This is one of the treasured gems of Salt Lake City. The facility is super clean and maintained. The animals all seem to be well cared for and managed. The staff are fairly friendly except for one person who was rude to me today but the team leads seem to be receptive when I reported. The zoo has taken great measures to ensure public safety during the Covid pandemic. I’ve been coming for years and have appreciated coming here now more that I have a toddler. I highly recommend and will be back.
Always a fun time at the zoo for the whole family. Plenty of animals to see. Winter seems to be an especially good time, the animals are more active than Ive usually seen and the crowds appear to be smaller. Just be prepared that they do currently require masks for everyone, for the entire visit, even though it is primarily outdoors.
The zoo was awesome! The only downside was that we paid to feed the giraffes. It was windy that day and so they cancelled. We totally understand this, but they never notified us. We waited for 20 minutes and no one ever came. We had to ask a few employees what was going on and then eventually figured out that it was cancelled because of the wind. There should have been a sign, email, employee or something notifying us that it was cancelled.
We have a 2.5 year old daughter that absolutely loves the zoo. We ended up buying a year long pass because we end up going so much, and I was pleasantly surprised with the price for a year pass. The only downside is that you have to reserve times right now as a member, but I’m not sure if that’s just a COVID regulation or not.
This is a cute little zoo! They have beautiful animals and a fun train ride and carousel. The staff were very helpful and wanted to make sure you had a great experience. Especially when the tigers are playing hide and seek, so you cant spot them easily. It can get warm so if you are a tourist like me, make sure to bring water and sunscreen.
Great zoo experience! It wasn’t very crowded and almost everyone we saw followed the COVID guidelines like wearing a mask! So much fun to see all the diverse animals from all around the world! My little brother who is 4 especially enjoyed it!
My wife and I heard that November was half off and decided to go. I had pretty low expectations to be honest. It ended up being extremely fun and the animals they had were much cooler then I expected. Extremely fun and very safe with the COVID safety and restrictions they have.
Fantastic! I have kids all under age 8; they enjoyed it, we enjoyed it. Great variety of wildlife. They must have known we were coming and because all the animals decided to come out. Considering COVID19, this was really a great place, not over packed but still being frequented. Highly recommend!Only disappointment was the train ride. Ride quality was nice but duration was very lacking! I mean big time. By the time we felt settled into our seats the ride was concluding. The last segment was all on historical items vs. (And i add emphasis here, Hogle Zoo i hope you read this) showing more of the park. People go to a zoo to be transported to some place theyve never been and have only dreamed about as a child. I dont know about other folks but I have generally passed by the non Zoo related items and get to the meat of why I paid to get in. Until Hogle decides to up the Ante on the train ride and make it longer and more engaging: save your money on this aspect.
This is a nice zoo thats clean and well kept. We went during October 2020, so there werent that many people there which was great. When we checked in the person at the front was great and advised everyone to wear mass. Unfortunately there are still people that didnt wear them even inside places that required them. The only downside is the train ride. It is so short and was only about 2 minutes long. We expected it to take us through the entire zoo, but that wasnt the case. Overall a nice zoo.
Just went for the first time. With school in session and covid we mostly had the place to our selves. Most of the animals were still out roaming about. Got to see a lot of the animals eating. Had a great time.
Great place to visit! So much fun to see the beautiful animals. I think Hogle Zoo does a great job at caring for the animals. Very clean, well maintained and great for an enjoyable time with friends and family!
Coming from California for a good vacation and going to the zoo with my family is amazing its really small zoo but it keeps the family entertain and being around the animals... Especially that its my first time being here I like it... I would definitely come here again...
Born and raised here in SLC Ive been coming here since I could even walk. This place is amazing to go on family outings, dates etc. They have quite a variety of beautiful exotic animals and events for everyone to enjoy.I love the developments theyve made to the Zoo over the years its great that theres still a place were I went as a child that I can bring my family to.
Its a small Zoo. Will only take you about two hours to see everything. Thats the only downside. However its a great place for an afternoon outing. Its clean, has character, and even animals sometimes.I come here every couple years and its always a good time. And lets be honest here... What other Zoo around here are you gonna go to instead?
