.
Pretty place to take pictures