Smaller zoo, but organized and everyone is very kind. They have taken precautions serious and made the experience nice. There was so much little care moments with information, signs, and animals. If you around salt lake its a nice place to visit.
We came here at the start of December. We were told they sold food items near the polar bears when we entered the zoo. We have a one year old and half way through the visit he was extremely fussy because we had to walk the rest of the park to get to the food. We finally got to the grill and it was closed. The cafe was also closed. We then see near the entrance one place that sold food. The burger, corn dog and pretzel are all winners. Unfortunately the zoo doesn’t have any outdoor heaters so the food was cold before we could finish it. None of the exhibits were open and there weren’t any kind of kid entertainment (balloons, face painting, etc). It felt really disappointing when we drove an hour to come. Probably not going to come back again.
I always love going to see the animals. They look happy and relaxed whether moving around or sleeping.
This is a great zoo. All the Animals are in great spots to be seen. The Giraffes and baby gorillas were so great. The Red pandas are the best though.
I loved it!!!! But they really need to enforce the masks, I got sneezed on by a man not wearing his mask! And my body cant handle sickness well, but overall was a great experience and an awesome place for kids and adults to have some fun!!!
My first visit since covid hit. It was a very nice visit but better to go earlier in the morning to beat the heat and the animals will be out more since they are sheltering from the heat as well. I was happy to spend the $100 on a membership to help keep the animals happy and healthy. Everything was clean and plenty of people wearing mask. It is worth it to see the new babies. It wasnt over crowded and a nice place to let your kids be kids.
What can I say, I love the Hogle Zoo! Weve had memberships for a couple years and its been wonderful. The zoo is well maintained and the animals are cared for. Its not the biggest zoo, but that just means its easy to see everything in just a couple hours. Great place, good atmosphere.
Very fun for the kids! Plan on scheduling online in advance. A mask is required when in indoor activities but most people wear their mask throughout. They have really taken guidelines for safety into consideration. Boo nights is awesome for the kids. The animals seem a little more active but it is hard to see some.
Have not been to the zoo for a long time. It has changed a lot. The exhibit are much smaller and they have taken away quite a few animals. It was fun to see the new baby gorilla. Boo Lights is more for little kids. I think it would be nice to have red lights to see the animals better in the night you couldnt see them but you could hear them and that was cool.
I remember so many more animals in the past. Reptiles, amphibians, petting zoo of miniatures, happier more involved primates, interesting animals from the deer family. I was surprised that we did not see a single water dish with water in it. That was surprising. Also, there were no workers on hand to ask questions or notify of issues. Where were the turtles? Birds? Polar bears? Flamingos? It is sad to see the lack of animals.
Went here a few times these past two years. Feeding the Giraffe is a must, seeing the gorillas and lions and elephants is pretty neat. Not a very large zoo, but not very expensive either.
The kids loved seeing the giraffes and zebras right as we entered the park. They also loved the seal exhibit, and the carasel. In the evening we went to Zoo Lights. The Christmas lights were AMAZING!!!!
Ive been to this zoo two times and I never get tired of it. I love the animals that I saw and I liked riding the train and carousel. I saw the animals including: the African Lions, the African Elephants, the Siberian Tigers, The white rhinos, the Giraffes, An ostrich, the zebras, A warthog, The Grizzly bears, I did not see the polar bears unfortunately but I did see them the first time I went to this zoo. Other Animals I saw are The Amur Leopards, the snow Leopards, a Siberian Lynx, Red foxes, Some Turkmenian Markhors, some Monkeys, the Orangutans, the Gorillas, the black footed cat, The Arabian sand cats, the reptiles, the birds, the Amphibians, and the Arachnids. It was fun, Im definitely coming back next time!
Went for there Boones and it was great. Family had alot of fun!
So awesome!!! Animals look healthy people have each other room. I hope they keep the appointment s for viewing. This has helped so much and made our experience better.
Fabulous. *see review for asian highlands* The most exciting stuff happens from 12:00-2:00 pm. I have face to face encounters with both lions and with orangutans. There is a pair of orangutans that sit with their face pressed against the glass and just watch you. So you can kneel right to the glass and be right face to face with her. Same thing with the male and female lions during feeding time around 2:00 pm. What an amazing experience to be face to face with such huge male lions!!! What an amazing place, full of close up encounters.
Smaller zoo, but kept my young kids entertained for a few hours. We went on a rainy day but plenty of animals still out and active. Didnt feel very restricted here with COVID-19 compared to previous visits. One of their gorillas had just given birth and we were able to see her with the baby so that was pretty neat.
Zoos can be tough because the outing is all dependent on the animals activity level. Today was 5* worthy. Most of the animals were quite active and the baby gorilla was adorable.Other times Ive been though, the animals arent quite as active. Its fun but not always absolutely amazing.
Great zoo. Couldnt do as much due to covid, but everyone was still very friendly and the animals looked like they were very well taken care of. The habitats were clean and nice, and the viewing platforms were accessible enough to see all the animals without making it seem like they were on display not the biggest zoo Ive ever been to, but it was very nice!
Boo lights. Fun for kids. Loved the harry potter maze. Fun lights.
The animals all look happy and healthy. The panther seems to love having its picture taken and with the new lion habitat they nap right by the viewing glass which is super fun. There are tons of interactive learning experiences which is super awesome as well as informational plaques to tell you about each of the animals.
The animals were depressed, all aside from the monkeys and goats. Although, the monkeys still had way too small of an enclosure for comfort. One of them was all alone compulsively scratching itself for minutes straight. Opt for a more humane zoo and dont give this organization your money. I love seeing the animals but they need more space and I wont be returning until they have that.
Hogle Zoo is great. We were able to see red pandas, otters, and giraffes up close, and the polar bear was super active, but I was disappointed that even with the reservation system the Zoo felt too crowded. Not much different than visiting pre-pandemic on a weekday. I wish they would space folks out even more.
I love this zoo! We are members and always learn something new each time we go. They are taking great precautions with COVID-19, keeping people safe while on their premises.
Loved the experience with the animals! The baby gorilla, and the lions, and sea lion show were the best part! We also fed the elephant. Totally worth the extra $15 per person! One problem though is masks are only strongly recommended, and no enforcement of masks or social distancing. Other than that, awesome place to go for our 2 year olds birthday!
We love the zoo! It is such a great place to come and let everyone burn some energy. We get a season pass and love being able to come and go as we please with our family of kids. You also get a small discount on purchases like food, gifts, etc. Everything is outside except some of the monkeys and the reptiles. Be prepared for the weather of the day. Every spot is stroller/wheel chair friendly and there are only a couple of hills, the rest is mostly flat. You can come early and watch them feed the animals. The holiday events are great and they are open year round. The play areas are great and there are lots of places to stop and sit. You can bring your own food in without issue. Great Friendy staff and good service. Food is decent and the gift shop is super fun. They stopped giving straws and plastic bottles to help protect the animals and the environment!
The zoo was the first place we took our kids since the Pandemic. And we do not regret it since everything was so organized and well maintained. I don’t know how it’s now but we needed to buy our tickets online and schedule a time to go, and we could just spend 2h inside the Zoo. We loved our last visit everything was perfect as always.
I enjoyed my visit this time because it wasnt crowded, understandably. Going into the baby Gorilla exhibit was amazing because I got to see the one month old babys head while it was playing with its mother on the hammock inside its enclosure. Locking eyes with the Daddy gorilla as it sat next to the mother and baby was unnerving, knowing the sheer and raw strength these primates possess is intimidating. The Bear exhibit was a memorable one: I was about to take a photo of a bear chilling out in the water when suddenly another bear literally plops itself down blocking my whole view. What could I do but say, Well! I guess Im not taking a picture. The Leopard exhibit was awesome, the baby leopards are too adorable. The Lion, yeah he was sprawled out in the shade with one leg up against the shed just relaxing.Take your time to visit each exhibit, read the origins and habitat of each animal. Its educational, including one of my favorites, the Tarantulas.
Boo lights was so fun! We were able see a bunch of animals!
Boo lights was great! We really enjoyed the experience. It wouldve been a 5 stars but it could use more interactive things like their maze and the dragons for the price.
Always have a great time when I come here! Workers are very friendly and helpful. The zoo is very clean and professional
Had a lot of fun at Hogle zoo for the boo lights. With COVID restrictions the accessable exhibits can be walked through easily in the evening. My 4-year-old granddaughter and I were able to walk through everything once before the sun went down to see the animals and then have dinner while it got dark and walked through again to see the lights.I was there with a company party so the group there was limited. The only bottleneck was getting food. There was a 30+ minute line at all the food venues all night. The benefit of the long wait though is there is very limited seating to eat so most found a place to eat once got their food. The carousel closed for what I guess was a dinner break. It wasnt indicated that it was reopening so that caused some unnecessary disappointment. After dark most of the animals were sleeping so the lights are the main thing to see. There are lots of lights and that makes it fun. It is very spooky to hear a lion roar in the dark and see him moving through the dark enclosure. Also the monkeys sleeping on the top of posts were unbelievable.
The perfect day activity with little kids even when its packed! Its been a few years since I visited Hogle Zoo and the new renovations are awesome. The Giraffe, Elephant, and bear exhibits are amazing. Now you get close enough to feed the Giraffes and see how long their tongues are. The kids sat and watched the Sea Lions swim around for a good 30 minutes. We also loved the new playground and splash pad! Even though the parking was completely full, the crowds inside the zoo were totally fine.
This zoo was great. I have been to alot of zoos in the US and Hogle was one to come back to. Even in the winter they had a bunch of animals out and about. animals from elephants, giraffes, to tigers and seals. The zoo keepers were great too, they were out and about getting the animals to interact with them to come closer for people to view and also to educate people on them. great place to bring friends and family to look at a bunch of animals for a couple hours.
Annual memberships to the zoo are so worth it! You can always get your family plus 2 friends in on the pass, and train & carousel rides are included! If you go a couple times it pays for itself. The animals are easy to see & seem happy & active (except those lazy lions!) I recommend going early morning, or in early spring/fall when its cooler but not cold because the animals are more active.
Hogle zoo is awesome!! Even during the pandemic it is so fun. They do a great job reminding people to be socially distant and the employees are jumping to help and answer questions. And they were so appreciative that we supported the zoo and came. Cant wait to go again!!
Such a great zoo. It was really empty and most people wore masks, so we felt safe. The animals are really visible and we were able to get really close. The giraffe feeding was so much fun.
In traveling we go to different zoo often. We have an annual pass at home (Oakland, CA). Zoos always give reciprocity discounts. This zoo said it was not doing that anymore because Covid 19. No logic there, but one unhappy supporter of zoos.
Couldnt find the polar bear again but saw some amazing animals! Great for young kids, lots of restrooms.
Always a blast! Loads of baby animals to see right now so my kiddos love that. The train and carousel are open to riders and they have lots of hand sanitizer stations throughout the zoo. Masks are required at all times in the zoo but, a large number of persons werent wearing them which was unfortunate. I myself am not huge believer of masks but when asked to wear one to keep fun places with lots of people around open...Ill make the sacrifice. Be safe my friends and enjoy.
I happened to have injured myself while visiting this state, but they had wheelchairs for rent. The difficult parts were going up and downhill but still able to go around! It was funny seeing all the statues with their masks. They refilled our water bottles.Quite a few attractions. To some people I overheard: no, you cant force animals to come out for cameras... Despite that, many were out.Buying tickets online for assorted activities as well as all the assorted hand sanitizers were convenient. This was our first visit; we recommend it for fellow travelers!
Really fun zoo! Its on the smaller side, but the animals seem very well cared for and happy. The carousel and the train ride are both inexpensive and a fun treat for kids and adults alike. The area is clean and there was a big focus on conservation and taking care of our earth, which I love to see. Currently around the zoo, there are several life-sized animal art pieces made from litter found in waterways and oceans, and it helps you see what gets left behind. Theyre a great conversation starter with your kids on how it can be easy to do our part to keep our planet clean (dont leave trash around, pick up what you see, etc). The live bird show was fun to go to! We had many majestic birds glide inches above our heads, it was amazing! Also, the splash pad is a HUGE HIT! We went on a very hot summer day, and the splash pad was a welcome treat!
Great zoo that is especially well laid out during these COVID times. Plenty of space to keep distance, most people wore masks, and sanitizing stations near high touch areas for the kiddos.
I was able to volunteer here today and it was great! My group and I prepped food (i.e., twigs and leaves) for winter for the giraffes and apes. Rachel, as well as a regular volunteer, shared great information about the giraffes (we were near their enclosure) and the zoo. Fun and educational!
We love the zoo and come here frequently. Their newly remodeled stuff is amazing. I do wish they had a little more room, and a bigger variety of animals.....but it is a great zoo none the less..
I love this zoo. Lots to do. The exhibits are well designed and spacious with plenty of variety of animals. We stayed for the presentation about Elephants and it was really fascinating to watch and learn more about those amazing creatures. The admission was a bit steep - $19, but it was a great experience as an adult as well as for my 2 year old son. The best part was drinking water from the lion’s mouth. Bonus - they have a large play area.
This is a great zoo. The enclosures are close enough together that you dont have to walk long distances between animals. The enclosures are nice looking and large. There is a wide variety of animals. There are lots of places to sit and eat a lunch and the membership prices are well worth it. If you live in the area and especially if you have kids, I highly recommend a membership.
This was one of the most amazing things I have ever done! The staff is amazing and very helpful. But I recommend going during the afternoon because that is when the animals are out the most. But I would definently go again!
Awesome Zoo! The animals are beautiful and look as if they are cared for very very well. Our favorite was the polar bear when he went for a swim and came up to the glass to say hi! This is a great place to bring kids, really awesome day trip!
Awesome place but prepared to walk and explore the park take your time. I love the new attractions havent been back since 2003 so alot has changed. The food is well priced and be prepared for the heat up there. Also the employees assigned to each area are very knowledgeable about the animals that they cover. Never be afraid to ask questions its awesome
I love the Hogle Zoo and I really enjoy every trip. Whenever I have guests visiting, the Hogle Zoo is a MUST SEE. I have been a member for many years. The Hogle Zoo does an amazing job of caring for their animals, educating the public, and providing a great overall experience. I was impressed by the way they adjusted to masking, but super disappointed in the patrons. They were incredibly disrespectful, took their masks off or wore them on their chin, and crowded around others. The staff did a great job trying to remind people to remain safe and keep their distance. Aside from the lack of respect from patrons, the Hogle Zoo really is a great destination to see and learn about animals.
I came here as a kid and so I didn’t expect much. But it’s so much better now. I actually bought a season pass because it’s such a nice place to walk around now.
Im a season pass holder. I have been for years. Its a good place to take kids, just walk and explore. They have many adults only events like zoo brew that is a hoot. Overall its worth a visit if you enjoy animals and learning about nature. Every visit is different.
Hogle Zoo was a very nice place for or family. The train ride was awesome for out kids. They loved all of the animals. There is enough shade and places to relax that you can enjoy your time there.
I love this zoo! Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is amazing but each are special in their own way. The animals are amazing. Most exhibits are fairly new. The staff friendly. Zoo member now and plan to visit often.
How could you not love the zoo? Great staff and reasonable prices. The animals are wonderful! They staff do a great job enforcing social distancing, and only let a certain amount of people in the park at a time this is the absolute best time to go because theres no crowds or lines!
The zoo is always a great family adventure. Even during these uncertain times theyve figured out ways to make it enjoyable! I cant wait until they can be fully open with no restrictions.
A fun little zoo to visit. We visited before we had to fly back it took about 2 hours to go through the whole zoo at a leisurely pace. One of the few zoos that Ive been to that has a art gallery you can pick up some very awesome and unique art.I definitely recommend coming here if you need to kill some time between plans.
This is a great family event. The Beastro has tasty food and there are other activities for kids to do besides visiting the animals. A great train ride!
Make sure to buy tickets online before you make your way here. Limited admission due to COVID. Dont expect to have the same experience as before this whole covid thing. They should consider dropping prices due to this problem.
It was a very hot day! My family and I got very sweaty. But the animals were fun to see but I couldnt help but worry about some of them. Because it looked like some of them were baking in the hot sun. The tiger for instance was panting very heavily, laying in the hot sun. He looked like he was too weak to get up and walk to his pool to cool off.The zoo-keepers should try to provide a better form of air conditioning for those animals in the summer, like perhaps put sprinklers in their cages.
My wife and I stopped in using the city pass. We didnt have the kids but that didnt stop us from having fun. Weather was great, staff was friendly and the animals were all out in for viewing. A beautiful facility and great walk. Weather was perfect in the morning but warmed up as it got closer to noon. They have water pads for kids and if you are willing adults. Placed offered up and close views of animals
Very cool zoo! Tons of fun animals that you dont always get to see at other zoos. Very worth the price.
Amazing zoo. It does seem kind of expensive for the size, compared to some zoos of the same size, but I enjoyed it. Tickets are a couple dollars cheaper during the winter time, but you still see most of the animals. We didnt see the Ostriches and barely saw the giraffes. There were a few other animals who were moved out of their exhibit because it was winter, but for the most part, we saw almost every animal. There was also not a huge amount of people there either. Even with it being a Saturday, I think people dont want to come in the winter. I would strongly recommend going in the winter to beat the crowds. The train was closed and a lot of the restaurants were closed too, but that didnt affect our visit at all.About photos: These are all the animals we saw inside and outside. Most of them were out. The gorillas were going inside and outside. The monkeys were inside and kept in there. I will be posting these with my review, but I will continue adding more to photos, so everyone can see what it looks like right now.
Boo lights. Maze was cool for the little kids.
Great zoo! Really worth the time and money. Had a great time as a family. There have been a lot of improvements over the last decade. Other than the reptile house, I believe everything else is nearly brand new. Many of the exhibits are really spectacular. Go!
Great place to get away from the city. The care for their animals is top notch. Take your time and enjoy the natural beauty and the world of wildlife. Places to eat sit and relax.
It is big enough to see animals but not have to walk miles to see them. The set ups are well to see animals up close and personal with glass. Also the view of the mountains in the bag drop is great too.
Nice and clean. Was able to social distance and felt safe. Great for moms and kids
We arrived 5 minutes before gates opened at 9am. There was plenty of parking and only a few families in the ticket line. We spent over an hour looking at exhibits but we could have easily spent 3 hours if we had spent time at the splash pad, playground, and carousel. We enjoyed the way the zoo was spread out and the life size stone and metal animal figurines placed around the zoo. As we made our way to the exit around 10:30, the zoo was pretty busy and navigating around people was challenging. Were glad we arrived first that morning where we practically had the entire place to ourselves. Recommend going early to beat the crowd.
This zoo is not one of the larger ones around the country. But this is an excellent place to take kids (or adults) who might only want to spend 3-4 hours as opposed to the whole day. Very clean facilities and the food, while pricey, is better than average. Best to get there in the morning when they open if you want to find a parking spot close without having to cross Sunnyside Ave on foot.
Seems like a good zoo, but there are SO many people not wearing masks and not respecting distance. I felt unsafe here and left quickly, wasting my entrance fee. The zoo should be better about enforcing their social distancing/safety requirements.
We went to the free day last month and yes it was crowded and yes it was hold...but we still had a fun time. This zoo is the perfect size. Large enough to see a lot of animals in large enclosures, but small enough to be manageable in a day or afternoon. The zoo is well maintained...you can tell they take pride in education of their visitors and their care of the animals The carousel is a fav of the kids and my personal favorite is the seal lion / seal show... As well as the bird show in the summer. I usual avoid free days but this one is too good to pass up.
Lots of fun! With 4 boys the train is our favorite attraction, lol. The food (we ate down by the bears) was better than expected too. :)
Mask policy are ridiculous. Expensive for lack of animals. We didnt see but a few animals. We got tickets to see baby gorilla, but could barely see because they have you as far away from thinck protection glass. I didnt understand why they kept saying that was for our protection. Is the glass wall not strong enough? Some staff were a bit snotty especially given we choose to go during high risk time slot because my niece has disabilities. They have a ton of updated to make to be a quality zoo. The train was only a couple mins long and does a small loop.If you live in the area I would.really suggest helping the zoo to raise money to help make it more! The kids did seem to enjoy other then all the parents were yelling at shitlins not to touch anything.
They require masks to be with in building, but the exhibits are as open as always. Great for a walk and some great photos
Fun and stimulating for my family even during the Pandemic. Masks only required in buildings and ordering food. There is the 2 month old baby gorilla which is neat to see.. And now, you can feed Giraffes and Elephants!!
Loved our experience today! It was great! However, when we went on the train I felt bad. The conductor had such great stories but we couldnt understand half of what she was saying because she was wearing a mask. That seemed stupid to me as no one was near her and it would seem that every effort would be made to make sure people could get the info she was trying to share.
I was super impressed. We met a friend there. Parking was easy. They kept it super clean and simple to stay safe and even though the playground, carousel and train are all closed, my kids from teen to toddler all loved it. Those gorgeous animals were captivating. We had plenty of time to see everything and enjoy our experience. Take time to talk with the workers, theyre so knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Zoo! It was a fantastic day. Try their popcorn and ice cream. My kids loved their chocolate cones. I really enjoyed my dole whip. The burgers and garlic parmesan fries looked delicious too.
Wonderful! Someone even returned our daughters winter coat by hanging it on the white picket fence where I dropped it out front of the parking lot. No one else took it either! Everyone who visits there and works there is kind and honest. This is our second excellent experience with more to come. These photos are from Boo at the Zoo!
We actually had a blast here! They have a lot of cool animals here! Ones I would never expect to see in a zoo in Utah. Ever! Easy to spend hours here! We got to feed the giraffes which was very fun! But they were so strict! We bought one lettuce to feed the giraffe and they almost wouldn’t let me in there to take a picture of my wife feeding it. And wouldn’t let us split it to both fees the giraffe. We’re paying you to do your job for you, let us feed them lettuce!
I had a wonderful time at the Hogle zoo! All the animals are interactive and incredibly beautiful, well cared for and I felt really welcome. Im a wheelchair user and for the most part, the pavement is all smooth and the paths are nice and wide. I did struggle with some doors, they should have buttons to assist the disabled. The sand cat was the cutest! The red panda, the most fun, the snow leopard was asleep with its paws against the glass. The apes were Majestic. I missed the bird show but I heard it was fabulous. I could have spend hours in the small animals house and with the big cats. There were food options, snacks and an incredible carousel which I got to ride. That was like magic for me. I hope you all have a great time too! Just be aware the further you go into the park, the steeper the inclines. If not for the fence i could have reached out and pet the lions mane.
This is a beautiful Zoo! Growing up and watching to grow and develop further has been incredible! We have a Premier Booster Membership and it’s been great!! We love the added bonus of getting to bring guests and having three named adults! My kiddos love it!
Always am amazing experience, but it was definitely more closed off and different due to covid-19.
Its not a huge zoo, but it certainly has a lot of unique animals! They make the most of the space and have many family friendly activities.
It was really fun. I enjoyed going with my family and seeing the animals. You can even feed the giraffes, but of course there is a fee for that. They have all kinds of animals. Not a small zoo, but not a big one either. There is a small train you can go on. However, we couldnt get on because they closed it for an hour saying that it needed to be cleaned, because ya know, covid-19. Either way it was still fun. They had covid masks on all the park statues. The gift shop was alright. The stuff animals are way to expensive. A small toy that is like $5.99 at Walgreens is $11.99 there. The jewelry was actually a lot more cheaper than the toys. They have cool items at the gift shop, but anything stuff animal related was too pricey. The place is really clean. The animals were so cool to see. They had a good variety of animals to see. They are all so cute. I would definitely go back to the zoo again. But Im not to sure on that gift shop.
